3. Introduction to Light
• Light: is electromagnetic radiation waves Reflection:
is the change in direction of a wave front at an
interface between two different media Refraction:
the change in direction of propagation of a wave
4. Activity 1: Lights and their Spectra
• Procedure : to start with we made a
simple spectrum like this then we added
the light sources mentioned up these
pictures represent the light spectrum of
the types of light.
• Description : observing the visible
spectrum of light in 2 types of light
• ( florescent , incandescent )
5. Activity 1: Lights and their Spectra
• Results : We can see 2 different types of
Light spectrum using 2 different types of light
first we can see the florescent light spectrum
second we can see the incandescent light
spectrum
• Conclusion : There is different types of light
spectrum according to the type of light
Activity 1: Light and their spectrum
6. Activity 2: Observing Diffraction
• Description : Observing waves in water when there’s
an obstacle
• Procedure : to make the following experiment we
needed Plastic container, wooden blocks, wooden rod
and water we tried to line the wooden blocks as in the
picture then we started making waves using the rod.
7. Activity 2: Observing Diffraction
• Results : We can summarize results by saying that
water passed through when there was an opening
but it didn’t pass through when there’s a barrier.
• Conclusion : we concluded that waves in water
does not pass through barriers but it can pass
through an opening .
8. Activity 3: Observing Interference
• when a wave passes through a slit the
wave gets more visible when the slit
length is the same as the lamda
• observe interference by simulation
9. Activity 3: Observing Interference
• Interference Transparent.
Types
Constructive : it happens when the peak of
the wave meet the other peak other the
wave or the opposite bottom meet the
bottom.
Destructive : it happens when the peak of
the wave meet the bottom of the other wave
10. Activity 4: Observing Iridescence
• The peacock feather color changed under the ultraviolet
light because of something called iridescences which is
caused for two primary reasons which are :
• 1) Nanostructure (Ex. Peacock feather)
• 2) Thin film (Ex. Soap bubbles)
• 3) Both of the nanostructure and the film (Ex.)
11. Activity 4: Observing Iridescence
• Observing iridescence using an ultraviolet light
and a peacock feather .
• in order to observe iridescence we got a
hardened paper box we made a hole in each end
one for the light and one for our eyes so we can
see the peacock feather , then we put the
peacock feather under the box turned on the
ultraviolet
light and then we saw different
colors because of it’s
nanostructure.

Protecting the lives of divers for a safe marine environment
Introduction and Rationale:
We are interested in this project because Qatar is considered a peninsula
and it has a large seas that must be used
I was attracted to this project because we are now in a siege and we must
produce this project and will help to increase sea production.
The problem we tried to solve is the loss of divers in the sea and we tried in
our group to deal with the problem humanely and this is characteristic of
our group
In our new project we tried to deal with light in solving problems far greater
than just lighting the dark
Of course it has a promising future because it will protect the lives of divers
and will help to increase sea production
Aim of the work
Our goal of the project is to protect life
Divers, and make the marine environment more secure and more
advantageous
13. GAWAS
Hypothesis:
• A ship catching a diver and looking to find out
where the diver is and protect him from
being lost.
• Our project works by the GPS in a diver's
suit. The site will be sent to the satellite and
will receive the GPS on the boat and then
move towards the diver
14. GAWAS
our product story:
• The story began when we argued that there are many divers
are lost in the sea and in the recent period Qatar has become
interested in local products, we thought in the way to protect
the lives of divers to create a safer environment and a larger
sea production and with workshops in Albirq revolutionized
the idea of our project
• We have had a lot of trouble in how we can make the light
vessel catch the diver and it is inside the sea and they have a
great distance and after a long search we discovered a solution
which is the GPS
15. GAWAS
Results:
• We succeeded in finding a solution to our problem by
protecting the lives of divers from loss within the sea to
create a safe and safe environment
16. GAWAS
Recommendations:
• We recommend the use of this project by the Coast
Guard, divers and authorities responsible for marine
tourism and we recommend the State to help us
develop our project and use it on land as well
• During the implementation of our project we faced
many problems, including how we can connect the
GPS with the diver, which is the sea
17. Conclusions
(Overall)
At the beginning of the workshop we did not
have the background behind the light but after
the workshop we learned about the four
phenomena of light and here came the idea of
our project
18. Acknowledgment
Thank all our family, teachers, friends, and
alshaymaa school because they supported us
during our journey in Al-bairaq project.
Also we don’t forget to thank Al-Bairaq team
and the sponsors who gave us the opportunity
to participate in Al-Bairaq project.
