3. Introduction
In our life we passed from difficulties and problems ,
so we trying to solve it by using sensors.
There are hundreds of sensors around us to help us in
our daily life , so what are sensors ?
- A sensor is a device that detects and responds to some
type of input from physical environ ment .
4. Object Detect
Ice yes
Hot water yes
Card board No
What object can sensor detect ?
We passed three different objects with different temperatres in
front the motion detector to see if it detects any motion .
The range of detectin is a cone shape .
Distance approximately 30feet .
It detectinfared radiation move slowly can not detect .
Activity 1: Evading Motion Detection
5. Activity 2: Taking a tour of some
sensors
To know different stimuli and responses.
We were given different toys and each had 3 min to
discover what id the stimuli and response of the object
was :
Each smart sensor has a different response
depend on it’s purpose .
Object Stimuli Response
Flower toy Sound Flower spins
Frog Motion Sound
Talking Ben Pressure Sound
Singing Card Motion Sound
Singing birds Sound sound
6. Activity 3: Making Microphone
To notice the different between flexible and regid film :
We were given balloon , cup , alligator clips ,
amplifier/ speaker PVDF & rigid PVDF and discover
using which gives the loudest sound .
The flexible was heard more clearly than the rigid film
.
Both films respond better to scratching , flicking and
blowing than talking .
We were able to hear (talk) when both PVDF were
connected to the substrate ; when we talk the
ballon increases the vibration which also increases
the voltage and causes sound .
7. Activity 4: Exploring the Piezo Effect
:Inside story
A) Building a PVDF monomer :
We were to explore how PVDF is mading from
individual atoms and small moleculs atoms with
the use of molecular model kits {C2H2F2} .
B) Building the PVDF polymer:
Build a PVDF polymer model using molecular
model kits using the monomers build in repeating
{C2H2F2}
8. Activity 4: Exploring the Piezo Effect
:Inside story
Pending in one direction produce positive voltage and bending on
the other direction produce negative voltage.
The faster the pending the largrer the potential
9. Activity 5: Measuring Piezoelectric or
Pyroelectric Response
PVDF stands for polyvinylidene fluoride the
chemical structure of the PVDF
The PVDF contains carbon , hudrogen and
florine .
PVDF is a polymer that reacts to preasure
and releases voltage .
We measured the amount of voltage that
produced by the different mass.
11. Design Project: Design a Coin
Counter
We understood that coin counter depends on mass
of coin to have variety in voltage .
We foud out that the mass to voltage has a sequence
, so we used this sequence to find out the mass of 4
coins.
COIN 1 2 3 4
Mass 4.5 3.5 2.5 1.7
Volt 1.8 1.3 1 1.5
12. Final Project:
Control of electrical fire using sensors
Our project on the use of smart sensors to
reduce electricity fires by using Ultra Vilot
Detector .
The Ultra Vilot Detector : This device feels the
presence of flame by using ultraviolet rays UV
so it change the electrical points from open
electrical points to closed electrical points (
from NC to NO Or vice versa ) This change can
be exploited in electrical control.
13. Final Project:
(Control of electrical fire using sensors)
There are a lot of losses caused by electrical fires and the
old means are no longer useful so we tried to get rid of
this problem and with the help of the team Al-bairaq
using smart sensors.
Smart sensors are one of the most important inventions
scientists have recently discovered and we should use
them to reduce accidents that cost many lives.
We, the Newton team, helped Al-Bayraq team to use
intelligent sensors to reduce these accidents .
14. Control of electrical fire using sensors
Aim of the work (objectives) ( هدفالبحث )
This project helps our society and our beloved country Qatar reduce
the losses caused by electrical fires.
Through Albirq we got a lot of experience that will help us in our
lives.
Using this project we will protect our society from the occurrence of
these incidents so as to make our society safer and more peaceful.
Our government seeks to protect, preserve and develop our
environment and we must help them protect our environment by
reducing fires that cause a lot of damage to nature.
15. Control of electrical fire using sensors
Hypothesis: ()الفرضية
- What will this project entail?
We expect that after a few years this project will be
used more and will be developed to protect our
society and our environment.
Fire losses will decrease and our society will become
more secure.
16. Control of electrical fire using sensors
Materials
- A circuit consisting of :
1- Electrical wires .
2- Battery
3- lamb
4- Ultraviolet detector (PVDF)
17. Control of electrical fire using sensors
Method
Use the Electrical circuit which Supplied by a sensor , and
bring a spark so the sensor will turn the circuit off and
Prevents the fire.
18. Control of electrical fire using sensors
Results: ()النتائج
Our project will result in saving many lives,
preserving the environment and property,
and minimizing losses in a short period of
time.
The lack of fire will result in a clean
environment and therefore clean air that will
moderate the temperature.
Our lives will become easier and we will not
worry about fires and will live in peace.
19. Control of electrical fire using sensors
Recommendations: ()التوصيات
Our project must be properly used. We can prevent
fire caused by electricity and preferably used in indoor
places and places that firefighters can not reach.
We recommend that you do more research on this
subject in order to be in a safer environment.
20. Conclusions
(Overall of the whole module)
Through our participation in Al Bayraq we have
benefited from many experiences that will help us in
our lives.
At first we learned collective action.
We have taken advantage of many information about
intelligent sensors, how they work, what they consist
of and what we can use to make our lives easier.
