 Kalapi
 Nature
 Imagination
 Religion
 Humanity
 Memory
 Transcendence and
connectivity
 Wordsworth’s poetry does
include passages of great
hope, optimism, joy and nature
best summarized through his
famous poem “Lines written a
few miles above Tintern
Abbey”.
 I have felt a presence that
disturb me with joy,
 Whose dwelling is the light of
setting Sun, and the round
Ocean and the living Air, and
the blue sky, and in the mind of
man.
Kalapi also a lover of Nature in the
present poem
(Reminder) a poet. Has
a very ably created a picture of
Nature.
( Dewy drops trickle from
flowers, with a smooth petal of
the flower wet with nectar, and
the dark night is quit with
abundance of milky white
moon).
 Wordsworth has great
power of imagination.
 Here in the poem “The
Prelude” Wordsworth feels
that he has been chosen by a
power beyond his
comprehension.
 “The Sea was laughing at a
distance; all the solid
mountains were as bright as
cloud, Grain tinctured,
drench’d in empyrean light”.
 Kalapi as a Romantic poet
exhaled Romantic poetry
same as a flower would
exhaled fragrance. In the
poem “Kamalini” His
Imagination touches new
heights when he compares
the ripples caused by
throwing a stone into water.
 Beautiful fish with diamond
necklace of lady.
 Lady’s face with pendant of
the necklace.
 Wordsworth’s poetry on human relation
and emotion.
 “Michael”
 “Solitary Reaper”
Will no one can tell me what she sings?,
perhaps the plaintive numbers flow for old,
unhappy,
far-off things, and battles long ago:
some natural sorrow, loss, or pain, that has
been, and may be again?
 In this below lines Kalapi expresses his
deep and intense feeling on the death of
‘સારસ’(crane) that was killed by hunter so,
here we can see the humanity in the
Kalapi’s poem.
(Alas! His
wings of love seem to have been broken: it
is pity that such a birds has also to
undergo such a pain, the hunter seems to
have killed him with arrow and where it
strike blood stopped flowing, why people
revel in inflicting pain to others?)
 Wordsworth believes in absolute
simplicity of diction. He uses very
simple words to bring about
striking effect into his line.
 Poetry should be man speaking to
man.
 Westminster Bridge, wherein he
signs of the beauty of the fie
morning.
 Earth has not anything to show
more far:
dull would he be of soul who could
pass by,
a sight to touching in its majesty.
 Similarly, the picture created by
Kalapi is very ordinary and
ordinary readers can easily
understand.
 The following lines taken from one
of his famous poem “Gram Mata”
aptly justifies simplicity.
(The red gentle Sun
rise in the east, the Blue sky is
absolutely clear, cold breeze is
blowing inspiring enthusiasm;
birds are flying singing sweet
melodious song).
 Wordsworth has also made use of
the words and phrases of the
ordinary speech in the poem
which also rhyme very well.
 “The lines written in early spring”.
 ‘To her fair work did nature link,
the human soul that through me
ran; and much it Grieved my heart
to think, what man has made of
man’.
 Kalapi is one of great lyric poet in
Gujarati literature.
 The poem“Aapni Yadi” is on of the
best example of his lyrical
exuberance.
તયાાં આપની;
(Whenever I look, I am
reminded of you, even during my
wails, you are reminded. I am not
afraid of wickedness and not
worried of sins(now), as to wash
away all sins, there flows the
Ganga).
 To conclude, we can say that Gujarati
Romantic poets Highly influenced from
Western Romanticism, especially
Wordsworth and Kalapi major figure of
Romanticism from different continent. Thus,
we can say that to write such a poem never
stop any border or boundary.
