child takes part in labor to help their family’s
financial state, child labor prevents children from

UNICEF: :child is involved in child labor activities if
between 5 and 11 years of age, he or she did at
least one hour of economic activity or at last 28
hours of domestic work in a week. In case of
children between 12 to 14 years of age he or she
did at least 14 hours of economic activity or 42
hours of domestic per week.”

11. According to Trafficking in Persons Report(TIP)
2014, there are over 20 million persons trafficked
for various forms of exploitation worldwide.
India is a major point for sourcing, destination and
trafficking of women and children. India is also a
transit point of boys who are sent to Dubai and
other middle-East countries for camel racing and
frequently sent to Saudi Arabia where begging is
an organized billion dollar industry, especially
during Hujj. According to the National Human
Rights Commission of India, over 40,000 children
are reported missing every year.
12. To remove child laboring, recommended
actions to be taken by government and
society have to focus on Prevention,
Prosecution and protection.
The time to act is now. Remember it could be
your child next….
