3. Tractor Driving
PRE STARTING CHECKUP
1. Check tractor position ground surface in horizontal condition .
2. Check water level of radiator tank and oil level of diesel tank.
3. Check the main gear level , high and low engaging gear lever,PTO
lever in neutral position.
4. Check tyre pressure (PSI unit)
On field On road
front wheel (24-26) (28-30)
rear wheel (18-22) (20-24)
4. Procedure of starting
• Put main and high and low gear lever in neutral position.
• Press the main clutch paddle fully and foot acceleration

• Put the ignition key ignition switch & turn clockwise for
2-3 second.
Safety precautions
• Avoid intoxicants like liquor & opium while operating
• Wear footwear and snug fitting clothing while driving and
stay away from all moving parts.
• Lock the break pedal together when travelling on public
road
• No person should mount or dismount from tractor while
it is in motion and avoid sitting on roof, drawbar,
mudguard etc
7. MB PLOUGH
MB plough is a primary tillage implement

8. Horizontal hitching of mb plough
Centre Of Resistance (COR) – ¼ from pt of share or ¾ from wing of share
Measured wheal tread 52 cm
For proper hitching & moment balance Line of pull must pass through centre
of resistance . If gap is present implement will have a side draft.

11. DISC PLOUGH
It is a plough which cuts ,turns and in same cases breaks
furrow slices by means of separately mounted large steel
disc.
It is designed with a view to reduce friction by maxing a
rolling ploughing bottom instead of sliding plough bottom.
12. ADVANTAGES OF DISC PLOUGH
1. A disc plough can be forced to
penetrate into the soil which is too
hard and dry of soil.
2. It works well in sticky soil.
3.It is more useful for deep ploughing.
4.It can works in stony and stumpy
soil.
13. DISADVANTAGES OF DISC PLOUGH
1. A disc plough can be forced to penetrate
into the soil which is too hard and dry for
working with a mould board plough, but not
suitable for covering surface trace
2. Disc plough leaves the soil in rough and
more cloddy condition .
3. Disc plough is much heavier than M.B
Plough.

16. Terminology related to disc plough
Disc – It is a circular, concave, revolving steel
plate used for cutting and inverting the soil.
Disc angle- it is the angle at which the plane of
cutting edge of the disc is inclined to the
direction of travel .it varies between 42 to 45
degree.
Tilt angle- it is the angle at which the plane of
the cutting edge of the disc is inclined to a
vertical line . The tilt angle varies from 15 to 25
degree for a good plough.
Scraper –it is a device to remove soil that tend to
