5. -> main problem are the low molecular weight
components in the ink / coating
Low molecular weight means high mobility
high risk of migration
Critical sources – UV Low Migration inks/varnishes
• Photoinitiators
• Reactive diluents
• Additives
• Residuals, impurities from the synthesis

NewV pack MGA® quality concept
Solution for safe food packaging
12. NewV pack MGA ink / coating composition
Inhouse development and synthesis of
UV acrylates for low migration systems with:
• High molecular weight
• High funtionality
• Highest purity
Design and production of specific,
tailor made LM molecules
Control from the “beginning till the end”
• synthesis/production
• final formulation
13. NewV pack MGA®
Special properties:
NewV pack MGA® inks are designed for primary food
packaging, taking into account relevant requirements
like the Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and the Swiss
ordinance for consumer goods (SR 817.023.21)
NewV pack MGA® inks are low migration i.e. the cured ink film
contain only substances that do not migrate or that are
evaluated for food contact
NewV pack MGA® inks are showing excellent results of
organoleptic assessment of prints (low odour, low taste)
14. Low migration property is already achieved
– in conditions of inadequate UV curing of the inks
=> No influence to migration results by the ageing
of the curing equipment

15. NewV pack MGA® – MORE SAFETY FOR YOU
We guarantee that from the cured ink layer of packaging
produced according to Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMP) with NewV pack MGA® inks, there will be no
transfer of substances to the packed food in excess of
applicable limits.
The inks are formulated using limited amounts of
substances with specific migration limits, so that the limits
cannot be exceeded by mathematical calculation even
under worst case conditions.
The migration of substances which are not evaluated
toxicologically will be below the detection limit of 0,01 mg/kg
foodstuff (10 ppb) set by the EuPIA Guideline as well as by
Swiss Ordinance SR 817.023.21. For the sum of all
evaluated substances, the overall migration limit of 10
mg/dm² will be met.
