                             Frequently Asked Questions

What is GM Excellence?
   • GM Excellence is the new single “umbrella” program over all of SFE and GM Mark of
       Excellence moving forward.
   • Its purpose is to streamline all dealership performance improvement and recognition
       efforts under one umbrella.
   • Retained will be the core structure and benefits of SFE and GM Mark of Excellence for both
       Dealers and dealership personnel.
   • It provides a simplified process for Dealers with consistent performance metrics to track
(SFE and SFE Dealer Recognition], one web site and continuity of divisional Dealer
       programs.

Have the SFE and GM Mark of Excellence web site addresses been changed?
   • Yes.  If you type www.gmprograminfo.com or www.gmsfelive.com into your browser, you
will now be redirected to the new GM Excellence home page at www.gmexcellence.com.
   • Simply click the logo of the program web site you wish to visit – gmprograminfo.com or
gmsfelive.com – and you will be directed to the correct login page.
   • Please create a new bookmark for www.gmexcellence.com.

Are the 2009 SFE and GM Mark of Excellence programs being merged into one?
   • They are now both components of GM Excellence, but enrollment will be separate and
dealers can generally choose to participate in one and not the other.

What are the enrollment dates for each component?
   • 2009 GM SFE:                     October 6, 2008 – October 31, 2008
   • 2009 GM Mark of Excellence:   December 1, 2008 – January 30, 2009

Why are there two different enrollments?
   • Because the two enrollment processes are currently so different, separate enrollments will
       still be required for 2009.
   • SFE has its own unique enrollment process relevant to the Dealer and dealership. And GM
Mark of Excellence requires its own set of enrollment steps geared for the array of
       dealership participants.
   • The combining of enrollments is being considered for 2010.

Do GM Dealers have to be enrolled in both SFE and GM Mark of Excellence in order to
participate or earn rewards in either component of GM Excellence?
   • No. They are now both components of GM Excellence, but enrollment will be separate and
dealers can generally choose to participate in one and not the other.
   • A Dealer can enroll his/her staff in  GM Mark of Excellence, but not be enrolled in SFE
   • Likewise, a Dealer can enroll in SFE and not in GM Mark of Excellence.

If I enroll in SFE, will I be participating in GM SFE Dealer Recognition?
     • Yes. A Dealer who enrolls in the 2009 GM SFE program will also be participating in the new
GM SFE Dealer Recognition portion of SFE.

Is there still a GM Mark of Excellence Dealer recognition program?
     • No. Formerly part of GM Mark of Excellence, Dealer recognition has been shifted over to
SFE. It will now be called GM SFE Dealer Recognition.
     • However there will still be Business Central Dealer Recognition in Mark of Excellence
requiring that the Dealer hit the same divisional CSI targets as SFE.

Do dealership Sales Managers and Sales Consultants need to be enrolled in GM Mark of
Excellence in order participate in GM Pullboards next year?
     • Yes. As in 2008, enrollment in GM Mark of Excellence and completion of GM Training
requirements are required to remain eligible to participate in any GM Pullboards, GM
recognition programs, sales incentive programs or contests.

Do dealership Sales Managers and Sales Consultants need to be enrolled in SFE in order to
participate in GM Pullboards?
     • No.  However, as noted above, dealership sales staff need to be enrolled in GM Mark of
Excellence and have completed their GM Training requirements.

Will SFE and the GM SFE Dealer Recognition share common sales and CSI objectives?
     • Yes. Both programs will share common sales and CSI objectives.
     • However, dealerships enrolled in the SFE Multi‐line program will compete for dealer
recognition rewards for each applicable division within that BAC with a divisional sales
objective and using the divisional SFE CSI objective.

Will SFE and the GM SFE Dealer Recognition share common GM Training standards?
     • No.  Refer to your 2009 SFE Process Manual for SFE Training requirements.
     • GM SFE Dealer Recognition will require that the dealership be enrolled in GM Training. In
addition, 50% or more of the non‐technical Mark of Excellence enrolled participants must
achieve GM Training Certification, and the dealership must attain at least 50% completion
of the required Service Training Standards (STS).

How will GM Excellence impact the GM Dealer Of The Year program?
     • GM Dealer Of The Year honorees will now be selected from the top‐performing Dealers in
GM SFE Dealer Recognition. Previously they were selected from GM Mark of Excellence
        Dealer Recognition.

What are the benefits to this change?
     • Reduces the number of special enrollments.
     • SFE and the GM SFE Dealer Recognition will share more consistent performance metrics,
including sales objectives and CSI targets.
     • All  sales numbers for both programs will be on one web site – www.gmsfelive.com
     • The top dealerships in each competitive group will still be recognized annually with
Division‐specific awards, including the prestigious Divisional Trophy.
     • The Divisional recognition will also continue, such as Cadillac and HUMMER Master Dealer,
Chevrolet Genuine Leaders, BPG Select Leader and Saturn Summit.
