2. The combination of my
main product and ancillary
text is extremely effective
as they all have the same
theme throughout. The
colours in my music video
are dull to reflect a sad
tone; the sad, reflective
state is also shown through
the main character’s
movements and their attire.
As with most music videos
I wanted to keep the viewer
entertained whilst also not
drawing them away from
the music too much, with
the dull colours I feel that
this allows the viewer to
focus on the song.
In the main product the character is
wearing a jumper with the hood up and
always walk with their head down. In the
ancillary products I have used stills from
the video where the main character is
walking through a forest and sat looking
out over a river. I found these were my
most effective shots that conveyed a
feeling of complete isolation.
3. In the digipak I have used many stills from my main product, as the
digipak is opened the same still is seen that I have used on my
magazine advert. The still on the back of the digipak has no one in it,
again this helps to create a sense of isolation that is also portrayed in
my main product.
Another aspect I have kept the same is the
font, at the start of my music video the title
is an old style, serif font. This is the same
font I have used for both of my ancillary
products. My ancillary products give a good
indication of what the music video will be
like, this is why I feel that the combination
of my main product and ancillary products
are very effective.
