2. Music video
The main theme of the music video were
troubled teenagers and how they would
behave. The way I could resemble that in
the music video was by betraying that
behaviour in the narrative by drug use
and the over all acting. This way I could
emphasise the main aspect of the
narrative. I portrayed that by using props
like syringe and cigarette to show what
teenagers do when they are in trouble
and don’t know what to do with them
self's.
One aspect of the video was to
represent the friend ship between the
characters. The music video is
concentrated on the main character
mostly as that’s the key role in the
narrative and its more generic for the
alternative genre .

3. Digipak
At the font and back of the digipak I have used
similar images of black background and cracked
font that I have found on Dafont.com. The
image at the front of the digipak was skull and
face shape and that’s suppose to represent
fighting with inner demons like drug addiction, I
did that because I wanted to keep the similarity
between music video and the digipak I have
also created the inside in the same theme so
that both inside and outside look similar. . I
have used Adobe Photoshop to achieve the
final result from the original photos.
This also allowed me to achieve adding things
like titles and other digipak related things.

4. Magazine advert
Magazine advert is similar to the digipak as I wanted to
stick to the same theme as it would be easier to
recognise for audience and it would suite the theme of
the overall product. I have used the same image as I did
in the digipak because it was best fit the advert.
One main thing I have changed in the advert is the font
of the text and I have included social media logos and
date of release like it would be expected in advert. I
have also included small picture of digipak so that it
would be more recognisable.
Including the social media logos it conventional and
common thing.

5. Theme
Main theme of the music
video and ancillary text and
the digipak is the teenage
lifestyle. I have iclouded in
that in all my products and I
have stuck to the theme.

6. Target Audience
My target audience is teenager and young adults. All my products are
targeted at them because they are similar and are of the same theme.
Because I have used theme that is a common problem however the target
audience might very because of the psychological aspect of the music video
and younger audience might not understand the meaning of the narrative.
Also because of the costume for my character
Digipak is more universal and is more targeted at all the ages in my target
audience group because of the images and the digipak will appeal to more to
the male audience however it still might appeal to some females.
Magazine advert because of its similarity to digipak it is also more likely to be
liked by all the target audience. The advert would be possibly published in
magazines like Kerrang and Metal Hammer to target both secondary and
primary audience.

7. Locations
Locations is were the key thing for my product as that’s what would be
representing the narrative the most. I have stuck to one key locations which
was flat. I have used my girlfriends flat to resemble the ‘cheap’ lifestyle of
teenagers, I have also made the flat more generic for the audience there for I
made more mess and used darker filter in editing to make flat look more
‘destroyed’, Another location that is featured in my music video is small path
that I used for running scene. My ancillary text does not have any similarity to
the video as I have used blank black background for both advert and the
digipak.

8. The Flat
For most of the video I have used the flat.
The toilet was the opening scene to
introduce the audience to the narrative of
the ‘long night’ and the troubled
teenager. Using the shot of the hand and
cuts between the hand and whole
character represented the weakness that
was the part of the narrative.
Because most of the video is done in flat I
used one key thing which was balcony.
Having balcony allowed me to show the
crazy side of the main character and the
suicidal side of the narrative.
With these locations I have used
overlay aspect of editing that I
done using Adobe Premier, using
this allowed me to use quick
flashback with the narrative
carrying on and cutting back to
the scene in toilet and cut
between outside shots and shot
in the flat.

9. Road
Filming on the road and outside
the flat made the scene of the
worried friend running to save
his friend. As part of the
narrative one responsible
teenager will go and try to save
his friend. Because I have used
tracking shot I required a lot of
space and I wanted to show
distance between main character
and his friend.

10. Digipak and Advert
Although the digipak and Advert are
similar on the advert I have not used a
track list or any text from the digipak
except from the artist name and album
title. On the advert I have made it clear
when the album will be available and
used conventional ways to advertise
my product like date of availability and
things like where to buy the album and
things like website of the artist.
Main difference between digipak and
magazine advert is the font I have used.
I wanted to make advert font more
clear to read and make I much larger
than I would on my digipak as well as I
have used a QR code on the digipak
that would allow consumer to access
special content before they have
purchased the album.

11. In conclusion there are many similarities between my music
video, digipak and magazine advert. I have stuck to the same
theme in my digipak and advert and tried to resemble that using
my music video so that they are in the same theme. I have
resembled new technology on my digipak and magazine advert.
Slight difference is in the target audience where the music video
is aimed at slightly older audience and the digipak and the
advert are aimed at all they age groups in my target audience.
The combination in the advert and the digipak allowed me to
target all the audiences. There for I think combination between
my main product and ancillary text is successful.
