This document outlines the history and objectives of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in India. It discusses how NSS was established in 1969 and aims to develop student's social skills and civic sense through voluntary community service activities. Key activities include annual week-long camps focusing on rural development projects like literacy classes, road construction, and health education. The scheme aims to promote national integration while benefiting both students and society.
