4. TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME
Tree plantation drive - 1st July, 2016
 Venue: V.E.S college of arts, science and commerce
 Dr. Mrs. J.K. Phadnis (Principal), Mrs.Anita Kanwar (Vice-Principal), NSS
Members and volunteers planted trees in different locations all around the
college.
Tree plantation - 21st August, 2016
 Venue: Our adopted campsite Thakurpada Village, Ambernath (E)
 15 NSS volunteers and 2 NSS Programme Officers planted 25 trees at camp
site.

7. BLOOD DONATION CAMP AND THALASSEMIA CHECKUP
 Blood donation and Thalassemia Orientation programme -21st July, 2016
 Venue: V.E.S College of Arts, Science and Commerce with the help of members of Think
Foundation and Rotary Club of Chembur.
 The orientation programme were conducted in every class.
 Around 2000 were benefited from this.
 The Blood donation and Thalassemia Checkup -22nd July,2016, 9th dec. 2016
.Venue:Stilt Area and Saraswati Mandir
 Guest: Raheja blood bank and Indian Red Cross Blood Bank.
 Colllection: 71 in Raheja and 67 blood bottles in Indian Red Cross . Total of 138 Blood bottles
were collected and 395 blood samples were collected in Thalassemia checkup. 30 NSS
volunteers and 6 NSS committee members participated in the event.

9. FOUNDATION DAY
 159th Foundation Day of University of Mumbai was conducted on 18th
July 2016.
 Prof. Sanjay Premchandani and NSS volunteers attented the
programme.

11. SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN
• Swachh Bharat pledge: 3rd, 4th and 8th August 2016 .
• Venue: In college and students contributed money which was
used to buy dustbin for the classes.
• The NSS Volunteers cleaned the dry waste of our college
premises on 1st September 2016.
• Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan Rally and Pledge: AJOBAGAD and at
our camp site THAKURPADA VILLAGE, Ambernath (E).

14. Quit India Movement 2
• Quit India Movement 2 programme: 9th August 2016.
• Venue: Kranti Maidan.

17. NSS Orientation Programme
• NSS orientation programme: 12th August 2016.
• Venue: College Auditorium.
• Around 170 students and all committee members attended the
programme.

19. TIRANGA MARCH
• Tiranga March:22nd August 2016.
• Venue: Sports complex University campus Kalina.

21. Voter’s Drive
• NSS Unit Voters Registration Drive: August 2016
• Venue: NSS room and College Campus.
• Voting awareness rally was conducted from Chembur station
to Diamond garden on 10th February 2016.

22. Organ Donation
• Poster Competition On Organ Donation: 2nd September 2016
• Venue: Stilt Area of the College.
• Judges: Prof. Geetanjali and Prof. Arpita.
• Rally on Organ donation was conducted.

23. GANPATI VISARJAN
• Day: 2nd,5th,and 7th day of visarjan.
• Venue: CHARAI TALAV, CHEMBUR.
• NSS volunteers helped in the smooth conduct of visarjan of the
Idols by managing the crowd and security during the visarjan.
• On 11th day, the volunteers also helped in crowd control near
RK studio.

24. RALLY ON SAVE WATER AND ELECTRICITY
• Rally: 20th September 2016.
• Venue: Adopted Slum Areas Kokan Nagar and Ashok Nagar.
• Participation: 50 NSS volunteers participated in the Rally.

25. NSS DAY CELEBRATION
• NSS Day celebration: 23rd September 2016.
• Venue: College auditorium.
• Programs: Students perform skit, song, and mono acts.
• Guest:Talk on AIDS awareness by Ms. Savita from MDACS.
• Participation: Around 200 students.

26. HEALTH AWARENESS
• Health Awareness Rally: 28th september,2016
• Venue: Ashok Nagar and Konkan Nagar slum area
• Aim: NSS volunteers had SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT
SYMPTOMS AND PREVENTION OF HEALTH DISEASES and they
also did door to door campaigning about the diseases and
many people benefited from this.
• Health awareness exhibition was conducted in our College
Quadrangle on 30th September 2016.

27. RRC ACTIVITIES
• Guest lecture on AIDS AWARENESS
• VENUE : COLLEGE AUDITORIUM on 23rd September 2016.
• Rally on RRC: 23rd November 2016
• Venue: Acharya College.
• Participation: 46 NSS Volunteers participated in the rally.
• Poster competition on Aids Awareness: 28th November 2016.
• Red Ribbon Drive: 17th February 2017 at college campus.

28. CONSTITUTIONAL DAY
• The Constitutional Day: 26th November 2016.
• There was a guest lecture by Mr. Arun Singh on “Preamble
and Fundamental Rights”.

29. SAVE GIRL CHILD
• Poster Making Exhibition On Save Girl Child: 6th
December 2016.
• Students also performed skit on save girl child.
• Save Girl Child Rally was conducted by the NSS
Volunteers in the Slum Areas.

30. ROAD SAFETY
• ROAD SAFETY RALLY :22nd December 2016
• Posters were made by the NSS Volunteers.

31. WORLD DISABILITY DAY
• World Disability Day: 3rd December 2016.
• Venue: AV Room.

32. NSS Residential Camp
• NSS Camp: 20th October 2016- 26th October 2016.
• Venue: Shibir Maidan, Amberneth (E).
• Theme: Swachh Bharat.
• 65 NSS volunteers attended the camp.
• Activities: Shramdaan, PT, Yoga, Meditation, etc..
• Skit: Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Save Girl Child.
• Debate: Women empowerment and NSS.
• Visited: Parle G factory, NAB, Fire Brigade, Thakurpada.
• Lectures: AndhaShraddha Nirmulan, Environmental Awareness,
Leadership development and Goal Settings, etc.

34. FACULTY ACTIVITIES
• On 10th August,2016 Prof. Sanjay Premchandani was a Guest Speaker of Orientation Programme
for NSS Volunteers in Laxmichand Golwala College of Commerce and Economics, Ghatkopar(E).
• On 15th August 2016 Prof. Sanjay Premchandani was a guest speaker on the occasion of LTP Camp
Organised by University of Mumbai for NSS Volunteers in Kalina University.
• On 2nd October, 2016 and 3rd December 2016; Bhajan Sandhya was attended by Prof. Sanjay
Premchandani.
• On 29th November 2016, Prof. Sanjay Premchandani attended the NSS Residential camp of KJ
Somaiya college and delivered lecture which was in Nareshwadi, Dhanu.
• On 16th December 2016, Prof. Sanjay Premchandani visited the NSS Residential Camp of Gurukul
College which was in Bhivali Gaon, Ganeshpuri, Bhiwandi.
