2. Are you male or female? The most popular result for gender, whom filled out my questionnaire was female, therefore my questionnaire could be seen as biased as there is more females than males, however I have took all results into consideration to make my music video suitable for both genders.
3. What age group do you fit into? 16-24 was the most popular age group therefore my music video will be most suitable for teenagers and people in there early 20’s as they will enjoy it more and it will relate to them.
4. What genre of music do you prefer to listen to? There was a selection of different genres of music people preferred, the most popular result was indie and then pop. To begin withI choseto do a pop music video for my music video, this is due to me preferring a pop love song as my ideas for my video footage suits a pop song instead of an indie song. However I later changed to a more indie genre, this is due to I did not want my music video to be like ‘everybody else’s’. I wanted more of an upbeat song that people will enjoy, as I believe these songs are more successful.
5. How often do you watch music videos? The most common result for how often my audience watched music videos was daily. This I expected as the majority of my audience are the younger population, (teenagers), and they tend to listen and watch music videos much more frequently.
6. In what way do you prefer to watch and listen to music videos? The most common way of watching and listening to music videos was the television, the second most popular was the internet. Television and internet are what most people would have in their homes, and both technologies provide everything you will need to find, watch, listen or purchase things such as music videos.
7. Where would be an appropriate place to film a music video? There were a variety of places to film a music video, the most unpopular place was a graveyard, I think a graveyard suits a horror genre rather than a music video, the city centre is a good place however is very busy so could be difficult to film, the most popular result was Lilfod woods, this is a quiet and good place to film because of the scenery. I will also use my college as it fits with the genre.
8. What is your ideal story line for a song? Love, Friendship, Breakup are the main representatives of a song. Love is the most popular and I believe it could have many stories and ideas to film. I have decided to use a love song however it combines with something different, an illness and loss. This gives the music video a different twist to the usual love song.
9. What do you think the most important part of a music video is ? There are many different parts that make a successful music video. My audience believe the most important is the location and song. Due to this, I am careful to pick the right location, and I have changed my song to something that was quite slow and all about love o something more of a beat with a twist to the usual love song. This I believe will make my video more successful.
10. Do you prefer to listen to music that relates to you? The majority of my audience’s perspectives are they prefer to listen to music that relates to them and they can understand. This I think is important as it can reach out to the target audience, and they are more likely to listen and buy the songs they enjoy that they believe could be about them. Therefore I have a song that could relate to 2 different perspectives. Those going through an illness and those caring for someone and love them that it puts them in pain. Furthermore, it has the genre of love which the majority of people in the world will relate to at some point in their life.
11. What is your favourite music video and please state why? There are different types of songs y audience prefer for many reasons, some are pop, some are indie, some are RNB. This shows my audience have a variety of genres and song they prefer, I have many choices to decide what my music video genre will be representing.
