Explain How The Military Techniques Used To Keep The Roman...
The Roman Emperors used many different strategies as ways to keep the empire in control and safe.
To prevent riots within the empire and attacks from outside of it, they utilized their army and roads,
natural and manmade borders, strict Roman laws and even their circuses and bread as ways to keep
the Roman Empire strong. It was these 4 points that kept the empire thriving for as long as it did.
The Roman Army was an extremely skilled and powerful force that almost never was defeated. Their
incredibly good fighting techniques helped with the control and safety of the empire. To keep order in
the empire they had a civil guard maintaining peace. They dealt with less threatening affairs while the
Roman legions and auxilia suppressed higher level rioting and rebellion. The Romans were highly
skilled when it came to battles, and even though their weapons were not significantly better than their
enemies they were highly disciplined. The army was organised in a very simple way, they would be
split into groups in equal amounts with a leader or commander. Roads that the Romans designed were
essential to keep the empire safe. Over the course of 700 years, they built more than 55,000 miles of
highways throughout Europe. They built these roads to link the conquered empires and establish them
as colonies. Another reason roads were built was because it reduced marching fatigue and travel time
for the Roman Army and they were able to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The borders the Romans made included structures such as Hadrians Wall (built in 122 A.D.) which

Rhine, Sahara Desert and the Swiss Alps. These natural protectors of threats from outside the borders

Bright Lights, Big City And White Noise
Comparison Paper: Bright Lights, Big City and White Noise
Bright Lights, Big City
Bright Lights, Big City, is an American narrative, by Jay Mclnerney. The narrative is among America s
most notable novels, presented in the second person. In the book, Mclnerney presents the narrator as a
worker for highbrow magazine. He depicts the narrator as party maniac, and cocaine user, who intends
to literally lose himself in the profligacy (hedonism), of the yuppie party scene (McInerney 213). The
narrator frequented Heartbreak , a preeminent nightclub in New York City. Amanda, the narrator s
wife opted to walk out on him, after establishing her modelling career in Paris. The narrator lived in
denial. He opted to assume his wife s departure, and live as if nothing had change. He lived in the
hope that his wife would return (McInerney 343). Nonetheless, the narrator opted to search for his
wife at her fashion events. He was overly fixated on his wife s memory, where he obsessed on her
possessions, her modelling pictures, and a dummy based on her. Overtime, his incongruous lifestyle
influenced his career. Progressively, the narrator became overly disillusioned, and fixated on his wife,
and the acquisitive New York culture. White Noise
White Noise, a book by Don DeLillo, is among America s most remarkable works categorized under
postmodernism literature. The book gives a picturesque description of Jack Gladney (the protagonist),

How Being A Single Mom Influenced My Life
Influenced Heart
For as long as I can remember my was always there for me. Deep down I honestly feel like she
molded me for my future. She made me who I am today by teaching me responsibility, finances and
life struggles. She never bothered to hide the cruelty of the real world.
First of all, if I look back I can always remember my mother teaching me responsibility. As early as
six years young my mom would sit down with me every night when she got home and go over my
homework to make sure it was done. I also remember her telling me constantly to take responsibility
for my actions. For example, when I was in highschool I brought cough tablets to school. My friend
was carrying my book bag when they searched her and found them. When I heard about it I stepped
forward and took responsibility for them and I ended up not getting in trouble because of my honesty.
From that moment forward I knew my mother had really raised me amazingly. Giving me the tools I
needed to be successful in life.
In addition to her teaching me respect she also expressed finances to me. My mother always would a
way o tell me about finances. Being a single mom it was hard raising three girls on her own. She
shopped smart and found ways to let us be involved. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

when life happens it just happens. For example I remember one time we got a flat tire and we didn t

Epilepsy Is A Central Nervous System Disorder ( Cns )
Introduction
Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder(CNS) causing recurrent seizures and can only be defined
when there is at least one epileptic seizure.[1][2] John Hughlings Jackson, a notable British
neurologist proposed that epilepsy is an occasional, an excessive and a disorderly discharge of nervous
tissue . About 65 million people(1% of the human population) in the world have epilepsy and the
cases account for 80% in developing countries. [3][4] In this essay, the normal physiology of nerve
transmission in cerebral cortex and pathophysiology of epilepsy will be discussed. The mechanism of
action of valproate is also studied and how it leads to the treatment of epilepsy.
Normal Physiology of Nerve Tranmission in Cerebral Cortex
The body system that is affected by epilepsy is CNS which is consisted of the brain and the spinal
cord.[5] (Figure 1) Figure 1 The major divsions of CNS[5]
The brain has a part called the cerebral cortex(gray matter) which is made up of 3 to 6 layers of
neurons.[7] A neuron has three parts namely axon, dendrites and cell body.[6] Neurons are classified
as principal(projection) neurons and interneurons. Principal neurons transmit information to other
neurons in the brain and form excitatory synapses. Interneurons in the CNS transmit impulses locally
and form inhibitory synapse.[7] Two common types of pathways for these neurons include recurrent
feedback pathways and feed forward pathways.[9](Figure 2) `

Matt Barrett s Athens Survival Guide
According to Matt Barrett s Athens Survival Guide , in the 1789, when the Ottoman Empire is mixed
up in the war in Europe and Napoleon decided to invade Egypt, Thomas Bruce who was the Earl of
Elgin at the time, decided to travel to Athens to acquire sketches and molds of the famous sculptures.
He believed that by doing so, the culture of England would improve and her people would grow
Enlightened just looking at the impressive Greek works of art. Lord Elgin, who probably had a second
motive for obtaining these sketches, was also encouraged return with these molds and sketches so that
the architect of his new large home could have some inspiration in the designing. Regardless of Lord
Elgin s motivations, he accepted a position of ambassador with England and left to visit Greece with
specific instructions to remove the French from the areas that were part of the Ottoman Empire as well
as to watch for new deals and trades to assist England. Lord Elgin worked as an Ambassador for a few
years and though he grew sicker while living there, as well as losing his nose to a severe skin disease,
he continued in his works to acquire the sketches and molds of the sculptures in Athens and had no
desire nor thought to actually take any of the original marble pieces. The craftsman and sculptures of
the Parthenon was designed built between 447 and 438 BC but was destroyed when lightning struck

Florence Nightingale Impact In Nursing
Whether in acute care settings, global health care programs or community health organizations, nurses
rely on significant one on one time with their patients. By doing so, they gain a better understanding
of how to provide the kind of care that meets a patient s individual needs and comfort standards. This
patient centered care stems from Nightingale, who continues to have a major influence on the nursing
field today. Florence transformed nursing in London when she got back in Crimea war, She had access
to people in high places and she used it to get things done. Florence was stubborn, opinionated and
forthright but she had to be those things in order to achieve all that she did. In the 1870s, Nightingale
established nursing education by writing the first textbook on the subject in 1960; entitled Notes of
Nursing in her writing, she emphasized the importance of patient observation to figure out their
symptoms and needs, as to be able to provide the right care; Nightingale mentored Linda Richards, ...

She developed the first modern hospital nursing, pharmacy, laundry, and nutrition services. Her
meticulous recordkeeping was the forerunner of today s medical records and epidemiology functions.
She established the principle that triage should be based on medical need and not status, rank or
religion. And while she was obviously a compassionate caregiver, she was also a tough minded
manager who calculated and then reduced cost per patient day. Nightingale was history s first and
most effective advocate for the healthcare rights of soldiers and veterans; and of course she was the
guiding light for the first professional school of nursing. Her book Notes on Nursing was the first
manifesto for patient centered care, and her book Notes on Hospitals influenced hospital design well

Beautiful Mind Diagnosis
Synopsis
I watched A Beautiful Mind for this project. The movie is based on the real life experiences of John
Nash. The film begins with Nash arriving at Princeton University for his first year. We are introduced
to many of the main characters in the first few minutes of the film. We meet his enemy, who Nash
believes he is smarter that, and his roommate who drinks too much but is always there as a helping
hand for John. As Nash begins his collegiate career we begin to see some early symptoms of his
disorder. Nash is a gifted math student obsessed with finding a new way to predict patterns. He studies
pigeons, his classmates as they play football outside his dorm window, and even the way his
classmates talk to women at the bar. We see Nash ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The friend looked like he was fearful of John and what he might do. Many times people viewed Nash
as dangerous and insane. Most of the characters carried a negative attitude toward mental illness in
general, except for John s wife Alicia. She is supportive and wants John to get better so he can get
back to being the man she married . Alicia s attitude toward his mental illness was understanding and
supportive, while also pushing him to get better. The mental health professional in this movie is Dr.
Rosen, who is only seen a few times in the whole movie. He is portrayed as a reasonable, logical man
who is only there to help. Hyler s stereotypes of mental illness can be applied to this movie also.
Instead of Nash and his disorder portraying him as a homicidal manic or the like, Nash was portrayed
as another stereotype of Hyler s that is rarely depicted in modern films, the enlightened member of
society. Nash is the enlightened member of society who envisions great things and appears to be a
well balanced individual, even with his delusions at the beginning of the movie. This stereotype
contradicts our usual view of individuals with mental

The Consequences Of Revenge And Love In Shakespeare s Othello
William Shakespeare s tragic drama Othello focuses on the downfall and tragedy of its main
characters. An extract from another one of Shakespeare s tragedies goes by, To thine own self be true,
which relates to the themes and characters of Othello as seen through the literary approaches
psychoanalysis and Marxism. Through the characterisation of Iago, Desdemona and Othello, he is
able to connect plays with the themes of revenge, jealousy and love. The tragedy of Othello is
inevitable due to the consequences of its characters staying truthful to themselves or changing
progressively.
Iago s steadfast malicious intentions arising from his thoughts of revenge and jealousy is constant
throughout the play, giving an insight on his sincerity to himself. Due to his incapability of enabling
his own promotion and the ineffectiveness of gaining his wife s affection, the audience is able to read
Iago through the lens of psychoanalysis as he spends the entire plays striving to become influential to
atone for his fragility. Although Iago is observant enough to recognise his enemies as having
compensating features, The Moor, howbeit that I endure him not, is of a constant, loving, noble nature,
this does not halt Iago s desire to bring them down. The jealousy originates from the promotion of
Cassio to lieutenant so he is endeavouring to take revenge on both Othello and him. In his soliloquy,
Shakespeare alternates from prose to a verse style of writing, which displays his chaotic

Miletus Research Paper
While under the Persian influence around 525 BC Miletus reorganized its constitution. Miletus will
have an annual magistrate called the Aisymuetes or president. They will serve as the chief priest at the
temple of Apollo of Didyma. They will also have the official called the Molpoi or psalmist. This is the
group where the presidents were elected from. They were assisted by three officials called the
associates. These three were elected biennially from the six tribes. Miletus also had the subordinate
official called the Ouitadue. Ag p. 151 2 In 520 BC the power was retained under the control of

After being repopulated, the people of Miletus restored the old constitution. They changed a few
things like abolishing the associates with their jobs being taken over by other officials. They also
started the business of religious matters again at Didyma at the temple of Apollo. They continued to
divide the population into the six tribes. It became strong enough to play a role later in the fifth
century in the struggle for Greece between Athens and Sparta. Athens had Miletus join into the Delian
League, but they were still too weak to contribute partly due to the destruction of the city. Miletus also
faced internal political conflict and Athens became involved in the situation. Athens supported the
upper class to continue to rule rather than a democracy which is what Athens used to rule its city state.
However, this upper class of rulers started to take advantage of the workers causing more tension. The
oligarchs revolted from Athens and massacred their opponents. By 442 at the latest Athens put down
the revolt and established a democratic government on the Athenian model. Gs Pg 398 After they
created some stability, they appointed a commission of five to revise and change the constitution of
Miletus. The appointed commission of five followed the structure and order of the Athenian form of
government. They had a council with superior magistrates called wardens. They also had assistant
magistrates called colleagues. The Psalmist

Fate In The Monkey s Paw By W. Jacobs
Fate cannot be tamed and anyone who tries to modify their fate does so to their sorrow. This is the
main theme that is exemplified in the short work of fiction The Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs. Jacobs
successfully creates characters who eventually learn the lesson about fate. Mr. and Mrs. White, the
main characters, are visited late one night by a fakir who gives them a monkey s paw that could grant
3 wishes. But, before the fakir leaves, he warns the Whites, if they use the paw, to wish for something
sensible (Jacobs 27). Not only does this create foreshadowing, but it also generates conflict between
the Whites as to whether or not to use the paw and what to wish for. The author uses the responses of
the characters to this conflict, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A terrified and grief stricken Mrs. White acts impulsively, trying to get her son back. She ultimately
grabs the paw from where it had been discarded, lying forlornly on the kitchen table, and uses another
wish to get her son back (Jacobs 33). Awhile later, the Whites hear knocking and realize that the paw
has worked again. Mrs. White rushes to the door, while Mr. White hangs back. Mr. White realizes
almost too late that whatever is behind the door might not be his son. So, Mr. White quickly grabs the
paw and wishes away whatever was behind the door. The door then swings open to reveal no one.
Mrs. White, once again grief stricken, runs outside to the quiet and deserted road and the story ends
with the sounds of her anguished cries cutting through the night (Jacobs 34). This, once again, is an
example of how the characters reactions help to build to the theme. The Whites certainly get what they
wished for, but not in the way in which they want it.
The reactions of the Whites help to build the story and specifically help to exemplify the theme. The
Whites ultimately find out twice that fate has its own plan. They messed with fate and instead, found
out that by messing with their fates they ultimately turned their happiness into sorrow. By obtaining
the monkey s paw, they lost their only son due to the first wish and used the second and third wishes
carelessly and by the end of the story, they were grief stricken and hopeless. They eventually learned
the lesson that for every wish, there is a price to

Essay On Fourier Analysis
In numerical analysis, explicit and implicit approaches are used to obtain numerical approximations of
time dependent ordinary and partial differential equations. Fractional order differential equations are
used widely for finance market analysis. Implicit solution methods require more computational efforts
and are complex to program. In order to overcome these difficulties, explicit method for fractional
order differential equation has been introduced which is one of the most recently developed areas in
the world of finance. The main aim of this paper is to investigate stability of Fractional Explicit
method for qth order time fractional Black Schols equation by the well known Fourier analysis
method and a numerical experiment is presented for comparison of European call option prices for

The Importance Of The Emancipation Proclamation
This government cannot endure, permanently, half slave and half free . Most of the Americans agree
that Abraham Lincoln was one of the best presidents that our country had. There are many reasons
why Emancipation Proclamation changed the civil war on a liberation of slaves. In order to better
understand and appreciate the Emancipation Proclamation, one must examine its content, importance
to the past because the slaves were free and they could work, had their own money and they were not
owned by anyone. And continuing importance today because African American have the right to
education, they can assist to the same stores, school, restaurants and hospitals. Now, all people in the
country are equal. Abraham Lincoln, a lawyer, congressman, and was the 16th president of the United
States. Lincoln was opposed to slavery and had a better plan to grow United States with commerce
instead of agriculture. In brief, when Lincoln was inaugurated as president in March 1861, seven
southern states separated from the country s union and they formed the Confederate States because
they wanted to continue with slavery. This was the time when the civil war began. Abraham Lincoln
surprised many people because he was a war leader, learned strategies and knew how to choose the
best commanders. Later to try to end the civil war, Lincoln issued a document Emancipation
Proclamation. Which took effect on January 1, 1863 in the document said that all slaves were free.
Abraham Lincoln demonstrated that he wanted the union of all the states and all people had equality .
On September 22, 1862, president Abraham Lincoln, made the preliminary Emancipation
Proclamation which contained the following; On January 1, 1863, all the slaves of any states will be
from now and forever free. The executive government of the United States, military, naval authority,
will recognize and support the freedom of African Americans and they do not have to do anything to
take away their freedom. All slaves lived in the Confederate States of America will be free. I,

Research Project On Global Solar Radiation

in the project was putting together data from the internet data base. Also, actual meteorological data
requests for the sites under study were made but no respond. Hence, developed forecast models data
base to put together the data needed for the study.
1.1 Data Source and Sorting
Meteorological parameter data for four regional towns in PNG were collected for this study. In
addition, geographical locations and each sites geometrical standard parameters were calculated using
formulas used by [43] in developing empirical solar radiation prediction models. Global solar
radiation (GRS) data were obtained from National Aeronautics ... Show more content on

A combine total of 19,240 data for the four regional sites were supposed to be sampled for the neural
network training (including the leap days). However, substantial amount of missing daily mean data
were observed for each site. Table 1 summarizes the breakup of data sample used for this project..
All the data were sorted into daily and monthly mean as inputs for training, testing and validation,
with solar radiation as target output data. The 2016 meteorological data (January to September) were
sample data used for training and predicting solar radiation.
In data pre processing, the raw data is normalized to remove the outliers and inaccurate data in the
hope of achieving good results. Several statistical procedures are used in this purpose as highlighted
by [38, 39]. However, in order to fully appreciate the importance and reliability of ANN in actually
predicting solar radiation without using normalized or pre processed data, it was necessary to use the
primary data [48]. The dates that had no recordings, that is missing data, blanks, errors, and zeros were
deleted with their corresponding rows of values [40].
The four regional sites have varying seasonal weather patterns, therefore it was important that to
improve the reliability of the ANN training output, geographical information of the locations had to be
included in the models. Similar studies

Chapter 11 Georgia Country
11 Georgia Country
Well, I caught myself a looking down alongside the creek, and that s when I found it! Charity, who
was busy with the baby, heard Charles telling Uriah excitedly.
Found what? What did you find, Charles? asked Charity, turning to look in his direction. She was
curious as to what had him so excited. He was surrounded by his brothers and sisters, each trying to
scrooch closer to him, to get a better look at what he held.
This! Charles exclaimed happily, holding a clay pot and several arrow heads up where she could see
them. The pot looked nearly perfect, from the distance she was from him.
Bring it over here where I can look at it.
As she held the pot and turned it in her hands she could see that it was in near perfect ... Show more

Meanwhile, several counties over, Henry was about to get into some mischief, of his own. The last
name had been drawn out of the hat, and again, he had failed to make the cut. This was the third
county he d gone to, with no luck. He was growing more and more discouraged. He felt that he was
letting his family down. When the grizzled old man offered him a drink of whiskey, he took the jug
and swigged down several big gulps. Henry had never before imbibed spirits; the hot liquid sliding
down his throat and into his stomach felt good. And, after several more large swigs, so did Henry!
He and the old man sat and drank for the greater part of the afternoon. Henry drank, bemoaning the
fact that he still had not been drawn in the land lottery, and the old man, just thankful for some

The Rule of Law Essay
The rule of law is a difficult concept to grasp and proves elusive to substantive definition. However,
the following work considers the attempts of various social and legal theorists to define the concept
and pertinent authorities are considered. Attitudes and emphasis as to the exact shape, form and
content of the rule of law differ quite widely depending on the socio political perspective and views of
respective commentators (Slapper and Kelly, 2009, p16), although there are common themes that are
almost universally adopted. The conclusions to this work endeavour to consolidate thinking on the
rule of law in order to address the question posed in the title, which is at first sight a deceptively
simple one. The rule of law Modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Slapper and Kelly postulate that: the rule of law represents a symbolic ideal against which the
proponents of widely divergent political persuasions measures and criticise the shortcomings of
contemporary State practice. (Slapper and Kelly, 2009, p15) These commentators concede that the
concept lacks precision and that its meaning changes over time. Noted legal philosopher Joseph Raz
accepted the necessity for State intervention in society and suggests that the rule of law is essentially a
means of controlling, limiting and shaping the exercise of discretion in this intervention, rather than
seeking to abolish it entirely (Raz, 1977, p195). Raz clearly appreciated the risks associated with the
arbitrary and uncontrolled exercise of discretionary power and envisaged the principle of the rule of
law as the primary safeguard against that threat. Many other writers appear to share the opinion
expressed by Raz that the raison d être of the rule of law is to control the exercise of discretion,
including Dicey, Hayek and Thompson, and to a lesser extent Unger and Weber. Dicey, for example,
in his highly influential magnum opus, An Introduction to the Study of the Law of the Constitution,
suggested that the rule of law is composed of three distinct and specific, but indivisible elements
(Dicey, 1885, p179 201). These are: 1. An absence of arbitrary power in the hands of the State; 2. The
supremacy of ordinary

1. Raised bed gardening has many advantages, especially when gardening in an urban setting. They
allow for better quality soil, more plants per square foot, and less weeding due to a denser canopy
(especially if the soil added to beds is weed free). Working of the soil and garden maintenance are less
strenuous due to the added height of the beds, but usually have to be done by hand. Beds are most
often made of untreated lumber, cinder blocks, or plastic. This type of garden can be ideal for areas
were children or the elderly want to help with upkeep, as the beds are more accessible. Another added
benefit is the ability to adjust the soil or watering habit to a particular set of crops to improve yields. If

John Barry Accomplishments
From captaining the American Navy s most prized frigates to being a man every sailor could actively
interact with, John Barry established himself to be an exceptional naval leader and hero. He guided his
ships and sailors through many successful battles which were key in the establishment of the
American Navy. Despite his great influence, Barry never put his personal interests in front of the Navy
s, and his dedication to the service centuries ago created the dominant Navy and Marine Corps team
present today. Because he was an expert and popular mariner, a focused individual, and a naval
visionary, John Barry was able to earn the title of Father of the American Navy.
There are many skills that naval officers in Barry s age required. They all needed to navigate,
communicate, and perform other tasks essential to their position. Barry excelled in these areas, but he
also went far beyond. He was very popular among his seamen. The interaction he had with his sailors

States in the Quasi War, Barry established a naval academy on board his ship. The make shift academy
helped to prepare future naval officers, and it produced many notable officers. Barry s experience
allowed him to see the potential for sailors. In 1776, he recruited Richard Dale to join the Navy as a
midshipman. Dale was a part of the Loyalists, but Barry saw potential for him to transform into a great
officer for the American fleet. Barry was right; Dale himself became a great leader. Barry s vision for

Persuasive Essay On Tax Reform
REPUBLICANS AIM to unveil Wednesday a long awaited tax plan, premised on the fanciful idea that
slashing taxes by $1.5 trillion over 10 years will somehow leave the federal budget better off. And it is
not just the GOP s most blinkered ideologues who have bought into this wishful thinking.
I think at the end of the day this will actually be reducing the deficit because it s going to finally get
this economy moving, Sen. Rob Portman (R Ohio) said Sunday on Meet the Press. In a sentence, Mr.
Portman erased much of the credibility he developed while decrying deficits during the Obama years
or running the White House Office of Management and Budget during the George W. Bush
presidency.
Sen. Susan Collins (R Maine), one of the few moderate Republicans left in Congress, was hardly more
responsible. If we have just four tenths of 1 percent increase in our [gross domestic product], which is
entirely realistic, it will cover the cost of the tax reform package, she claimed. In fact, those growth
numbers cannot be assumed, and betting the federal budget on hopes of loads of new revenue is highly
risky. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tax Policy Center concluded that cutting the corporate tax rate, encouraging business investment
and enhancing incentives to work would each encourage economic expansion modestly. The extra
growth would result in maybe $50 billion in new federal revenue over 10 years. To secure these small
economic gains and that tiny revenue bump, Republicans would cut taxes by well over a trillion
dollars, leaving a massive hole in the budget. Over time, the negative consequences of higher federal
borrowing would be a serious drag on the

The Importance Of Security In War
The Jaish al Mahdi understood and exploited U.S. public opinion. This incident demonstrated that
adversaries can achieve success by conducting influence operations. China identifies cyberspace as a
key domain to project power and dominance. Chinese military strategists believe that information
operations are directly linked to success or defeat in war and priority should be given to launching
preemptive attacks. In 2005, China infiltrated numerous secure government systems and successfully
retrieved more than ten terabytes of data. The following year, China attacked a total of forty nine U.S.
companies and government agencies. A number of those companies were involved in the production
of the F 35 and other classified military weapons. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The principles within the strategy can be linked to information as an instrument of national power.
However, existing U.S. strategies have three shortfalls: 1) scope (addressing all dimensions in the
information environment), 2) deterrence (defining acts of war), and 3) whole of nation approach. The
first shortfall is that the scope must be broader. U.S. strategies sufficiently address threats to the
physical and informational dimensions within the information environment. However, the U.S. lacks a
strategy that identifies challenges and threats in the cognitive dimension within the information
environment. Adversaries, such as ISIS, are effectively utilizing influence campaigns to advance their
agenda by manipulation of the values, perceptions, and beliefs of the U.S. public and other target
audiences. Information, or misinformation, is a primary means to shape global opinions. The U.S.
continues to yield the initiative in influence operations and function in a reactionary capacity. Strategic
communication messaging to enhance U.S. credibility and legitimacy have been slow and at times
ineffective. The behavior data generated through social media has enabled researchers to understand
groups, globally making it easier to spread and

involves taking extreme risks in order to achieve this illegal act. Whether or not this act should be
allowed is widely debated between characters. The viewpoints on the matter from characters
Antigone, Ismene, Creon, and The Chorus provide detailed explanations on each of their opinions
about burial and loyalty.
Going against the written rules, Antigone (sister of Ismene) believes her late brother should receive a
proper burial. To Antigone there is no other option but burial, her passion on the subject is what started
the argument with her sister Ismene. Despite being her sister, Ismene is very different and shares
complete opposite views on the matter than Antigone. Ismene initially thought Antigone would want
to keep her plan to bury him private, Ismene did not fully understand how devoted Antigone is to
orchestrating this burial ceremony. Antigone s intentions became clear to the reader and Ismene when
she stated Shout it from the rooftops. I ll hate you all the more for silence tell the world! (Lines ...

if it is near the end of the day I will tell myself that it is not until later, so I do not need to worry about
it right now. It usually helps to do this, but when I was younger I could not do it myself. My mom
used to tell me these things and it would calm my nerves somewhat. I eventually picked up on how to
believe myself when I try it on my own and now I can keep myself calm. If that does not work I tell
others, such as my mom or friends, and they usually help. It may be really annoying to them to hear
me complain about how I really do not want to do a presentation, or how I am scared because it is
mentioned constantly. When none of this works I try to take matters into my own hands. If I am able

My Leadership Style Analysis
This week I take on Ohio as I learn to grow as a leader.
Today a lot of the things we talked about really hit home with me, and I actually cried in a room full of
strangers as I told them my story and why I chose to be a leader.
But today we talked about resilience. We defined resilience as:
The process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of
stress.
This definition really spoke to me. I have been facing this day after day ever since April, and today we
had a lady talk to us about it for 2 hours, but it felt like it was only seconds. She helped me to realize
that I am not alone, that I have other sisters out there that are fighting, if not the same battle, one that

I definitely relate to these characteristics way more... Most of the time they all occur at once.
To fold up into yourself is basically when you look at people and just say I can t with you right now.
You hide away, turn off your phone, turn off all communication with the outside world, and basically
just become one with your bed... and maybe a bag of taco bell. With my depression, I am guilty of this
a lot. People try to talk to me and then I get in trouble because I get irritated that they won t just leave
me alone with myself for a bit... That s often when I storm off. You just hit that point where you ve
had enough and you just need to run away from all your responsibilities. This was comforting to hear
from someone else, because I was starting to worry that maybe part of my three year old self had held
onto parts of my brain. Next is to blame others. You don t want to accept that you have done wrong or
that you have messed up, so you start putting the blame on other people. Next, you require total
control. In a leadership role, sometimes you feel like you have lost control of a situation, so you try to
regain control by taking all of it. You shut people out, and you tell them that you don t need their help.
As a bit of a control freak, like I said, I am very guilty of this. As I come into contact with more and
more leaders on campus, I have learned to step back and just observe situations and let other people
handle them. I have

Child Labor In Oliver Twist By Charles Dickens
Do you enjoy being young and privileged? Do you enjoy being able to play as much as you want?
How does it feel, not having spend your childhood working in a factory? You have the chance to live
freely, be a kid, go places, hangout with your friends, etc. Unfortunately, life wasn t that easy in the
victorian period.
In the Victorian Period, the workforce and the economy gained profit off of child labor. Most kids
were forced into child labor during the Victorian Period. Other kids had to help take care of their
families. The government allowed child labor because it brought success into the economy.
Children had tons of energy, they were susceptible, or gullible, and they lacked the ability to revolt
against injustices (child labor).

experience.
In Oliver Twist, Dickens wrote The deep remembrance ............. of the misery it was to my young

In a biography journal about Dickens, a passage states that His early life is a current element in most
of his novels. The bitter experiences of his childhood helped him to empathize his topics. The main
problems Dickens mentioned in Oliver Twist were the deplorable conditions of children in the

Unions Struggle With Outsourcing
POSSIBLE INTRODUCTION Today Unions have a feud with outsourcing, the union employees are
losing their once thought secure job to outsourcing. This is due to a company s drive to increase
profits, decisions of lower wage and job loss occurs. When a US company s looks for other options of
employment, it usually come down to outsourcing, subcontracting, and privatization, these options
that companies take to increase profit. Union job security isn t always so secure, often union contracts
discuss the effects outsourcing, but not make the decision to layoff an employee in favor of
outsourcing. However this contract makes union workers bargain over their jobs, by lowering their
wages and if they do not agree with the bargain then the companies are able to layoff employee, and
replaces them with outsourcing. Unions are able to fight these companies for an agreement to be
made, for instance, if a union as a whole decides to agree with these new terms of lower wages, the
company is unable to let the employees go. Instead the unions will agree to terms with their jobs being
taken away and sent overseas, unions often lobby to retaliate their termination. US LOBBYING The

Dichotomy In Do The Right Thing
Do The Right Thing, directed by Spike Lee is a film that acts as a call to action for the audience to
differentiate what doing the right thing actually means. New York City in 1989 was filled with issues
of race and class. Crime rates were high and one of the highest recorded in history only second to the
preceding year of 1990. Cases like the central park five where african american youths and other
minorities were falsely accused of crimes, caused for unjust views of the justice system designed to
protect these people as opposed to persecuting the innocent in the most blatant and obvious ways.

Malcolm s approach to racial injustices is that the solution is violence with violence. While MLK s
perspective is one of peace and assembly. This film uses those contrasting community pillars to once
again beg the question of what the right thing is in a situation that asks an individual to choose. This
major subtext part of the film are prime examples of duality and dichotomy. Malcolm X is known for
his radical and violent views during the racist culture during the time of the civil rights movement

The Nixon Administration And The Vietnam War
One of the many challenges the Nixon administration faced, was the Vietnam War. He realized that
this war wasn t going anywhere, and that the American people were not as gung ho for the war like
they were before his presidency. With that in mind, Nixon introduced the topic of Vietnamization .
(Wikipedia) He introduced this topic in his May 14, 1969 speech and also introduced it in his letter to
Ho Chi Minh. (Document A) Vietnamization was basically a plan to get Americans out of Vietnam.
Nixon wanted to stop the deaths of American soldiers because he saw that this war wasn t going to be
won. During Vietnamization, American soldiers were to train the South Vietnamese soldiers on how to
fight and, at the same time, remove American troops from Vietnam. In Nixon s letter to Ho Chi Minh,
Nixon talks about a just peace . Minh responds to Nixon s call for a just peace by stating that peace
will happen, and the Vietnamese people want peace to happen, but the United States continues to
intensify its military operations . Minh also responds with the only way that peace will happen in
Vietnam is when the United States withdraws their troops and allows the South Vietnamese to fight
with out foreign influence . (Document A) In terms of the United States, the Nixon administration
ended the war between Vietnam and the U.S. The Nixon administration was involved in what is called

  • 2. Explain How The Military Techniques Used To Keep The Roman... The Roman Emperors used many different strategies as ways to keep the empire in control and safe. To prevent riots within the empire and attacks from outside of it, they utilized their army and roads, natural and manmade borders, strict Roman laws and even their circuses and bread as ways to keep the Roman Empire strong. It was these 4 points that kept the empire thriving for as long as it did. The Roman Army was an extremely skilled and powerful force that almost never was defeated. Their incredibly good fighting techniques helped with the control and safety of the empire. To keep order in the empire they had a civil guard maintaining peace. They dealt with less threatening affairs while the Roman legions and auxilia suppressed higher level rioting and rebellion. The Romans were highly skilled when it came to battles, and even though their weapons were not significantly better than their enemies they were highly disciplined. The army was organised in a very simple way, they would be split into groups in equal amounts with a leader or commander. Roads that the Romans designed were essential to keep the empire safe. Over the course of 700 years, they built more than 55,000 miles of highways throughout Europe. They built these roads to link the conquered empires and establish them as colonies. Another reason roads were built was because it reduced marching fatigue and travel time for the Roman Army and they were able to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The narrative is among America s most notable novels, presented in the second person. In the book, Mclnerney presents the narrator as a worker for highbrow magazine. He depicts the narrator as party maniac, and cocaine user, who intends to literally lose himself in the profligacy (hedonism), of the yuppie party scene (McInerney 213). The narrator frequented Heartbreak , a preeminent nightclub in New York City. Amanda, the narrator s wife opted to walk out on him, after establishing her modelling career in Paris. The narrator lived in denial. He opted to assume his wife s departure, and live as if nothing had change. He lived in the hope that his wife would return (McInerney 343). Nonetheless, the narrator opted to search for his wife at her fashion events. He was overly fixated on his wife s memory, where he obsessed on her possessions, her modelling pictures, and a dummy based on her. Overtime, his incongruous lifestyle influenced his career. Progressively, the narrator became overly disillusioned, and fixated on his wife, and the acquisitive New York culture. She made me who I am today by teaching me responsibility, finances and life struggles. She never bothered to hide the cruelty of the real world. First of all, if I look back I can always remember my mother teaching me responsibility. As early as six years young my mom would sit down with me every night when she got home and go over my homework to make sure it was done. I also remember her telling me constantly to take responsibility for my actions. For example, when I was in highschool I brought cough tablets to school. My friend was carrying my book bag when they searched her and found them. When I heard about it I stepped forward and took responsibility for them and I ended up not getting in trouble because of my honesty. From that moment forward I knew my mother had really raised me amazingly. Giving me the tools I needed to be successful in life. In addition to her teaching me respect she also expressed finances to me. My mother always would a way o tell me about finances. Being a single mom it was hard raising three girls on her own. • 5. Epilepsy Is A Central Nervous System Disorder ( Cns ) Introduction Epilepsy is a central nervous system disorder(CNS) causing recurrent seizures and can only be defined when there is at least one epileptic seizure.[1][2] John Hughlings Jackson, a notable British neurologist proposed that epilepsy is an occasional, an excessive and a disorderly discharge of nervous tissue . About 65 million people(1% of the human population) in the world have epilepsy and the cases account for 80% in developing countries. [3][4] In this essay, the normal physiology of nerve transmission in cerebral cortex and pathophysiology of epilepsy will be discussed. The mechanism of action of valproate is also studied and how it leads to the treatment of epilepsy. Normal Physiology of Nerve Tranmission in Cerebral Cortex The body system that is affected by epilepsy is CNS which is consisted of the brain and the spinal cord.[5] (Figure 1) Figure 1 The major divsions of CNS[5] The brain has a part called the cerebral cortex(gray matter) which is made up of 3 to 6 layers of neurons.[7] A neuron has three parts namely axon, dendrites and cell body.[6] Neurons are classified as principal(projection) neurons and interneurons. Principal neurons transmit information to other neurons in the brain and form excitatory synapses. Interneurons in the CNS transmit impulses locally and form inhibitory synapse.[7] Two common types of pathways for these neurons include recurrent feedback pathways and feed forward pathways.[9](Figure 2) ` ... Matt Barrett s Athens Survival Guide According to Matt Barrett s Athens Survival Guide , in the 1789, when the Ottoman Empire is mixed up in the war in Europe and Napoleon decided to invade Egypt, Thomas Bruce who was the Earl of Elgin at the time, decided to travel to Athens to acquire sketches and molds of the famous sculptures. He believed that by doing so, the culture of England would improve and her people would grow Enlightened just looking at the impressive Greek works of art. Lord Elgin, who probably had a second motive for obtaining these sketches, was also encouraged return with these molds and sketches so that the architect of his new large home could have some inspiration in the designing. Regardless of Lord Elgin s motivations, he accepted a position of ambassador with England and left to visit Greece with specific instructions to remove the French from the areas that were part of the Ottoman Empire as well as to watch for new deals and trades to assist England. Lord Elgin worked as an Ambassador for a few years and though he grew sicker while living there, as well as losing his nose to a severe skin disease, he continued in his works to acquire the sketches and molds of the sculptures in Athens and had no desire nor thought to actually take any of the original marble pieces. Florence Nightingale Impact In Nursing Whether in acute care settings, global health care programs or community health organizations, nurses rely on significant one on one time with their patients. By doing so, they gain a better understanding of how to provide the kind of care that meets a patient s individual needs and comfort standards. This patient centered care stems from Nightingale, who continues to have a major influence on the nursing field today. Florence transformed nursing in London when she got back in Crimea war, She had access to people in high places and she used it to get things done. Florence was stubborn, opinionated and forthright but she had to be those things in order to achieve all that she did. In the 1870s, Nightingale established nursing education by writing the first textbook on the subject in 1960; entitled Notes of Nursing in her writing, she emphasized the importance of patient observation to figure out their symptoms and needs, as to be able to provide the right care; Nightingale mentored Linda Richards, ... Nightingale was history s first and most effective advocate for the healthcare rights of soldiers and veterans; and of course she was the guiding light for the first professional school of nursing. The film begins with Nash arriving at Princeton University for his first year. We are introduced to many of the main characters in the first few minutes of the film. We meet his enemy, who Nash believes he is smarter that, and his roommate who drinks too much but is always there as a helping hand for John. As Nash begins his collegiate career we begin to see some early symptoms of his disorder. Nash is a gifted math student obsessed with finding a new way to predict patterns. He studies pigeons, his classmates as they play football outside his dorm window, and even the way his classmates talk to women at the bar. We see Nash ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The friend looked like he was fearful of John and what he might do. Many times people viewed Nash as dangerous and insane. Most of the characters carried a negative attitude toward mental illness in general, except for John s wife Alicia. She is supportive and wants John to get better so he can get back to being the man she married . Alicia s attitude toward his mental illness was understanding and supportive, while also pushing him to get better. The mental health professional in this movie is Dr. Rosen, who is only seen a few times in the whole movie. He is portrayed as a reasonable, logical man who is only there to help. Hyler s stereotypes of mental illness can be applied to this movie also. Instead of Nash and his disorder portraying him as a homicidal manic or the like, Nash was portrayed as another stereotype of Hyler s that is rarely depicted in modern films, the enlightened member of society. Nash is the enlightened member of society who envisions great things and appears to be a well balanced individual, even with his delusions at the beginning of the movie. This stereotype contradicts our usual view of individuals with mental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An extract from another one of Shakespeare s tragedies goes by, To thine own self be true, which relates to the themes and characters of Othello as seen through the literary approaches psychoanalysis and Marxism. Through the characterisation of Iago, Desdemona and Othello, he is able to connect plays with the themes of revenge, jealousy and love. The tragedy of Othello is inevitable due to the consequences of its characters staying truthful to themselves or changing progressively. Iago s steadfast malicious intentions arising from his thoughts of revenge and jealousy is constant throughout the play, giving an insight on his sincerity to himself. Due to his incapability of enabling his own promotion and the ineffectiveness of gaining his wife s affection, the audience is able to read Iago through the lens of psychoanalysis as he spends the entire plays striving to become influential to atone for his fragility. Although Iago is observant enough to recognise his enemies as having compensating features, The Moor, howbeit that I endure him not, is of a constant, loving, noble nature, this does not halt Iago s desire to bring them down. The jealousy originates from the promotion of Cassio to lieutenant so he is endeavouring to take revenge on both Othello and him. In his soliloquy, Shakespeare alternates from prose to a verse style of writing, which displays his chaotic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It became strong enough to play a role later in the fifth century in the struggle for Greece between Athens and Sparta. Athens had Miletus join into the Delian League, but they were still too weak to contribute partly due to the destruction of the city. Miletus also faced internal political conflict and Athens became involved in the situation. Athens supported the upper class to continue to rule rather than a democracy which is what Athens used to rule its city state. However, this upper class of rulers started to take advantage of the workers causing more tension. The oligarchs revolted from Athens and massacred their opponents. • 11. Fate In The Monkey s Paw By W. Jacobs Fate cannot be tamed and anyone who tries to modify their fate does so to their sorrow. This is the main theme that is exemplified in the short work of fiction The Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs. Jacobs successfully creates characters who eventually learn the lesson about fate. Mr. and Mrs. White, the main characters, are visited late one night by a fakir who gives them a monkey s paw that could grant 3 wishes. But, before the fakir leaves, he warns the Whites, if they use the paw, to wish for something sensible (Jacobs 27). Not only does this create foreshadowing, but it also generates conflict between the Whites as to whether or not to use the paw and what to wish for. The author uses the responses of the characters to this conflict, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A terrified and grief stricken Mrs. White acts impulsively, trying to get her son back. She ultimately grabs the paw from where it had been discarded, lying forlornly on the kitchen table, and uses another wish to get her son back (Jacobs 33). Awhile later, the Whites hear knocking and realize that the paw has worked again. Mrs. White rushes to the door, while Mr. White hangs back. Mr. White realizes almost too late that whatever is behind the door might not be his son. So, Mr. White quickly grabs the paw and wishes away whatever was behind the door. The door then swings open to reveal no one. Mrs. White, once again grief stricken, runs outside to the quiet and deserted road and the story ends with the sounds of her anguished cries cutting through the night (Jacobs 34). This, once again, is an example of how the characters reactions help to build to the theme. The Whites certainly get what they wished for, but not in the way in which they want it. The reactions of the Whites help to build the story and specifically help to exemplify the theme. The Whites ultimately find out twice that fate has its own plan. They messed with fate and instead, found out that by messing with their fates they ultimately turned their happiness into sorrow. By obtaining the monkey s paw, they lost their only son due to the first wish and used the second and third wishes carelessly and by the end of the story, they were grief stricken and hopeless. Most of the Americans agree that Abraham Lincoln was one of the best presidents that our country had. There are many reasons why Emancipation Proclamation changed the civil war on a liberation of slaves. In order to better understand and appreciate the Emancipation Proclamation, one must examine its content, importance to the past because the slaves were free and they could work, had their own money and they were not owned by anyone. And continuing importance today because African American have the right to education, they can assist to the same stores, school, restaurants and hospitals. Now, all people in the country are equal. Abraham Lincoln, a lawyer, congressman, and was the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln was opposed to slavery and had a better plan to grow United States with commerce instead of agriculture. In brief, when Lincoln was inaugurated as president in March 1861, seven southern states separated from the country s union and they formed the Confederate States because they wanted to continue with slavery. This was the time when the civil war began. Abraham Lincoln surprised many people because he was a war leader, learned strategies and knew how to choose the best commanders. Later to try to end the civil war, Lincoln issued a document Emancipation Proclamation. Which took effect on January 1, 1863 in the document said that all slaves were free. Slapper and Kelly postulate that: the rule of law represents a symbolic ideal against which the proponents of widely divergent political persuasions measures and criticise the shortcomings of contemporary State practice. (Slapper and Kelly, 2009, p15) These commentators concede that the concept lacks precision and that its meaning changes over time. Noted legal philosopher Joseph Raz accepted the necessity for State intervention in society and suggests that the rule of law is essentially a means of controlling, limiting and shaping the exercise of discretion in this intervention, rather than seeking to abolish it entirely (Raz, 1977, p195). Raz clearly appreciated the risks associated with the arbitrary and uncontrolled exercise of discretionary power and envisaged the principle of the rule of law as the primary safeguard against that threat. Many other writers appear to share the opinion expressed by Raz that the raison d être of the rule of law is to control the exercise of discretion, including Dicey, Hayek and Thompson, and to a lesser extent Unger and Weber. Dicey, for example, in his highly influential magnum opus, An Introduction to the Study of the Law of the Constitution, suggested that the rule of law is composed of three distinct and specific, but indivisible elements (Dicey, 1885, p179 201). As Antigone is passionate for family, Creon is passionate toward the state as he shows through this quote ¨Whoever places a friend above the good of his own country, he is nothing: I have no use for him.¨ (Lines 203 205). Based on this quote, anyone who does not believe that their country is top priority does not have any worth and is not needed. Creon is not against the burial ceremony, he is against a burial ceremony to those that are not worthy. A person has to be a hero or important to the state in order to earn the privilege of a burial. • 27. Acak s Perception Of Anxiety She is well known on the internet as Zoella, but what she does not share with the world may be something her fans struggle with as well. She puts on a happy face and loves to laugh, but that is because that is usually all she lets us see. On a few occasions she has set up book signings for her books. When the crowds get rowdy Zoe gets scared. She tries to stay calm for her fans, but usually she has to leave. For instance, when her vehicle is surrounded by teenage girls she cannot leave, so she starts to cry. Zoe gets panic attacks because she has anxiety, and to her it is not something she takes lightly. Without knowing how anxiety feels, no one can truly understand what people with anxiety are going through. I experience anxiety more than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To control my anxiety, I do whatever I think would help. When I wake up the morning of a presentation I try to calm myself. For example, I tell myself that the presentation is going to be fine, or if it is near the end of the day I will tell myself that it is not until later, so I do not need to worry about it right now. It usually helps to do this, but when I was younger I could not do it myself. My mom used to tell me these things and it would calm my nerves somewhat. I eventually picked up on how to believe myself when I try it on my own and now I can keep myself calm. If that does not work I tell others, such as my mom or friends, and they usually help. It may be really annoying to them to hear me complain about how I really do not want to do a presentation, or how I am scared because it is mentioned constantly. When none of this works I try to take matters into my own hands. If I am able to control the situation, such as a presentation, I try to get it done as soon as possible. I do things like these because to me it means that the situation will be over sooner and the sooner the better, especially with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. My Leadership Style Analysis This week I take on Ohio as I learn to grow as a leader. Today a lot of the things we talked about really hit home with me, and I actually cried in a room full of strangers as I told them my story and why I chose to be a leader. But today we talked about resilience. We defined resilience as: The process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress. This definition really spoke to me. I have been facing this day after day ever since April, and today we had a lady talk to us about it for 2 hours, but it felt like it was only seconds. She helped me to realize that I am not alone, that I have other sisters out there that are fighting, if not the same battle, one that is similar to mine. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I definitely relate to these characteristics way more... Most of the time they all occur at once. To fold up into yourself is basically when you look at people and just say I can t with you right now. You hide away, turn off your phone, turn off all communication with the outside world, and basically just become one with your bed... and maybe a bag of taco bell. With my depression, I am guilty of this a lot. People try to talk to me and then I get in trouble because I get irritated that they won t just leave me alone with myself for a bit... That s often when I storm off. You just hit that point where you ve had enough and you just need to run away from all your responsibilities. This was comforting to hear from someone else, because I was starting to worry that maybe part of my three year old self had held onto parts of my brain. Next is to blame others. You don t want to accept that you have done wrong or that you have messed up, so you start putting the blame on other people. Next, you require total control. In a leadership role, sometimes you feel like you have lost control of a situation, so you try to regain control by taking all of it. You shut people out, and you tell them that you don t need their help. As a bit of a control freak, like I said, I am very guilty of this. As I come into contact with more and more leaders on campus, I have learned to step back and just observe situations and let other people handle them. I have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Like seriously, when I was five years old I was upset that I didn t get the newest Little Mermaid book for Christmas. However, I have never had an interest in writing. Unfortunately, as I plan to go to graduate school to obtain my Ph.D, I really cannot avoid it. Over the years, my lack of enthusiasm about writing has caused me to view most English classes as a chore, something I needed to do in order to advance to what I really wanted to do with my life. With the risk of sounding like a suck up, this is one of the first English classes I have valued because I have felt like I improved some aspect of my writing in each essay. How does it feel, not having spend your childhood working in a factory? You have the chance to live freely, be a kid, go places, hangout with your friends, etc. Unfortunately, life wasn t that easy in the victorian period. In the Victorian Period, the workforce and the economy gained profit off of child labor. Most kids were forced into child labor during the Victorian Period. Other kids had to help take care of their families. The government allowed child labor because it brought success into the economy. Physical Therapy Personal Statement The streets of my hometown have not been this flooded since the Ohio River rose over the ten foot flood wall in 1937; only this time not by water, but by prescription pain pills. • 33. Unions Struggle With Outsourcing POSSIBLE INTRODUCTION Today Unions have a feud with outsourcing, the union employees are losing their once thought secure job to outsourcing. This is due to a company s drive to increase profits, decisions of lower wage and job loss occurs. When a US company s looks for other options of employment, it usually come down to outsourcing, subcontracting, and privatization, these options that companies take to increase profit. Union job security isn t always so secure, often union contracts discuss the effects outsourcing, but not make the decision to layoff an employee in favor of outsourcing. However this contract makes union workers bargain over their jobs, by lowering their wages and if they do not agree with the bargain then the companies are able to layoff employee, and replaces them with outsourcing. Unions are able to fight these companies for an agreement to be made, for instance, if a union as a whole decides to agree with these new terms of lower wages, the company is unable to let the employees go. Instead the unions will agree to terms with their jobs being taken away and sent overseas, unions often lobby to retaliate their termination. He realized that this war wasn t going anywhere, and that the American people were not as gung ho for the war like they were before his presidency. With that in mind, Nixon introduced the topic of Vietnamization . (Wikipedia) He introduced this topic in his May 14, 1969 speech and also introduced it in his letter to Ho Chi Minh. (Document A) Vietnamization was basically a plan to get Americans out of Vietnam. Nixon wanted to stop the deaths of American soldiers because he saw that this war wasn t going to be won. Minh responds to Nixon s call for a just peace by stating that peace will happen, and the Vietnamese people want peace to happen, but the United States continues to intensify its military operations .
