Emma Hendrix. Mrs. Pickle. Pre-Ap World History 9 . 16
Emma Hendrix Mrs. Pickle Pre AP World History 9 16 March 2017 The Schlieffen Plan Leads to the
Two Front War When Germany declared war on Russia in 1914, they also had their own military plan,
which called for a two front war with France and Russia. It was called The Schlieffen Plan and was
developed by General Alfred von Schlieffen in 1903 but was revised in December of 1905. At this
time, he was chief of the German General Staff, and Europe was separated into the Triple Alliance,
which consisted of Germany, Austria, and Italy, on one side and the Triple Entente, which consisted of
Great Britain, France, and Russia, on the other. Schlieffen was sought out by the Kaiser in order to

It was supposed to be implemented by 1916, when Schlieffen felt that Germany would be strong
enough to be victorious; however, when Schlieffen designed his plan, he did not take politcs or the
chaos that it would lead to into account. Two years before they were prepared to implement the Plan,
in 1914, a Serbian nationalist killed the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It is believed that the
tension between Serbia and Austria Hungary goes back to the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
by Austria Hungary. Serbia was infuriated because it ruined their hope of Slavic unity and freedom by
using Bosnia to establish a large Serbian Kingdom. Because of the archduke s assassination and the
fact that Serbia rejected some of the ultimatums given by Austria Hungary in order to preserve its
sovereignty, Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. After the takeover of Bosnia and Herzegovina
by Austria Hungary, Russia and Austria Hungary s allies were committed to supporting their
respective allies more effectively in the event of another crisis. Therefore, since Russia was
determined to fully support Serbia, Czar Nicholas II ordered partial mobilization, the process of
assembling troops and supplies and making them ready for war, of the Russian army against Austria
Hungary. Today, mobilization would not necessarily be considered as an act of war; however, at

The Day At Marine Corps
A million thoughts were running through my head as we drove from Savannah, Georgia International
Airport in the dead of night. I along with 50 other new recruits were herded on to a bus and told to put
our heads down as they drove around for what seemed like hours. The recruiters used this as a
disorienting and scare tactic, so we would have no idea where we were. As we arrived at Marine
Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, I thought to myself, holy shit, am I really doing this? As the bus
pulled to a stop a drill instructor stepped on to the bus. He began shouting unintelligible words at us in
a raspy, gruff voice. The only words I was able to understand were off and bus . I didn t give it a
second thought, I was off the bus as fast ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I had been awake for over 40 hours when they issued us our M16 A2 Service Rifles and cleaning kits.
Little did I know that I would be spending night and day with this rifle and it would become a part of
me. Receiving our rifles was the highlight of the day, we knew it was real now. After the armory we
put on all 50 pounds of gear and walked for what seemed like miles to our new home, 4th Battalion
Platoon 4005 Upper Deck Papa Company A Side. When we were introduced to our new home we
were told to label all our new issued gear. 2 pairs of combat boots, 4 towels, 7 pairs of underwear, 7
sports bras, 2 sets of utility camos, etc. Once we had finished labeling all our gear we were able to hit
the racks, I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Being awake for 54 hours had taken its toll on
me. But I knew this was the easiest day we would have during our stay. I awoke the following
morning to shouts of LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS! which meant get the hell out of bed as fast as you
can and stand on line. As we stood waiting for our instructions from our drill instructors, we could all
sense each others fear. For the next 13 weeks we would be told what to do how to think and when to
breath. Not only was it physical but also psychological, we would be torn down and built in to the
perfect Marine. After we were yelled at to get dressed in our camies, we marched down to the chow

The Conflict Of The Independent Republic Of Azerbaijan
University did not articulate any references to Azeri nationalism in their slogans. Obviously, the Azeri
community is more likely to play a role in determining the future direction of Iran s political evolution
than in igniting an ethnically based separatist movement. Having proven its centuries long loyalty to
the Iranian state and territorial integrity, Azeris are also likely to work within the current political
system to address their grievances. Although the emergence of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan
has been a source of Azeri ethnic pride, it has not generated popular support from the Iranian Azeri
community to join Azerbaijan. While many Azeris admit to maintaining cultural bonds with their
brethren in the Republic of Azerbaijan, such ties do not translate into aspirations to separate from a
state in which they already exercise tremendous influence, with many of them occupying high level
government positions.
The demands of the Azeri minority remain quite modest, focusing primarily on the expansion of
cultural freedoms. For instance, local control over Azeri language broadcasting, representation in local
government, and the promotion of the Azeri language at all levels of education, including the
university level. In light of the regime s need to avoid exacerbating dual loyalties inside its borders
and the prominent role Azeris play in the government and the business community, the Iranian
government is likely to meet their demands. Although some scholars

How Social Workers Within Hospice
Social work is recognized as a helping profession, by attempting to improve a better quality of life and
accessing the needs of clients. However, when addressing the needs of client, over time can cause a
great deal of stress on a social worker, which leads to burnout. In the social work field, particularly
hospice, social workers work in a high loss environment which can also contribute to burnout and
their own death anxiety issues. In this research proposal, we will investigate how social workers
within hospice face burnout and how it is relates to death anxiety.
The purpose of hospice is to provide the best quality life and end of life care for individuals with a
chronic illness. Engaging in hospice social work is both a rewarding and challenging (Quinn Lee,
Olson McBride, Unterberger, 2014). Individuals often choose to become hospice social workers for a
variety of reasons including a sense of purpose and commitment based on personal experiences with
death and grief; disenchantment towards dying in a hospital setting and a desire to focus on the quality
of life versus the quantity of life (Quinn Lee, Olson McBride, Unterberger, 2014). Rewards associated
with hospice work include working with an interdisciplinary setting, the opportunity to implement
hospice philosophies, and the opportunity to share transcendent experiences with clients and their
families (Quinn Lee, Olson McBride, Unterberger, 2014).
This paper will summarize a study conduct between social

Mason City Cement Plant History
It is not widely known that Mason City Iowa is home to the second and third top producing cement
companies in North America, according http://www.theconcreteproducer.com. This has cemented
these companies into the history of Mason City.
The cement companies in Mason City are very historical. The changes the cement plant went through,
the public opinion, and the effect it had on the enviroment are what this essay will cover.
Firstly, Lehigh Hanson cement established in Mason City, Iowa in the early 20th century. The
Northwestern States Cement Company produced there first barrel of finished cement in 1908. In 1911
Charles MacNider took over management of The Northwestern States Cement Company.

the cement plant had an impact on the enviroment. Before enviromental changes were made to the
plant Stan Simmons quotes, They didn t wan t to have the dust collectors, they cost a lot of money.
But when they made those new enviromental rules they had too. The dust covered the north end on
windy days. This shows it is an annoyance to people living on the north side of town. It would an
annoyance to walk outside and get dust all over you. That stuff could also get in your cars and ruin the
engine. It was got real bad when we upped our production and still didn t have the enviromental
changes in place. It also ruined cars. Thats at least ten thousond plus dollars lost for people. This is
another example of how the cement plant affected the enviroment. We had to where dust masks too.
Some of the old workers didn t. Oh it s harmless i ve been working here for years and haven t got lung
disease. But after they said that they would discover they had something wrong with there lungs. The
stuff also killed wildlife in a close vicinity to the plant too. But you had to be exposed repeatedly to it
for the dust to do real damage. This is the biggest way the dust affected the enviroment. It not only
harmed people that worked there but also forced wildife to move and killed it if it stayed to

Mathematician Vs Aerospace Engineer
Everybody has to grow up and someday, a future career has to be chosen. This choice is very difficult
and hard for some people. Two great choices would be a mathematician and an aerospace engineer.
Mathematician and aerospace engineering are two interesting and unique job choices, but are highly
different and offer different opportunities. These jobs have different working styles, outlooks,
environments, education needed, and salary. These jobs are also similar in a lot of ways.
First of all, aerospace engineering and mathematicians offer different working styles and job
descriptions. The skills needed for this job are very similar, but at the same time very different.

Job growth is very important when choosing a job. Most of the time, a person would want to pick a
career that is growing fast because there are more opportunities. Job growth is favorable to aerospace
engineers if they know C++ programming(OOH). However, not all aerospace engineers know C++
programming, and in the case, the job can be on the decline. Also according to the Occupational
Outlook Handbook, more and more companies are trying to provide access to space. The more
companies trying to get to space, the more aerospace engineers needed. According to Sokanu,
mathematicians are growing 21.4%, while aerospace engineers are declining 2.3%. Mathematicians
have a much faster growth than most jobs are predicted. Even though the percentage is higher for
mathematicians, there are way more jobs for aerospace engineers. There are only 4,000 projected
mathematicians projected in 2026 compared to the 73,800 aerospace engineers that are projected and
only 900 more jobs are predicted to come(OOH). According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook,
mathematicians are predicted to grow because of the increase in smartphone usage and social media,
which will increase the amount of stored data usage. This being said, aerospace engineers as of now
have the advantage. Even though the job is on the decline, there are still way more jobs available and
there will be for a while. However, way down in the future, there could be a lot more

Mid-Term Examination
In my social psychology class, there was a recent examination given to the class. It was the mid term
examination. For the mid term examination, the class was instructed to read chapter s 1 6 in the text
book. The class was also instructed to study for the exam by reviewing the lecture notes. In this paper
I will focus on a few questions I answered incorrectly on my mid term examination. The exam
contained 48 multiple choice questions and two true/false questions. Out of this 50 questions total, I
answered 18 incorrectly. One of the questions I will focus on is located on the second page. The
question reads, Nicole has just met some new people in her dorm. During a discussion on campus
issues, she modifies her opinions so that they match ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I now see that covariation model is definitely not the answer. Another choice was the
representativeness heuristic. A mental shortcut through which people classify something as belonging
to a certain category to the extent that it is similar to a typical case from that category is the definition
of representativeness heuristic (Kenrick, Neuberg, Cialdini 78). The correct answer to question 30,
which is a definition, is correspondent inference theory. Franklin dislikes the Rush Limbaugh radio
talk show. At a party, Franklin meets Jefferson, who lavishly praises the Rush Limbaugh show.
Franklin takes an instant dislike to Jefferson. Which of the following psychological theories would
best predict Franklin s response to Jefferson (Huck) , was also one of the questions I missed on the
mid term. This is question 46 which is located on the seventh page. For this question I answered
reciprocity theory. I don t even know if there is a reciprocity theory but there is a norm of reciprocity.
The norm of reciprocity requires that we repay others with the form of behavior they have given us
(Kenrick, Neuberg, Cialdini, 196). Franklin did not repay Jefferson with the same behavior so this is
not the answer. The balance theory states that we all prefer to have

A Person s Heart Rate Monitoring Essay
A person s heart rate provides a lot of information about their health. However, the heart rate monitors
that are used to find the heart rate can be very expensive. Cardiologists at the Wexner Medical Center
are interested in a new heart rate monitor that is more cost effective for use in third world countries. A
prototype of the new heart rate monitor was given to FEH students to conduct an experiment. The
purpose of this experiment was to tough roughly test the prototype and analysis the differences
between different stages of data collection.
Section 2, the Experimental Methodology, provides a description of how the prototype was tested. It
discusses the materials and the procedure used to test the sensor. Section 3, Results and Description,
provides the results produced from the tests of the prototype and . Section 4 discusses the significance
of these results and faults in the experiment. Finally, section 5 provides a summary and conclusion of
the experiment and discuss ways to improve the experiment.

History Begins At Sumer Essay
When scientists discovered artifacts about Sumerians, they figured out they created a type of writing
system called cuneiform. This invention led them to write on stone tablets and preserve information.
Sumerians had a school system which meant schoolwork was assigned to them. According to the
information given above, it states that they would be given oral work and written work in the
afternoon. When the student finishes school and arrives home, he is very respectful towards his father
and interacts with him about school. Although in the text, the student does not greet his mother until
the next morning. The student only asks for food and treats his mother disrespectfully as if she is
lower than him. On the next day for the student to go to school, the text expresses that they have fear

While reading the excerpt it reveals to be a reliable source of information. At the end of the text it is
quoted from HIstory Begins at Sumer by Samuel Noah Kramer which means it is from an actual non

renowned expert in Sumerian history and lauguage, meaning that the source has a better chance of
being reliable. Based on what I read, the student who attends school and does the work to be a scribe
plays a role as a person who recites and records information in the Sumerian society. This information
explains to us the strictness of the school because the students should be dedicated and hardworking
because of how important it is to be a scribe. Sumerian school compared to a Modern American high
school can be similar because we would also read, write, and recite information. A Sumerian school
and a Modern American High School also have in common have delligent, dedicated students who

The Canadian Community Health Survey
Purpose of the CCHS:
The Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) is a federal cross sectional assessment that aims to
obtain health related information at the regional tier. This series of surveys gathers population level
data linked with health status, health care usage, and the root causes affecting overall health.
The CCHS aims to document emerging health trends that can assist in population health research and
additional health surveillance programs. Furthermore, the effective utilization of the CCHS can serve
as a platform to improve the well being of all Canadians and raise awareness about health concerns
and innovative health strategies.
When did it start and why?
The CCHS is a joint effort of Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Statistics Canada,
and the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). In 1991, the National Task Force on Health
Information highlighted various discrepancies with the collection and management of Canadian health
data. As a result, a Health Information Roadmap was constructed and a framework for the CCHS was
developed. The CCHS initiative began surveying in 2001, and, in 2015, the CCHS implemented a new
collection mandate resulting from a redesign project that included significant content modifications.
Cross sectional Survey v. Longitudinal

topics. However, a longitudinal survey records observations over a

The word homeless is used to describe a person without a home, and therefore typically living on the
streets. Homelessness is described as part of a vicious circle that is difficult for many to escape.
More temporary shelters and rehabilitation sessions to help individuals find employment should be

Many homeless individuals, especially the young, have fallen victim to a complex mesh of social,

Although Steinbeck is still known for many more publications, In Dubious Battle, Of Mice and Men,
and The Grapes if Wrath were the three novels that both started his career and allowed it to prevail, his

Analysis Of Elizabeth Grammar On Job Redesign
Running head: JOB ENRICHMENT 1
Analysis of Case Study by Elizabeth Layman on Job Redesign
University of the People
JOB ENRICHMENT 2
Introduction
Job design is a tool meant to work as motivator for employees. It is meant to increase job satisfaction
and commitment. By the same token, it is meant to decrease turnover and absenteeism (Carpenter, M.,
Taylor, B., Erdogan, B., 2009). Elizabeth Layman offers a broader perspective on how job redesign
changed the working environment in the Health Information Services Departments (HIS). Health
Information leaders are in charge studying the signs that will help with theory and context to find the
best solutions that will deliver results in job redesigning.
How are the principles of goal setting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is relevant because it improves the current hard, soft and context variables that are affecting them.
This goal is not time bound since the case study does not offer a specific date for its completion.
Principles of job enrichment applied in this case
Job enrichment is a variation of job enlargement. Job enlargement aims to increase the responsibilities
of the subject to avoid boredom and monotony. Job enrichment also increases the responsibilities of
the subject, but in a different manner. In this case, the employee is given more tasks,
JOB ENRICHMENT 3 but the employee has the liberty to correct unnecessary steps, and
consequently make his job more efficient and effective. This tool helps as a motivator that leads to
higher employee satisfaction since the subject feels more in control of his job. Nevertheless, job
enrichment can also backfire because employees will not see the correlation between earning more
duties, and not earning more money (Carpenter, M., Taylor, B., Erdogan, B., 2009).
In Layman s case study, the job enrichment principles are present first in recognizing that changes
need to be done at the sector, organizational, and employee levels. At the sector level, management
needs to be more proactive in deciphering those sector wide events that at the end affect individual
workloads, but also standards, regulations and

The Post War Era
The zeitgeist of the post war era was change, encompassing both personal, social and political
transformation explored by composer s experimentation with form and subject matter. The dominant
discourse of power during the Cold War was the ideological conflict between Capitalism and
Communism. The dominant ways of thinking were profoundly challenged by the emergence of an
alternative, youth driven culture. A composer s disillusionment with the world in the After the Bomb
period acted as a catalyst for them to not only challenge ways of thinking but also the traditional form
of literature. The era saw widespread criticism of government systems and of the military industrial
complex as hegemonic ideas about America were being questioned. There was a widespread
perception that society had lost touch with the cornerstone of American values and pillars of
democracy and it was the role of the writers, filmmakers and poets to recapture its emphasis on
idealism rights and liberty and challenge the world that rejected these ideals. The texts which
challenged the values and ways of thinking of the time coupled with their exploration of universal
themes and the victims perspective enables these texts to continue to hold enormous significance and
influence in today s society. Accordingly a sense of discomfort pervades confronting texts of the era as
composers experiment with subject matter by amplifying humanity s growing dissension with towards
the values and ideas that shaped

U.s. Iranian Negotiations And The United States Essay
United States Iranian Negotiations
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has been regarded as the biggest diplomatic failure in the
United States history. While this seems to be an over sensationalized statement, analyzing the dispute
system design, cross cultural negotiation, and resistance points of the deal, may shed further insight on
the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and how the United States resolves conflict with Middle
Eastern nations.
Historical Context
The relations between the United State s and Iran were amicable throughout the post World War II. In
entering the Cold War, the United States negotiated the Baghdad Pact in which an alliance between,
Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan was formed. During this era, President Nixon encouraged the Shah of Iran to
develop a nuclear program and provided the funding to Iran s energy sector. The United States
maintained a close partnership with Iran until, the Islamic Revolution in February of 1979. The
revolution overthrew the Shah of Iran and Ruhollah Khomeini became the new supreme leader of
Iran. Immediately following the revolution, Iran engaged in a war against Iraq in the early 1980s. With
a new balance of power, tensions grew between the U.S. and Iran. During this time, Iran held 52
Americans hostage in an attempt to negotiate with the United States; however, after the Iranian
hostage crisis, the United States no longer saw Iran as an ally.
After the Iranian Revolution, Khomeini sought to increase Iran s nuclear

Double Indemnity Summary
In Part II: The Private Investigator of The Longman Anthology of Detective Fiction it says, The
original world of the hard boiled detective was clearly a male one, where women were suspect and
dangerous. (as cited in Mansfield Kelley and Marchino, 2005, p.207). In the cases of Double
Indemnity, directed by Billy Wilder, and The Gutting of Couffignal, wrote by Dashiell Hammett, this
is exactly the case. Both are, in the case of Double Indemnity based off of, hard boiled detective
stories in which the women are cunning, manipulative, and dangerous. The women are strategically
oriented, have little regard to others, and are selfish. They also blindly rely on the feelings and actions
of others. They re overconfident and proud of their abilities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Surgical attachment system
The company has developed a wide range of attachments that can be paced on each of the robotic
arms. These are very similar to the normal instruments that a surgeon would use, such as clamps and
scalpels. Intuitive surgical has named these attachments Endowrist instruments.
Figure 6: An Endowrist attachment known as the cobra grasper. It is used to secure dense tissue
structures such as tumours.
Figure 7: Curved Endowrist scissors
All the instruments are designed with seven degrees of motion that mimic the dexterity of the human
hand and wrist. Also, Each instrument has a specific surgical function such as clamping, stitching and
tissue cutting. Quick release levers speed instrument changes during operations.
In summary, the Da Vinci Robot system provides a surgeon with a great deal of control, range of
motion, fine tissue handling capability and a 3 D viewing system. It also allows the doctor to work

Philanthropy In Poverty
Assess the role played by philanthropy in the relief of poverty between 1750 and 1950.
Between 1750 and 1950 the way in which the poor and poverty was perceived by society was
changing. Consequently, it was during this period that concerns began to flourish with regards to
pauperism, and what should be done about it. The poor law, which had been put in place during the
sixteenth century by Elizabeth 1 was becoming outdated and expensive. What s more, many of the
upper classes thought of the poor law as providing too much relief to the impoverished. At the same
time philanthropy, that is the desire to help others, especially through the donation of money to good
causes was becoming extremely popular within the upper classes. Subsequently, over the period

These changes came about as a direct response to the rising numbers of paupers and pauperism. The
poor laws, which consisted of outdoor relief, the workhouse and parish responsibility for the locally
born, required contradictory responses to poverty: succour and repression, alms and forced labour.
These dual directives which were implemented by church wardens and several of the substantial
householders who served as overseers of the poor were a burden on both administrators and paupers
alike who had to decide which person would be given relief, and the type of relief given. In addition,
the poor law, which had been put in place during the sixteenth century by Elizabeth 1 was becoming
outdated and expensive, as rising numbers of paupers were too great to maintain this as a viable option
for the relief of poverty. By this time the poor rate accounted for one fifth of the national expenditure
by 1830. This led to sustained call for a more centralised and uniform system which brought about the

Last exception is the consent . Consent exception applies to even when the sender of the intercepted
communication has been assured that all email communications would remain confidential and
privileged. In Smyth v The Pillsbury Company, Smyth sent emails to his supervisor that contained
unprofessional comments from his home computer. Because his supervisor gave consent to the
company to intercept the emails and the emails were later retrieved by the courts, Smyth was
terminated and was not able to be protected under the consent exception. A second commonplace
monitoring method used by employers is internet tracking. Internet tracking can be used to visit non
work websites like Facebook and Yahoo accounts. Statistics show over 90% of employees admits to
visiting other websites doing work hours. About 76% of firms monitor internet use. This can help
companies prevent employees from going to inappropriate sites which could possibly create legal
issues. For instance, a New Jersey case contained a log that showed one employee accessing porn
websites. This activity caused an employee to be arrested due to repeatedly logging on that site when
told by his supervisor to stop. Also, this type of activity draws attention to companies and causes law
enforcement to get involved and companies can be charged with aiding and abetting legal behavior if
found with evidence. A third form of employee

Descriptive Adjectives In The Monkey s Paw And The House...
Descriptive Adjectives in The Monkey s Paw, and The House of the Scorpion.
The author, Erik Pevernagie, once said, When ideas evaporate, when shapes fade and forms lose their
integrity, our imagination can create an outlandish setting and convert everything into a hazy, misty
Turner landscape. ( Back garden of a dream ) .
Many writers often use specific words and details to help bring the reader into the story. By using
these words the writer helps develop a setting, and it brings the reader into, and be able to experience
it as if they were there. In the story The Monkey s Paw by W.W Jacobs, and the novel, The House of
the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, the author uses descriptive adjectives to help develop the setting. First,
the author uses descriptive adjectives in The Monkey s Paw, to develop setting in the story. This helps
the reader see and feel the setting as if they were really there. In addition, the quote, Without, the night
was cold and wet, but in the small Laburnum Villa the blinds were drawn and the fire burned brightly.
The quote helps to set the stage of the story, while also bringing a warm, and inviting kind of mood.
Saying that the fire burned brightly brings a comforting feeling to the reader like they are with the
characters in the story. Next, another example of Descriptive adjectives would be, A cold wind rushed
up the staircase, and a long loud wail of disappointment and misery from his wife gave him the
courage to run down to her side, and then to the gate beyond. The streetlamp flickering opposite shone
on a quiet and deserted road. This quote brings an unsettling but relieved state of mind. The father just
wished away his undead son, and the tension in the story is released. Saying the street lamp was
flickering on a quiet and deserted road brings the reader into the story as if they were staring off into
the street with the characters. Lastly, descriptive adjectives is in the quote, He sat until he was chilled
with the cold, glancing occasionally at the figure of the old woman in the window. The candle end,
which had burned below the rim of the china candlestick, was throwing pulsating shadows on the
ceiling and walls, until, with a flicker larger than the rest,

Colonialism Of Film And Literature Essay
Chenelle Seck Sociology of Colonialism Professor Ravi Palat 17 November 2016 Colonialism in Film
and Literature Colonialism is one country s control over another. It involves leaders who are in power
and the masses who are powerless and oppressed. Many countries around the world have been
colonized, exploited, and oppressed by European countries for various reasons, including the
European powers need to civilize and assimilate societies that were different from their own. The topic
of colonization is presented in scholarly work, books, art, and movies. Two movies that demonstrate
European colonization are Tjoet Nja Dhien, an Indonesian film and Camp de Thiaroye, a Senegalese
war film. Both these films depict the struggle between the colonizers and the oppressed. Themes
portrayed in the movies are women s roles, the Islamic faith, and modernity in Tjoet Nja Dhien and
racial identity, inequality, and cultural oppression in Camp de Thiaroye. Two works of literature that
support the themes in these movies are Child of All Nations and God s Bits of Wood. Tjoet Nja Dhien
is a 1988 Indonesian film about a woman who led the Acehnese army against the Dutch after the death
of her husband. The movie began with the attempt of the Dutch to colonize Indonesia and the start of
the war between them. After the death of the war leader, Umer, leadership was taken over by his wife,

DC has the upperhand in terms of tradition and recognition, but is that enough? Marvel has become

The kidneys are important organs in your body to help filter waste. Sometimes organs may fail and
cause further problems within your body. There are treatments available for kidney failure including

from 2 ½ to 4 ½ hours. Your blood pressure will be check regularly. Your machine will be adjusted to
ensure that correct amounts are being removed from your body. You are allowed to relax, read, watch

underwear until time for the next treatment. This type of dialysis is more work, more intense, and is
required much more. It is done four to five times a day at about 30 minutes each time. There is
alternative machine to this called a cycler. It is used every night. Five to six bags are used and the
machine will automatically change fluid while the patient is sleeping. Dialysis can make things easier
on the patient however it depends on how much help your kidneys need as to which treatment you will

Two years before they were prepared to implement the Plan, in 1914, a Serbian nationalist killed the Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand. It is believed that the tension between Serbia and Austria Hungary goes back to the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Austria Hungary. Serbia was infuriated because it ruined their hope of Slavic unity and freedom by using Bosnia to establish a large Serbian Kingdom. Because of the archduke s assassination and the fact that Serbia rejected some of the ultimatums given by Austria Hungary in order to preserve its sovereignty, Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia. After the takeover of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Austria Hungary, Russia and Austria Hungary s allies were committed to supporting their respective allies more effectively in the event of another crisis. Obviously, the Azeri community is more likely to play a role in determining the future direction of Iran s political evolution than in igniting an ethnically based separatist movement. Having proven its centuries long loyalty to the Iranian state and territorial integrity, Azeris are also likely to work within the current political system to address their grievances. Although the emergence of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan has been a source of Azeri ethnic pride, it has not generated popular support from the Iranian Azeri community to join Azerbaijan. While many Azeris admit to maintaining cultural bonds with their brethren in the Republic of Azerbaijan, such ties do not translate into aspirations to separate from a state in which they already exercise tremendous influence, with many of them occupying high level government positions. The demands of the Azeri minority remain quite modest, focusing primarily on the expansion of cultural freedoms. For instance, local control over Azeri language broadcasting, representation in local government, and the promotion of the Azeri language at all levels of education, including the university level. In light of the regime s need to avoid exacerbating dual loyalties inside its borders and the prominent role Azeris play in the government and the business community, the Iranian government is likely to meet their demands. However, when addressing the needs of client, over time can cause a great deal of stress on a social worker, which leads to burnout. In the social work field, particularly hospice, social workers work in a high loss environment which can also contribute to burnout and their own death anxiety issues. In this research proposal, we will investigate how social workers within hospice face burnout and how it is relates to death anxiety. The purpose of hospice is to provide the best quality life and end of life care for individuals with a chronic illness. Engaging in hospice social work is both a rewarding and challenging (Quinn Lee, Olson McBride, Unterberger, 2014). Individuals often choose to become hospice social workers for a variety of reasons including a sense of purpose and commitment based on personal experiences with death and grief; disenchantment towards dying in a hospital setting and a desire to focus on the quality of life versus the quantity of life (Quinn Lee, Olson McBride, Unterberger, 2014). While this seems to be an over sensationalized statement, analyzing the dispute system design, cross cultural negotiation, and resistance points of the deal, may shed further insight on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and how the United States resolves conflict with Middle Eastern nations. Historical Context The relations between the United State s and Iran were amicable throughout the post World War II. In entering the Cold War, the United States negotiated the Baghdad Pact in which an alliance between, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan was formed. During this era, President Nixon encouraged the Shah of Iran to develop a nuclear program and provided the funding to Iran s energy sector. The United States maintained a close partnership with Iran until, the Islamic Revolution in February of 1979. These dual directives which were implemented by church wardens and several of the substantial householders who served as overseers of the poor were a burden on both administrators and paupers alike who had to decide which person would be given relief, and the type of relief given. In addition, the poor law, which had been put in place during the sixteenth century by Elizabeth 1 was becoming outdated and expensive, as rising numbers of paupers were too great to maintain this as a viable option for the relief of poverty. • 33. Descriptive Adjectives In The Monkey s Paw And The House... Descriptive Adjectives in The Monkey s Paw, and The House of the Scorpion. The author, Erik Pevernagie, once said, When ideas evaporate, when shapes fade and forms lose their integrity, our imagination can create an outlandish setting and convert everything into a hazy, misty Turner landscape. ( Back garden of a dream ) . Many writers often use specific words and details to help bring the reader into the story. By using these words the writer helps develop a setting, and it brings the reader into, and be able to experience it as if they were there. In the story The Monkey s Paw by W.W Jacobs, and the novel, The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, the author uses descriptive adjectives to help develop the setting. First, the author uses descriptive adjectives in The Monkey s Paw, to develop setting in the story. This helps the reader see and feel the setting as if they were really there. In addition, the quote, Without, the night was cold and wet, but in the small Laburnum Villa the blinds were drawn and the fire burned brightly. The quote helps to set the stage of the story, while also bringing a warm, and inviting kind of mood.
