Persuasive Essay On Homeschooling
Homeschooling was first introduced in the 1972. In a case Supreme Court case Wisconsin vs. Yoder
they fought over the fact that public schools were violating their religious beliefs. The court decided to
rule in favor of religious freedom, instead of favoring the states who wanted to require public
education for everyone. The ruling that the Supreme Court made did not allow the homeschooled
parents to teach the kids however the want. The government was still allowed to intervene to check the
child s mental and physical health (Homeschooling, 2017). The main reason the homeschooling began
was because of religious reason. Parents didn t want public education to be forced onto their child,
since it may of went against their religion. There are even more reasons now to be homeschooled. It
would be for religious reasons, or it could be for health reasons. Many parents believe that when their
child is being homeschooled they are getting a better, more personalized education. Although
homeschooling is seen as not being a viable alternative for public school,it should be. Students who
are homeschooled have more skills, and receive a better education in primary school. This will help
them greatly once they graduate high school, and go onto college, and even in the workforce.
HIghschooling should be a more prominent option for all students. Although proponents say that
homeschooling doesn t properly prepare children for the future, homeschooling allows children to have

The Divine Command Theory Argument
Divine Command Theory Argument
The Divine Command theory states that an act is morally required just because it is commanded by
God, and immoral just because God forbids it. (Lecture Notes pg. 42, slide #2.) This theory says that
since God has said that it is something we must do to be good, that we must do it. Many religions
believe and live by this saying that it is the will of God or the Gods . I truly believe that God has done
his work and is still at work and since He did create us, He does know what good and evil is and does
have authority to tell us what is good.
Plato challenges The Divine Command Theory with Euthyphro In Plato s Euthyphro, we read about
how Socrates is asking Euthyphro of piety and about the situation he is in. Euthyphro must judge a
murder, and to the surprise of the audience, the murder was his father. As the scene goes on, Socrates
keeps asking what Euthyphro means by piety. In the end, Euthyphro finally answers that piety is what
the God s love or demand. In The Ethical Life, they modify the question asked by Socrates to Is an
action morally right because God commands it, or does God command an action because it is right? .
This question brings up many other questions.
a. Is it Right because God commands it?
God has given many commands as we know. In the Bible, God gives His people the Ten
Commandments. These are a set of rules to which the People of Israel must live by. One of the
questions is, Did God tell them they should do this because he said so or because it is right? One of
the examples would be if God comes down and says to go and rage war against every unbeliever and
kill everyone who does not believe, we will have to do so and you have no right to say it is wrong
because God commanded us to do so and anything that God commands is Law and Good. We ve seen
this real life example in Isis. The radical Islamic group did just that and claimed they were doing
everything for Allah. The rest of the world, we saw it as an act of terrorism but In the Koran, they are
commanded to kill non believers. We did not only disagree with it but we knew it was wrong.
b. Do we Love and Listen to God s Command because we really do love Him or because we fear the
consequences? One

Here s to the Crazy One: Kanye West
Kanye Omari West, an Atlanta born Chicago raised rapper, producer, fashion designer, entrepreneur
has been in the public eye since the beginning of his career and for all the wrong reasons at that.
Whether it is for calling out the former U.S. President George Bush over the Hurricane Katrina crisis
or interrupting Taylor Swift s award acceptance speech in front of the world. He has been called crazy,
egotistic, brash and outlandish, yet he has managed to win hearts of millions and reach the self
proclaimed god status . It is Kanye West s courage to be himself that has made him a fan favorite and
an engenderer of pop culture. Kanye West realizes the platform he has achieved and the power he

West a great artist is the fact that he has never been shy of his identity. Kanye West burst on to the
music scene when 50 Cent was bringing gangsta rap back and on the extreme contrary Ye was talking
about the mundane aspects of his life such as love, relationships, dreams and middle class upbringing.
Tim m West, an educator and performance artist, recollects his thoughts about Kanye West in his
article Hard to Get Straight . Kanye West is the tell all confessional animal exposes his dirt so no one
else can dig him into a hole (115) emphasizing the fact that during his early years in music many
questioned Kanye and his credibility to be a rapper . He did not fit into the rapper mold; Ye was quiet,
calm and collected. Many described him as the Kid with the Pink Polo and Backpack However, his
music spoke to the masses as he brought a different tone to what Hip Hop/Rap genre used to be. It was
still the hard truth about growing up in a middle class black household but by positioning himself as
the middle pole between hood rat poses and caviar dreams, he simultaneously reconciles and underlies
tensions that simmer the lives of his fellow Negren.

The Rites Of Passage By Arnold Van Gennep
Van Gennep and Turner has introduced to all of us a different perspective in looking at and analyzing
not only pilgrimage, but also how people understand and form ideas surrounding the change in states
and statuses, and give meanings to the different parts of the journey. Through this transition, we will
find that many of the societal roles of those who take on the journey are suspended. Particularly, Van
Gennep discusses the 3 rites of passage using territorial passages to explain how the journey from one
sphere or domain to another is joined by various formalities. The 3 rites of passage are pre liminal
(rites of separation), liminal (rites of transition), and postliminal (rites of incorporation). Turner
furthers Gennep ideas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other examples is how most of them had some sort of weapons for protection and a suitcase or bag to
carry their belongings that they may need for their journey or new destination, such as Doc Boone
who brought his medical bag with him. I also thought that when the gambler Hatfield brought along
his deck of cards for the journey really illustrated a characteristic of rites of separation. Knowing that
Hartfield is a gambler, I m sure that his deck of cards brought him familiarity and comfort. Following
the rites of separation is the rites of transition, also known as liminal. This stage of the journey is when
the individual will experience a wide range of emotion and transitions. Their consciousness is further
heightened, while their societal roles may be suspended. Turner states that during the intervening
liminal phase, the state of the ritual subject (the passenger or liminar ) becomes ambiguous, he passes
through a realm or dimensions that has few or none of the attributes of the past or coming state, he is
betwixt and between all familiar lines of classification (turner 2). In other words, the liminal phase is
the between state where the individual (the traveler) is in a state where they are not fully or properly
either of two things. They have just left their current state and has yet entered or joined the next one.
This phase is ambiguous because the individual social position is often not clear or the same as it was
before. The social hierarchies

Project Orangutan Dolphins
Unconsciously us humans take a breath 12 20 times a minute, we go about our days not necessarily
thinking about when we will take our next breathe. Dolphins on the other hand make the choice to
take each and every breath, and when they become too stressed or overwhelmed, they will choose not
to take that next breathe. Ongoing stress and the loss of space to swim in dolphinariums is demeaning
to the incredible creatures and leads to many taking their lives or becoming something they were
never designed to be. Dolphins which are placed in dolphinariums and forced to perform or swim with
humans for excitement are enslaved and not living the life intended. Living quarters for these animals
is unimaginable small and places a great burden on their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the capturing process, to the living and training spaces, to the continuously forced performances
they are required to do daily, these animals face an uncounted for amount of stress. The capturing
process allows men to heard groups of dolphins together and trap them into small coves with nets and
boats, then hand picking the wanted ones and dragging them away to never see open waters again.
Project Orangutan talks about the capturing and the stress it inflicts on these animals, .. during the
capturing process itself as they get entangled in nets and suffocate, others may die from stress. Not
only do these animals recognize the loss of movement but the death of their friends around them. If
the stress of being taken away from their home wasn t enough, they are then forced to live in concrete
cells with no sound reflection. To us that seems fine but when your strongest sense is hearing and
string enough to detect the difference between a ping pong ball and golf ball, the constant screaming
and splashing of water around you begins to take a toll. Dolphins use a type of sound detection called
echolocation, which can be damaged through time by the living conditions of dolphinariums.
Dolphinproject.com talks about the lessening of sounds and vocalization of these animals in captivity,
This reduction in vocalizations is due in part to the effect of the echo caused by the walls of the pools
where dolphins are defined. The high noise frequency surround them for hours a day accompanied by
the loss of socialization through their echolocation causes then even more stress and sadness. This
alone can lead to one of these animals dying involuntarily, or even at their doing. Those who may
think dolphins are only animals who will later forget about the process of being captured or that don t
recognize the sounds

Fast food only represents about five percent of restaurant sales, which means that the Belgian fast food
sector still lags behind many of its European neighbors. As traditional eating habits change with an
increasingly diverse Belgian population, an excellent opportunity exists for American fast food
franchises to expand into Belgium.
Fast food has been able to compete with other restaurants because of their perceived fast service, clean
facilities, reliable taste and affordable prices. The most popular fast food items are hamburgers and
pizza, but Belgians are generally open to new tastes and are willing to support new fast food concepts.
The best sales prospects are products delivered to the home and office.
Restaurants, cafes and taverns, and friteries are the three basic types of Belgian establishments that
serve meals, as defined by the Royal Decree of June 13, 1984. HORECA is a trade association that
represents the interests of hotels, restaurants and cafés/bars. The Trade Association of Friteries,

The Use Of Motifs In The Bean Trees
Written by Barbara Kingsolver, The Bean Trees contains characters who demonstrate how living
creatures are able to find methods of growing and transforming, despite unusual arrangements or
lifestyle. Throughout the novel, in the chapters The One to Get Away and Dream Angels the use of
motifs are greatly emphasized. Rebirth is one of the two important motifs, as the pattern of life and
death is repeated in the novel. Frequently, this theme is connected with dualities: when one member of
a pair passes, the other gains life force. Newt Hardbine represents as some sort of double for Taylor, in
the chapter The One to Get Away . For example, in school, people could barely tell them different
from each other, and their lives appeared to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dried up seed that, once buried, becomes a living thing, symbolizes her own life experience. For
instance, the night blooming cereus that Edna Poppy brings, which appears up on page 240, to Taylor
and Lou Ann before Taylor makes her trip to Oklahoma serves as an indicator, representing the
transient quality to the characters chances. The wisteria vines speak to the cooperative connections
that predominant the novel, and most importantly, the development of bean trees speaks to the
development of Turtle Greer and her development all through the novel. Bean, (128) Turtle s first
word, symbolizes the guarantee that, similar to a dried up seed that grows, an emotionally or
physically wounded woman may flourish if sufficiently given consideration. The bean trees, another
name for the wisteria vine that Turtle spots in Dog Doo Park, symbolize change, a spot of life amidst
infertility. The bean trees have a cooperative association with bugs called rhizobia, which climb up
and down the wisteria vine s roots and give a system that transfer nutrients. This mutual aid
symbolizes the assistance and adoration individuals give each other. The bean trees, similar to
individuals, thrive with a system of support. Taylor s interest with seeds and vegetables is also an
example of of the cycle of eternal rest and new

This can also often involve lengthy requests and submissions of documentation until an agreement is

Not every credit file is suitable for credit repair. The credit repair company can review our situation

It is advised to research the company and ensure they are a reputable credit repairer before we outlay

Can we verify their street address?
Are they an Australian company in Australia?
Do they publish their costs?
Are we required to pay the full costs up front?
Do they provide testimonials from past clients?

The Reign Of The New World
Throughout the Medieval Ages, there were many political events which deem worthy of
acknowledgement. From the year of 476 to 1500, events ranging from the reign of Charlemagne to
Christopher Columbus s discovery of the New World occurred; without the events occurring in
history, today s society would not be the same as it is today. The world may be ruled under one nation
or many more countries may have formed. The important events which shaped the future include:
Charlemagne s reign, the Crusades, the Hundred Years War, and Christopher Columbus s Voyage. The
first significant political event which occurs between 500 and 1000 A.D. is the reign of Charlemagne.
Bennett states, Charlemagne could be warm and talkative, but he could also be hard and cruel, and his
subjects came to regard him with both admiration and fear (Bennett 89). Charlemagne s character and
attitude are loved by some and unloved by some, but one thing cannot be denied: Charlemagne was
the greatest king in the Medieval Ages. Charlemagne led an empire that was consistently at war with
surrounding nations; the wars were strongly tied to conquests based on Christianity. Charlemagne
prompted his nation to build churches, collect relics, and promote a Christian cultural revival. As
Bennett explains, he had long been attempting to attain a status comparable to that of the rulers of
Byzantium (92). By 813, Charlemagne rules both the Church and the State (Seguin Lecture). One,

Ap World Population Chapter 1 Summary
A man named Antoni van Leeuwenhoek dropped everything and ran with his wife to his worktable
because he was viewing a sample through a glass that magnified everything to up to 100x. Nobody
else had anything that powerful.
He spent an enormous amount of time looking at spermatozoa, as they re now called.
The sample he was viewing was spermatozoa.
There were very few censuses.
A single codfish s sperm cells were numbered at 150 billion. Leeuwenhoek concluded from his studies
that there couldn t have been more than 13.385 billion people on Earth.
Historians say that when Leeuwenhoek was alive, there was only about 500,000,000 people on Earth.
When another scientist had discovered human egg cells a century and a half later, the population on
Earth had doubled to more than a billion. At about 1930, it was at 2,000,000,000. It has been building
steadily ever since then. There are people who have seen the world population triple.

Thomas Malthus said that population would grow faster than the food supply until problems made it

But after he said population wouldn t grow fast, that s exactly what happened.
Corn, potatoes, and chemical fertilizers helped get rid of starvation.
A lot of people are underfed, but mass starvation is very rare.
Population will surge as science will spare many lives.
Today in developed countries, an average of 2.1 births per woman would maintain a steady
population.
In developed countries, 2.1 births/women would make the population steady.
The population growth rate has fallen by more than 40 percent.

Othello the Outsider Essay
Othello the Outsider
Shakespeare s tragic hero, Othello, was a man whose gifts far outnumbered his weaknesses. On the
battlefield, he was accomplished; in his profession, he was highly ranked; and, in his life, he was
blissfully married. Despite these great advantages, however, Othello s destiny was ruin. Everything he
had so carefully made for himself would be destroyed by one flaw: his fear of remaining an outsider.
He feared this fate, yet he harped on it continuously, tearing himself between his identity as a
foreigner and his desire to live as a normal citizen. Even so far back as his first public speech,
perturbations caused by this internal unrest surfaced, and it was unrest that would ultimately lead to
his horrible and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If used too often, the approach turns from rhetoric into reality, and the speaker truly is set apart. This
method of appeal is used in many places by Othello, sometimes in regular conversation, which leads
to the feeling that he actually believes it. Later on, when Iago needs to prey upon a weakness in our
hero, this self doubt turns out to be just the key to instilling distrust and jealousy.
As this first portion of self effacement ends, the text sweeps into a section of grand language and
imagery. Othello becomes picturesque for a moment, stating, For since these arms of mine had seven
years pith / Till now some nine moons wasted, they have used / Their dearest action in the tented field;
/ And little of this great world can I speak / More than pertains to feats of broils and battle (page 19).
Every line in this passage contains a descriptor of either vast time or vast expanse. The images
produced by the use of words that describe large things deliver a spacious, worldly subtext meaning to
Othello s literal meaning. Words such as, seven years, moons, field, and great world create an
extensive, cosmopolitan view of his life that conflicts with the literal meaning of his speech, where he
is bluntly saying that he does not know about anything beyond battle.
The short, artistic detour of the middle of the speech is quickly focused back on topic, though, and it
only takes one line before

The New Form Of The Electric Industry
Abstract The Norwegian parliament decided to restructure the electric power market following United
Kingdom s adoption of The Energy Act in 1990 to promote market competition and improve
efficiency. Nord Pool was founded in 1993 as a pool for electric power exchange and became the
world s first integrated exchange platform to trade electric power contracts. This paper presents a
summary of the several milestones in the development of the Nordic power market into its present
form. The financial derivative market, the day ahead market, the intraday market and the major market
participants in Nord Pool have been elaborated along with the mechanism used by Nord Pool to
determine the spot price through market auctions. Also issues on limitations in available transmission
capacity and congestion management in the form of price areas and buybacks have been discussed.
Index Terms deregulation, transmission system operator, congestion management, available
transmission capacity, day ahead market, price areas, buy back bids.
I. Introduction
THE early form of the electric industry, evolved around 1880 A.D. when electric lighting system
became prevalent. At this time, there was a significant competition between electric utilities for
customers. However, since the early 1900 s a general consensus developed that it is cheaper and
economical to produce power at large scale, and hence the electric power industry changed to a natural
monopoly structure. With a monopoly market

wrap it around in a circle and continue to do this for each hook next to the previous hook you just
wrapped the string around until you reach back to the beginning of where you started. You will then
push down all the wraps down each hook so you can have room to start another row of where you
wrap the string around each hook again. Make sure to not let go of the string so that none of your
work done is undone. Once you have another row done, you must use your knitting tool to grab the
first or last wrap you did on the bottom row and pull it over the hook, but make sure the top row does
not come off. I usually grab the bottom wrap on the last and pull it over and continue from there so I
don t have to worry about anything coming undone and I don t have to hold on to the string wrapped
around the hook. You then must continue to make a new row each time till you get 4 rows of the brim.
Make sure to not push down the fourth row you did for the next step. The fifth step is to get that knot
on the side to leave the hook. When you have your 4 rows of the brim done, you don t need the knot
anymore. You must take it off the hook and untie

My Long-Term Aerobic Goal
Over the term of the semester, I was able to fully achieve my fitness goals (and then some), due to a
well structured workout plan, persistence and continued exercise throughout the semester, and
reasonable goals. Due to this I was able to significantly improve my cardio and core strength. My long
term aerobic goal was to be able to run the 1.5 mile benchmark run in 9 minutes and 30 seconds, a 3
minute improvement over my initial 11:48 that I tested at initially. I thought this was a reasonable goal
over the course of 1 semester given a consistent amount of practice. I met this goal about ¾ into the
semester and was able to consistently run the 1.5 miles every workout session in about 9:10. My
aerobic workout schedule consisted of going outside and running the 1.5 mile course every session,
pushing myself to my limits every time and thus incrementally improving my time. I found tht the
most difficult aspect was to master my own self effort, as my own internal effort seemed to make the
difference between a terrible time and a fantastic, fast, run. Once I was able to control this, however,
my times became consistent, and I met my goals every day. My times slowly decreased until I was ...

In my initial fitness testing, I was only able to do 22 curl ups, significantly below average, and thus I
thought it would be reasonable to set a goal of 60 curl ups in 1 session, which is considered average.
By doing many repetitions of 10 curls ups each every day, I was able to build up my muscle strength
to the point where I could go for long periods doing curl ups with little to no fatigue. This was a much
more prominent change than the one I noticed with my aerobic workouts, as I would collapse entirely
from exhaustion after 20 repetitions early in the semester, whereas later I could do curl ups
exceedingly well. I in fact reached 94 curl ups on my final fitness

The Consequences of Continued Use of Nuclear Power Plants...
The Consequences of Continued Use of Nuclear Power Plants in the USA
Introduction
According to the most conservative estimates, century energy consumption will double in the world
by the middle of the 21th century (Beretta). It will happen as a result of the population growth and
other geopolitical and economic factors. Thus, the electricity will be required in order to receive a
sustainable development of fuel hydrogen, and provide people with fresh water. Despite the recent
tragic events in Japan and a splash of public distrust to the peaceful atom , nuclear power continues to
be one of the most promising areas. Demand for electricity, which is growing along with the
development of the world economy, requires the construction of new ... Show more content on

9). Usually receiving the nuclear energy requires a nuclear chain reaction of nuclear fission of uranium
235 or plutonium. Kernels start dividing after hit by a neutron. It provides new neutrons and fission
fragments. Neutrons and fission fragments have a high kinetic energy. Because of collisions with other
atoms fragments, the kinetic energy transforms into heat. Nuclear fusion is another way to release
nuclear energy. Two nuclei of light elements combine in one grave. Such processes occur on the Sun.
Many atomic nuclei are unstable. Over time, some of these nuclei spontaneously convert into other
nuclei, releasing energy. This phenomenon is called a radioactive decay. Nuclear energy is produced in
nuclear power plants, used in nuclear powered icebreakers and nuclear submarines. The United States
is running a program for developing nuclear engine for spacecraft. Nuclear energetics is an energy
sector, which is engaged in the production of electricity and heat by converting nuclear energy.
Factors of the Development of Nuclear Energy
The first industrial nuclear power plant with capacity of 5 MW was put into operation in the USSR
(the city of Obninsk) in 1954 (World Energy Council 7). Advanced industrial countries began to
design and build nuclear power plants with reactors of different types. By 1964, the total capacity of
nuclear power plants rose to 5 million kW in the world.

A physician will diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and other disorders. They also work to promote

What Makes Turkey And Dubai Two Of The Top Ten Highest...
Egypt has Throughout the past 5 years Egypt has faced a tremendous downsize in a major source of
income it had most of it s civilized history. Tourism in Egypt was one of the main 3 sources of income
Egypt counted on pre the revolution that have arisen in 2011. It started growing back post 2014 falling
back down after the Russian airline bombing in 2015. Our current ordeal now is the fact that we don t
only need to revive Egypt s past tourist flow but to increase it drastically to plug a huge deficit in
Egypt s GDP (Growth Domestic Product). To do so we need to look at the problem from outsider s
perspective. What makes Turkey and Dubai two of the top ten highest grossing touristic destinations
well they studied the tourist needs and wants and provided them with all the information needed by
providing applications, maps, flyers and brochures that tells them a lot of useful things to do in their
country and tips to guide them, although both of them don t have nearly as much destinations or
sightseeing spots as Egypt do. The problem that caused the decrease in tourism in Egypt is majorly
accounted to the level of security problems we had which led to massive decreases in arrivals and
declines in growth.
Egypt has a lot of touristic destinations, which has led to the creation of a strong hotel sector and good
travel links with many key source markets. The main destinations in Egypt are Cairo, Sharm el sheikh,
hurghada and luxor and aswan. But there are a lot of another

The Apartheid In Trevor Noah s Born A Crime
The Apartheid was initiated as a ploy for Europeans to better control the exploited populations for
economic gain, as maintaining tension between the different racial classifications diverted attention
from the Europeans as it fed hatred between groups. This assisted in minimizing unity between the
exploited to rally against European control as it backhandedly induced submission for survival. One
way of accomplishing this was by instilling laws that d force segregation, classification, educational
requirements , and economic purposes. The Population Registration Act of 1950 enacted, requiring
segregation of Europeans from Afrikaans . Following shortly, the Group Areas Act of 1950 was
enacted as a new form of legislation alongside the Population Registration Act. This detailed act
separated tribes based on ethnics; consequently, further detailing segregation amongst the natives . In
Trevor Noah s Born a Crime, we see Trevor s life living in the Apartheid. The memoir s focal was of
Trevor living through the Apartheid as a coloured individual, which was classified as white to
Europeans. This causes Trevor great strife as a youth, as it forced him to identify (ethnic wise)
selectively under certain circumstances rather than to one ethnic group. Trevor s education, lifestyle,
and the laws enforced as a youth were very straining to abide under. Trevor was intentionally
conceived by a Xhosa woman by a white Swiss man who was her secret significant other. This was a

This book is an easy read for younger readers. It is bright and colorful which draws the attention of
children. The illustrations are vibrant and well done. This book won the Batchelder award for its job
well done in children s literature. This story is relatable for anyone with siblings that has had any sort
of sibling rivalry. This is a light, kind hearted rivalry, however, it still describes the competition
between the two sisters as many of us have experienced. This was an interesting early World War II
book for younger readers. I found this story to be a quick, engaging read based on the true story of a

Different Forms Of Literature Display Multiple Scenarios
Have you ever considered the different ways one s family makes an influence on how individuals view
themselves? Many different forms of literature display multiple scenarios where the parents or sibling
s perception of the world altar their own judgments of life or possibly even oneself. Think for a
moment, from childhood the person or persons that you are the most familiar with most likely are the
very people that you interact with on a daily basis. Most of the time, it would be your family or
siblings that reside with you in your household. For example, a male who has continuously watched
his father abuse his mother may one day become physically aggressive with his future companion or
might even want to make sure he never puts his hands on any woman based on how it affects his
mother. The way a person grows up and the influences that individual encounters can completely
change the character of just about any human. Judgment from the ones who you consider family
occasionally alters more than just an injured self esteem but overall the perception they have for
themselves.
When the The Rich Brother begins, the author, Tobias Wolff, provides information on how the two
brothers Pete and Donald were complete opposites when it came to their personalities and the way
they viewed life. The fact that their parents were both deceased could have carried a toll on Donald,
the brother who was obsessed with purifying everyone s soul, which could possibly be the reason why

Non Linear Behaviour And Chaos
ABSTRACT
In this report non linear behaviour and chaos have been explored through Duffing Equation
computationally. Key features of the chaos theory such as attractors, Poincarè sections and phase
space diagrams have been analysed and discussed. The programing language of choice for this
experiment was Fortran 90, which has been written explicitly for the purposes of acquiring a chaotic
system and solving the Duffing equation.
Introduction
The Duffing Oscillator named by the German electrical engineer Georg Duffing is a non linear, second
order differential equation, periodically forced and includes a damping term proportional to particle s
velocity. The equation can show different types of oscillations such as a limit cycles and chaos. Given
its characteristics Duffing oscillators are often used to produce similar behaviours in nature. The
equation in this experiment has been studied through the dynamics of a particle under a potential field,
driven by an applied periodical force. The equation of motion for the particle in this system is
(1)
Where constant A gives the strength of a non linear term, B gives the strength of the linear term, C
controls the size of damping, D controls the periodic driving force, and ω is the driving frequency. The
changes in the environment caused by the periodic force are sufficient to lead a chaotic behaviour, as
is the case with Duffing Oscillators.
Most of the systems in universe have a non linear nature. Although a majority of

Nadsat In A Clockwork Orange
One of the first things that captures a reader s attention as they re reading Anthony Burgess novel, A
Clockwork Orange, is the argot, also known as nadsat in the novel, which presents the idea that
language can shape reader s thoughts. This is depicted by the language techniques such as descriptive
language and slang (nadsat). The nadsat, which the main character and narrator, Alex, and his friends
in violence, or droogs as they call themselves, speak throughout the novel shields the readers of the
gory and brutal violence that is really being done to people. The way the author describes the attacks,
or as Alex calls ultraviolence , using the artificial language works because all of the time the readers
are reading, they have to be think about what words such as yarbles (testicles), glazzies (eyes), and
oozy (chain) mean, and so this creates a delay in the readers minds in registering what is actually
happening to the people Alex and his friends are attacking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At first sight, it would be more than difficult to tell what is happening, but after concentrating on the
sentence for a while, readers would then figure out that Alex was cutting Billyboy on the cheeks.
Overall, the effect that the descriptive language and slang/nadsat have on the readers alienates the
violence in the book, making it seem less shocking and therefore conditioning the readers to behave in
an ordinary way, also making readers feels as if they re one of Alex s friends, towards

Bullying In Cyberbullying
Nowadays, bullying is very significantly topic in the world. Huge amounts of students have sacrificed
bullying. According to the National Center for Education Statistic s research, over 5 million students
who are 12 through 18 old has bullied in a school year in the United States. (Lessne and Yanez) The
government has been doing a lot of measures such as enacting the anti bullying law in each state and
opening the website about bullying which runs by the federal government. They also have spent a
huge amount of their budget; however, bullying does not show the sign of extinction. Bullying causes
the national loss because bullying changes the victim s life entirely, increases the risk of self harming,
raises the criminal rate, and spend a lot of money to solve bullying by the government. Bullying
destroys the victim s life entirely. When the victims are bullied, they fear to go. Moreover, their
academic score goes down if they do not attend school long term. The stopbullying.gov which are run
by the U.S. Department of Health Human Services states, the victim s academic score decreases
because the victims tend to miss, skip, or drop out of school. (stopbullying.gov) Moreover, bullying
influences the victims longitudinally. Alexandra Sifferlin, who is a writer for TIME Magazine states
that people who were bullied were two times less likely to hold down a job and also had difficulty
maintaining meaningful social relationships compared to those who did not experience bullying.
(Sifferlin) They will lose self confidence, and they dislike touching others; finally, they may lose the
important opportunities enter to the university and the company. According to Dieter Wolke and Suzet
Tanya Lereya s research, they state that the victims are hard maintaining their job, financial
obligations, and relationships. (Wolke and Lereya) Therefore, bullying cast a shadow the victim s life
in the long term. Bullying raises the criminal and suicide rate. When the victims are bullied, they
cannot think normally and desire to escape suffering. They also feel alone, therefore, they try to
escape by extreme wrong ways such as self harm, and suicide ideation. Debra Pepler, a professor of
psychology at York University states that

New School Experience
New school, new people, and new clothes. Everything is going to be different, I was not looking
forward to that year. The second I stepped foot in that door, I wanted to run as fast as I could back
home. But I couldn t I had to do this. I walked inside and everyone automatically looked at me. Of
course, everyone is in one room right now, I m the new girl at a small school. What else should I
expect, i went and set my stuff down in my home room. When i walked back in all eyes were on me,
again. I didn t like it so I quickly sat down. After we left assembly we had math, i did not like that
teacher at all. Even on the first day, she was mean and rude, that really made me nervous because i
wanted her to like me but the people in my class said she doesn t like anyone. Great.
That day was absloute chaos, it felt so weird being there. After one day there I felt like I was
completely out of place, and I was. None of the teachers really stood out to me, as people that i could
look up to. A lot of the teachers were still trying to get certified and were still really young and
immature. I don t think that s right but that school didn t think that.
A few weeks passed and nothing worth talking about happened, but after the first nine weeks
everything started going downhill, One girl in my class didn t exactly like me so she told the teachers
that I was cheating on some stuff. When i wasn t, she took credit for some of the stuff i did and i had

Greek Philosophers by Claire Monaco

Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle s early lives affected their careers and Greek society, and their deaths
and works of literature affected today s society. Socrates started out as a stone mason who eventually
devoted most of his time to philosophy. Socrates works of literature reflect his world views and
opinions. These opinions had a fatal consequence; he was persecuted for corrupting the youth of
Athens. Socrates was Plato s teacher and instructor. Plato used his works of literature to show his
viewpoints. In his book, The Republic, he covered a wide range of topics that included social,
educational, psychological, moral and philosophical ideas. In this book and The Apology, Plato
criticized Athen s democracy for the persecution of his friend and teacher, Socrates. Plato then became
the instructor of Aristotle. Through Aristotle s life in Thrace, and his intense schooling at the
Academy, he was equipped with all of the knowledge that he needed to become the wise philosopher
he is known as today. Aristotle discussed some of his opinions through his book, Politics. This book
mainly focused on his views of the government and society. His schooling allowed him to advance in
all subjects and discover new ideas. All three of these philosophers not only had a lasting effect on
Greek philosophy, but their ideas have also had a profound

4. No the villagers should not be concerned that this virus will cause damage to their intestines
because that is solely what cholera targets, and the purpose of the phages are to combat the cholera
bacteria, which would in turn help their intestines.
5. The release of a toxin from the cholera bacteria is what causes people to experience the dreadful
symptoms. A negative health concern of killing the cholera at a quick rate is that since the phages will
prevent symptoms from increasingly becoming worse, the dead cholera in the intestine may sit there
for a longer amount of time instead of running straight through the person which may do more damage
to the intestine.
6. Humans should not be concerned about the bacteriophages infecting other cells because each
bacteriophage is particular to a certain bacteria. If the bacterial cell exhibits traits that are desirable to
the certain bacteriophage, then the phage will chose to bind and infect it, otherwise people have
nothing to worry about.
7. If the bacteria became lysogenic, people would see improvements much faster, because more
phages are being produced to combat the cholera bacteria.
8. Eventually the bacteriophages will die in the intestine since there will be no more bacteria to
combat and live off of.
9. A risk to phage therapy is that the virus and bacteria both evolve over time. Using this method more
frequently may cause the virus s to evolve more quickly. If

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Homeschooling Homeschooling was first introduced in the 1972. In a case Supreme Court case Wisconsin vs. Yoder they fought over the fact that public schools were violating their religious beliefs. The court decided to rule in favor of religious freedom, instead of favoring the states who wanted to require public education for everyone. The ruling that the Supreme Court made did not allow the homeschooled parents to teach the kids however the want. The government was still allowed to intervene to check the child s mental and physical health (Homeschooling, 2017). The main reason the homeschooling began was because of religious reason. Parents didn t want public education to be forced onto their child, since it may of went against their religion. There are even more reasons now to be homeschooled. It would be for religious reasons, or it could be for health reasons. Many parents believe that when their child is being homeschooled they are getting a better, more personalized education. Although homeschooling is seen as not being a viable alternative for public school,it should be. Students who are homeschooled have more skills, and receive a better education in primary school. This will help them greatly once they graduate high school, and go onto college, and even in the workforce. HIghschooling should be a more prominent option for all students. Although proponents say that homeschooling doesn t properly prepare children for the future, homeschooling allows children to have a more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Divine Command Theory Argument Divine Command Theory Argument The Divine Command theory states that an act is morally required just because it is commanded by God, and immoral just because God forbids it. (Lecture Notes pg. 42, slide #2.) This theory says that since God has said that it is something we must do to be good, that we must do it. Many religions believe and live by this saying that it is the will of God or the Gods . I truly believe that God has done his work and is still at work and since He did create us, He does know what good and evil is and does have authority to tell us what is good. Plato challenges The Divine Command Theory with Euthyphro In Plato s Euthyphro, we read about how Socrates is asking Euthyphro of piety and about the situation he is in. Euthyphro must judge a murder, and to the surprise of the audience, the murder was his father. As the scene goes on, Socrates keeps asking what Euthyphro means by piety. In the end, Euthyphro finally answers that piety is what the God s love or demand. In The Ethical Life, they modify the question asked by Socrates to Is an action morally right because God commands it, or does God command an action because it is right? . This question brings up many other questions. a. Is it Right because God commands it? God has given many commands as we know. In the Bible, God gives His people the Ten Commandments. These are a set of rules to which the People of Israel must live by. One of the questions is, Did God tell them they should do this because he said so or because it is right? One of the examples would be if God comes down and says to go and rage war against every unbeliever and kill everyone who does not believe, we will have to do so and you have no right to say it is wrong because God commanded us to do so and anything that God commands is Law and Good. We ve seen this real life example in Isis. The radical Islamic group did just that and claimed they were doing everything for Allah. The rest of the world, we saw it as an act of terrorism but In the Koran, they are commanded to kill non believers. We did not only disagree with it but we knew it was wrong. b. Do we Love and Listen to God s Command because we really do love Him or because we fear the consequences? One ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tim m West, an educator and performance artist, recollects his thoughts about Kanye West in his article Hard to Get Straight . • 5. The Rites Of Passage By Arnold Van Gennep Van Gennep and Turner has introduced to all of us a different perspective in looking at and analyzing not only pilgrimage, but also how people understand and form ideas surrounding the change in states and statuses, and give meanings to the different parts of the journey. Through this transition, we will find that many of the societal roles of those who take on the journey are suspended. Particularly, Van Gennep discusses the 3 rites of passage using territorial passages to explain how the journey from one sphere or domain to another is joined by various formalities. The 3 rites of passage are pre liminal (rites of separation), liminal (rites of transition), and postliminal (rites of incorporation). Turner furthers Gennep ideas ... Other examples is how most of them had some sort of weapons for protection and a suitcase or bag to carry their belongings that they may need for their journey or new destination, such as Doc Boone who brought his medical bag with him. I also thought that when the gambler Hatfield brought along his deck of cards for the journey really illustrated a characteristic of rites of separation. Knowing that Hartfield is a gambler, I m sure that his deck of cards brought him familiarity and comfort. Following the rites of separation is the rites of transition, also known as liminal. This stage of the journey is when the individual will experience a wide range of emotion and transitions. Their consciousness is further heightened, while their societal roles may be suspended. Turner states that during the intervening liminal phase, the state of the ritual subject (the passenger or liminar ) becomes ambiguous, he passes through a realm or dimensions that has few or none of the attributes of the past or coming state, he is betwixt and between all familiar lines of classification (turner 2). In other words, the liminal phase is the between state where the individual (the traveler) is in a state where they are not fully or properly either of two things. They have just left their current state and has yet entered or joined the next one. This phase is ambiguous because the individual social position is often not clear or the same as it was before. Dolphins on the other hand make the choice to take each and every breath, and when they become too stressed or overwhelmed, they will choose not to take that next breathe. Ongoing stress and the loss of space to swim in dolphinariums is demeaning to the incredible creatures and leads to many taking their lives or becoming something they were never designed to be. From the capturing process, to the living and training spaces, to the continuously forced performances they are required to do daily, these animals face an uncounted for amount of stress. The capturing process allows men to heard groups of dolphins together and trap them into small coves with nets and boats, then hand picking the wanted ones and dragging them away to never see open waters again. Project Orangutan talks about the capturing and the stress it inflicts on these animals, .. during the capturing process itself as they get entangled in nets and suffocate, others may die from stress. Not only do these animals recognize the loss of movement but the death of their friends around them. If the stress of being taken away from their home wasn t enough, they are then forced to live in concrete cells with no sound reflection. To us that seems fine but when your strongest sense is hearing and string enough to detect the difference between a ping pong ball and golf ball, the constant screaming and splashing of water around you begins to take a toll. Dolphins use a type of sound detection called echolocation, which can be damaged through time by the living conditions of dolphinariums. Dolphinproject.com talks about the lessening of sounds and vocalization of these animals in captivity, This reduction in vocalizations is due in part to the effect of the echo caused by the walls of the pools where dolphins are defined. The high noise frequency surround them for hours a day accompanied by the loss of socialization through their echolocation causes then even more stress and sadness. This alone can lead to one of these animals dying involuntarily, or even at their doing. The most popular fast food items are hamburgers and pizza, but Belgians are generally open to new tastes and are willing to support new fast food concepts. The Use Of Motifs In The Bean Trees Written by Barbara Kingsolver, The Bean Trees contains characters who demonstrate how living creatures are able to find methods of growing and transforming, despite unusual arrangements or lifestyle. Throughout the novel, in the chapters The One to Get Away and Dream Angels the use of motifs are greatly emphasized. Rebirth is one of the two important motifs, as the pattern of life and death is repeated in the novel. Frequently, this theme is connected with dualities: when one member of a pair passes, the other gains life force. The wisteria vines speak to the cooperative connections that predominant the novel, and most importantly, the development of bean trees speaks to the development of Turtle Greer and her development all through the novel. Bean, (128) Turtle s first word, symbolizes the guarantee that, similar to a dried up seed that grows, an emotionally or physically wounded woman may flourish if sufficiently given consideration. The bean trees, another name for the wisteria vine that Turtle spots in Dog Doo Park, symbolize change, a spot of life amidst infertility. The bean trees have a cooperative association with bugs called rhizobia, which climb up and down the wisteria vine s roots and give a system that transfer nutrients. Stravinsky s In The Night Neither the lighthearted Interplay nor (surprisingly, given the excellent cast and Chopin s music) the more serious In the Night made for particularly compelling watching during the first segment of the All Robbins No. 3 program. Nevertheless, I certainly wouldn t mind seeing either again, especially the latter. By contrast, despite having seen the ballet often during the past few years, the performance of The Cage fascinated me. This ballet contains some of the most inventive and original choreography for both soloists and corps in the entire NYCB repertoire. • 13. The Reign Of The New World Throughout the Medieval Ages, there were many political events which deem worthy of acknowledgement. From the year of 476 to 1500, events ranging from the reign of Charlemagne to Christopher Columbus s discovery of the New World occurred; without the events occurring in history, today s society would not be the same as it is today. The world may be ruled under one nation or many more countries may have formed. The important events which shaped the future include: Charlemagne s reign, the Crusades, the Hundred Years War, and Christopher Columbus s Voyage. The first significant political event which occurs between 500 and 1000 A.D. is the reign of Charlemagne. Bennett states, Charlemagne could be warm and talkative, but he could also be hard and cruel, and his subjects came to regard him with both admiration and fear (Bennett 89). Charlemagne s character and attitude are loved by some and unloved by some, but one thing cannot be denied: Charlemagne was the greatest king in the Medieval Ages. Charlemagne led an empire that was consistently at war with surrounding nations; the wars were strongly tied to conquests based on Christianity. Charlemagne prompted his nation to build churches, collect relics, and promote a Christian cultural revival. As Bennett explains, he had long been attempting to attain a status comparable to that of the rulers of Byzantium (92). By 813, Charlemagne rules both the Church and the State (Seguin Lecture). • 14. Ap World Population Chapter 1 Summary A man named Antoni van Leeuwenhoek dropped everything and ran with his wife to his worktable because he was viewing a sample through a glass that magnified everything to up to 100x. Nobody else had anything that powerful. He spent an enormous amount of time looking at spermatozoa, as they re now called. The sample he was viewing was spermatozoa. There were very few censuses. A single codfish s sperm cells were numbered at 150 billion. Leeuwenhoek concluded from his studies that there couldn t have been more than 13.385 billion people on Earth. Historians say that when Leeuwenhoek was alive, there was only about 500,000,000 people on Earth. When another scientist had discovered human egg cells a century and a half later, the population on Earth had doubled to more than a billion. At about 1930, it was at 2,000,000,000. • 15. Othello the Outsider Essay Othello the Outsider Shakespeare s tragic hero, Othello, was a man whose gifts far outnumbered his weaknesses. On the battlefield, he was accomplished; in his profession, he was highly ranked; and, in his life, he was blissfully married. Despite these great advantages, however, Othello s destiny was ruin. Everything he had so carefully made for himself would be destroyed by one flaw: his fear of remaining an outsider. He feared this fate, yet he harped on it continuously, tearing himself between his identity as a foreigner and his desire to live as a normal citizen. Even so far back as his first public speech, perturbations caused by this internal unrest surfaced, and it was unrest that would ultimately lead to his horrible and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If used too often, the approach turns from rhetoric into reality, and the speaker truly is set apart. This method of appeal is used in many places by Othello, sometimes in regular conversation, which leads to the feeling that he actually believes it. Later on, when Iago needs to prey upon a weakness in our hero, this self doubt turns out to be just the key to instilling distrust and jealousy. As this first portion of self effacement ends, the text sweeps into a section of grand language and imagery. Othello becomes picturesque for a moment, stating, For since these arms of mine had seven years pith / Till now some nine moons wasted, they have used / Their dearest action in the tented field; / And little of this great world can I speak / More than pertains to feats of broils and battle (page 19). Every line in this passage contains a descriptor of either vast time or vast expanse. The images produced by the use of words that describe large things deliver a spacious, worldly subtext meaning to Othello s literal meaning. Words such as, seven years, moons, field, and great world create an extensive, cosmopolitan view of his life that conflicts with the literal meaning of his speech, where he is bluntly saying that he does not know about anything beyond battle. The short, artistic detour of the middle of the speech is quickly focused back on topic, though, and it only takes one line before ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The New Form Of The Electric Industry Abstract The Norwegian parliament decided to restructure the electric power market following United Kingdom s adoption of The Energy Act in 1990 to promote market competition and improve efficiency. Nord Pool was founded in 1993 as a pool for electric power exchange and became the world s first integrated exchange platform to trade electric power contracts. This paper presents a summary of the several milestones in the development of the Nordic power market into its present form. The financial derivative market, the day ahead market, the intraday market and the major market participants in Nord Pool have been elaborated along with the mechanism used by Nord Pool to determine the spot price through market auctions. Also issues on limitations in available transmission capacity and congestion management in the form of price areas and buybacks have been discussed. Index Terms deregulation, transmission system operator, congestion management, available transmission capacity, day ahead market, price areas, buy back bids. I. Introduction THE early form of the electric industry, evolved around 1880 A.D. when electric lighting system became prevalent. At this time, there was a significant competition between electric utilities for customers. However, since the early 1900 s a general consensus developed that it is cheaper and economical to produce power at large scale, and hence the electric power industry changed to a natural monopoly structure. Many different forms of literature display multiple scenarios where the parents or sibling s perception of the world altar their own judgments of life or possibly even oneself. Think for a moment, from childhood the person or persons that you are the most familiar with most likely are the very people that you interact with on a daily basis. Most of the time, it would be your family or siblings that reside with you in your household. For example, a male who has continuously watched his father abuse his mother may one day become physically aggressive with his future companion or might even want to make sure he never puts his hands on any woman based on how it affects his mother. The way a person grows up and the influences that individual encounters can completely change the character of just about any human. Key features of the chaos theory such as attractors, Poincarè sections and phase space diagrams have been analysed and discussed. The programing language of choice for this experiment was Fortran 90, which has been written explicitly for the purposes of acquiring a chaotic system and solving the Duffing equation. Introduction The Duffing Oscillator named by the German electrical engineer Georg Duffing is a non linear, second order differential equation, periodically forced and includes a damping term proportional to particle s velocity. The equation can show different types of oscillations such as a limit cycles and chaos. Given its characteristics Duffing oscillators are often used to produce similar behaviours in nature. The equation in this experiment has been studied through the dynamics of a particle under a potential field, driven by an applied periodical force. The equation of motion for the particle in this system is (1) Where constant A gives the strength of a non linear term, B gives the strength of the linear term, C controls the size of damping, D controls the periodic driving force, and ω is the driving frequency. That day was absloute chaos, it felt so weird being there. After one day there I felt like I was completely out of place, and I was. None of the teachers really stood out to me, as people that i could look up to. A lot of the teachers were still trying to get certified and were still really young and immature. A few weeks passed and nothing worth talking about happened, but after the first nine weeks everything started going downhill, One girl in my class didn t exactly like me so she told the teachers that I was cheating on some stuff. When i wasn t, she took credit for some of the stuff i did and i had enough of it. I told my Mom and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Socrates started out as a stone mason who eventually devoted most of his time to philosophy. Socrates works of literature reflect his world views and opinions. These opinions had a fatal consequence; he was persecuted for corrupting the youth of Athens. Socrates was Plato s teacher and instructor. Plato used his works of literature to show his viewpoints. In his book, The Republic, he covered a wide range of topics that included social, educational, psychological, moral and philosophical ideas. In this book and The Apology, Plato criticized Athen s democracy for the persecution of his friend and teacher, Socrates. Plato then became the instructor of Aristotle. Through Aristotle s life in Thrace, and his intense schooling at the Academy, he was equipped with all of the knowledge that he needed to become the wise philosopher he is known as today. Aristotle discussed some of his opinions through his book, Politics. This book mainly focused on his views of the government and society. His schooling allowed him to advance in all subjects and discover new ideas. No the villagers should not be concerned that this virus will cause damage to their intestines because that is solely what cholera targets, and the purpose of the phages are to combat the cholera bacteria, which would in turn help their intestines. 5. The release of a toxin from the cholera bacteria is what causes people to experience the dreadful symptoms. A negative health concern of killing the cholera at a quick rate is that since the phages will prevent symptoms from increasingly becoming worse, the dead cholera in the intestine may sit there for a longer amount of time instead of running straight through the person which may do more damage to the intestine. 6. Humans should not be concerned about the bacteriophages infecting other cells because each bacteriophage is particular to a certain bacteria. If the bacterial cell exhibits traits that are desirable to the certain bacteriophage, then the phage will chose to bind and infect it, otherwise people have nothing to worry about. 7. If the bacteria became lysogenic, people would see improvements much faster, because more phages are being produced to combat the cholera bacteria. 8. Eventually the bacteriophages will die in the intestine since there will be no more bacteria to combat and live off of. 9. A risk to phage therapy is that the virus and bacteria both evolve over time. Using this method more frequently may cause the virus s to evolve more quickly. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
