Different Theories Of Psychology, And Beliefs And...
Everyone has their own philosophy about the way we live our lives, and how we follow a certain path
to get to our destination. One s philosophy may be based on their religious beliefs, what they were
taught growing up, or both. I was raised Christian and many of the beliefs I have stems from my
Christian roots. I was always told God was the reason a person behaved a certain way or the devil.
Now that I am older, and mostly due to my college education, I see the world differently. Before
learning about the different theories in psychology, and the beliefs and techniques that come with
them, I had applied many to my own life before. I am spiritual and I believe that many people are born
with destinies. I believe we are all on a path predetermined for us and that we take many detours along
the way. If we take the wrong detour, whether it be days, months, or years, something drastic will
happen to get us back on the right path. When we make friends, they either work out, or something
awful happens that ends the friendship. Once the air has been cleared, one can realize that a certain
person was leading us down the wrong path. The way we live life is largely influenced by the
company we keep and our upbringing. I have friends who were born in corrupt neighborhoods to
parents who were on drugs and they went down the same trail as them. Their environment played a
large part in how they chose to live their lives. Some people have a biological predisposition for drugs,

Man Is The Real Man Essay
As we may know from our school lessons in Biology, the human brain is mostly dormant we use only
a tiny fraction of its potential. Although scientists know much more now about the workings of the
human brain than they did 30 years ago, there are still vast areas of brain that have remained
unexplored and still mysterious. And the reason for this is that those silent areas of the brain were
created for supernatural purposes.
The gifts inherent in these parts of the brain were almost certainly used by a lot of Ancient mystics,
prophets, sages and wisemen and women as they could directly communicate with the Deities of the
Old and even understand the language of other creatures such as animals, plants and even faefolks.
However, years passed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are areas in man s nature that lie from man s physical senses and instruments but nevertheless
profoundly affect his body s well being. The great physician surgeon and Nobel prize winner, Dr.
Alexis Carrel, was humble enough to admit this fact in his monumental and highly readable book
called, Man, the Unknown.
Said Dr. Carrell:
Man, as known to the specialists, is far from being the concrete man, the real man. He is nothing but a
schema, consisting of other schemata built up by the techniques of each science... In fact, our
ignorance is profound... Immense regions of our inner world are still unknown.
In conclusion, third eye is for real, yes. It s our pineal gland! The aim of third eye or the power is to
facilitate or hasten the process so we may reach the goal faster, which is to understand the purpose our
purpose, our mission and such. The gifts should ennoble the spirit and make us all better human
beings, better walker of the path we choose to follow. No other purpose of third eye or the abilities is
valid in my humble opinions, except that it leads us to the Higher Consciousness. And the sooner we
realize that the Higher Ideals are within us all, the nearer we shall be to the

The Financial Crisis Of The Decade
The financial crisis of the decade is considered the largest and most severe compared to the Great
Depression. The crises reshaped the financing and investment banking business not only in the United
States but globally. The top largest banks have fallen due to the losses they have incurred in
connection with their investments in the subprime mortgage markets. (Financial Crises 2007 2008
Overview) Governments had to come up with some solutions in order to further avert the decline of
their country s economy as the financial crises of the United States overflowed into the global
financial and world economy. (Marshall, n.d).This paper discusses the history of the financial crisis its
causes, impacts, and the responses of governments and other institutions. The origins of the financial
crises The root causes of the financial crisis were a combination of debt and mortgage backed assets.
While inflation had been going up since the end of the World War the house prices in the United States
had been steadily rising at a much higher rate than the inflation trend. As shown in the chart the
fluctuations are few, but the trend had been upward. (Financial Crises 2007 2008 Overview). Prior to
the financial crisis with rising prices of housing in the United States banks and investment managers
had been looking for more loans and credit to offer potential homeowners. The funding of credits had
been backed by real estate or through investments in construction companies which were

Benefits Of Getai
Introduction In the report of the arts and culture strategic review (ACSR) 2012, getai is categorized as
an arts form. Through this essay, I will be exploring the arguments against the decision to include
getai as an art form and weighing the pro and cons on whether getai should be considered as an art
form and if it hold enough substantial values for it to be looked into and preserved by the government
as an important musical genre. In this essay, I will be touching on the different definitions of art and if
getai fulfils more than one of them. Also, I will be exploring the different benefits that come from
accepting that getai is a form of art and the controversy of regarding getai as a form of art. This essay
will also comment on what this perception reveals about the direction of arts policy in Singapore and
how this will affect the performing arts in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Culture can be said to be a subset of the arts and looking a getai, it carries with it many strong cultural
values. It does fulfill a number of definitions of art and bring about many benefits such as community
and social involvement. Getai is a form of community art that needs to be preserved and better
appreciated by the younger generation of Singaporeans. The ACSR s vision for 2025 is to have a
nation of cultured and gracious people, at home with our heritage, proud of our Singaporean identity.
Therefore, to be at home with our heritage, and proud of our identity, Singapore should not just look
into making arts for everyone, everywhere, everyday , but instead, to tap on art forms that are uniquely
local, art forms that display a strong tradition, heritage and national identity that the community can
relate and feel an emotional bond towards. Getai should be one of the genres so more focus and efforts
can be put in place to preserve and promote it within the younger

Classical Civilizations And Ancient Civilizations
Classical civilizations (approximately ~1000BCE to 600 CE) These emerging civilizations were much
larger than the earlier ones of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indus Valley and Shang China displaying more
complex political, economic, cultural, and military organization. All civilizations traded with others
and many conquered new territories. Classical civilizations include those such as Zhou and Han
China, the Gupta Empire in India, and the Mediterranean civilizations of Greece and Rome. 6th C

Persia during the Persian War (546 479 BCE) and came to a decline after the Peloponnesian War (431

status. Greece excelled in government, philosophy, art, poetry and drama. The Golden Age also
marked the creation of democracy in Athens. Theaters promoted famous playwrights, architecture
including the Parthenon art and sculptures was created, and famous philosophers including Plato and
Socrates significantly impacted the thought processes of that time. 507 BCE 31 BCE: Establishment

How Does Cassius Use Ethos In Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar Funeral Speech Analysis There are many different ways to appeal to an audience or any
group of people. One very clever way of doing this would be to use logos, pathos and ethos. Logos
uses inductive or deductive reasoning by citing facts as evidence, therefore proving their point using
logical evidence. Another technique that an author can use is Pathos, when using pathos the author
tries to appeal to the emotions of the audience by describing the effect of a situation, essentially trying
to affect the audience s emotions. When using Ethos it is important for the author to establish
themselves as a trustworthy, respectful, and knowledgeable person. Doing this the author can use
ethical information to win over the audience. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the first times that Brutus uses Pathos is in Act three when he says, Had you rather Caesar were
living and die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead and live all as free men?(III. ii. ll. 23 24 )Brutus
was saying that if Caesar would have not been killed that all of them would have become slaves, but
now since he is dead they can all live as free men and women. By saying this Brutus was affecting the
people s emotions by saying what would would have been their future by using pathos. The next
rhetorical strategy that Brutus uses would be logos. Brutus uses logos when he says ... that I loved
Caesar less, but I loved Rome more (III. ii. l. 122). When Brutus says this he means that he killed
Caesar for the good of Rome, not because he hated Caesar. The last rhetorical device that Brutus uses
is ethos. Brutus uses ethos when he says Believe me for mine honor , and have respect to mine honor,
that you may believe (II. ii. LL. 14 16). When Brutus says this he wants the plebeians to remember
how honorable of a man he is and to keep that in mind so that they will believe what he has to

Symbolism In The Tell Tale Heart And The Tell Tale Heart
How does the symbolism affect the meaning of a written piece, does it make it more or less important?
Symbolism is used to represent ideas; that may imply deeper, hidden meaning than what the text
directly states. Symbolism can be used in different ways throughout different books; for example, The
Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allen Poe and Once upon a Time , by Nadine Gordimer, contain a variety of
symbolism that have the possibility of having two or more meanings. The problem with this is
identifying what the text could really mean, and how that changes the story. How does comparing the
use of symbolism in both stories and showing the difference in the stories direct text and length, with
and without the implied symbolism, answer the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has the old man murdered in his personal bedroom in his bed as the killer s weapon. Symbolism in
this work of literature is highly important; without it the story would be a slightly confusing, shown in
the ending of the story when the murder hears the heartbeat, getting louder and louder, but nobody
else can hear it and then admits his guilt attempting to stop the sound, metaphorically saying that the
guilt (represented by the heart) he carried with him after murdering the old man grew and grew as if it
was going to burst out of him, leading him to confess so his subconscious (also represented by the
heart ) would be put at ease. Evident by the following quote, Villains! I shrieked , dissemble no more!I
admit the deed! tear up the planks! here, here! It is the beating of his hideous heart! . Without the use
of symbolism in these quotes, the meaning of the quotes and the rest of the piece would mean
something completely different; Similar to what would happen in, Once Upon a Time by Nadine
Gordimer, if you took out the symbolic pieces and read it specifically as it was written. Like in Poe s
previously stated piece, Once Upon a Time , by Nadine Gordimer is mostly made up of symbolism
due to the fact that the story takes place

The Production Of Automobile Production
According to Amighini and Gorgoni (2014), Automobile production is one of the operations in the
manufacturing segment of production that is highly spatially disintegrated, characterized by
production activities that are broken down into different units and take place in various countries in
the world. The production processes are highly dispersed. Amighini and Gorgoni (2014) explain
reasons for the dispersed nature of the production system. The automobile industry has been made to
implement modern sourcing techniques stemming from the growth in leading edge inputs in
contemporary cars, such as computer and electronic facilities, according to Amighini and Gorgoni

The automobile industry has experienced different progressions. Marukawa (2013) makes reference to
the World Motor Vehicle Statistics. According to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics, gathered by the
Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, some countries that had a vast collection of automobile
corporations in 2010 were the United Kingdom, which had 21 automobile manufacturers, and
Malaysia, which had 26 automobile manufacturers. However, China had to a greater extent the highest
number of automobile manufacturers in the world, according to the World Motor Vehicle Statistics.
According to Marukawa (2013), an important characteristic of the Chinese automobile industry is the
magnitude of small scale producers. Marukawa (2013) discovered that car and engine production are
mostly vertically fragmented in China. Research by Marukawa (2013) showed that firms that want to
enter the industry could outsource production inputs such as engines and design, which minimizes the
entry restrictions for new firms in the industry. The minimization of entry restrictions, and the rising
demand for automobiles in China favored entry into the automobile industry, according to Marukawa
(2013).
Research by Marukawa (2013) discovered that in the 1990s, corporations that belonged to the
government had the ease of protecting domestic markets through governing the operations of the
domestic producers. However, households have now become the primary consumers of cars, and as a
result,

Ted Cruz game plan is to win over young voters, and part of that strategy, he said, is to use his sense

The Between Vigne s And Davis s Accounts
Davis s monograph demonstrates the complexity of the story that Vigne failed to incorporate as well
as to point out the differences of the interpretations between Vigne s and Davis s accounts. Davis
provides a detailed description of the two trials of the accused imposter. The first trial occurs at a local
court in Rieux, where the imposter is charged with stealing another person s identity and
impersonating Martin s life, while in the film the trial occurs in the same village of Artigat. Pierre
Guerre, Martin s uncle, presents the charge of imposture. Davis argues that Bertrande implies her
support for the accusation with the hopes that Pierre would lose the case against the imposter.
Bertrande proceeds to protect herself by coaching the imposter covertly while publicly supporting the
move by Pierre. Specifically, Davis asserts that the couple worked out a plan to follow during the trials
to counter Pierre s arguments. Bertrande either by explicit or tacit agreement ... helped him become
her husband (Benson 44). The trial declares the imposter guilty of the crime and sentence him to
death, but he appeals the case. After the trial, according to Davis, there was a scheme by the couple to
show Pierre coerced Bertrande into lying for him. Consequently, Davis interprets Bertrande s actions
as a double game. Bertrande first sends him [the imposter] food and money to indicate her support, but
then she agrees with Pierre that she will become a plaintiff (56). Davis shows

Introduction
Risk sharing occurs when both the parties finds the risk and agrees to share the loss that may occurs
due to that risk. The co investors and joint ventures get into the risk sharing arrangements by defining
their true contribution and limiting their commitments related to their future and financial
commitments. The risk sharing arrangements or contracts are usually prevented into the Outsourcing
Transactions where one has physical control over the process and the other party has been prevented
from such control and therefore these kind of arrangements prefer to go on with the Fee for Service

Longing For An Escape By James Joyce
Longing For An Escape An abusive situation can certainly make one person dream of an escape, but
what happens in most cases? Oftentimes a person gets too afraid to leave, remembering promises, or
in some cases, wondering what might happen to the other people who are left in the home if the
abusive person escapes. James Joyce s story, Eveline, is based on a young woman who is in an
emotional time, but is trying to start a new life due to a rough life; then a reflection from the past
strikes her and she just cannot break a promise to someone who meant so much to her. Eveline is only
19 years old and lives in an abusive home that is making her tired (Joyce) as the narrator suggests
frequently, which is not common for most women her age. Eveline s abuse started at an early age: Her
father used often to hunt them in out of the field with his blackthorn stick... is a quote used by Joyce to
describe one form of abuse in the past used on the children when they were growing up. In fact, Joyce
even goes on to say, Her father was not so bad then... showing that the abuse has only grown worse as
the children have gotten older. Eveline definitely lived in fear of her father. The narrator states, she
sometimes felt herself in danger of her father s violence (Joyce), and the fear was so bad that it had
given her the palpitations (Joyce), which are beats of the heart too hard or fast, or even skipping beats
typically caused by stress or anxiety. Her father also verbally abused

Conflict Of The Case Of Online Defamation
CONFLICT OF LAWS IN CASE OF ONLINE DEFAMATION
The new age of information has caused scholars to consider the adequacy of traditional jurisdictional
regimes where interstate disputes arise. Many scholars argue that traditional choice of law doctrines
are inadequate to determine which state of law applies in inter state cyber disputes.
In case of online defamation, considering this crime is not restricted to one particular geographical
boundary, it is important to analyze as to which particular law will apply to the case at hand. There
appear to be three stages involved:
(a) the inquiry whether there is a conflict of policy,
(b) the inquiry whether there is a conflict in application, and,
(c) if the answer to the previous two questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the wrong must be of such a character that it would have been actionable if committed in
England [the place of the forum]...Secondly, the act must not have been justifiable by the law of the
place where it was done.
The Conflict of Law Rules under the Common Law system have been codified by way of the Private
International Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act passed in 1995. This however excludes defamation.
Under the tort of defamation if it takes place in England (here in India) then it is stated that law of
forum shall be followed as the lex fori and the lex loci deliciti are the same.
In case of multi state defamation a fresh tort is committed in each country in which publication occurs.
More radically, the concept of the place of the tort could be abandoned altogether and replaced in
cases of multi state defamation by a rule applying one of the following: (i) law of the claimant s
domicil or residence , (ii) the law of the country which with respect to the particular issues has the
most significant relationship with the occurrence and with the parties.
The latter half of this is followed under the American approach for torts has been summarized under s.

relationship rule to apply in case of defamation. Most of the

Rousseau s Discourse On The Origin Of Inequality
Rousseau, in his Discourse on the Origin of Inequality of Men, discusses the beginning and
development of inequality of individuals. Rousseau seeks to discern whether the unequal treatment of
men is dictated by natural laws or if it is a man made creation. When Rousseau analyzes humans in the
state of nature, he claims we are all animalistic by nature. Humans in the state of nature are motivated
by self preservation much like animals and also pity. The difference between man and animals
according to Rousseau is man s perfectibility. Because man has very minimal needs in the state of
nature, no concept of morality and limited interaction with other individuals, he is generally happy.
Because in the state of nature man embodies the quality of perfectibility, he is able to adapt with his
environment. As nature drives men to leave certain areas it forces them to learn new skills as they
come in to contact with one another more often. As man connects with more and more individuals
around him he becomes aware that he has more needs. As men begin to live in societies with more
people they start comparing themselves to those around them and self preservation and pity are no
longer their main goals. Now, they have to do more work in order to be happy such as raise to greater
heights then their fellow humans. Moral inequality is created as division of labor and property rights
are invented. Owning property allows the rich to take advantage of the poor, leading to unstable
relations

Ethics, The, And Social Harm Essay
The researcher is acutely aware of himself or herself regarding sensitivity towards the respondent.
Furthermore, concerning some unforeseen or unexpected mistakes those need attention. Followings
are some of the required precautions to avoid some common ethics: psychological, financial and social
harm. Professional researchers always plan the research questions or the questionnaire to prevent any
harassment (Waller, 2011). The preparation of ethics is one of the prerequisites items before engaging
in questionnaires, interviews, or surveys whether it is online or paper. In this respect, the researcher s
To Do List should include the importance of checking the prerequisites of these methods. To ensure
that NO HARM is potential, the following are imperatives (Waller, 2011):

Protect all members engaged in research such as the instructor, the assistants on the methods, if any,
and the researcher himself or herself. On this point, the form of ethics is essential before embarking on
research or study.
Other than these, the research will extensively use secondary data sources such as books, journals,

have the energy because he was hungry. No matter how hard I tried to distract him with coloring or

think that someone s hunger could be so bad that they cannot do anything. Food is a necessity, and
being deprived of it can make you feel less human. I hate that in this rich, industrialized nation, there
are severe problems. We need to focus on ending hunger in America, and places like St. Pats will help
do that. We need to support these programs and expand them to reach all of the hunger insecure. By

Barefoot Running Essay
Footwear, accepted and denied
Running for sport and recreation are perhaps as unique as the enthusiasts who first roused the market.
Today, that market (running shoes) is changing. While the 21st century has propelled us into an age of
hyper engineered performance gear and space age wicking fabrics; barefoot running has reinvented
the marketplace, while simultaneously inspiring the new generation (Sprinkle 2004).
The idea that running barefoot can be beneficial is a relatively liberal idea in a comparatively
conservative culture (today s running community, particularly with respect to shoes). And, while the
majority of research on the evolution of human locomotion has focused primarily on walking, the
demand for a new perspective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Still, provided that running is generally considered to have played no major role in human evolution it
s likely that the shoe industry (in combination with barefoot advocates) will, for some time, continue
to influence popular opinion more than concrete, reliable research (Nature 2004).
In an August 2004 issue of Runner s World magazine, Amby Burfoot quoted England s Bruce Tulloh:
The only reason that more people don t run barefoot is that they re afraid to be unconventional.
Burfoot adds, Famous runners had gone barefoot before us, of course. In 1960 Ethiopia s Abebe
Bikila, won the first of his consecutive gold medals sans shoes in a world record 2:15:17. Though
Burfoot and Tulloh s points are relevant, there is a heavy bias that remains, attached to their
competitive running accolades. Amby Burfoot was himself a competitive U.S. Marathoner, whose

Judicial Review Essay
JUDICIAL REVIEW AND THE INDIAN COURTS
Introduction
Judicial Review is basically an aspect of judicial power of the state which is exercised by the courts to
determine the validity of a rule of law or an action of any agency of the state. The courts have the
power of testing the validity of legislative as well as other governmental action with reference to the
provisions of the constitution. The judiciary tries to undo the harm that is being done by the legislature
and executive and they also try to provide every citizen what has been guaranteed by the constitution.
Judicial review has a more technical significance in pubic law, particularly in countries having a
written constitution which are founded on the concept of limited government. ... Show more content

Judicial Review in India
The constitution of India, in this respect, is more similar to the U.S. Constitution than the British.
Under the constitution of India parliament is not supreme. Its powers are limited in the two ways.
First, there is the division of powers between the union and the states. Parliament is competent to pass
laws only with respect to those subjects which are guaranteed to the citizens against every form of
legislative encroachment. The power of judicial review of legislation is given to the judiciary both by
the political theory and text of the constitution. There are several specific provisions in the Indian
constitution, judicial review of legislation such as Act 13, 32, 131 136, 143, 226, 145, 246, 251, 254
and 372.
Judicial review is a great weapon in the hands of judges. It comprises the power of a court to hold
unconstitutional and unenforceable any law or order based upon such law or any other action by a
public authority which is inconsistent or in conflict with the basic law of the land. In fact, the study of
constitutional law may be described as a study of the doctrine of judicial review in action. The courts
have power to strike down any law, if they believe it to be unconstitutional.
In the case I.R. Coelho v. State of Tamil Nadu the court laid down a two fold test: : (a) whether an
amendment or a law is violative of any of the Fundamental Rights in Part III (b) if so, whether the
violation

Emotional Intelligence In Healthcare Leaders
Daniel Goleman an author and phycologist once cited that if our emotional abilities aren t in hand and
we do not possess self awareness as well as not able to manage our distressing emotions and if we can
t have empathy as well as effective relationships, then no matter how smart we are, we are not going
to get very far(Goleman, 1995).
Harnessing ones emotions is having emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is the capability to
recognize and regulate one s own mental state and the emotions of others. For a leader to control their

The capacity to accurately distinguish your own feelings and those of others will end up being a
quality that can help in the success of an organization. Health leaders with emotional intelligence who
harness self awareness will help them to understand their team, be reasonable with regards to solving
any problems. The value of possessing emotional intelligence will put health leaders in a mindset of
concentrating on results and make them adaptable to change.
Emotional Intelligence has affected leaders in making them actual change agents which is a key
characteristic and part of being an effective leader. People with a high degree of emotional intelligence
know what they re feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect other people
(The Mind Tools Editorial Team).
What good outcome has come from a leader who has no control of his emotions and screams at his

What make us think that the intention of the country is only to take advantage of foreign labor.
Because of this, a change is necessary so that the regulation is more suited to new world reality, where
we live in a globalized world. A world quite different from 80 s that time for example there was no

The Brazilian immigration policy presents problems like the exaggerated national security idea, the

The excessive bureaucracy hinders the process of obtaining documentation for foreigners. According

Clear Channel and the Cultural and Socio Political Ramifications of Media Consolidation
I.INTRODUCTION
In 1996, Congress passed the Telecommunications Act thereby lifting restrictions on media ownership
that had been in place for over sixty years (Moyers 2003; Bagdikian 2000: xviii). It was now possible
for a single media company to own not just two radio stations in any given local market, but eight. On
the national level, there was no longer any limit on the number of stations a company could own the
Act abandoned the previous nation wide ownership cap of forty stations (20 FM and 20 AM). This
anti regulatory sentiment in government has continued and in 2004 the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) approved a new rule that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2004: 3; Chen 2003).
While the phenomenon of rampant media consolidation made possible by the government s
deregulatory practices has been greeted with general enthusiasm by the corporate world, it has left
others in society gravely concerned. Media critics and cultural studies observers have voiced concerns
over the negative consequences they believe accompany the phenomenon. They see the erosion of the
idea that radio is to serve the public interest; they see a stifling of diversity and less choice for the
consumer; and they see a threat to American democracy in the form of a possibly insurmountable
corporate media hegemony. And for many, Clear Channel is the poster child for what s wrong with
media deregulation (Cornell Univ. 2004: 66).
Unfortunately however, a February 2004 poll by the Pew Research Center found that 72 percent of the
public has heard nothing about the media ownership [and consolidation] debate (Connell 2004).
Understanding how corporate mergers and consolidation affect the way in which the media function
(especially in the realms of production and distribution) and how the media in turn directly impacts
our society, our culture, our economy, and our politics in short, our entire lives is a necessary

Health Care Policy Debate
In this paper will discuss the health care policy debate by explaining the current health policy debate
regarding the Affordable Care Act. This paper will showcase the values, markets, and morals as well
as the fairness and availability of care. It will look at who wins and who loses and discuss equity,
efficiency, and effectiveness. Lastly, this paper will show my own experiences and opinions of the
healthcare debate and where I stand on the subject. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was enacted in
March 2010 the purpose of the act is to help uninsured individuals attain healthcare coverage at a
reasonable price. Critics of the ACA have resurrected doubts about its cost containment measures and
overall fiscal impact. (Orszag Emanuel 2010) Values in Health Policy When looking at the value of
health care policies we have to look at fairness and efficiency, the term efficiency wears a lot of caps,
generally when efficiency suites one person it impacts the other person. One example is a cost analysis
that was done on how much time it took for new patients to be treated at my current employer. They
looked at how much time was used for each portion of the appointment. The results revealed that if the
appointment time were shortened by ten minutes the facility would show a better profit because more
patients would be seen. However, this frustrated the patients and families because they were being
rushed through their appointments and the patient satisfaction scores were

Gilded Age Hero
The world is constantly evolving. Time periods come and go, but certain ones stay with us and are

world today. The Gilded Age is the period in American history from around 1870 1900 s where the
United States population and economy grew quickly in a short amount of time causing extensive
amounts of slave work and wealthy individuals to live pretentious lifestyles. During this period, John

Rockefeller was in fact a villain, he is also thought of as a hero to the Gilded Age because of the few
good acts he did. During the Gilded Age, oil was very expensive and difficult to acquire.Overall, only
the wealthy and well privileged had much access to it, but Standard Oil developed the world s largest
oil refineries and drove down the cost of refining oil, (World Book, Rockefeller). With Rockefeller as
the head of the company, he was able to expand access of oil to those who didn t have as much money
and produce large amounts of oil for little cost. With his new ideas and methods, he was able to cut
down oil cost and produce more of it more efficiently and quicker than that of the past. Due to
becoming one of the wealthiest individuals in the United States, Rockefeller had a substantial amount
of money and He gave away about $540 million during his lifetime. He gave most of his money to the
public through foundations he established himself and through other organizations, (World Book,
Rockefeller). These other foundations, which were mainly universities, highly profited and grew off of
these generous donations from Rockefeller. They are still functioning today and Rockefellers impact
on them has never been forgotten. As a result, John D. Rockefeller was thought of to be a hero rather
than a villain. Besides all this good he may have done, his selfish acts can t go unseen and unnoticed
from his action.
John D Rockefeller lived a higher, better life than almost every American during this time age. He also
obtained an extravagant amount of power through his work and company. His good deeds were
overruled by his many bad deeds therefore making him a villain rather than a hero.

This narrative criticism was completed using online resources, comparative biblical texts including the

Christian communities, most likely Gentile Christians in Rome, based on the explanations of Jewish

The disciples are also in this story, we see that they have no interaction with the man or his situation

Additionally, the crowd of people that were frightened by the exorcism and the subsequent drowning

Athenian system of juries and the modern American judicial system is in the size of the actual jury.
The Athenian jury structure is made up of a very large number of jurors. For example, during Socrates

the jury is only composed of twelve jurors. Another difference in the structure of the two systems is in

ship is now a 110ft, 300 ton ship with 40 canons (Hamilton 8 9). Aboard the Queen Anne s Revenge
Blackbeard never let his crew forget who was incharge. Some of Blackbeard s crew was foolish
enough to accept a crazy challenge. The challenge was to see who could stay below deck in a room
while sulfur was burning the longest. Once the the sulfur was lit crew members were running to get

John Locke And Locke s Theory Of Personal Identity
A person is a thinking thing that has reason and reflection and thinks of itself as the same thinking
thing over time. John Locke, an English philosopher argued that what makes a person able to identify
themselves through time is continuity of one s memories and not the substance of the body. Bernard
Williams, another English philosopher criticized Locke s theory of personal identity through his body
switching experiment. William s argued that personal identity is found on the body and continuity of
one s memories isn t necessary for personal identity. I am going to argue that personal identity is
found on continuity of one s memories by presenting Locke s view of personal identity, presenting
William s criticism of Locke s theory through his body switching experiments, and providing my own
reasons on why personal identity can be found on continuity of one s memories and not the substance
of the body. John Locke argued that people are able to identify themselves through time if they have
continuity of memory. According to Locke, personal identity is found on continuity of memory and
not the substance of either the soul or body.1 If humans were to lose their memory, it would be
impossible to identify themselves just based upon their bodies. Memory must be preserved in order to
preserve your personal identity.2 Locke, describes that all life forms in this universe are made up of

important. Developing some surveys and organizing the meetings among the staff are helpful ways to
learn and exchange ideas and thoughts about DJJ s mission and values. The surveys may include the
degree of staff satisfaction about the current mission statement and, in case if disagreement, include
ways to change and improve the statement. Then, targeting the customers that DJJ would mainly serve
and focus on is an efficient way to identify the external stakeholders and clarify the core purpose of
DJJ. * Review the Historical Experience and Current Context Past experience can help DJJ to think
about the comparative advantages they had in the area of juvenile delinquents care. Reviewing the
past may help DJJ to find out what the staff truly believed in as well. It would also help DJJ to check
whether there was some mission drifting or other types of failure on fulfilling the mission. Some
mistakes and faults from past may also help DJJ to adjust the mission statement as well. Furthermore,
checking current context would assist DJJ to articulate the expectations of the external stakeholders
and adjust the mission statement to fit the current social context so that the statement would not be
unrealistic or behind the times. * Consider the Desired Results

Daniel Orozco’s “Orientation”
The new employee is unimportant in Daniel Orozco s Orientation
The short story Orientation by Daniel Orozco is a unique story. Orozco never introduces the narrator
or the audience. The story appears to be, just as the title specifies, an orientation for a person entering
a new job. The story, however, delves deep into the lives of several employees throughout the story.
The lives of these employees and their interactions become the most important part of Orozco s work

Orozco painfully jolts the reader back to reality, the office setting, no matter how disturbing the
described experiences of an employee have been. This is evident in the passage about Kevin Howard,
the serial killer.
The carnage inflicted is precise: the angle and direction of the incisions; the layering of skin and
muscle tissue; the rearrangement of the visceral organs; and so on. Kevin Howard does not let any of
this interfere with his work. He is, in fact, our fastest typist.
The disturbing description of the serial killer is recited without any waver whatsoever away from the
intent only to divulge information. The narrator makes no personal comment and expresses no opinion
about Howard. After the narrator has given the information to the listener, the narrator leads the train
of thought right back to the work environment. The idea of a horrible mass murderer is interrupted by
his typing ability. This continued contrast now goes past unstable and borders on psychotic. The far
fetched is made believable only because of the narrator s complete professional façade. By itself,
speaking of a mass murderer s typing ability does seem psychotic, but the narrator has so completely
described every aspect of the listener s new surroundings that any individual part of the surrounding
does not seem overly important. The characters are merely present and described as they are. This
description does not affect any character, so there is no real

Safe Deposit Box Essay
In the initial stages of claiming the assets, everything was going well until I found out that the
belligerent beneficiary was the new owner of the safe deposit box (the box). As described in the article
Opening the Safe Deposit Box of an Estate, the executor must follow a process to open a safe deposit
box that is part of an estate. So, as executor, I had to carry out the following tasks after the gruesome
discovery:
Call the beneficiary to inform the beneficiary that they own the safe deposit box.
Inform the beneficiary that they must be present in order to open the box.
Instruct the beneficiary to call the bank and set an appointment to open the box.
Since the key wasn t found at the estate, ask the beneficiary about the key.
While on the phone with the belligerent beneficiary, I knew the beneficiary would take this
opportunity to try and extort more property from the estate, or, try to get more involved with the
management of the estate. As the business portion of the call ended, sure enough, the conversation
switched to personal property. The beneficiary felt entitled to more property and didn t hold back
expressing that point. When I denied the request, the beneficiary threatened to sue me. As I ended ...

The belligerent beneficiary arrived on time with the spouse as I witnessed them, from my car, yelling
at each other walking into the bank. Seeing this behavior, I decided to wait in the car until the couple
walked into the bank before I headed for the bank. As I walked into the bank, I approached the couple
and thanked them for helping me open the safe deposit box. The beneficiary then asked for five
minutes alone in the viewing room while the couple looked through the box. Before I could respond,
the bank official arrived at her desk and asked for the $75.00 fee to have the locksmith drill open the
box. The process began immediately after handing the bank official the check for the

Garrett Hardin Lifeboat Ethics Essay
While reading Lifeboat Ethics: the Case Against Helping the Poor by Garrett Hardin, I found myself
agreeing with what he had to say throughout most of his essay, for this reason I decided to write about
it for my essay. About halfway through I thought that he was very good at presenting his case against
helping the poor. Saying that outright sounds cruel and selfish but in the end, it isn t. Putting things
into analogies it sometimes the only way to make people understand the point that you are trying to
get across. That s what Hardin does in the section Adrift in a Moral Sea when he talks about the
lifeboats. When he compared helping people when you re already maxed out to helping people into an
already overcrowded lifeboat. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hardin provides the statistic that poor countries increase by 2.5% each year whereas poor countries
increase by .08% each year and although yes, people dying is sad but the overpopulation of poor
countries and shortage of food it somewhat of a natural population control. Although it is a blunt way
of saying it, Hardin is right when you stop and think about it. As barbaric as it sounds, without that
natural population control those countries would grow at an exponential rate and the impoverished
conditions would go thru the roof cause the gap between the rich and the poor to become ocean wide.
Some people believe that the answer to food shortages is genetically fixed food that survive better in
bad weather conditions and although that may help but in this section titled Chinese Fish and Miracle
Rice Hardin disagreed with that statement and in this particular section he didn t so as well of a job
getting his point across as he did in previous sections because he compared it to cancer and in my
opinion it was a stretch and didn t quite make any

Birth Control Contraceptive Pill
While riding on the Metro the other day, I passed by a few Alesse birth control pill at the McGill
station, and I paused for a moment to think about the effect that female contraceptive has had through
time. In other words, I thought about the socioeconomic effects of the birth control pill on woman. To
begin, the pill was created first in 1957 for severe menstrual problems and re released in 1960 for
contraceptive use, meaning that it stops pregnancy. The idea to create the pill came into place when
the development of synthetic hormones happened in the 1930 s. Many clinical trials took place in
Puerto Rico, since the territory had non strict laws on contraceptives. My goal in this paper is to bring
into evidence, with many sources, how birth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The release of the pill has had a huge influence on the choice of many women s careers, both directly
and indirectly. Direct effect of the pill refers to the reduction in cost of living due to marriage delay.
The pill has helped delay marriage, which has helped make career investments much more attainable
by having less obligations (Harvard education). If a woman gets married at a young age, she and/or
her husband would have to spend a large amount of money on their marriage and that would make it
much harder to get educated than to only spend and concentrate on her education. Also, by indirect
effect of the pill , this refers to a widening of the marriage market for those who delay marriage, which
can lead to having better matches in their career and even better romantic partners because of their
education (Harvard education). If a woman is married at a young age, a time where education is
important, one can say that career investment is often not possible. This is why when the contraceptive
pill launched, women had the chance to have sexual intercourse with a person without having to marry
them, and thus, more sexual freedom compared to the time before the famous pill was available. It can
be seen how the pill gave women a chance to make steady

  • 2. Different Theories Of Psychology, And Beliefs And... Everyone has their own philosophy about the way we live our lives, and how we follow a certain path to get to our destination. One s philosophy may be based on their religious beliefs, what they were taught growing up, or both. I was raised Christian and many of the beliefs I have stems from my Christian roots. I was always told God was the reason a person behaved a certain way or the devil. Now that I am older, and mostly due to my college education, I see the world differently. Before learning about the different theories in psychology, and the beliefs and techniques that come with them, I had applied many to my own life before. I am spiritual and I believe that many people are born with destinies. I believe we are all on a path predetermined for us and that we take many detours along the way. If we take the wrong detour, whether it be days, months, or years, something drastic will happen to get us back on the right path. When we make friends, they either work out, or something awful happens that ends the friendship. Once the air has been cleared, one can realize that a certain person was leading us down the wrong path. The way we live life is largely influenced by the company we keep and our upbringing. I have friends who were born in corrupt neighborhoods to parents who were on drugs and they went down the same trail as them. Their environment played a large part in how they chose to live their lives. Some people have a biological predisposition for drugs, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although scientists know much more now about the workings of the human brain than they did 30 years ago, there are still vast areas of brain that have remained unexplored and still mysterious. And the reason for this is that those silent areas of the brain were created for supernatural purposes. The gifts inherent in these parts of the brain were almost certainly used by a lot of Ancient mystics, prophets, sages and wisemen and women as they could directly communicate with the Deities of the Old and even understand the language of other creatures such as animals, plants and even faefolks. However, years passed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are areas in man s nature that lie from man s physical senses and instruments but nevertheless profoundly affect his body s well being. The great physician surgeon and Nobel prize winner, Dr. Alexis Carrel, was humble enough to admit this fact in his monumental and highly readable book called, Man, the Unknown. Said Dr. Carrell: Man, as known to the specialists, is far from being the concrete man, the real man. He is nothing but a schema, consisting of other schemata built up by the techniques of each science... In fact, our ignorance is profound... Immense regions of our inner world are still unknown. In conclusion, third eye is for real, yes. It s our pineal gland! The aim of third eye or the power is to facilitate or hasten the process so we may reach the goal faster, which is to understand the purpose our purpose, our mission and such. The gifts should ennoble the spirit and make us all better human beings, better walker of the path we choose to follow. No other purpose of third eye or the abilities is valid in my humble opinions, except that it leads us to the Higher Consciousness. The crises reshaped the financing and investment banking business not only in the United States but globally. The top largest banks have fallen due to the losses they have incurred in connection with their investments in the subprime mortgage markets. (Financial Crises 2007 2008 Overview) Governments had to come up with some solutions in order to further avert the decline of their country s economy as the financial crises of the United States overflowed into the global financial and world economy. (Marshall, n.d).This paper discusses the history of the financial crisis its causes, impacts, and the responses of governments and other institutions. The origins of the financial crises The root causes of the financial crisis were a combination of debt and mortgage backed assets. While inflation had been going up since the end of the World War the house prices in the United States had been steadily rising at a much higher rate than the inflation trend. As shown in the chart the fluctuations are few, but the trend had been upward. (Financial Crises 2007 2008 Overview). Prior to the financial crisis with rising prices of housing in the United States banks and investment managers had been looking for more loans and credit to offer potential homeowners. The funding of credits had been backed by real estate or through investments in construction companies which were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through this essay, I will be exploring the arguments against the decision to include getai as an art form and weighing the pro and cons on whether getai should be considered as an art form and if it hold enough substantial values for it to be looked into and preserved by the government as an important musical genre. In this essay, I will be touching on the different definitions of art and if getai fulfils more than one of them. • 8. How Does Cassius Use Ethos In Julius Caesar Julius Caesar Funeral Speech Analysis There are many different ways to appeal to an audience or any group of people. One very clever way of doing this would be to use logos, pathos and ethos. Logos uses inductive or deductive reasoning by citing facts as evidence, therefore proving their point using logical evidence. Another technique that an author can use is Pathos, when using pathos the author tries to appeal to the emotions of the audience by describing the effect of a situation, essentially trying to affect the audience s emotions. Symbolism is used to represent ideas; that may imply deeper, hidden meaning than what the text directly states. Symbolism can be used in different ways throughout different books; for example, The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allen Poe and Once upon a Time , by Nadine Gordimer, contain a variety of symbolism that have the possibility of having two or more meanings. The Between Vigne s And Davis s Accounts Davis s monograph demonstrates the complexity of the story that Vigne failed to incorporate as well as to point out the differences of the interpretations between Vigne s and Davis s accounts. Davis provides a detailed description of the two trials of the accused imposter. The first trial occurs at a local court in Rieux, where the imposter is charged with stealing another person s identity and impersonating Martin s life, while in the film the trial occurs in the same village of Artigat. Oftentimes a person gets too afraid to leave, remembering promises, or in some cases, wondering what might happen to the other people who are left in the home if the abusive person escapes. James Joyce s story, Eveline, is based on a young woman who is in an emotional time, but is trying to start a new life due to a rough life; then a reflection from the past strikes her and she just cannot break a promise to someone who meant so much to her. Eveline is only 19 years old and lives in an abusive home that is making her tired (Joyce) as the narrator suggests frequently, which is not common for most women her age. Rousseau seeks to discern whether the unequal treatment of men is dictated by natural laws or if it is a man made creation. When Rousseau analyzes humans in the state of nature, he claims we are all animalistic by nature. Humans in the state of nature are motivated by self preservation much like animals and also pity. The difference between man and animals according to Rousseau is man s perfectibility. Because man has very minimal needs in the state of nature, no concept of morality and limited interaction with other individuals, he is generally happy. Because in the state of nature man embodies the quality of perfectibility, he is able to adapt with his environment. As nature drives men to leave certain areas it forces them to learn new skills as they come in to contact with one another more often. As man connects with more and more individuals around him he becomes aware that he has more needs. As men begin to live in societies with more people they start comparing themselves to those around them and self preservation and pity are no longer their main goals. Now, they have to do more work in order to be happy such as raise to greater heights then their fellow humans. Moral inequality is created as division of labor and property rights are invented. On the other hand, in the modern American judicial system, the jury is only composed of twelve jurors. Bernard Williams, another English philosopher criticized Locke s theory of personal identity through his body switching experiment. William s argued that personal identity is found on the body and continuity of one s memories isn t necessary for personal identity. I am going to argue that personal identity is found on continuity of one s memories by presenting Locke s view of personal identity, presenting William s criticism of Locke s theory through his body switching experiments, and providing my own reasons on why personal identity can be found on continuity of one s memories and not the substance of the body.
