Compare And Contrast Baroque And Baroque Music
Romantic and Baroque Music: Two Different Styles Music has been categorized over time in
different periods, each of which have their own characteristics, composers and music style. Two of
those important periods were baroque and romantic, which had left an important musical legacy
though history. The baroque was the period from about 1600 to 1750. It was called one of the best
periods of the musichistory, because there was a huge change from the style of composition from
antique and renaissance music which achieved great expectations about this music. Furthermore,
Baroque music was written by great composers such as Bach, Handel, Rameau and Vivaldi who
were the most representative composers of the period. In addition, Baroque music was characterized

First, in the baroque period vocal and instrumental music had the same importance, this allowed that
the composers had a wide range in composition types. Some composers chosen more vocally style
and others preferred the instrumental style, which generated an amount of balance in composition
during this period. In addition, instruments were created with specific features to perform the
baroque music, they presented a sound and form characteristic, they were built to sound full and
rich, but in small type sized, mainly strings instruments. The bow and the technique to play this
kind of music required a careful and distinct method which caused that its texture and timbre were
unique and special for that era. The most representative instruments of baroque period were organ
and harpsichord, however, in most of the compositions of this period strings, woodwinds and brass
instruments were also used by the compositors, and these instruments were important for the
baroque orchestra. Some instruments used in the baroque period were: violin, viola da gamba, lute,
violoncello, oboe, bassoon and trumpet. Moreover, baroque orchestra was characterized as small
number of instrumentalists, and it was form mainly by strings instruments with a few woodwinds
and brass, which gave the colorful contrast in the orchestra, this was called chamber orchestra. On

Investment Proposal Essay example
The Investment Proposal
In early January of 2013, Manuel Pena, a venture capitalist, was attending a presentation
conducted by two brothers Dr. Adya Bharat and Dr. Sidhu Bharat in New York City. Mannuel
had been invited to the meeting by Sydney Smithers, a friend of his who knew he d been actively
looking for small businesses in which to invest. Sydney, a fellow Canadian, owned two
businesses: one was a nursing home and the other, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), sold
medical supplies for elderly people, including such items as walkers, canes, and special toilet seats.
Sydney and the Bharat brothers were hoping Manuel would agree to invest $100,000 in their

The Proposal
This is a great time to expand in India, Sidhu said. There s no such service there, since 75% of
health care is private pay. And Pune is the best city to do it in. Plus, by being first with our
service, we ll be better able to establish our reputation. Any competition that may come alone
afterward will simply help sell our service to customers, Sidhu added.
Pune is known as the Oxford of the East because of its educational institutions, Adya put in. But it
also has well established manufacturing industries. We grew up there, but since then it s changed
completely. It s grown tremendously as more people have moved to the city to work with
companies that have set up operations in information technology and automotive manufacturing.
Pune s population is now 9.6 million, and it has the highest per capita income of any city in India
50% higher than India s average income.
The need for our service stems from the increasing mobility of Indian society, Adya continued.
Young people used to live with their parents and support them. Now they re moving to Pune and
other cities for high paying jobs that have them working 12 hours a day. Since they re no longer

Susan Nason Case In Redwood City, California
The case against George Franklin took place in Redwood City, California. The victim, 8 year old
Susan Nason, was raped and murdered by George Franklin in 1969. But it wasn t until 20 years
after this horrendous crime that George Franklin was found guilty. He was guilty of first degree
murder. This case gained attention because it was the first case ever to determine a man s fate
based off of the resurfacing of repressed memory.
Eileen Franklin, George Franklin s daughter, recalled having a flashback of her best friend,
Susan s murder. It was the look in her daughter s eyes that triggered this memory. She contacted the
authorities and shortly after she found herself testifying against her father.
Her testimony of this was, I saw my father approaching Susan, his ... Show more content on

I screamed. I yelled...I heard two blows (ChicagoTribune,1990)
There was a division amongst psychologists and psychiatrists. Some believed that there was no
physical evidence to show that Eileen s recovered memory was true. However, others believed that
this crime was too traumatizing for Eileen and resulted in repressing this particular memory.
But how could she completely block this memory for 20 years? Franklin Lipsker testified that
she repressed the memory for 20 years because her dad threatened to kill her too
(ChicagoTribune,1990). Ultimately, George Franklin was convicted to life in prison. But this case
took a turn when 6 years after his imprisonment, he was a free man. Due to DNA evidence,
George Franklin s name was cleared, and he walked out of prison.
Repressed Memory
In my opinion, recovering very traumatic memories, can be caused by finding yourself in a
similar situation. Perhaps even experiencing certain feelings can lead to recovering any
repressed memories. If a repressed memory is recovered I don t believe you view the world the
same way you once did. How do you live in peace after recalling being present when a murder has
been committed?
Or being a victim of sexual

The Relationship Between Export Processing Zones
Export Processing Zones

Introduction
The relationship between Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and globalization, Neoliberalism,
global governing institutions and the 1980s debt crisis has attracted a lot of debate in the
economic circles. It is widely believed that EPZs have helped in the development of the
globalization project. Economists believe that the rise and growth of EPZs was enabled by the
neoliberal strategies that global governing institutions such as the World Bankand the IMF
instituted after the 1980s debt crisis in Latin America. In his book titled Development and Social
Change , McMichael deals with critical events that led to globalization. These include Neoliberalism
, the debt crisis and the rise of export processing zones. This paper will investigate these
interrelationships and conclude that there is a key relationship between EPZ and the globalization
project, and the rise and growth of the EPZ with the neoliberal actions of key global governing
institutions especially after the 1980s debt crisis.
EPZ and the Growth of the Globalization Project. Globalization is the process through which the
world is becoming increasingly interconnected due to massive increase in cultural exchanges and
trade. It has increased production of services and goods and their movement from one part of the
world to another. Due to globalization, companies now operate in multiple countries. There is freer
movement of goods, services and

Character Analysis Of Andrew In Fly Away Home By Eve Bunting
Hopefull. That describes Andrew in Fly Away Home by Eve Bunting. Andrew lives in a airport.
He want the live a normal life but he can t because he s stuck in an airport without a home.
Though in a tough situation he still manages to keep a positive attitude, and he also is helpful. He
is so young yet he is still hopeful.
How would you react living in an airport since you were young, well Andrew manages to keep a
positive attitude. In the story Andrew said My dad and I live in the airport, that s because we don t
have a home and the airport is better than the streets. This shows his attitude while living in the
airport it s tough but he does not want to show his dad that he truly wants to live in a house.
Andrew tries to stay positive through the situation he s going through. But he is a lot more
positive than most people would be in his predicament. Another example on how Andrew is
positive is when he saw the bird get stuck in the airport, Don t stop trying! he told it silently. Don
t! You can get out. This part is significant to the story by showing how he is encouraging the bird
to continue trying, that the bird can get out. But this makes me wonder if maybe he was just
talking to himself because he has no one to help him stay positive. His dad surely does not
encourage him his dad likes it at the airport his dad does not understand what Andrew really
wants, yet Andrew still fights and he still has hope. The last example on how Andrew is positive
is when he said Then I remember the bird, It took awhile but a door opened and when the bird
left, when it flew free, I knew it was singing. It is important to notice that before he said this he
almost lost hope, he got mad at the people around him because they had more than him. But he then
tried to focus on something positive this shows that he truly wants to have hope and be positive.
Many people face challenges all the time. But the character Andrew in fly away home lives in an
airport and helps his dad to get out. One example is he can t get noticed by other people, they stay
among the crowds change airlines and sleep sitting up. Even though Andrew is just a kid he doesn t
complain about all the walking and trying not to get noticed. This is helpful

The Slave Journal Entry
Day 9, September 1, A.D 78. I awoke, feet sore, mouth dry. All of the sudden, I hear growling
noises! Oh... It s just my stomach, again. I exclaimed. This is how I wake up every morning on
the roads of Pompeii, my new home. My pockets empty, nothing much on me. You can tell I am
not the richest of folks, I am in fact the lowest class. Life isn t very fun being a slave but
hopefully that will change soon, currently, I am not respected, no one ever makes eye contact
with me and whenever I say hi, they just tilt up their head in a cocky way and ignore me. I am
also treated like trash and call me names push me around, I feel different. The only people who
treat me well are, the other slaves and my oar, I know, it s weird to talk to an or money... Show more

When I awoke in the middle of the night I went outside on the ledge and looked along the shore,
peaceful and quiet except for the small waves crashing ashore. As I turn my head to go back
inside I saw an orange, red flare in the night sky. It was on the volcano! Magma was oozing out
of it like an overflowing bath. I quickly ran inside and grabbed all my valuables and rushed out
the door, I stole someone s canoe (I m not sure who s). I then took my oar and pushed the boat out
with a loud grunt. It let out a loud squeak as I hopped in, I haven t been in one of these for months!
I thought to myself. It was shaking as if the earth was too, it was a struggle to get out in the water
but I made it safe, all in one piece. It was dark and gloomy and the moment had a horrifying tone
to it. I couldn t see past the surface of the water it seemed like I was on top of a layer of coal. I
tried to sleep but the rocking of the boat was against that idea so I stayed awake and waited until
morning. When the sun started to rise, a dark ashy cloud started to fill the sky, just as I thought
it was over, the horrifying feeling struck again. The sky started lighting up and let out loud roars,
lightning was upon us. Though it was morning, it felt like midnight, except, no moon, no light,
nothing except me and my boat... That suddenly changed though, along with the roaring I
started hearing cries of terror as flying cinders with a size ranging from pebbles to boulders
started plunging into the water. It was hard to notice what was going on but I knew Vesuvius
was erupting and people were dropping like flies. I tried to remain calm but it was a struggle. All of
the sudden before I knew it I was knocked out by a cinder... When I awoke I was further out but I
still had a small glimpse of Pompeii

Hills Like White Elephants Literary Analysis
Hills Like White Elephants
Luke Wakumoto
In Ernest Hemingway s short story Hills Like White Elephants, a couple discusses whether or not
the woman should have an abortion. In the story, the couple s final decision was left ambiguous.
Though there are many theories about the outcome, it can be inferred that the couple did not have
the abortion because the man left his baggage near the delta, the couple ordered Anis del Toro in a
bar, and Ernest Hemingway s stories often parallel his life experiences. The man throughout the
short story is shown moving his bags. Assuming the bags are a metaphor for the man s life, this
movement could symbolize indecision, mirroring Ernest Hemingway s indecision regarding his
own children. The man and woman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
( across, on the other side, were fields of grain and trees along the banks of the Ebro
(Hemingway, 5)) The baggage acted as a symbol for the man s choice. At the beginning, the
baggage is near the desolate land (symbolizing getting an abortion), but is then carried to the
fertile land (symbolizing keeping the baby). After the man and woman enter the bar, the man
orders an Anis Del Toro. When the bartender asks the man if he wants the drink with water, the
man responds Yes, with water. (Hemingway, 2) In Spanish, Anis Del Toro means Seed of the
Bull. The water, which was ordered with the Anis Del Toro, symbolizes the water needed to
grow a seed. The drink with the water symbolizes the baby being born and growing as a seed
would. As the man and women are sitting in the bar, the man mentions that the train is coming in
five minutes. (Hemingway, 7) The train arriving and soon to be leaving the station parallels Ernest
Hemingway s history of leaving his wives. In addition, just like the man in the story, although
Hemingway did not want any children, he never forced his wives to have an abortion. So the
couple in Hills Like White Elephants let the unborn child live, as evidenced by the location that the
man put his baggage, the drink that he ordered, and Hemingway s

Analysis Of Physiotherapy Assessment Of A Young Boy ...
Introduction
Physiotherapy assessment involves forming hypotheses, and thus a diagnosis, by way of
questioning, observation and physical examination. It is a requirement of the Health and Care
Professions Council (HCPC) as stated in the Standards of Proficiency: Physiotherapists All details
and information recorded are highly confidential, so patient records must be maintained
appropriately, and confidentiality of these never breached (HCPC 2013).
In the following report, I will be discussing the hypothetical assessment of a young boy Miguel ,
who suffered a supracondylar fracture. As he is under 16, he will be accompanied by a parent
/guardian who may possibly contribute to the assessment process. Consent should also be given
prior to assessment.
Subjective Assessment History Taking
This subjective assessment forms a series of questions posed to the patient relating to their present
condition/problem (Farr 2014a). Important factors that must be taken into consideration prior to
treatment, such as patient preferences, contraindications, contributing factors, medication, family
medical history, other medical conditions and previous medical investigations, are ascertained
during this history taking .
The subjective assessment consists of Presenting Condition (PC), History of Presenting Condition
(HPC), Past Medical History (PMH), Social History (SH) and Drug History (DH) (Forrester Gale
2014a).
During the PC, it is important that Miguel s pain is documented. This

Robert Dahl Pluralism
Robert Dahl in Dilemmas of Pluralist Democracy (1982) realizes that there are several issues to
understanding the term democracy and the antiquated meaning that it has. In this reading, Dahl also
addresses domination and how power and its influence are allocated in the political process through
interest groups and organized political parties. On the first concept, Dahl attempts to give democracy
a more adequate meaning to the modern world. He coins the term Polyarchy where society tries to
implement democracy in large scale governments, also known as countries. (pg. 131) This is Dahl
s response to knowing that in all democratized countries there are organizations or independent
factions that exist. For Dahl this freedom to assemble is known as a pluralist democracy and shows
that a country that is exercising democratic pluralism is one where polyarchy and important groups
are autonomous. Pg. 132 As a result, Dahl concludes that any country that is democratic is
considered a pluralist... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He sets a criteria based on his observations of the ideals of Democracy. These ideals consist of 5
qualities that must exist in order for a democracy to function. In his observations he identifies the
following: 1. Equality in voting, 2. Effective participation, 3. Enlightened understanding, 4. Final
control over the agenda, and 5. Inclusion. Dahl then discovers a dilemma in pluralist democracy.
This dilemma is in understanding that people aren t autonomous if their decision making process
fails to satisfy the criteria above and that also if the political process were to meet the criteria in
its entirety. Then people ironically could not govern themselves as a result. (pg. 133) Dahl s
critique is that since democracy is related to the idea of people being autonomous, then therefore a
decision making process can only be democratic if and only if it meets these criteria. (pg.

Flannery O Connor s works are nothing short of extraordinary. They frequently step into the realm
of the extreme to make a statement or prove a point. The result is that her messages are stark and
vivid, and O Connor is able to make bold positions on controversial subjects. She achieves this
effect through a number of means, which consist primarily of Christian symbolism, character foils,
and literary irony. Combined, they create rich, intense environments in which radical events push
and twist characters. As a result of this stress, the characters are defined more clearly. In many
instances, they achieve a kind of self realization, and their revelations usually come with an ironic

The Importance Of Social Work
A movie that one would watch and not immediately think social work, would be X Men: First
Class. At first glance, it is a simple action movie about mutants with inhuman powers, but upon
further inspection, social work concepts are bound to shine through. One concept in particular that
becomes a crucial plot point in the movie is ethics. Such a concept leads to a connection between
the movie and the ethical principles in social workthat can be seen in the characters interactions
with the main character throughout the film. The main character in the film, Charles Xavier, or
Professor X, becomes a type of spiritual teacher for the group of mutants in the film. Xavier acts
as somewhat of a social worker through his efforts to get the group of mutants to learn to control
their powers (Donner, Goodman, Kinberg, Singer Vaughn, 2011). The first social work term
demonstrated would be acceptance. Acceptance is to treat clients in a humane and considerate
manner (DuBois Miley, 2014, p. 120). Xavier first displays his acceptance of the mutants by
complementing their inhuman skills. Whilst working with a mutant named Banshee, Xavier reacts
to Banshee s ability to scream at a frequency high enough to break any glass by exclaiming, What
you re doing is incredible! (Donner et al., 2011). Words like these portray an accepting attitude that
is a vital part of ethical social work practice. Xavier also utilizes the principle of individualization.

money transfers. Indeed, mobile banking is already being used by banks and mobile network
operators to provide millions of unbanked consumers in rural areas as a way to store and access
money digitally. The limited information available suggests that mobile banking is helping these
people by providing access to financial services and the ability to pay and be paid electronically
sometimes for the first time in their lives. Mobile banking allow unbanked people to use their
phones as a bank account: to deposit, withdraw and transfer money with their handset. People can
also use mobile systems to pay utility bills and pay for goods in merchant shops.

T-Mobile Competitive Forces Model
Information systems interact with the organizations and influences the organization in many
aspects of the whole organizational structure to the daily behavior. Information systems can enable
strategies in four aspects including low cost leadership, product differentiation, focus on market
value and strengthen customer and supplier intimacy.
Low cost leadership means offer the lower price to customers and operate the organization in the
lowest costs (Laudon, 2014, pp. 126). It is believed that the information system urged the
organizational structure to be flattened, while the scope of information dissemination information

The information systems can make the company realize the reasons for the deficiency of
competitive advantages in T Mobile by using the Michael Porter s (Laudon, 2014, pp. 124)

First of all, the traditional competitors that are sharing the market, like the iPhone that T Mobile has
already considered. The information system can be used to analyze the competitors actions like
innovation in the production style or the introduction of new product that appealed the customers.
Besides, there are always many new entrants enter the market with the flow of labor and capital
(Laudon, 2014, pp. 124). Although the requirements for the entry to the mobile market is relative
higher than others, the number of new entrants are considerable while customers are more
selective. As a result, those companies like the T Mobile in this case that are lack of competitive
advantages will be omitted by customers. As for the substitute, the development of entertainment

The History Of The World Wide Web
The history of the World Wide Web was created on August 6th, 1991 by Tim Berners Lee.
(Bryant, 2012). Due to the creation of the World Wide Web, many things have changed. Websites
have made everything either easier or more complicated. But, we will talk about the easier this
world has gotten. Some websites that have made life easier are Facebook, Strayer University,
Amazon, EBay, Google, Gmail, Yahoo, PayPal, Walmart, Schwan s, Myspace
, Pogo, Trip Advisor,
and Home Chef. These are just to name a few of the websites that have made our lives easier.
I could not agree more, that technology is like the Devil to many households making parents
divorce due to lack of person to person communication, and it makes partners want to have
infidelities in their relationships. But, nonetheless, websites like the ones I listed above are to make
our lives easier.
We will start with Social Networking sites. Social Networking sites, like Facebook, and
Myspace, are to bring people closer to each other from distances away. I have known of many
relatives finding each other after many years of not knowing each other, due to adoption and
other circumstances. They always help connect business to the users. You will always see ads
on the sides of Facebook while playing a game, if it is not full screen, of business that you might
like. Social Networking can be the cause of distraction with family as well. There was a report of a
lady playing Farmville, a very popular game on Facebook and it used to

Theory Of Planned Behavior (TPB)
Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB)
The theory of Planned Behavior built further on the theory of Reasoned Action by Martin
Fishben and Icek Ajzen in 1985. The theory of Reasoned Action needed to be developing
because it did not account specific behaviors, which people has little control or no control over
it. Thereon, Ajzen (1998) added the perceived control notion, which is similar to the self efficacy
concept of Social Cognitive Theory of Bandura (1977). Now, this theory takes to account for
factors outside of a person s full control by perceived behavioral control. Theory of Planned
Behavior proves useful for detailing the psychological processes underlying a wide range of health
behavior (Conner and Sparks, 1996; Godin and Kok, 1996). In ... Show more content on

Intention is influenced by attention, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control (Ajzen,
2006). Most of the studies have found attitudes to be more important than subjective norms in
predicting intentions, confirming the weak support for the role of subjective norms as compared to
attitudes in predicting intentions (Ajzen, 1991). Attitude is defined as a cognitive process
influenced by personal experiences and is expressed by either behavioral or emotional responses
(Fishbein Ajzen, 2010). The stronger the attitude is toward quitting the better the predictor of one s
intention to quit smoking (Fazio, 2001). According to TPB, the attitude relates both positive and
negative beliefs about the behavior. To addressing the importance of attitude, this leaflet aims to
developed positive belief on individuals that they are capable to quit smoking. Researches put
evidence that quitting to smoke improves quality of life in many ways: psychologically and
physically. That is why this leaflet draws attention on beneficial outcomes of quitting to smoke
and emphasize positive effects of it on our life by targeted attitude with messages, such as Stop
smoking! Make a positive difference to your health , teeth whiten, breath smells fresher, fertility
increase and financial improves and some long term benefits highlighted as well for example:
There lots of benefits of giving up! After 72 hours: Breathing becomes easier. Energy levels
increase. After 2 12 weeks: Circulation improves... On the other hand, the leaflet targeted
negative side of smoking as well. To pointed out the undesirable effects, messages include how
smoking affect on individuals health for example: For a smoker, most of the diseases occur after
the age of 50 and these smoking related illnesses can be long term and fatal , About 120,000
people in the UK die each year because of the smoking . Furthermore in an adult

Conversely, The Flavr Savour tomato possesses supressed activity of the enzyme
polygalacturonase. The suppression contributes to the fruits ability to stay harder for longer
allowing it to stay on the vine. This suppression allows the tomato to develop its natural flavours
and ripen as it stays on the vine for a longer time period. This flavour saving process lead to the
products name The Flavr Savr .
The Flavr Savr tomato is created through the use of antisense gene technologies to decrease the
polygalacturonase activity. The kan(r) is a gene from the bacteria Escherichia coli, alongside with
the gene from the Flavr Savr tomato they are inserted into a plasmid that resembles a round ring of
DNA. These plasmids are further inserted into a group of normal tomato cells in a medium
growth that contains the kanamycin antibiotic Engel 7. This process produces the APH (3 ) II
substance that allows the cell to become resistant to the antibiotic. This process is used to identify
the genetically transformed genes. The gene of the Flavr Savr initially coded for a strand of
RNA, which was the reverse strand of RNA that occurs in a natural tomato plant. The original
RNA strand contains the enzyme polygalacturonase degrading the cell wall, making the fruit soft.
The RNA strand made from the Flavr Savr gene binds to the polygalacturonase RNA in a process
to cancel each other out as demonstrated in figure 1.

Matthew And Quran Essay
The Gospel of Matthew and the Qur an describe Jesus in similar ways, but also in many different
ways. When talking about Jesus, the Qur an describes him as a prophet. what was given to Moses
and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any
of them... (2:136). Jesusis just like any other prophet. There s nothing extra special about him. He
even gets compared to the other prophets who are killed by Israel.
But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel]... you denied and
another party you killed (2:87). In contrast, while the Qur an denies Jesus of any special status,
including him being the Son of God (19:35), the Bible confirms he is the Son of God. In Matthew

First, Jesus did big miracles, even in the Qur an. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give
life to the dead (3:49). The Qur an doesn t go into detail of what Jesus did, but the Bible does.
Matthew 9 alone, is full of so many miracles that Jesus performed. In Matthew 9, he heals a
paralyzed man, heals a sick woman, raises a girl from the dead, heals two blind men, and casts
demons out of a possessed man. Another similarity is Jesus being the light in the world. The
Qur an talks about how he was sent down to mankind a light (4:124) and it doesn t specifically
say Jesus was the light in Matthew, but it does say that at one point his face shined like the sun
and his clothes became white as light (Matthew 17:2). The only other light that Matthew talks
about is in Jesus sermon on the Mount, he preaches about how the people are the light of the
world (Matthew 5:14 16). Now, Jesus does claim to be the light of the world in John 8 and 9,

Bernard Madoff Financial Scandal Controversy
Bernard Madoff Financial Scandal
I would first like to begin this paper by saying why I decide to chose this topic out of the 3
choices. I believe that all of the choices were credible and a viable topic in their own regards, but
the reason this one hit home for me was because of the simplicity of the scandal. It s hard to
believe that someone could have made off with the amount of money Bernard did when the idea
of a Ponzi scheme was notable as early as the 19th century, and was named after Charles Ponzi in
1920 after his scandal created enough issues to make it more aware to the public of what was
happening. The fact that this happened almost 100 years later at the level that it did and where it
happened made me extremely concerned and interested in the topic. In this paper I will cover the
details happening up to the scandal, the scandal itself, the people involved in the scandal, the
legislation and regulations implemented after the scandal, and my views on the outcome of the
scandal.
Bernard Madoff was born April 29th, 1928 in Queens, New York. He grew up as a son of two
Jewish parents, one of which was a stockbroker. He graduated from Hofstra University in 1960 with
a degree in Political Science and then moved on to attend Brooklyn Law School where he dropped
out to start and pursue his own company, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

The trick is to broaden appeal without stretching operations too thin. More chain operators will
probably aim for a middle ground between the in and out coffee bar and the full fledged coffee
house. The type of food that the beverage retailers plan to add to their offerings is the key to
these distinctions. The cafГ© is a place where someone can have a cup of coffee while reading
newspaper, or talk to a friend, and then get on with it (Restaurant Business vol. 96, 1996). Metro
Manila is currently being swept by a coffee drinking epidemic, and yuppies and young people are
filling coffee places that have introduced previously unknown coffee blends from all over the
world. According to Norman Koplas in his book A Cup of Coffee, more than a third of the
world s people drink coffee today, and that probably includes us, although we are not on the radar
screen as an important coffee producer despite the fact that many of us swear by the barako from
Batangas. The following account is derived from the book of Koplas, who has written about food
in the New York Times and the International Herald Tribune. By the 16th century, coffee drinking
was widespread in the Arab world. Coffeehouses became more popular than mosques, leading to
their closure in Mecca, Cairo and Constantinople. Coffeehouses came to Europe in the 17th century.
In 1650, coffeehouses first opened in

The Force 2025 concept is the physical and intellectual activities that help leaders integrate future
capabilities, and develop interim solutions to warfighting challenges through adapting, evolving and
innovating. This allows the Army to translate big ideas into concrete actions to improve the future
force.
Adapt
The Army must adapt faster than enemies and potential adversaries in order to retain the
competitive advantage in organizational, operational, and tactical missions and planning. To adapt,
the Army will modify its existing capabilities or decisions that adjust the balance between force
structure, readiness, and modernization.
Evolve
The Army must evolve to transform and develop its existing capabilities into a more complex or
better form. The Army accomplishes this through the use of DOD and Army resourcing processes
like the Program Objective Memorandum (POM), long range investment requirement analysis

Julie Taymor’s Titus Andronicus Essay
Julie Taymor s Titus Andronicus
Shakespeare s first tragedy has been a topic of discussion since the day it was written. Titus
Andronicus was staged on 24 January 1594 by the Earl of Sussex s Men at the Rose Theatre
(Welsh 1). Though this tidbit of information seems somewhat irrelevant to Titus, we must note that
there are certain standards and practices established by a play from its first performance. It is also
important to establish the general attributes that audiences attribute to Shakespearean performance.
One of the distinguishing factors in portraying Titus centers in its origin: Titus Andronicus[...] must
be considered as an experimental play (Bowers 118). Being Shakespeare s first attempt at tragedy, it

First of all, looking at the practical purpose of Shakespeare s work, we see that he was trying to
overcome the standard Kyd had set down with violence, found in works such as the Spanish
Tragedy: Titus Andronicus tried to surpass [Kyd] in the portrayal of blood and horrors (Bowers
109). Not only did the violence serve as a practical means of marketing, but the emphasis and
devotion to the villainous character of Aaron extends the role of the villain (Bowers 274). For
the first time we have monologues of the villain developing if not at least trying to explain his
motives. With this development, Shakespeare further progressed his craft and simultaneously,
gained stature for his inclinations. The non practical explanation for Titus Andronicus violence is
found within the characters and the aspect of humanity their actions portray and mirror, if only
in part, in all of us. There is a foundational element in all of us that seeks revenge. For we need
look only to [...] the present decade [...] to see that Titus Andronicus is no period piece irrelevant
to contemporary times (Karten 1). Though the decade Karten speaks of is the 1990s. The present
decade obviously rings true with the events of September 11, and in my opinion, more so with the
overall events of the American involvement in the Middle East. We are not too far from revenge to
not appreciate the message Shakespeare presents in Titus Andronicus. T.S. Eliot may call

Analysis Of The Kansas City Preventive Patrol Experiment
The Kansas City Preventative Patrol Experiment was conducted in October 1972 by the Kansas
City Police to test the effects of marked police patrol units on the incidence of crime to deter
crime and ended in 1973. The experiment lasted over a year and was evaluated by the Police
Foundation, established by the Ford Foundation, which also provided funding and technical
assistance for the education of police. The Kansas City Preventative Patrol Experiment in policing
ranked among the few major social experiments ever to be completed and still used today in
American policing. (Kelling, G. L., Pate, T., Dieckman, D., Brown, C. E., 1974) The design of the
Kanas City Preventative Patrol Experiment was to test the assumption that marked police units
patrolling the streets can prevent individuals from committing crimes. Areas of the city were
assigned either no routine patrols the proper level of patrols and substantially increased patrols. The
concept of preventive patrol postulated the self evident truth that the mere presence of the police or
reasonable potential for their presence would deter criminals from committing offenses in the
immediate geographic area of the patrol (Deployment by analysis, 2000).
The beginning of the experiment assigned officers to patrol areas called beats. Each officer
patrols his or her beat until assigned a call by the police dispatcher (Cornder, 2016, p. 386). The
patrol experiment varied 15 beats, but the routine preventative patrol was

A Simple Mathematical Model Of The Underlying Economics
The current crisis is catalyzing an array of responses, including searching for causes, reworking
regulations, scapegoating and a massive capital injection. Without a clear understanding of the
cause, the remedies may do more harm than good, innocents may be scapegoated, and valuable
progress in financial tools may be lost. Worse, it will happen again. From a simple mathematical
model of the underlying economics, I first predicted this crisis in July of 2004. Economic dynamic
relating very low interestrates to the structure of the demand curve in the housing market made this
outcome foreseeable, indeed inevitable. The current crisis had a mathematical cause. There isn t

The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly payment, not a
house price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This brings us to the heart of the
matter: mortgages that require no down payment, and only interest payments, alter the structure of
the demand curve for real estate, in a way that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but
which drives a bubble at low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely
proportional to the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those
rates double, house prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are not likely to
double or halve, but when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can be a big percentage
change, and the danger of big swings in housing prices is appreciable, even inevitable. With no
down payment, no amortization and closing costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a
house is the monthly payment, which is the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest
rates are cut in half, the house you can buy with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But
the same number of people with the same income distribution is competing for a fixed stock of
housing. The house price is bid up until the new monthly payment at the new interest rate matches
the old monthly payment at the old interest rate. The house price varies inversely

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Birch
BIRCH (balanced iterative reducing and clustering using hierarchies) is an unsupervised data
mining algorithm used to achieve hierarchical clustering over particularly huge data sets. An
advantage of Birch is its capacity to incrementally and dynamically cluster incoming, multi
dimensional metric data points in an effort to generate the best quality clustering for a given set of
resources (memory and time constraints). In most cases, Birch only requires a single scan of the
database. In addition, Birch is accepted as the, first clustering algorithm proposed in the database
area to handle noise (data points that are not part of the underlying pattern) efficiently.
Clustering Feature and CF Tree
The idea of Clustering Feature and CF tree are at the core of BIRCH S incremental clustering. A
Clustering Feature is a triple summarizing the information that we maintain about a cluster.
Definition: Known N d dimensions data points in a cluster :{Xi} where i=1, 2,..., N, the
Clustering Feature (CF) vector of cluster is defined as a triple:CF=(N,LS,SS), where N is the
number of data points in the cluster, LS is the linear sum of the N data points,i.e. N,Xi, and SS is
the square sum of the N data points i.e. submission of points n up to sum numbers Xi,.

Building A Montessori Trade School Essay
I have been super interested in Africa since I was a young child. I used to watch the National

How Did Christianity Change Over Time
Throughout the first three centuries, Christianity faced persecution from the Roman Empire. The
Roman Empire was one of the most powerful and influential empires in history. Nations under the
control of the Rome, associated themselves with Roman traditions. Even during the split of the
Roman Empire under, persecution remained and old traditions still dominated the areas of the
Roman Empire. Constantine, one of the Caesar s sons from the Tetrarchy, would go on to become
emperor of Rome and challenge old beliefs. Under the rule of Constantine, he implemented a series
of reforms such as the edict of Milan, Nicene Creed and changes in the culture of Rome, which
shifted the empire paganism ideology toward a Christian one. Christianityduring the reigns of
Diocletian, Galerius, etc were not allowed to worship freely. Christianity was a young religion and
there ideology was distinctive compared to the older religions. Romans saw this monotheistic
ideology of the Christian religion as a threat to the principle of... Show more content on

Constantine reportedly looked to the sky where he saw the sign of the cross superimposed over
the sun. Under it was the inscription In Hoc Signo Vinae or conquer by this sign. That night, in a
dream, he received an explanation of the sign Christ appeared before him telling him to carry the
sign of the cross into battle (Wasson 1). Constantine decided to inscribe the symbol on his soldier s
shield. This phenomenon allows him to be victorious in his military exploits. This vision paved the
way for Constantine conversion Like many Roman emperors, Constantine was paganist, after this
encounter with the spiritual world, he began to see things differently and this paved the way for
changes in the West. As time prolonged, these Gods began to disappear and demonstrate the role

Christianity, Religion, And Religion Essay
Christianity, one of the western religion which is accepted by more than 30% of the world
population. Actually, I am not part of this religion: I am from Hindu religion, an eastern religion. In
my religion, there are thousands of gods, but I don t even know the name of more than 50 gods.
Unlike Hindu, in Christianity, there is only one God, JesusChrist, who is the central figure in
Christianity. Among the Christianity community, it is believed that God sends his son to the
earth to free the people from pain and suffering. For the salvation of the people son of God took
an avatar of Jesus Christ. It is also believed that Jesus came back after the third day of his death.
As I am the person from a different religion, I find the different concept of God in western
religion. We, Eastern people worship many gods and we have many festivals to celebrate but in
Christianity, people only follow to Lord Jesus. For them, Christmas is their main festival as it is
the birth date of Christ, Easter as the day that Jesus came back from his death.
According to the Christian mythology, Jesus was born from virgin women Mary. Nearly about
2,000 years ago, Mary was informed by the angel named Gabriel that she would have a son, Jesus,
who would be the son of god. And soon, Mary (the virgin women) gave birth to the Jesus Christ in
the stable. At the birth of the Jesus Christ, the angel tells some shepherds that their savior, Christ
had already taken birth. Very soon, the news about the birth

The Importance Of Superstitions In Sports
One doesn t acquire superstitions, curses, or obsession out of nowhere towards a sports team. It s
something that s involuntarily part of someone when they participate in these gatherings with other
sports fans. Having a passion specifically for a team could get a crowd riled up, so when they
begin to lose, people try to generalize what could have caused the circumstance.
Fear of one s team being in a losing streak, who never seem to win, sports fans try to hold on to a
sense of hope and something to believe in that could explain the reasoning as to why they haven t
won for a period of time. However, there is no logical evidence that superstitious or curses are the
cause of a team lost in a game.
Being a fan of a sports team, specifically baseball, could result in being prone to believing the
curses or superstitious that comes with the team when they have lost. People are always trying to
fill in the gaps of what could cause such a loss, and when they can t find a legitimate reason they
direct their attention to superstition. Many attribute it to events that occurred earlier that could be
the cause of a team losing, even though the event could have no relation to the outcome of the
game. Before the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016, ending the 108 year old drought that
began in 1908, a curse began to surface called the Curse of the Billy Goat. When a Cubs fan was
ejected from Wrigley field after many people complained about the smell

Who Has Spent Time With Children
Anyone who has spent time with or around children will notice that each one has a special
personality all of their own. Children, like adults, have different traits that make up their
personalities. Experts have researched this phenomenon in detail and classified children into
different categories. Some experts have named more than three categories, but Peter L. Manigone
has chosen three that most experts agree with. These categories have been named flexible, fearful,
and feisty. Children generally may have similar interests, but the way they interact and deal with
these interests displays their personality type.
The first personality type is called flexible. This is the most common of the three types. About 40
percent of all children fall into the flexible or easy group (Mangione). These children usually
handle feelings of anger and disappointment by reacting mildly upset. This does not mean that they
do not feel mad or disappointed, they just choose to react mildly. These actions mean the flexible
child is easy to take care of and be around. According to Mangione, they usually adapt to new
situations and activities quickly, are toilet trained easily, and are generally cheerful. Flexible
children are subtle in their need for attention. Rather than yelling and demanding it, they will
slowly and politely let their caregiver know about the need. If they do not get the attention right
away, they seldom make a fuss. They patiently wait, but they still make it known

T-Mobile Consumer Compliance Report
A couple of months ago, T Mobile came out with a promotion that you can get two extra lines at
no additional charges, but you just must pay the first month and then you will get a refund of
what you paid extra. It was a perfect promotion for us, my family, to get because my little brother
needed a lane and mom didn t want a line, but since it is for free she can get one. After seeing the
promotion, I called T Mobile customer service to get the lanes. I asked the representative if our bill
will increase in any way and she said yes it will increase by six dollars because I must pay the taxes
for those two lanes and I was fine with that. After she added the lanes she reminded me that I will
pay for the full price of having five lanes on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was okay with that and I agreed to it and was happy about adding two free lanes. The month
where we had to pay extra came and we paid, but the next month we got the same amount as last
month which it should not have been that because this bill was supposed to the bill with the bill
credit added. I called customer service and they apologized for the mistake and they fixed it,
which they fixed it and we paid the reduced bill or out regular bill before the addition of the
lanes. Fast forward a month later, we received the bill and again the bill wasn t the reduced bill.
I again called them and they said they fixed it, but this time it didn t get fixed. The automatic
payment took out from my dad s bank account the larger amount instead of the reduced bill. A
month later, the bill came out wrong again and that s when I decided to write a letter to their
complaint department telling them that this is very frustrating us a lot and that it is making wish
that I have never signed up for such promotion in the first place and was to the point of canceling
the account and going somewhere else. In the letter, I asked for compensation to the extra money
we paid. The letter was successful and they gave us our money back plus a free month as a sorry
for the problem. Based on the success of this letter I would write another letter if there needs to

Two of those important periods were baroque and romantic, which had left an important musical legacy though history. The baroque was the period from about 1600 to 1750. It was called one of the best periods of the musichistory, because there was a huge change from the style of composition from antique and renaissance music which achieved great expectations about this music. Furthermore, Baroque music was written by great composers such as Bach, Handel, Rameau and Vivaldi who were the most representative composers of the period. Some composers chosen more vocally style and others preferred the instrumental style, which generated an amount of balance in composition during this period. In addition, instruments were created with specific features to perform the baroque music, they presented a sound and form characteristic, they were built to sound full and rich, but in small type sized, mainly strings instruments. The bow and the technique to play this kind of music required a careful and distinct method which caused that its texture and timbre were unique and special for that era. The most representative instruments of baroque period were organ and harpsichord, however, in most of the compositions of this period strings, woodwinds and brass instruments were also used by the compositors, and these instruments were important for the baroque orchestra. Some instruments used in the baroque period were: violin, viola da gamba, lute, violoncello, oboe, bassoon and trumpet. Plus, by being first with our service, we ll be better able to establish our reputation. Any competition that may come alone afterward will simply help sell our service to customers, Sidhu added. Pune is known as the Oxford of the East because of its educational institutions, Adya put in. But it also has well established manufacturing industries. Pune s population is now 9.6 million, and it has the highest per capita income of any city in India 50% higher than India s average income. The need for our service stems from the increasing mobility of Indian society, Adya continued. Young people used to live with their parents and support them. The victim, 8 year old Susan Nason, was raped and murdered by George Franklin in 1969. But it wasn t until 20 years after this horrendous crime that George Franklin was found guilty. He was guilty of first degree murder. This case gained attention because it was the first case ever to determine a man s fate based off of the resurfacing of repressed memory. Eileen Franklin, George Franklin s daughter, recalled having a flashback of her best friend, Susan s murder. It was the look in her daughter s eyes that triggered this memory. She contacted the authorities and shortly after she found herself testifying against her father. Her testimony of this was, I saw my father approaching Susan, his ... Some believed that there was no physical evidence to show that Eileen s recovered memory was true. However, others believed that this crime was too traumatizing for Eileen and resulted in repressing this particular memory. But how could she completely block this memory for 20 years? Franklin Lipsker testified that she repressed the memory for 20 years because her dad threatened to kill her too (ChicagoTribune,1990). Ultimately, George Franklin was convicted to life in prison. But this case took a turn when 6 years after his imprisonment, he was a free man. Due to DNA evidence, George Franklin s name was cleared, and he walked out of prison. Repressed Memory In my opinion, recovering very traumatic memories, can be caused by finding yourself in a similar situation. Perhaps even experiencing certain feelings can lead to recovering any repressed memories. If a repressed memory is recovered I don t believe you view the world the same way you once did. How do you live in peace after recalling being present when a murder has been committed? Or being a victim of sexual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Relationship Between Export Processing Zones Export Processing Zones Name Institution Date Introduction The relationship between Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and globalization, Neoliberalism, global governing institutions and the 1980s debt crisis has attracted a lot of debate in the economic circles. It is widely believed that EPZs have helped in the development of the globalization project. Economists believe that the rise and growth of EPZs was enabled by the neoliberal strategies that global governing institutions such as the World Bankand the IMF instituted after the 1980s debt crisis in Latin America. In his book titled Development and Social Change , McMichael deals with critical events that led to globalization. These include Neoliberalism , the debt crisis and the rise of export processing zones. This paper will investigate these interrelationships and conclude that there is a key relationship between EPZ and the globalization project, and the rise and growth of the EPZ with the neoliberal actions of key global governing institutions especially after the 1980s debt crisis. EPZ and the Growth of the Globalization Project. Globalization is the process through which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected due to massive increase in cultural exchanges and trade. It has increased production of services and goods and their movement from one part of the world to another. Due to globalization, companies now operate in multiple countries. • 6. Character Analysis Of Andrew In Fly Away Home By Eve Bunting Hopefull. That describes Andrew in Fly Away Home by Eve Bunting. Andrew lives in a airport. He want the live a normal life but he can t because he s stuck in an airport without a home. Though in a tough situation he still manages to keep a positive attitude, and he also is helpful. He is so young yet he is still hopeful. How would you react living in an airport since you were young, well Andrew manages to keep a positive attitude. In the story Andrew said My dad and I live in the airport, that s because we don t have a home and the airport is better than the streets. This shows his attitude while living in the airport it s tough but he does not want to show his dad that he truly wants to live in a house. Andrew tries to stay positive through the situation he s going through. But he is a lot more positive than most people would be in his predicament. Another example on how Andrew is positive is when he saw the bird get stuck in the airport, Don t stop trying! he told it silently. Don t! You can get out. This part is significant to the story by showing how he is encouraging the bird to continue trying, that the bird can get out. But this makes me wonder if maybe he was just talking to himself because he has no one to help him stay positive. His dad surely does not encourage him his dad likes it at the airport his dad does not understand what Andrew really wants, yet Andrew still fights and he still has hope. The last example on how Andrew is positive is when he said Then I remember the bird, It took awhile but a door opened and when the bird left, when it flew free, I knew it was singing. It is important to notice that before he said this he almost lost hope, he got mad at the people around him because they had more than him. But he then tried to focus on something positive this shows that he truly wants to have hope and be positive. Many people face challenges all the time. But the character Andrew in fly away home lives in an airport and helps his dad to get out. One example is he can t get noticed by other people, they stay among the crowds change airlines and sleep sitting up. Even though Andrew is just a kid he doesn t complain about all the walking and trying not to get noticed. This is helpful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is how I wake up every morning on the roads of Pompeii, my new home. My pockets empty, nothing much on me. You can tell I am not the richest of folks, I am in fact the lowest class. Life isn t very fun being a slave but hopefully that will change soon, currently, I am not respected, no one ever makes eye contact with me and whenever I say hi, they just tilt up their head in a cocky way and ignore me. I quickly ran inside and grabbed all my valuables and rushed out the door, I stole someone s canoe (I m not sure who s). I then took my oar and pushed the boat out with a loud grunt. It let out a loud squeak as I hopped in, I haven t been in one of these for months! I thought to myself. It was shaking as if the earth was too, it was a struggle to get out in the water but I made it safe, all in one piece. It was dark and gloomy and the moment had a horrifying tone to it. I couldn t see past the surface of the water it seemed like I was on top of a layer of coal. I tried to sleep but the rocking of the boat was against that idea so I stayed awake and waited until morning. When the sun started to rise, a dark ashy cloud started to fill the sky, just as I thought it was over, the horrifying feeling struck again. The sky started lighting up and let out loud roars, lightning was upon us. Though it was morning, it felt like midnight, except, no moon, no light, nothing except me and my boat... That suddenly changed though, along with the roaring I started hearing cries of terror as flying cinders with a size ranging from pebbles to boulders started plunging into the water. It was hard to notice what was going on but I knew Vesuvius was erupting and people were dropping like flies. I tried to remain calm but it was a struggle. • 8. Hills Like White Elephants Literary Analysis Hills Like White Elephants Luke Wakumoto In Ernest Hemingway s short story Hills Like White Elephants, a couple discusses whether or not the woman should have an abortion. In the story, the couple s final decision was left ambiguous. Though there are many theories about the outcome, it can be inferred that the couple did not have the abortion because the man left his baggage near the delta, the couple ordered Anis del Toro in a bar, and Ernest Hemingway s stories often parallel his life experiences. The man throughout the short story is shown moving his bags. Assuming the bags are a metaphor for the man s life, this movement could symbolize indecision, mirroring Ernest Hemingway s indecision regarding his own children. The man and woman ... At the beginning, the baggage is near the desolate land (symbolizing getting an abortion), but is then carried to the fertile land (symbolizing keeping the baby). After the man and woman enter the bar, the man orders an Anis Del Toro. When the bartender asks the man if he wants the drink with water, the man responds Yes, with water. (Hemingway, 2) In Spanish, Anis Del Toro means Seed of the Bull. The water, which was ordered with the Anis Del Toro, symbolizes the water needed to grow a seed. The drink with the water symbolizes the baby being born and growing as a seed would. As the man and women are sitting in the bar, the man mentions that the train is coming in five minutes. (Hemingway, 7) The train arriving and soon to be leaving the station parallels Ernest Hemingway s history of leaving his wives. In addition, just like the man in the story, although Hemingway did not want any children, he never forced his wives to have an abortion. So the couple in Hills Like White Elephants let the unborn child live, as evidenced by the location that the man put his baggage, the drink that he ordered, and Hemingway s ... • 10. Robert Dahl Pluralism Robert Dahl in Dilemmas of Pluralist Democracy (1982) realizes that there are several issues to understanding the term democracy and the antiquated meaning that it has. In this reading, Dahl also addresses domination and how power and its influence are allocated in the political process through interest groups and organized political parties. On the first concept, Dahl attempts to give democracy a more adequate meaning to the modern world. He coins the term Polyarchy where society tries to implement democracy in large scale governments, also known as countries. (pg. 131) This is Dahl s response to knowing that in all democratized countries there are organizations or independent factions that exist. For Dahl this freedom to assemble is known as a pluralist democracy and shows that a country that is exercising democratic pluralism is one where polyarchy and important groups are autonomous. Pg. 132 As a result, Dahl concludes that any country that is democratic is considered a pluralist... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He sets a criteria based on his observations of the ideals of Democracy. These ideals consist of 5 qualities that must exist in order for a democracy to function. In his observations he identifies the following: 1. Equality in voting, 2. Effective participation, 3. Enlightened understanding, 4. Final control over the agenda, and 5. Inclusion. Dahl then discovers a dilemma in pluralist democracy. This dilemma is in understanding that people aren t autonomous if their decision making process fails to satisfy the criteria above and that also if the political process were to meet the criteria in its entirety. Then people ironically could not govern themselves as a result. (pg. 133) Dahl s critique is that since democracy is related to the idea of people being autonomous, then therefore a decision making process can only be democratic if and only if it meets these criteria. • 17. The Importance Of Social Work A movie that one would watch and not immediately think social work, would be X Men: First Class. At first glance, it is a simple action movie about mutants with inhuman powers, but upon further inspection, social work concepts are bound to shine through. One concept in particular that becomes a crucial plot point in the movie is ethics. Such a concept leads to a connection between the movie and the ethical principles in social workthat can be seen in the characters interactions with the main character throughout the film. The main character in the film, Charles Xavier, or Professor X, becomes a type of spiritual teacher for the group of mutants in the film. Xavier acts as somewhat of a social worker through his efforts to get the group of mutants to learn to control their powers (Donner, Goodman, Kinberg, Singer Vaughn, 2011). The first social work term demonstrated would be acceptance. Acceptance is to treat clients in a humane and considerate manner (DuBois Miley, 2014, p. 120). Xavier first displays his acceptance of the mutants by complementing their inhuman skills. Whilst working with a mutant named Banshee, Xavier reacts to Banshee s ability to scream at a frequency high enough to break any glass by exclaiming, What you re doing is incredible! (Donner et al., 2011). Words like these portray an accepting attitude that is a vital part of ethical social work practice. Xavier also utilizes the principle of individualization. Literature Review Mobile technologies are changing economic life in rural areas of Bangladesh, where many people are using cell phones for a range of financial transactions, such as receiving and sending money transfers. Indeed, mobile banking is already being used by banks and mobile network operators to provide millions of unbanked consumers in rural areas as a way to store and access money digitally. The limited information available suggests that mobile banking is helping these people by providing access to financial services and the ability to pay and be paid electronically sometimes for the first time in their lives. Mobile banking allow unbanked people to use their phones as a bank account: to deposit, withdraw and transfer money with their handset. People can also use mobile systems to pay utility bills and pay for goods in merchant shops. Like other developing countries, Bangladesh is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of the studies have found attitudes to be more important than subjective norms in predicting intentions, confirming the weak support for the role of subjective norms as compared to attitudes in predicting intentions (Ajzen, 1991). Attitude is defined as a cognitive process influenced by personal experiences and is expressed by either behavioral or emotional responses (Fishbein Ajzen, 2010). The stronger the attitude is toward quitting the better the predictor of one s intention to quit smoking (Fazio, 2001). Conversely, The Flavr Savour tomato possesses supressed activity of the enzyme polygalacturonase. The suppression contributes to the fruits ability to stay harder for longer allowing it to stay on the vine. This suppression allows the tomato to develop its natural flavours and ripen as it stays on the vine for a longer time period. This flavour saving process lead to the products name The Flavr Savr . The Flavr Savr tomato is created through the use of antisense gene technologies to decrease the polygalacturonase activity. The kan(r) is a gene from the bacteria Escherichia coli, alongside with the gene from the Flavr Savr tomato they are inserted into a plasmid that resembles a round ring of DNA. These plasmids are further inserted into a group of normal tomato cells in a medium growth that contains the kanamycin antibiotic Engel 7. This process produces the APH (3 ) II substance that allows the cell to become resistant to the antibiotic. This process is used to identify the genetically transformed genes. The gene of the Flavr Savr initially coded for a strand of RNA, which was the reverse strand of RNA that occurs in a natural tomato plant. The original RNA strand contains the enzyme polygalacturonase degrading the cell wall, making the fruit soft. The RNA strand made from the Flavr Savr gene binds to the polygalacturonase RNA in a process to cancel each other out as demonstrated in figure 1. The antisense gene is a ... Not only did the violence serve as a practical means of marketing, but the emphasis and devotion to the villainous character of Aaron extends the role of the villain (Bowers 274). For the first time we have monologues of the villain developing if not at least trying to explain his motives. The experiment lasted over a year and was evaluated by the Police Foundation, established by the Ford Foundation, which also provided funding and technical assistance for the education of police. The Kansas City Preventative Patrol Experiment in policing ranked among the few major social experiments ever to be completed and still used today in American policing. (Kelling, G. Areas of the city were assigned either no routine patrols the proper level of patrols and substantially increased patrols. The concept of preventive patrol postulated the self evident truth that the mere presence of the police or reasonable potential for their presence would deter criminals from committing offenses in the immediate geographic area of the patrol (Deployment by analysis, 2000). The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly payment, not a house price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This brings us to the heart of the matter: mortgages that require no down payment, and only interest payments, alter the structure of the demand curve for real estate, in a way that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but which drives a bubble at low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely proportional to the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those rates double, house prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are not likely to double or halve, but when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can be a big percentage change, and the danger of big swings in housing prices is appreciable, even inevitable. With no down payment, no amortization and closing costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a house is the monthly payment, which is the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, the house you can buy with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But the same number of people with the same income distribution is competing for a fixed stock of housing. • 39. Christianity, Religion, And Religion Essay Christianity, one of the western religion which is accepted by more than 30% of the world population. Actually, I am not part of this religion: I am from Hindu religion, an eastern religion. In my religion, there are thousands of gods, but I don t even know the name of more than 50 gods. Unlike Hindu, in Christianity, there is only one God, JesusChrist, who is the central figure in Christianity. Among the Christianity community, it is believed that God sends his son to the earth to free the people from pain and suffering. For the salvation of the people son of God took an avatar of Jesus Christ. It is also believed that Jesus came back after the third day of his death. As I am the person from a different religion, I find the different concept of God in western religion. We, Eastern people worship many gods and we have many festivals to celebrate but in Christianity, people only follow to Lord Jesus. For them, Christmas is their main festival as it is the birth date of Christ, Easter as the day that Jesus came back from his death. According to the Christian mythology, Jesus was born from virgin women Mary. Nearly about 2,000 years ago, Mary was informed by the angel named Gabriel that she would have a son, Jesus, who would be the son of god. And soon, Mary (the virgin women) gave birth to the Jesus Christ in the stable. At the birth of the Jesus Christ, the angel tells some shepherds that their savior, Christ had already taken birth. Very soon, the news about the birth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Importance Of Superstitions In Sports One doesn t acquire superstitions, curses, or obsession out of nowhere towards a sports team. It s something that s involuntarily part of someone when they participate in these gatherings with other sports fans. Having a passion specifically for a team could get a crowd riled up, so when they begin to lose, people try to generalize what could have caused the circumstance. Fear of one s team being in a losing streak, who never seem to win, sports fans try to hold on to a sense of hope and something to believe in that could explain the reasoning as to why they haven t won for a period of time. However, there is no logical evidence that superstitious or curses are the cause of a team lost in a game. Being a fan of a sports team, specifically baseball, could result in being prone to believing the curses or superstitious that comes with the team when they have lost. People are always trying to fill in the gaps of what could cause such a loss, and when they can t find a legitimate reason they direct their attention to superstition. Many attribute it to events that occurred earlier that could be the cause of a team losing, even though the event could have no relation to the outcome of the game. Before the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016, ending the 108 year old drought that began in 1908, a curse began to surface called the Curse of the Billy Goat. When a Cubs fan was ejected from Wrigley field after many people complained about the smell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Who Has Spent Time With Children Anyone who has spent time with or around children will notice that each one has a special personality all of their own. Children, like adults, have different traits that make up their personalities. Experts have researched this phenomenon in detail and classified children into different categories. Some experts have named more than three categories, but Peter L. Manigone has chosen three that most experts agree with. These categories have been named flexible, fearful, and feisty. Children generally may have similar interests, but the way they interact and deal with these interests displays their personality type. The first personality type is called flexible. This is the most common of the three types. About 40 percent of all children fall into the flexible or easy group (Mangione). These children usually handle feelings of anger and disappointment by reacting mildly upset. This does not mean that they do not feel mad or disappointed, they just choose to react mildly. These actions mean the flexible child is easy to take care of and be around. According to Mangione, they usually adapt to new situations and activities quickly, are toilet trained easily, and are generally cheerful. Flexible children are subtle in their need for attention. Rather than yelling and demanding it, they will slowly and politely let their caregiver know about the need. If they do not get the attention right away, they seldom make a fuss. They patiently wait, but they still make it known ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. T-Mobile Consumer Compliance Report A couple of months ago, T Mobile came out with a promotion that you can get two extra lines at no additional charges, but you just must pay the first month and then you will get a refund of what you paid extra. It was a perfect promotion for us, my family, to get because my little brother needed a lane and mom didn t want a line, but since it is for free she can get one. After seeing the promotion, I called T Mobile customer service to get the lanes. I asked the representative if our bill will increase in any way and she said yes it will increase by six dollars because I must pay the taxes for those two lanes and I was fine with that. After she added the lanes she reminded me that I will pay for the full price of having five lanes on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was okay with that and I agreed to it and was happy about adding two free lanes. The month where we had to pay extra came and we paid, but the next month we got the same amount as last month which it should not have been that because this bill was supposed to the bill with the bill credit added. I called customer service and they apologized for the mistake and they fixed it, which they fixed it and we paid the reduced bill or out regular bill before the addition of the lanes. Fast forward a month later, we received the bill and again the bill wasn t the reduced bill. I again called them and they said they fixed it, but this time it didn t get fixed. The automatic payment took out from my dad s bank account the larger amount instead of the reduced bill. A month later, the bill came out wrong again and that s when I decided to write a letter to their complaint department telling them that this is very frustrating us a lot and that it is making wish that I have never signed up for such promotion in the first place and was to the point of canceling the account and going somewhere else. In the letter, I asked for compensation to the extra money we paid. The letter was successful and they gave us our money back plus a free month as a sorry for the problem. Based on the success of this letter I would write another letter if there needs to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
