The Success Of The Toyota Production System
INTRODUCTION TO THE LEAN SYSTEMS The success of the Toyota Production System is the
evidence that Lean Systems help manufacturing companies in improving their operations and the
process of manufacturing. Lean is an approach to eliminate waste and maximize the value for the
customers. Lean has made its place in today s market. Apart from Toyota, companies like John Deere
one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery, Textron leading systems which offers
products and services to support the defense and the aerospace, Intel the world s largest chip makers,
Nike one of the leading super cool clothing company have occupied their place in the success list of
lean systems. HISTORY OF LEAN Before we understand the need lean we must understand the need
of the productions such as Craft Production and Mass Production. The craft production was more
about manufacturing the cars based on the specifications given by the customers. The term craft
production refers to a manufacturing technique applied in the hobbies of handicraft but was also the
common method of manufacture in the pre industrialized world. The cars were modified according to
the requirements of the customers which led to the limited number of models specific for each
customer and relatively the cost was high but the customer had the satisfaction of dealing directly with
the manufacturer. Craft production comprise of skilled employees at design, machining and fitting,
usage of the general purpose machines

What Is Machiavelli Stressed In The Prince
Outside people relations, Vlad embodied one of the most crucial principle Machiavelli stressed in The
Prince, Principle 10 How the Strength of All States Should be Measured. Machiavelli believes that for
a prince to maintain his control over the state in times of war, he must be ready to fight for his people.
Vlad went beyond that by succeeding his predecessors through weaponizing Wallachia for battle and
personally leading the charge against neighboring states. His first hurdle was his confrontation with
Hungary where he tried to maintain a fragile peace, skillfully balancing the interests of the Hungarian
and the Ottoman Empire in Wallachia. However...conflict broke out between Wallachia and Hungary...
[eventually] Vlad succeeded to obtain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His mettle against the Hungarian proved fruitful as he secured his nation s independence and
expanded his territories. He quickly went into the extreme to safeguard his people during his
confrontation with the Turks; per usual, he took a radical stance in the Machiavellian principle against
his enemy by psychological warfare... [the Sultan]...saw his men impaled...the Sultan...kept saying
that he could not conquer the country of a man who could do such terrible and unnatural things, and
put his power and his subjects to such use (Miller). Ironically, the Sultan s claim proved to be Vlad s
strength because he relied on his military ingenuity to scare his opponents from touching Wallachia.
His front against the Turks established to his people his unwavering dedication to their liberty and
safety. The central concern of Vlad s actions was that in terms of pure Machiavelli, Vlad had no
evidence of following the footsteps of prior great kings and did everything himself. Why this is an
issue is because Vlad is going to every battle blind and relying too heavily on his impromptu actions
to combat the

Compare The Rate Of Decomposition Of Hydrogen Peroxide Lab...
Background
The decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide can be expressed in this chemical equation:
2H2O2 (l) 2H2O (l) + O2 (g). This process is commonly found in organism as it is a byproduct of
metabolism. An accumulation of hydrogen peroxide is dangerous so as a result the body system
developed a way to speed up this decomposition. Commonly called a catalyst, which speeds up the
reaction. Catalysts may range from enzyme to inorganic catalysts. In this experiment this employ a
heterogeneous catalysis, in which the reactants are in different phase from each other. It is also
important to note that the catalyst is not consumed in the reaction even though they speed up the
reaction.

Love Story Of Robert Capa
A Hungarian war photographer would soon find out that requesting to take pictures of a petite red
haired woman would forever change his life, creating an infinite love story. The photographer, Robert
Capa, soon influenced the beautiful woman, Gerda Taro, into taking pictures with him and they grew
to be inseparable partners. Their love story became well known to future generations of
photographers, but many everyday people are unaware of this legendary tale. The story of Robert
Capa and Gerda Taro have been included in many songs, books, and articles. The day their inspiring
love story had came to an end was the same day they had been reunited with a new beginning. One
with an eternity together in the afterlife, and an eternity of impacting future generations to come. The
song Taro by Alt. J creates an engulfing image of the day Robert Capa died by carefully describing the
event with impactful hidden meanings and unique language. This song describes the love story of
Robert Capa and Gerda Taro in a very practical way, the ending to their love story wasn t full of
unicorns and rainbows as you would assume to be. Robert Capa loved photography, especially war
photography. His whole life revolved around taking pictures, even if it meant putting himself in
dangerous situations like being on the front lines of war. He suffered through miserable conditions to
show the world what war is really like, and even gave his life for his profound love of photography.

There are no advantages to accountants focusing only on financial information. Both the accountant
and the organization would suffer if this occurred. Moreover, it would be very costly to have two
systems rather than one that captures and processes operational facts at the same time as it captures
and reports financial facts.
The main disadvantage of accountants focusing only on financial information is that accountants
would ignore much relevant information about the organization s activities. To the extent that such
non financial information (e.g., market share, customer satisfaction, measures of quality, etc.) is
important to management, the value of the accounting function would decline. Moreover, accountants
have been trained in how to design systems to maximize the reliability of the information produced. If
relevant information is not produced by the AIS, there is danger that the information may be unreliable
because the people responsible for its production have not been trained in, or adequately aware of, the
potential threats to reliability and the best measures for dealing with those threats.

Music As A Culture Of Major Label Bands On Their Stations...
Nowadays radio stations and televisions are showing only mainstream, major label bands on their
stations and channels. What people mostly do not know is there is another world of music out there for
their listening: indie music. The reason people do not know about indie music is that these stations and
channels will not make as much money from these smaller record labels as they would from the major
labels that are Sony BMG, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. Indie music is a co
culture of major label music but in its own right is a culture by itself on its own. To determine the
aspects and norms of the indie music culture you have to go back to the beginning or the failed
revolution as phrased by Jon Fine in the title of his book Your Band Sucks: What I Saw at Indie Rock
s Failed Revolution (But Can No Longer Hear) (Fine 2015). According to Cohen (2015), unlike other
forms of music genre or categories, indie found its beginnings in college towns or middle class
working cities. She states Athens, Georgia, Olympia, Washington, and her hometown of Louisville,
Kentucky were key cities that upstarted the revolution in the 80 s. Helping the cause was the radio
stations in these cities and towns because they were sympathetic, run by women, and had a strong
interest in the culture of art (Cohen 2015). During the 1980 s people had a Do It Yourself mentality.
Cohen (2015) states The line between fan and performer was paper thin. Anyone could get a band

Graffiti Is Not Art Essay
Art. Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual
form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or
emotional power. (google). That s kind of a lot. Basically, art is anything created as a product of
human creativity and imagination to portray a message, trigger an emotion, or just, look good. That
being said, what isn t art? Anything, from the mona lisa to the projects sitting around this room were
made by human imagination and creativity to portray a message or just be beautiful. What if you were
told, that all of the hard work that was put into those projects and paintings, was illegal? Not accepted
by some people as art, and frowned upon.
Graffiti is a controversial topic in some areas that would say that graffiti can t be considered art. But
how can t it be considered art? Does the location or the message of the art make it any less art? How
much do people even know about graffiti, which is judged upon so hard in today s era? Graffiti has
been used many times in history to preserve and show political and religious ideas of the past. Street
artists are preserving the history that is deemed illegal at this time. Graffiti itself is history, and it tells
stories as well as preserving cities and adding a creative aspect to everyday life. The ...first forms of
scripture and storytelling ... were through drawings on walls. Stories passed through generations...
were preserved on rocks or walls. (Lloyd, Alexis). Now street artists are simply doing the same,
whether it s murals, tags, or people just messing around; They are preserving the unique cultures that
we have today, or trying to make a name for themselves through art, or portray a political message.
85% of graffiti is just tags. (Akbar, Airfa). People s names or words made to look interesting. People
trying to preserve their name through art. And this is considered a crime. Splashing your political
views on a building through a mural to some people is offensive and the fact that this is illegal is a
violation of the 1st amendment. Making graffiti or street art illegal is limiting an expression of people
s ideas and religion.

and public trial by an impartial jury of the state and district where crime committed, Informed of the

and passed, and then in 1891 congress went back and ratified the amendment. Congress passed this
amendment because they felt that the British were ruling and not treating the criminals not fairly when
it came to sentencing. The founding fathers also wanted to protect the rights of the accused; it also

Mary s Role In Religion
Imagine yourself as a young girl of only twelve and on a cold night in Nazareth, an angel from God
appears and asks you a question that would change the rest of your life. This is exactly what had
happened to Mary. She had a choice to answer yes or no and she chose the hardest path. Mary is
important in history because she was the accepted God s invitation to be the mother of Jesus, and
devoted her life to God. She also raised, taught, and influenced our Savior. Mary was born in circa 20

They work with the notion that they are the boss and do not need to associate with their juniors
provided that job is being done the way they need it to be done. A good manager will consider the
work to be done and the employees available to perform the work to avoid overload. In case of
absenteeism, they will find a way to fill the created space and ensure that quality and quantity is met
without overworking the present employees. Alternatively, if the work is not urgent, it can be
suspended for another day when the right number of workforce is present. In case of any faults in the
production system, a good manager will first ask for the factors that might have contributed to the

The Consolation Of Philosophy By Boethius Analysis
The Consolation of Philosophy was written by Boethius, a Roman senator and philosopher of the early
6th century. He entered public service under the rule of King Theodoric the Great, who later
imprisoned him on charges of conspiracy to overthrow the throne. The philosophical dialogue written
by Boethius was done while he was incarcerated and awaiting his execution. In it, he explains the
injustice of his charges, which were done by people who lacked scrupulous and are, in his opinion,
evil. Through his lamentations, a personification of Philosophy appears and she criticizes his actions
as he seems to have strayed from the philosophical path to become an emotional being. Philosophy,

In this case, Fortune represents a misguided belief that whatever goods are achieved during our
lifetimes, whether those are related to prestige, wealth or power, are going to remain with us forever.
In fact, such goods are merely ephemeral social constructs; or rather, they are given to us by external
sources, which may include our government, our friends, or even our own external actions and
achievements. These are anything but lasting, especially since societies change, as it happened to
Boethius , who was eventually imprisoned as the Roman Empire started collapsing and gave room to
the Ostrogothic Kingdom, or Kingdom of Italy. Along with that shift, changes to basic values may
occur and propagate fear, mistrust and corruption. These, then, may cause injustices, as the one
suffered by Boethius. Nonetheless, regardless of how we may analyze such occurrences, Philosophy
brings a good point when she says that Fortune should not be blamed for such phenomena, since the
mutable nature of external goods and Fortune herself already indicates that they should not be counted
on, as they are by their own nature prone to collapse. Anything given, including pleasure, is an
ephemeral comfort, and can be taken away at anytime, since it never actually belonged to us, nor
Boethius. That is the nature of Fortune and, albeit seen as unfair, she shouldn t be blamed for
following her own nature, which was always clearly displayed for whoever paid

Comparing Story Of An Hour And The Interlopers
You might be wondering why exactly I chose to compare The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin and
The Interlopers by Saki. Although when you first look at them both, you could hardly say they have
any comparisons. After all, they re both about completely different subjects! But when you go a bit
deeper, you ll realize that there actually are a few.
The first similarity that I found was that both short stories have two main characters that are both
struggling with each other. In The Interlopers, it s Georg and Ulrich. Their two families are struggling
together in a rather violent way, but this will be explained a bit later. In The Story of an Hour, Mrs.
Mallard is the main character, and her sister, Josephine. This is a bit more difficult to determine the
main characters, as her husband is not mentioned frequently in the story, but he is a main problem. ...

Like I mentioned, Georg s and Ulrich s families have developed a family feud over the past years. The
problem is, it has gone on for so long that now neither of the men know why they hate the other, just

the times before he left to join the war, Mrs. Mallard felt a captive. Yes, she loved her husband, but he
d been so protective of her, so she was unhappy. When Josephine, her sister, had to tell her the sad
news of Mr. Mallard s death, a weight felt as if it were lifted. Now she must be free. In the end,
though, none of the characters got their wishes. Georg and Ulrich decided that their was no point in
hating for no apparent reason, and became friends. Mrs. Mallard s wish of being free was destroyed

Violence In Rwanda
Since the beginning of civilization one of the most consistent methods in creating change has been
through violence. This violence can range anywhere from tribal warfare to world war or even to
modern violent protests. Although casualties are an expected result of deadly conflict, violence takes
on a new angle when it is performed through genocide. In only four months the casualties of the
genocide in Rwanda in 1994 surpassed the casualties of the American Civil War, which lasted four
years. With estimates between 800,000 to above one million casualties, Rwanda experienced one of
the quickest attempted exterminations of an ethnic group in world history, tied closely with the
Armenian genocide that lasted from 1915 to 1916.

The RPF may have found that their invasion of Rwanda in 1990 to be the prime opportunity because
in 1989, the international coffee price plunged by over 50 per cent, leaving the Rwandan economy in a
vulnerable position and any national army would be weaker if the economy was suffering (Pottier 21).
It was, however, found that towards the end of 1990, just after the RPF invasion, extremist elements of
the Hutu government began planning mass murder of Tutsi, and the international community was
aware of these dangers (Clark 24). Johan Pottier was blunt when he states that preparations for
genocide, invariably dressed up as self defense against the Rwandese Patriotic Front, an organization
ethnicised as the Tutsi invader , had started some two years before the actual slaughter (30 31). There
had been known killings of human rights activists and journalists, as well as orders from prominent
officials for the Hutu majority to prepare for the killings and even organizing death squads to
thoroughly eradicate the Tutsi (Pottier 22, 30). All of these conditions, once mixed together with
encouragement from the RPF and the Rwandan government, spelt disaster for civilians and hundreds

the centuries. One female nude painting in particular was the subject of controversy and exposed the
syncretism and or the power of the female nude painting. When Edouard Manet s painting Olympia,
was painted in 1863. It was hung in the Salon in Paris in 1865.It was one of Manet s most famous

Many didn t know what to make of it. The model in the painting was viewed more as a real subject or
person and less as a generic face of upper class in a work of art. It was so odd to some viewers they

inflamed the controversy surrounding Olympia. Rejecting his traditional art training, Manet chose
instead to paint with bold brush strokes, implied shapes, and vigorous, simplified forms. The paint sat
there on the surface of the canvas...It wasn t just the fact that she s a nude and she s a lower class nude,
but also the fact that she was painted in...what many people read as almost childish or unskilled
fashion, explains art historian Anne McCauley in the film. Olympia shocked in every possible way.
That is to say formally, morally, in terms of its subject matter. It had the whole range of outrage, adds
art historian Linda Nochlin. This was a good film, I enjoyed the presentation and it help my view of
art work and more of what it s about. The shock value is hard for us to understand today but at the
time this master piece of today was so different from the other pieces displayed in the art galleries. .

Power And Effect Language In Imayam
Language is the most preferred method of communication in our life. It is the tool we use not only to
empower ourselves but also to direct our energy. Language has immense power and its impact
depends on how we use it. Writers, who know that language has such power, use it to express their
ideas and thoughts, whatever be their genre. The novels and other works of writer Imayam exemplify
the power and effect language could have on the readers as it has become the medium of his
expression.
Imayam, whose original name is V. Annamalai, was born in 1964. A prominent Indian novelist in

Raising questions and the quest for answers form the basis of writing; not providing all answers or

of society s conscience and establishing it on the foundations of truth are the essence of my writings.
The writer need not talk about, or defend, his writngs.(xiv)
The language used by the upper caste or dominant community, and the Dalit aggressiveness are
capturedin Imayam s writings; it is not just a language, but it expresses their identity also. His writings
stand as an example for expressing the traditional identity, and all the works are based on the lives of
the Dalitpeople, andtheir experiences. The language reveals and develops in the course of the narration
and helps asto how to read the Dalitsas individuals, and within the context of the society.
All the Dalit novels expressthe reflection of writers. WriterImayam s point is that a testimony

between text and life, a textual testimony which can penetrate into us like an actual life. In the short

Cycladic Figurine
People continually have made sculptures of others throughout history. Many sculptures are dedicated
to an important person for their accomplishments and respectable deeds, and many are representations
of various topics, such as the ideal man/woman. These sculptures are in an assortment of sizes that
range from being taller than a full grown adult to being as minuscule as the length of a tiny dog.
Numerous sculptors, through the past and up to now, have a fascination in making sculptures of
women. Two, in particular, the Cycladic Figurine and Head of a Woman. The Cycladic Figurine is a
simple sculpture of a woman. It has thin arms folded gently across the woman and a blank face,
connected by a thin and long neck, with only her nose to provide

Challenges Business Operations Performance
CHALLENGES BUSINESS OPERATIONS PERFORMANCES FACE A business can only seize
extra ordinary opportunities if it only becomes good at the average ordinary operations. How do you
ensure your business profits are escalating even as you stay focused on achieving revenue growth? At
this point, excellence in business operations turns out to be grave. Operational excellence is a
philosophy principle in leadership, problem solving and teamwork that results in a consistent
improvements throughout the business as I focuses on the customers needs, employee empowerment,
and activity optimization along the process. Whenever people, systems and processes in any business
perfectly operate efficiently and productively, excellence is certain and goals and priorities become
achievable. This state should however be easy to achieve in such an ordeal world. There a few barriers
within the business can keep it from attaining operational excellence namely: 1. Lack of Collaboration
A business with well coordinated exercises that merges discrete steps into joined effort will experience
continues and sustainable improvements. This is however a challenge if each organization s function
acts independently without taking into account where and how the rest of the functions can add up to
their development plans. Operational strategies would be easier to implement if only employees could
collaborate and unite to construct and act on a single plan with a general goal and clear accountability

Equality of Life in Kurt Vonnegut s Works
Equality of life Will Rogers once said We will never have true civilization until we have learned to
recognize the rights of others. This quote is what we should strive for in reality but in Kurt Vonnegut s
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow , Harrison Bergeron , and All the King s Horses this is the
exactly the opposite of what occurs in his stories. In Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow , the
earth is overcrowded, people live forever, the same politicians have been in office forever and no one
recognizes each other s rights. In Harrison Bergeron the people of America don t even have any rights;
they are equal in all aspects of life and in All the King s Horses people are being used as chess pieces
and not as human beings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his
ear because he was too intelligent. Harrison s father was also forced to carry around a bag of lead shot
to make him not as strong as he could be, making him equal to everyone else. After Harrison was
taken away, his mother doesn t remember it and when she does subconsciously, she cries and doesn t
know why she is crying. After Harrison is taken he is forced to wear a large pair of earphones,
spectacles with thick wavy lenses which were meant to cause him to have whanging headaches, and
three hundred pounds of scrap metal. He then breaks free of his restraints and storms a TV studio and
takes it over, here he declares himself emperor. He then declares that he needs an empress, then one of
the ballerinas steps up, after removing her hideous mask, she reveals her blinding beauty. They are
both killed by the Handicapper General after they kiss.
In Vonnegut s All the King s Horses he talks about the cold war and how men become machines, that
war is a ritual human sacrifice and that we are just pawns in the game of life (Radovic). In the short
story, Pi Ying tells Kelly that chess games, like battles, can very rarely be won without sacrifices and
that, philosophically, and that the game he is required to play is no different. Vonnegut also discusses
the true horror of war that, in order to survive, men must become like machines, denying their
humanity. In Vonnegut s

The Pros And Cons Of Amphibian Trade
Our planet is currently suffering its Sixth Great Extinction, a time in which a various species of
organisms are disappearing at an unprecedented rate (Collins and Crump xv). The most rapidly
disappearing groups of organisms are amphibians, and over 200 of these species have been brought to
extinction since the year of 1970 (Save the Frogs). One of the largest causes of their rapid declines is
the spread of the lethal disease chytridiomycosis, a fungal disease largely spread by humans
(Whittaker and Vredenburg). Frogs and other amphibians are dying from this chytridiomycosis
because of our selfishly taking them from the wild to an assortment of distant locations simply for the
pet trade, food trade, and dissections, which are all unnecessary to economies (Kriger and Hero 1). In
order to conserve the over 2000 amphibian species in danger, the ecosystems they support, and
humans as well, we must prevent the lethal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

letter, The Amphibian Trade: Bans or Best Practice?, that it is impractical to ban the amphibian trade.
They reason that as the amphibian trades are growing, it will be impossible to ban amphibian trades,
and that the transportation of amphibians should instead have stricter regulations. After all, they claim,
it is doubtful countries with an unstable economy and little food would not go out of their way to
reduce a potential food source and with that any economic benefits of the amphibian trades. Of course
regulations are certainly beneficial, and it may be challenging to convince certain governments to
implement bans or other legislation. Nevertheless, it makes little sense why anyone should suggest
that people should not try to ban or severely restrict amphibian trades. Should people succeed in
limiting the spread of this fungus, countless amphibian species could be saved from extinction. Is that

Andre Agassi Family Expectations
The extract from Andre Agassi s autobiography Open is about family expectations. When you ex pect
something particular from someone or something you are talking about expectations. Family
expectations is, therefore when for example when your father has a certain expectation to you, about
the fact that you have to live up to a certain demand from your family.
In the extract from Andre Agassi s autobiography Open we are aware of how there are some fami ly
expectations in his family. He says: when his father was a child, his mother, Andre Agassi s
grandmother, had expectations to his father about how he should behave and be a good boy. He
mentions that she would beat him if he hadn t behaved properly. He describes his grandmother as a

In that way, he uses pathos to appeal to the reader. Because he is describing his family in the way he

his way of writing is quite easy to deal with and easy to understand. The sentences in the
autobiography are mostly short and therefore, in this case, easier to understand. Andre Agassi is able
to tell his story about his life very well in his autobiography, he makes his autobiography personal in
which way makes the autobiography exciting and inviting. When he uses examples of a dialogue,
which have been going on between his father and him or his father and his grandmother he makes the

European Development Between The 5th And The 15th Century
Between the 5th and the 15th century, European development had dramatically changed. The middle
ages had sparked political, social, and economic growth. It created the foundation and change in
European development that can still be seen in this day and age. Economic growth was greatly
impacted by the influences of different nations and city states interactions. Expansion had grown
tremendously as people started spreading out throughout Europe. People were able to go into
craftsmanship and sell other good besides food. One major foundation that changed lives forever was
the domestication of plants and animals. This lead to people being able to control their environment
around them and create agriculture surplus through advances like crop rotation.

How Does Temperature Affect The Concentration Of Ice And...
Discussion:
The experiment conducted was designed to discover what solutes allow for ice to melt at a faster rate.
If salt and sugar are added to water in even quantities, and once the sugar or salt has been dissolved,
and the solution is frozen, then the salt ice will melt at a faster rate because the freezing and melting
point has been lowered.
The experiment showcased an extensive amount of data that was collected. By using three different
concentrations of the solutes salt and sugar, the experiments allowed for the data collected to be
related back to society in a more realistic manner and also to test how it would affect the melting rate.
12 trials were done on each concentration of salt and sugar in each ice cube. Plain water was made
into cubes and was tested; it reached an average melting rate of 2.7 minutes. Initially, 9g of sugar or
salt were used. Salt had an average of 1.94 min while sugar had 2.72 min. The ice cubes that consisted
of 18g of salt averaged at 1.36 min and sugar at 2.16. The tests that required 36 g of each solute to be
observed had salt reaching the average melting rate of 1.39 min while sugar was recorded at 1.53 min.
The tests that consisted of 9 grams of salt had the lowest, therefore the fastest melting rate, averaging
in at 1.94 min (refer to Table 1). However, Sugar 9g had results that did not necessarily match up with
the rest of the data sets. In figure 1, sugar s result is higher than plain water and salt water. This is
strange as in

The Treatment Philosophy Of Alcoholics Anonymous
Meeting attended: Alcoholics Anonymous, Serenity Group, Urban Ministries, 03/07/2016, 1200.
The treatment philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is that of a 12 step program, additionally,
the group caters to individuals who are recovering, or trying to recover from alcoholism. This group
only focuses on alcohol abuse/misuse and not any other types of addiction. The 12 step program used
by AA uses a person s spirituality to focus their attention on their higher power and how they might
draw strength from it. In the meeting that I attended, the participants concentrated on the first two
steps of the 12 step program. The first step, admitting that the person is/was powerless over alcohol,
opened my eyes due to the fact that I always had thought that the first step was admitting you have a
problem. Although, they come to the same conclusion, the word powerless struck a chord because
being powerless can leave you feeling worthless and weak. The second step, believing that a power
greater than yourself will restore you to sanity, I feel was the absolute focus of this meeting. The
participants read prayers and meditation passages before the meeting really got underway. I looked
around at the faces in the room and I saw peace and acceptance on most faces when they were praying
to their God to give them strength to abstain from alcohol for the day.
After the opening prayers, dedications, meditation, and introductions (to which everyone said their

Who Is Willy Wonka A Naturalist
One is given many optional ways on how to think and coexist in this world. Whether the center of
your life is solely nature, a mystical being, or God, you are isolated by divisional barriers based upon
your mental state. A naturalist believes that everything can be explained as a product of a combination
of physical facts and physical laws. Naturalism deals with more raw and explicit details of life rather
than focusing on the happy endings that a realist would rely on. In Naturalism one s actions are
controlled by nature, their environment, or heredity. As you venture into the mind of a Naturalist you
will be able to see that God has nothing to do with this way of life. This group of people thrive off of
preconceived notions rather than on the idea of change ; therefore evolution played a major role in
Naturalism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wonka had a rough childhood so he felt that relationships were unnecessary and the outside world was
imperfect. Instead of coexisting with the others of the world, he attempted to create the perfect world.
Wonka isolated himself with the fear of the future being the force behind it. The environment is what
caused Wonka s fate. This film is mainly about a boy who s family is financially unstable and very
poor. I believe the movie was emphasizing on the lower class, giving the gut wrenching reality of just
how bad others were struggling. Naturalists put an end to the idea of fairytales and began feeding the
audience s mind with facts and pure

The Impact Of Theravada Buddhism On The Western South East...
1a.
Theravada Buddhism has been the pre dominant religion/school in the continental south east Asia, it is
mainly found in sir Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Burma, Taiwan and Lous. Today Theravada
Buddhist is a group which has well over 100,000,000 member s world wide. Theravada is considered
to be the soul survivor of the traditional and original Buddhism. It implies rather traditional and the
strictest moral field of teaching. Theravada concentrates on monks and nuns, those who give full
devotion to god. They live their lives only by the traditional teachings of the Buddha.
The followers for Theravada Buddhism take refuge in the three jewels (which consist of the Buddha,
Dharma and the Sangha), they also hold high regard for the teachings of Karma, Samsara and Nirvana.
Celebrations are a major aspect for Theravada Buddhists but they only have 3 celebrations annually;
Buddha s birthday, the day Buddha was enlightened and the Luna Quarters (crescent moon, first
quarter moon, gibbous moon, and full moon) it is shunned upon to celebrate occasions other than
these because they believe it decreases the value of festivities.
Unfortunately the Theravada Buddhists don t believe in equality for men and women, they still respect
and honour women but they believe that women cannot reach the spiritual greatness that mean can
quire, this is why only men can be enlightened (those who are enlightened are given the name of
arhats). But if a women s karmic energy is very good, they

Ritalin Abuse on Campus
Throughout most of her childhood, Jessica Miele* was viewed by her family and peers as a strange
girl. Her hyperactivity, trouble in school, and drive for music left her parents confused with what to do

Vermont Academy, a boarding school in the mountains. It was there that she found his gifted ability to

The Prescription Guide reference explains that Ritalin...increases mental alertness, and decreases
fatigue.
Ritalin, is used as a medication prescribed for individuals who have an abnormally high level of
activity or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The drug works by increasing and
balancing levels of the brain chemicals dopamine (associated with activity) and serotonin (associated
with a sense of well being). According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 3 to 5 percent
of the general population has the disorder.
When taken as prescribed, Ritalin is a valuable medicine. Research shows that people with ADHD do
not become addicted to stimulant medications when taken at prescribed treatment dosages. However,
because of Ritalin s stimulant properties, in recent years high levels of abuse of Ritalin by people who
are not prescribed, has been reported.
Ritalin is also in the Drug Enforcement Administration s (DEA s) Top 10 list of most often stolen
prescription drugs. Some individuals abuse it for its stimulant effects: appetite suppression,
wakefulness, increased focus/attentiveness, and euphoria.
When abused, the tablets are either taken orally or crushed and snorted. Some abusers even go to great
lengths of dissolving the tablets in water and injecting the mixture. Complications can arise, however,
because the insoluble fillers in Ritalin can block small blood vessels.
Some complications are due to the fact that

  • 3. What Is Machiavelli Stressed In The Prince Outside people relations, Vlad embodied one of the most crucial principle Machiavelli stressed in The Prince, Principle 10 How the Strength of All States Should be Measured. Machiavelli believes that for a prince to maintain his control over the state in times of war, he must be ready to fight for his people. Vlad went beyond that by succeeding his predecessors through weaponizing Wallachia for battle and personally leading the charge against neighboring states. His first hurdle was his confrontation with Hungary where he tried to maintain a fragile peace, skillfully balancing the interests of the Hungarian and the Ottoman Empire in Wallachia. His mettle against the Hungarian proved fruitful as he secured his nation s independence and expanded his territories. He quickly went into the extreme to safeguard his people during his confrontation with the Turks; per usual, he took a radical stance in the Machiavellian principle against his enemy by psychological warfare... [the Sultan]...saw his men impaled...the Sultan...kept saying that he could not conquer the country of a man who could do such terrible and unnatural things, and put his power and his subjects to such use (Miller). Ironically, the Sultan s claim proved to be Vlad s strength because he relied on his military ingenuity to scare his opponents from touching Wallachia. His front against the Turks established to his people his unwavering dedication to their liberty and safety. The central concern of Vlad s actions was that in terms of pure Machiavelli, Vlad had no evidence of following the footsteps of prior great kings and did everything himself. Why this is an issue is because Vlad is going to every battle blind and relying too heavily on his impromptu actions to combat the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This process is commonly found in organism as it is a byproduct of metabolism. An accumulation of hydrogen peroxide is dangerous so as a result the body system developed a way to speed up this decomposition. Commonly called a catalyst, which speeds up the reaction. Catalysts may range from enzyme to inorganic catalysts. In this experiment this employ a heterogeneous catalysis, in which the reactants are in different phase from each other. Both the accountant and the organization would suffer if this occurred. Moreover, it would be very costly to have two systems rather than one that captures and processes operational facts at the same time as it captures and reports financial facts. The main disadvantage of accountants focusing only on financial information is that accountants would ignore much relevant information about the organization s activities. To the extent that such non financial information (e.g., market share, customer satisfaction, measures of quality, etc.) is important to management, the value of the accounting function would decline. Moreover, accountants have been trained in how to design systems to maximize the reliability of the information produced. • 11. Music As A Culture Of Major Label Bands On Their Stations... Nowadays radio stations and televisions are showing only mainstream, major label bands on their stations and channels. What people mostly do not know is there is another world of music out there for their listening: indie music. The reason people do not know about indie music is that these stations and channels will not make as much money from these smaller record labels as they would from the major labels that are Sony BMG, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. Indie music is a co culture of major label music but in its own right is a culture by itself on its own. To determine the aspects and norms of the indie music culture you have to go back to the beginning or the failed revolution as phrased by Jon Fine in the title of his book Your Band Sucks: What I Saw at Indie Rock s Failed Revolution (But Can No Longer Hear) (Fine 2015). According to Cohen (2015), unlike other forms of music genre or categories, indie found its beginnings in college towns or middle class working cities. She states Athens, Georgia, Olympia, Washington, and her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky were key cities that upstarted the revolution in the 80 s. Helping the cause was the radio stations in these cities and towns because they were sympathetic, run by women, and had a strong interest in the culture of art (Cohen 2015). During the 1980 s people had a Do It Yourself mentality. Cohen (2015) states The line between fan and performer was paper thin. Anyone could get a band ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Graffiti Is Not Art Essay Art. Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. (google). That s kind of a lot. Basically, art is anything created as a product of human creativity and imagination to portray a message, trigger an emotion, or just, look good. That being said, what isn t art? Anything, from the mona lisa to the projects sitting around this room were made by human imagination and creativity to portray a message or just be beautiful. What if you were told, that all of the hard work that was put into those projects and paintings, was illegal? Not accepted by some people as art, and frowned upon. Graffiti is a controversial topic in some areas that would say that graffiti can t be considered art. But how can t it be considered art? Does the location or the message of the art make it any less art? How much do people even know about graffiti, which is judged upon so hard in today s era? Graffiti has been used many times in history to preserve and show political and religious ideas of the past. Street artists are preserving the history that is deemed illegal at this time. Graffiti itself is history, and it tells stories as well as preserving cities and adding a creative aspect to everyday life. The ...first forms of scripture and storytelling ... were through drawings on walls. Stories passed through generations... were preserved on rocks or walls. (Lloyd, Alexis). Now street artists are simply doing the same, whether it s murals, tags, or people just messing around; They are preserving the unique cultures that we have today, or trying to make a name for themselves through art, or portray a political message. 85% of graffiti is just tags. (Akbar, Airfa). People s names or words made to look interesting. People trying to preserve their name through art. And this is considered a crime. Splashing your political views on a building through a mural to some people is offensive and the fact that this is illegal is a violation of the 1st amendment. Making graffiti or street art illegal is limiting an expression of people s ideas and religion. Street art... is a highly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He entered public service under the rule of King Theodoric the Great, who later imprisoned him on charges of conspiracy to overthrow the throne. The philosophical dialogue written by Boethius was done while he was incarcerated and awaiting his execution. In it, he explains the injustice of his charges, which were done by people who lacked scrupulous and are, in his opinion, evil. In fact, such goods are merely ephemeral social constructs; or rather, they are given to us by external sources, which may include our government, our friends, or even our own external actions and achievements. These are anything but lasting, especially since societies change, as it happened to Boethius , who was eventually imprisoned as the Roman Empire started collapsing and gave room to the Ostrogothic Kingdom, or Kingdom of Italy. Along with that shift, changes to basic values may occur and propagate fear, mistrust and corruption. These, then, may cause injustices, as the one suffered by Boethius. Nonetheless, regardless of how we may analyze such occurrences, Philosophy brings a good point when she says that Fortune should not be blamed for such phenomena, since the mutable nature of external goods and Fortune herself already indicates that they should not be counted on, as they are by their own nature prone to collapse. Anything given, including pleasure, is an ephemeral comfort, and can be taken away at anytime, since it never actually belonged to us, nor Boethius. Although when you first look at them both, you could hardly say they have any comparisons. After all, they re both about completely different subjects! But when you go a bit deeper, you ll realize that there actually are a few. The first similarity that I found was that both short stories have two main characters that are both struggling with each other. In The Interlopers, it s Georg and Ulrich. Their two families are struggling together in a rather violent way, but this will be explained a bit later. In The Story of an Hour, Mrs. Mallard is the main character, and her sister, Josephine. In only four months the casualties of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 surpassed the casualties of the American Civil War, which lasted four years. It was, however, found that towards the end of 1990, just after the RPF invasion, extremist elements of the Hutu government began planning mass murder of Tutsi, and the international community was aware of these dangers (Clark 24). Johan Pottier was blunt when he states that preparations for genocide, invariably dressed up as self defense against the Rwandese Patriotic Front, an organization ethnicised as the Tutsi invader , had started some two years before the actual slaughter (30 31). There had been known killings of human rights activists and journalists, as well as orders from prominent officials for the Hutu majority to prepare for the killings and even organizing death squads to thoroughly eradicate the Tutsi (Pottier 22, 30). If salt and sugar are added to water in even quantities, and once the sugar or salt has been dissolved, and the solution is frozen, then the salt ice will melt at a faster rate because the freezing and melting point has been lowered. The experiment showcased an extensive amount of data that was collected. By using three different concentrations of the solutes salt and sugar, the experiments allowed for the data collected to be related back to society in a more realistic manner and also to test how it would affect the melting rate. 12 trials were done on each concentration of salt and sugar in each ice cube. Plain water was made into cubes and was tested; it reached an average melting rate of 2.7 minutes. Initially, 9g of sugar or salt were used. Salt had an average of 1.94 min while sugar had 2.72 min.
