1. 1. SEO Core sites - Munich
 2. 3. Keyword Research Useful forum thread about using exact match / broad match: Keyword research is the foundation of SEO. It should be thorough and regularly referred to when creating new posts, pages, tags, categories, links – pretty much everything you do. Here’s how to do it:
 3. 4. Forget keyword stuffing

Most of you who have encountered SEO before will most likely agree that the majority of the advice out there is

telling you to put keywords all over your posts in order to get Google rankings. To a certain extent this is true... But

usually not to the extent to most people think.

Then there is the Meta description – this does not

have any bearing on rankings but should be optimised

To encourage users to click on your result in the

search engines

There are certain elements of a page which have more bearing than others on rankings:

Page Title

Header 1 (H1) or post title

Page copy

 4. 5. Utilise your earned media

As well as keyword research via Adwords, I would recommend

regularly researching:

popular topics

questions that are being asked

conversations that are being had

etc. in places such as Twitter and Facebook

Ask your Facebook / twitter fans / followers:

- What kind of articles they would like to see

- What pros they'd like you to interview

- What products they'd like you to review

We have Facebook / Twitter fans for a reason, most people don’t really utilise them to their full

potential... Content is king in the SEO world, so find out what content people want, and they will come

 5. 6. It’s all about Tagging

Because our sites follow a magazine format – many categories don’t offer much opportunity for optimisation.

Tagging is a better way of grouping relevant content together and on Wordpress this is easy:

 6. 7. Initiate conversation

The best way of keeping posts fresh for search engines is to gain comments. The more comments you can get on a post the better.

The best way to do this is to actively seek comments and social interaction :

Ask Facebook / Twitter fans to leave comments

Comment on your own posts - asking questions and for opinions on the post / information contained in the post. This is a great call to action for many blog readers… sometimes they just need a nudge.

Run a comment competition – offer a prize for the best comment of the week / month / 3 months (whichever)

‘ Like’ your own posts!

‘ Share’ your own posts

‘ Tweet’ you own posts

Ask people you already know to leave comments – even friends and family members (OK so this is slightly contrived but a fairly standard practice among many)
