• Gold was used as it was one of the most important material that
they used in their murals.
• Slaves made the Murals.
• Slaves carved a picture into a wall and painted it with fruits and oils
which were made into a type of paint.

through art.
• The murals would tell the history about romantic stories, the kings,

3. Roman Murals
• The murals were made with tiles and were called Mosaics.
• The murals were colourful and usually showed people and everyday
life.
• The Romans used Mosaics in their murals and the materials they
used were small pieces of colour red glass, square tiles, stone, and
many other materials that they found useful to us in their mosaics
• Unlike during other times murals were created inside buildings
rather then on external walls.
• The process of creating a mural was to design a piece of art and
enlarged the art by drawing the outline onto a square tile that was
hand made then they used a specific glue called mortar to finalize
the artwork. This took a very long time because in those days they
didn’t have the resources like we do now. Unfortunately we do not
know the name of the artiest that created this fine looking piece of
art.
