In ancient times most of and many Egyptians murals
were made from gold and semi precious stones. This is
really wonderful when it finished.
• What was the process of creating a mural and who

They would engrave in the stone first after that they
would make the colour by mixing oils.
• What was the reason/purpose for creating murals?
Egyptians wanted to make a record of the histories and
murals would tell stories for every new generation.
And also many ancient murals have survived in
Egyptian tombs around 3150 BC, the Minoan palace
and in Pompeii.
• What sort of content did the murals normally have,
why? Provide examples.
They included important people in their stories like
pharaohs.
