The Private Security Industries Act Passed Into Uk...
In 2001, the Private Security Industries Act passed into UK legislation. This created the Security
Industry Authority (SIA). The legislation introduced new controls on activities within the security
industry. The act introduced a licensing system for certain roles known as licensable activities and
are determined by individual roles. These are spilt into two categories, Frontline and Non–Frontline
roles. Frontline licensable activities are for individuals that are operating under contract services
detailed by (SIA, 2008): Cash and Valuables in Transit Licence: moving cash and valuables to
protect from theft, damage or destruction. It includes using purpose built or modified vehicles to
complete the task; Close Protection Licence: guarding one or more persons to protect from assault
or injury inflicted by an illegal act of another; Door Supervisor Licence: required for acting on own
behalf, employed or under contract. This relates to open licensed premises. (HSE, 2000) Details
those requiring licensing from a local Authority or Magistrate: sale of alcohol, music and dancing,
theatrical performances, the showing of films, gambling, sporting activities and other forms of
public entertainment carried out individually; Public Space Surveillance Licence: licensable when
guarding activities are completed with CCTV equipment monitoring in public or private spaces;
Security Guard Licence: requirement when a manned guarding activity does not fall under the

The King's Great Matter Essay
The King's Great Matter
The Spanish–English marriage alliance of Catherine of Aragon and Prince Arthur was arranged
when the children were very young. Catherine traveled to England only to face tragedy when her
young husband, Arthur died in 1502.Henry VII wanted to marry Catherine to his younger son, who
would be, Henry VIII so that he did not lose the dowry money from Catherine's parents and to
secure some other agreements between the two countries. In the Catholic Church, it was forbidden
to marry the wife of a deceased brother. A papal dispensation was required for the marriage. It was
easily obtained from Pope Julius II. Henry VII died before the marriage took place but Henry VIII
immediately married Catherine once he became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout this time period, Cardinal Wolsey, an advisor to Henry and very powerful in the
Catholic Church, moved closer and closer to Henry. As the relationship progressed Henry became
more distant to Catherine. Wolsey spied on Catherine and she thought he acted against her always.
She began to believe that Wolsey had always hated her and possibly that she had always hated him
also. She held him responsible for the promotion of Henry's bastard son, for tempting the King of
France to break the word agreed at Madrid and plunging Europe into war, for ruining the alliance
between the two countries, and for seducing the pope and the Italian states. She also held Wolsey
responsible for Henry's irritability.
It isn't surprising that Catherine also blamed Wolsey for Henry wanting to divorce her. But,
Catherine was not the only one with this idea. The ambassador, the emperor, Reginald Pole, Catholic
controversialists, and Catholic writers ever since have agreed that Wolsey was probably the
instigator. Catherine's thought that Wolsey had put the ideas of divorce into Henry's head was very
reasonable. She believed that Wolsey thought this was the best way to safeguard his pro–French
policy by removing Catherine and replacing her with a French princess. Wolsey was serious about
his French alliance and did hope to arrange a French marriage. He also feared Catherine. He knew
that he needed to get rid of her so that he get closer to the king and help him handle his

Prophetic Ministry Book Review
Prophetic Ministry by T. Austin Sparks gives a broad overview of prophecy from an evangelical,
Christian point of view. The author covers the fundamentals of prophetic ministry including
anointing, lifestyle, function, vocation and the resistance to the message.
This book captured my attention initially in the discussion of the prophetic ministry extending
beyond the predictive. It is not unusual in the Body of Yeshua for the focus in prophetic ministry to
be on what the future holds. Sparks rightly speaks of how prophecy involves spiritual interpretation.
This spiritual interpretation causes the prophet to view everything through the lens of spiritual
implications. Specifically, this spiritual interpretation comes from the Lord as the ... Show more

In Prophetic Ministry, the cross is a central theme throughout the book. For Sparks, the cross is a
symbol of offense and lack of belief for those who refuse to accept it. And for him, the people who
refuse to accept it are specifically the Jews. It is at this point in the book, that the reading became
very difficult for me due to the blatant anti–Semitism that leaps off of the pages. Isaiah 53:1 is a
specific reference to the Jews in saying, "Who hath believed our message?" The question itself
conjures up images only of unbelieving Jews for Sparks. He cites the rich young ruler as being an
example of the Jews who were unwilling to give up their possessions and thus were not "emptying
out themselves" (Kindle, location 769). The language in this portion of the book labeled "The
Offense of the Cross" clearly shows his lack of understanding that Yeshua, his disciples and the
Apostle Paul were, in fact, Jewish. Additionally, he fails to understand that Paul never cast aside
Judaism. Like many Gentiles, Sparks believes that Paul is now a Christian and anti–Jewish. It is not
an uncommon teaching among the Gentiles to think that Yeshua and His followers became
Christian. Sparks doesn't say that in the book, but the absence of his acknowledging the Jewishness
of the New Testament patriarchs coupled with the fact that this book was written in in the 1948–
1950 time frame suggests an ignorance of this information which was prevalent at that time in
American church

Rhetorical Analysis Of A Man For All Seasons
How can a person stay alive when his own beliefs go against the desires of King Henry? In A Man
for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More struggles to keep his head and morals when faced with the
proposition of King Henry's divorce. As the play progresses, the King's divorce becomes a pressing
issue and More uses rhetoric to go against the divorce and corrupted government. Silence turns out
to be More's most effective method of rhetoric, but towards the beginning and end of the play he
makes a few key statements to support his argument. During a meeting with Wolsey, More's
skepticism of the divorce is first shown. Wolsey is suggesting support of the divorce so that the King
may conceive an heir with Anne Boleyn. More makes the statement, "A dispensation

Grito Dolores: The Mexican War Of Independence
Grito Dolores also known as the "Cry of Dolores" marked the beginning of the Mexican War of
Independence. The war was launched by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a renowned Catholic priest. The
war was started in response to the three hundred years of turmoil that the Mexicans faced from the
Spaniards. Such problems that they faced included racial inequality and the imperialism that the
Spaniards forced down the throats of the Mexicans. The " Cry of Dolores" gave the empowering
speech given Miguel Hidalgo, in front of his parish church was used as a tool to help empower the
populous community. During the "Cry of Dolores" Hidalgo challenged the undermined population

Essay on King Henry VIII
King Henry VIII Born the second son of a royal family, Henry Tudor lived a very interesting life.
His future was intended to be the head of the Roman Catholic Church and that fate ended with the
death of his brother, Prince Arthur. Henry's majestic life was full of sports, women, and faith. The
young King acceded his father to the throne, married six women, and began the English
Reformation when he broke away from the Roman Catholic Church and created his own religion.
On the 28th day of June 1491 at Greenwich Palace, Elizabeth of York gave birth to her third child
Henry Tudor. Henry was named after his father Henry VII and he was the couple's second son,
which meant that there was no chance for him to reign as King since he had an ... Show more

A papal dispensation, or permission from the pope, needed to be issued in order for Prince Henry to
marry his brother's widow. According to the book of Leviticus, the marriage was prohibited and "if a
brother is to marry the wife of a brother they will remain childless". After the death of her husband,
Catherine denied that her marriage had been consummated and that no dispensation was required.
Both England and Spain agreed that a papal dispensation was needed to assure that the marriage was
justifiable. However, even after the papal dispensation was granted, Prince Henry and his brother's
widow did not wed because King Henry VII failed to keep his end of the bargain ("Henry VIII King
of England" 2). In 1509, Henry VII died and Henry, heir apparent, became King of England at
eighteen years old. After the death of Henry VII and the accession of the throne by his son, Henry
became Henry VIII and his first assignment was to execute his father's ministers. It wasn't until a
few months after the death of his father that Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon ("Henry VIII
King of England" 2). In the early years of Henry VIII's reign, he was tall and handsome. Henry VIII
was very talented in many things, including playing various musical instruments, being athletic,
being a good linguist, dancing, hunting, and a musical composer among many other attributes (Fry

The Christ Of The Covenants
The Christ of the Covenants demonstrates the relationship between five covenants God instigated
with Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and David in the Old Testament, and how they are reflected in
Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. In answering four basic questions, I
discovered this main idea to be true time and time again. Robertson exhibits his vast knowledge of
the subject with a concisely structured index outlining one clear point for the entire novel.
In his book, The Christ of the Covenants, O. Palmer Robertson views the covenants necessary to the
understanding of the Scriptures. They are mandatory for us to attempt to interpret the grand scheme
of redemption. While the actual word "covenant" may not appear in Scripture until Genesis 6, some
of the five old covenants (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David) were established prior to this.
The performance rituals of the covenants were described in depth, thus providing sufficient proof
that they did indeed exist. The main message of Scripture lies in redemption, or the Gospel story of
the New Testament. Without the Old Testament covenants, we would not be able to understand why
and how God fulfills them later on through the birth, death, and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ.
Unity describes how the various covenants all relate to one another, beginning with God's covenant
with Adam in Creation and the eventual redemption found in Christ. There are two ways the
covenants are unified:

The Gospel Of Luke Chapter 17 : The Kingdom Of God
The Kingdom of God Paper
The Gospel of Luke Chapter 17 verses 20–21 is an account of Jesus' reply to the question asked by
the Pharisees concerning when the kingdom of God was to come. Jesus answered them saying, "The
kingdom of God cometh not with observation; neither shall they say, Lo here, or, lo there! For
behold, the kingdom of God is within you." And of course, the Pharisees nor Jesus' disciples
understood His answer. In fact, it only prompted more questions from His disciples. The kingdom of
God was a mystery to all who heard Jesus preach about it. Powell (2008) gives us the Wesleyan
view of the kingdom of God and writes, "The kingdom of God is not a place that could be
identified; it was instead found wherever God's power was manifested. In short, the kingdom of God
had come with power, but it remained hidden to those who did not embrace it in a spirit of obedient
belief" (p. 183). Israel's failure to see Jesus Christ as the Messiah kept them from understanding that
the kingdom of God had come in the person of Jesus Christ. Here again, Jesus is preaching about
something that is spiritual and not physical. Little did they know that at that time, they were in the
presence of the kingdom of God.
Jesus Christ's came into the world to show forth the radiance of God the Father and also to correct
their thinking and help them to understand He was the Messiah. He was God in the flesh. His
coming was God's coming into the world, therefore, the kingdom of God was

Rober Vicarious Liability Paper
Vicarious liability refers to a scenario in which an individual or a given organization is held
potentially liable for damages occurred that significantly led to harm (Bell, 2013). In a workplace
setting, the organizations may be held responsible for any damage caused by its employees if the
actions took placed during the employment. Vicarious liability refers to the process in which another
person is held responsible for another individual's deleterious deeds. The business format
franchisors who work towards achieving a common goal are always vulnerable to vicarious liability.
The employer or boss of a person who by chance become negligent of his or her work and cause
harm to individuals will be held responsible for the actions done by the employee. Therefore, as a
way of ensuring the company or the employer is protected against the issues of being responsible for
the wrong deeds in the organization or work, they should work close with the employees and ensure
that they monitor all their actions to prevent the chances of wrong doings that can lead to harm. The

be noticeably slower but also be extremely less accurate, as shown in Figure 9. This data was

The Pros And Cons Of Dispensationalism
Dispensationalism, as a system of theology, presupposes two main ideas: God works with humans in
distinct ways throughout history, and God has a distinct plan for both Israel and the church (Ryrie,
2007). Popularized in the twentieth–century by Cyrus Scofield, dispensationalism is the most
popular system of theology taught in North American evangelical churches today, however, and
despite the popularity, dispensationalism continues to be rejected and opposed by many scholars and
Christian denominations (Bloesch, 2000). Regardless of the opposition, the word dispensation
appears in the New Testament and is translated variably to describe stewardships (Luke 12:42; Rom.
16:23; Gal. 4:2), administrations (Luke 16:2; Eph. 1:10; Col. 1:25) and ... Show more content on

Dispensationalism maintains only one method of salvation through the dispensations, however, the
dispensational idea that the content of faith changes, raises suspicions. The law was added in to
grace and could not save (Ryrie, 2007). Thus, the law marked out the character of transgressions
until Jesus Christ should come (Ryrie, 2007, p. 128). Without the law, there would no knowledge of
God's grace, and if righteousness could be gained through the law, grace would have no purpose
(Gal. 2:21). Thus, the law's purpose was to mark out grace, while grace fulfilled the law's purpose
(Rom. 10:4). Based on the characteristics of God's immutability, this author believes that since God
cannot change, neither can the content of faith, the measure of God's grace, or the method and
means of salvation. Dispensationalism does add value to Christendom; however, dispensationalism
does create confusion over how one is saved. Thus, it is this author's belief, that with a basic
understanding of God's characteristic of immutability, the church can eliminate any and all
confusion concerning salvation and how one is saved. References

Journey Of The Magi Essay
Seeing the light while in the tunnel is something we all hope for. Likewise, the "modern poets," or
wise men, were longing for the same thing. T.S. Eliot in "The Journey of the Magi," finds the light at
the end of the tunnel. By the use of imagery, symbols, and allusions we will see the Magi, Eliot, find
his faith. This will not be a physical journey, but this was his life journey. The wise men, in the
Bible, went out to find Jesus, their savior. With Eliot being the wise men, or magi, and Jesus also
being his savior, this poem in its entirety is an allusion to the Christmas story. He was empty with no
hope after the war; it was "The very dead of winter." (5). The winter was a symbol of where he was
emotionally in his life. Identically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Communion and the Passover represent the same thing. Communion is the taking of bread that
representation of Jesus's body that was broken for our sin, and wine that represents his blood that
was shed to save us and that saved Eliot. Then inside that room there were some people gambling
over silver which alludes to the silver Judas received for denying Jesus. That tavern, or inn, was not
where He was found, so Eliot kept going. "And arrived at evening, not a moment too soon/Finding
the place; it was (you may say) satisfactory." (30–31) In the Christmas story, the wise men found the
manger where their savior was born, and Eliot found his too. He discovered his faith in stanza one
and two, and reflected back on it in stanza three. He questioned what he found. In 2 Corinthians
5:17 the Bible says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed
away; behold, the new has come." When a Christian is saved the old them dies, and a new creation
is formed. That is exactly what Eliot was he was saying when he was questioning and confirming
what he saw over the journey. Then he says, "But no longer at ease here, in the old dispensation, /
With an alien people clutching their gods. / I should be glad of another death." (41–43). His
dispensation has been changed on this journey. He has a new view on life because of all these things
that he has seen. Many people will still be going in their dark depressing ways

After The Rapture Of The Church
The premillennial supposition is the basis for the article . The Scriptures foretells that after the
rapture of the church a seven year period of unparalleled trouble will follow, known as the
tribulation, according to Daniel 9:27. During the tribulation, incomprehensible sin will abound and
then divine judgment will prevail. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will return and set up his
kingdom and will rule for 1000 years. At the conclusion of the 1000 year rule, an outbreak of sin
will be perpetuated and the final judgment for the wicked. Then the new heaven and the new earth
will then be established for all eternity.
The third person of the triune God is the Holy Spirit. He posses the attributes of God Father and
Jesus Christ. He is the personal unseen power and presence of God in the world.
The mission of the Holy Spirit is to proclaim overflowing love and world embracing communion of
the triune God. God's mission is calling the entire creation into life–giving communion through
Jesus the Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. It is in the midst of these distressing events the
Holy Spirit ministers. It is clear that His work will be quite different than His present mission for the
Church. The millennium dispensations the Holy Spirit will continue his work of regeneration.

The Seven Dispensations In The Bible
The seven dispensations are not explicitly stated in the Bible. Instead they are a Biblical
interpretation that divides the history of mankind into seven different categories. There are different
versions or interpretations of the seven dispensations, but I will explain the general understanding
that is commonly accepted. The seven dispensations are: the dispensation of innocence, the
dispensation of conscience, the dispensation of human government, the dispensation of promise, the
dispensation of law, the dispensation of grace, and the millennial kingdom of Christ. The first
dispensation, innocence, begins with the creation of man (Genesis 1:27) and ends with the fall of
man (Genesis 3). This dispensation is called innocence because Adam, the first man, was created
innocent and without knowledge of good and evil. Adam was given the authority to rule over
everything of the earth, under one condition: Adam and Eve must not eat from the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

justice, unity, abundance, healing, righteousness, and joy during the 1,000–year reign of Jesus on

Water Baptism In The Bible Essay
Baptism in the Bible
Baptism has been and still is one of the controversial topics in the church today. The question is not
whether or not the topic is taught in the word of God because we can all agree it is. Rather the main
question that may need an answer is, what type of baptism that should be practiced in this present
Dispensation of Grace.
Did God intend that water baptism be practiced in this Dispensation of grace? Questions of this
nature would certainly explain as to why there is so much confusion over the matter. In fact, some
people believe that salvation is not possible without water baptism. It's a crying shame that some
hipper water baptism fans staunchly believe that water baptism equals salvation.
In this paper, I will highlight the various baptisms of the Bible, the purpose of water baptism, and
finally, I will invest much of my time in addressing the one Baptism mentioned by the apostle Paul
in Ephesians 4:4–6, where the seven–fold unity of the Spirit are mentioned, which are essential to
the Body of Christ.

The use of free verse, when paying attention to the poetic devices used in these poems, works as a
tool that displays rebellion and the desire for freedom. In Lisa's poem she makes it clear that
freedom cannot be achieved without the realisation of the woman's value and that the struggle will
indefinitely continue unless people spare some time to love. The idea of erotic love can also be
included in the idea of people loving one another because, according to 'To the Reader' in ( lines 11

also suggests that everyone is held captive by hate because "No one is in love with the struggle"

The Christ Of The Covenants
Prior to reading The Christ of the Covenants, I was unaware of the emphasis placed on the
covenants, likely due to my un–Reformed background. After reading this book, I feel that it fully
demonstrates the relationship between five covenants God instigated with Adam, Abraham, Noah,
Moses, and David in the Old Testament, and how they are reflected in Jesus' birth, death, and
resurrection in the New Testament. In answering four basic questions, I discovered this main idea to
be true time and time again. This book forced me to think critically on how God's five covenants
relate to the entire message presented in Scripture, unity and diversity, covenant theology vs.
dispensational theology, and strengths and weaknesses in the entirety of the book. Robertson
exhibits his vast knowledge of the subject with a concisely structured index outlining one clear point
for the entire novel: the relationship between the old and new covenants.
O. Palmer Robertson views the covenants as necessary to understanding Scripture. They are
mandatory for us to attempt to interpret the grand scheme of redemption. While the actual word
"covenant" may not appear in Scripture until Genesis 6, the first old covenant with Adam was
established prior to this. Sufficient proof that it did indeed exist can be found in the detailed
descriptions of the rituals of the covenants. When attempting to relate the main message of Scripture
to the covenants, we can look at redemption. The redemption story,

Angelina E. Grimke And Sojourner Truth
The pair that I have chosen is Angelina E. Grimké and Sojourner Truth. These two women are
strong for standing up for what they believe in. Even though they came from different backgrounds
of life, they fought for the same equal rights and freedom.
There are several similarities and differences between Grimké and Truth. Starting from the younger
years, Agelina E. Grimké, a white woman, was born and raised in a family that owned slaves in
Charleston, South Carolina. Opposite of her, Sojourner Truth, a black woman, was born a slave in
Ulster County, which is in Upstate New York. While both women are different ends of the spectrum,
they wanted the same for every person, this included, equal rights and freedom for every man,
woman, and slave. It is said that Grimké's work in antislavery helped her advocate women's rights as
well. "The investigation of the rights of the slave has led me to a better understanding of my own"

PART AACTIVITY 1 The Education Law Environment The basis of education law is when an
educator or any other authority figure has the authority to lay down rules and regulations. Educators
are expected to be well informed about the law and applicable Education Acts and Regulations. The
law enforces the rules of behaviour that are usually considered acceptable by society on members
e.g. churches, schools, etc. Education law is a collection of legal rules from a variety of legal
disciplines which have to be applied in education. It also indicates what is possible and what is not

Everyone has the right to administrative action that is lawful, reasonable, etc. Summary The
Constitution radically changed the nature of South African politics and government. It represents a
definite break with the past, a dispensation of constitutional supremacy replaces parliamentary
sovereignty. These changes have an enormous influence on education. PART B ACTIVITY 1
Educators as professional people It is important that the image educators project both in and outside
the school environment should be professionally responsible and worthy. The professionalization of
any occupation is determined by the people who practise that occupation. That is why educators are
placed as practitioners in the foreground. A person practising this occupation should be specialised
trained, have an effective performance etc. and maintain a professional code of conduct. An
educator's professional image is made up of their own view of their profession. Their image must be
one of a mature independent person with self–confidence and also takes responsibility for helping
kids to become responsible adults. The teaching profession must develop its own professional pride,
conscience and consciousness. Educators working conditions demands challenges as well as their
contribution as community leaders. Educators must view every relationship they establish as a

An Understanding of Biblical Eschatology Achieved Through...
Introduction
Theologian Vern S. Poythress wrote, "Theological systems, whether dispensationalist, covenantal,
Calvinist, Arminian, or even modernist, have a profound influence on the way we approach a given
[biblical] text." There is no portion of scripture that is more influenced by the theological system of
dispensationalist than that of biblical prophecy, particularly in the area of God's redemptive plan
from for humanity. The purpose of this essay is to establish that an appropriate understanding of
biblical eschatology can best be achieved through a dispensational theological perspective.
Covenantalism
To gain a clearer understanding of the tenets of dispensational eschatology, it is necessary to
investigate the main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Barry Horner points out, although the covenantalists feign a high regard of the role of Jewish
people in their covenantal construct, "there is nothing distinctively 'covenantal'...when compared
with differing eschatological opinions". Therefore, they view all believers in both the Old and New
Testaments are to be regarded as the same faith community. Both Jewish and gentile believers are to
be collectively designated as the church and thus all the prophecies regarding both Israel and the
church can be amalgamated and regarded as a single entity. Therefore, under covenantalism, the
nation of Israel has no distinct future and the entirety of the Scriptures focuses solely on the
redemption of the church.
Dispensationalism
Dispensationalism interprets God's redemptive history for humanity by identifying specific periods
of time. These periods of time, or dispensations, are understood as having existed in the past,
persisting in the present, and will continue in the future. Charles Ryrie suggests that
Dispensationalism can be viewed "as a household run by God. In this household–world God is
dispensing or administering its affairs according to His own will and in various stages of revelation
in the process of time."
Dr. Mitchell defines the hermeneutical basis of Dispensationalism as an inductive interpretation of
the Scriptures. Beginning with the book of Genesis, Dispensationalism is built on determining the

Revelation is called the book of mysteries and also the book of Saint John the Divine. However, it is
important to note that John was not the source of the revelation but the instrument used to make
known Divine revelation. The very first verse in the book reveals its source. It informs its readers
that the book and its content is all about Jesus Christ. God the Father is the source of the message of
Revelation. He gave it to Jesus to show unto his servant things which must soon come to pass. Jesus
gave the message to his angel who conveys it to his servant John. John is the instrument God used to
get the messages delivered to the seven churches. The chain of command is clearly seen in the
delivery of the heavenly message to the seven churches. This chain of command confirms the
importance of following proper leadership and organization in our lives, in our homes, in our
schools, in our plays and in our churches. John was in exile (prison) on the barren rocky island of
Patmos for preaching the word of God and telling about Jesus Christ. On the Lord's Day, while John
was in the spirit praising and worshiping (he was wrapped up in God's presence and power) he had a

How Did Religion Affect The Renaissance
The Renaissance was a time of wealth and rebirth from the dreaded Middle Ages. From the
Renaissance, western Europeans experienced a cultural awakening, new beliefs, and a new way of
life. Humanist ideas and beliefs emerged which were different from the previous religious points of
view held by the church. New forms of art were created by artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael,
and Michelangelo. The Renaissance had a huge impact on the Protestant Reformation due to
humanist beliefs and secularism which criticized the Catholic Church. This caused educated
Europeans to call for changes in the church. This new form of belief, Protestantism transformed
many people's lives during the 16th century with new changes within the church. The selling

Sabbath Day Religion
Sabbath Discussion It is always good to start at the beginning when the Sabbath Day was first
instituted. In Gen 2:2–3, God ordains the seventh day to be a day of rest. Sabbath in Hebrew means
rest, interruption, and cessation or desists. It is a day God sanctified, consecrated, and dedicated to
be a day to keep holy and to rest from all work. Not only were the people to rest, but the land as well
was to have its time of rest every seven years (Lev. 25:2–7). In Exodus 20:8–10, God gives the
command to the Jews to "remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy". The penalty for disobeying
this law was death (Ex. 31:14). This command was given specifically to the Jews. A law that was
broken by them among many that caused them to spend 70 years in captivity. According to the

2:8–10 KJV). Our Sabbath is in Him and He invites all to "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt. 11:28 KJV). So, what about those with jobs that require
them to work on the Sabbath? Apostle Paul provides a biblical explanation in Colossians 2:6–17. He
writes that in Him (Christ) we are complete (vs. 10) and in verse 14, "the handwriting of ordinances
that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" and
in verse 16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of
the new moon, or of the Sabbath days". In other words, let no man persuade you or tell you what
you must eat or what days you are to celebrate. In conclusion, Apostle Paul sums it up on Romans
14:5–6 (KJV), "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let

The Mosaic Covenant: Suzerian-Vassal
The Mosaic covenant began a new dispensation in which the experience of the Abrahamic promises
came through obedience to a conditional law (142–3). Hence, this covenant is a "Suzerian–Vassal"
type covenant instead of a grant covenant (142). In the Mosaic covenant, obedience to the Law
given by the King (God) allowed for blessing on the people (145 Deut 7:12–15). This Law marked
Israel as a separate nation for God (Deut 7:6–11). This covenant also included information on a king
to come (Deut 17:14–20), ways to act in the kingdom of God in Israel (e.g. Deut 5), and predictions
of a prophet that would speak from God to the people (Deut 18:15). The Mosaic law was fulfilled

He is the king who is continually faithful and who mediates the blessings to his people (e.g. Matt

came as King on earth, as evidenced in his genealogy (Matt 1:17), acts of kingship (miracles and

Persuasive Essay Against Capital Punishment
This position paper will attempt to challenge previous opinions regarding capital punishment. The
objective is to persuade the audience to oppose capital punishment by revealing biblical, political,
and moral perspectives, as well as supplying effective counters to traditional thinking. This paper
seeks to balance each rationale in order to appeal to several mindsets, and beliefs in regard to capital
punishment.
Main Body The legally authorized killing of someone as punishment for a crime is defined as capital
punishment. In regard to capital punishment, commonly known as the death penalty, there is more
rationality in the decision to oppose capital punishment than there is to support it. Such rationalities
include biblical, political, and moral perspectives. In the light of a biblical approach, there is no
authority given to decide who deserves to die. This is reiterated in the New Testament (KJV)
Romans 12:19, in which the Bible states, "...avenge not yourselves...Vengeance is mine; I will repay,
saith the Lord." In Romans 12:17, specific instruction is also given in regard to evil, such as that of
capital punishment: "Recompense [compensate] to no man evil for evil...." Once more, in Romans
12:9, evil is addressed in the form of instruction: "...Abhor that which is evil..." In contrast, it is
understandable that one may counter with the fact that Exodus 21:24 states, "Eye for eye, tooth for
tooth..." While this may be true, there is no biblical account for which this Mosaic

Understanding Biblical Dispensations
Nathan W. Provost
TH1121: Progressive Revelation
25 September 2017
Understanding biblical dispensations helps with knowing more about how God rules His kingdom.
There are two dispensations that make up God's will for humanity and His kingdom before the death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The dispensations of promise and law are foundations that God
uses to make up His administration in His kingdom on earth. A dispensation is a distinct period in
the outworking of God's purpose. Looking at these two dispensations we can see that the promise
leads into the law, and progressively transforms because God's kingdom plan continues to be
revealed slowly. God creates a land covenant during these dispensations that has roots founded ...

This covenant is unconditional in nature. There is only an implied requirement of the people in this
covenant. Obedience to God, repentance, and faith in His work. Trusting that God always completes
His agreements. The provisions this covenant made is full restoration for Israel. He would restore
Israel, convert the nation, judge all their enemies, and bless them fully. God's role in this provision
was hinged on repentance, obedience, and faith. The Abrahamic Covenant is the foundation for the
Land Covenant based on God's truth in Genesis 35:12. The land is promised by God, to the
descendants based on obedience and faith counted as righteousness. God keeps His promises even
when man falls short of the mark. Paul mentions in Acts 13:19, that God destroyed seven nations, in

distributed their land as an inheritance, a promise made. The Abrahamic covenant teaches ownership

How Does Sacrifice Present Thomas's Relationship With King...
It was a beautiful spring day 1534, the river was calm and peaceful, the sun shone down upon the

Henry VIII had been friends for a very long time. This friendship as well as Thomas' honesty,

Thomas's knew that his friendship with the king was over. He also understood what King Henry
VIII will do when he refuses to support and agree with him. He was greatly saddened because he
realized how difficult life would be for him and his family. Yet, in his heart, he knew that he must do

The War of the Roses was a civil war in England between the houses of York and Lancaster. It
occurred after a king died and no clear heir was left. The victor turned out to be Henry Tudor, who
became King Henry VII in 1485. He was able to maintain his reign without calling Parliament,
therefore he lost no power to it. His son, Arthur, married the daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella,

Henry VIII wished to continue the alliance, so he requested a dispensation of Canon and Biblical

Boice writes, "In the OT there is the creation of an ekklesia, an assembly of those who are called out
of a normal relationship to the world in order to be a special people of God." The church is not "Plan
B" in God's plan of salvation but rather was hinted at in the OT through the calling out of Abraham
and Israel but was not fully realized until the NT. Blaising argues this point when he writes, "The
church is seen less and less as a parenthesis in the divine program. Instead it is seen as vitally linked
to and comprehended in the plan of God revealed in the Old Testament." The sharp line which is
drawn between the Church and Israel is dulled within PD as this view attempts to harmonize the two
Testaments into one unifying work of God throughout all of history.
TD views the church as in a parenthetical relationship with God and His plan for Israel. TD taught
that the offer to the kingdom of Israel was genuine, but it was also conditional and contingent on the
nations response, when Israel choose to reject the Messiah, the offer of Jesus Christ was offered to
the Gentiles and the kingdom did not immediately appear but was postponed. TD argue that had the
Israelites accepted the Messiah the Kingdom would have begun immediately, however, since Israel
rejected Jesus the offer went to the Gentiles. Therefore, since

President Nelson Reflection Paper
Life: After reading about President Nelson's life it really impressed me the story about the doctor
who started bleeding in his stomach. The reason this impressed me was because none of his colleges
could do anything to help him through their medical knowledge, but only the power of the
priesthood could save the life of that man. What a blessing to have such power nowadays, and what
a joy to have men of God spiritual prepared to act in the Lord's name. I loved what President Nelson
said regarding the gift of healing and the power of the priesthood; "Men can do very little of
themselves to heal sick or broken bodies...With an education they can do a little more; with
advanced medical degrees and training, a little more yet can be done. The real power to heal,
however, is a gift from God." I have not only being blessed with the power of the priesthood in my
life through my husband, but I have I have being able to see how his power has blessed other people
as well.
Testimony:
Among the aspects that impressed me the most about President Nelson's testimony was that the
Abrahamic covenants apply to us because God promised to Abraham that through his seed all
nations will be blessed and we are part of Abraham lineage. President Nelson taught in his testimony
that there are two important aspects that make possible for us to receive those promised blessings.

Therefore, the Holy Spirit was not given universally in the Old Testament but selectively and
temporarily for service. However, in the New Testament, the Spirit grants life to God's people and
believers are brought to faith, in Jesus, through the sovereign work of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit of
God is the driving divine force that assisted God with the creation of the things on the earth. Gen.
1:1–2, (KJV), records the first account of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. In the beginning,
God created the heavens and the earth and the earth was without form and void; and darkness was
over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. In
addition, Ps. 33:6 records that the Word of the Lord made the heavens and all the host of them by
the breath of His mouth. After God created the earth as a habitation, He created man in His own
image and likeness. In Gen. 2:7, the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul. Therefore, the Holy
Spirit grants natural life to all human beings. Paul said the spiritual life is not first, but the natural
life is, then the spiritual (1 Cor. 15:46). The Spirit of God reaches into the spirit of the person to do

UK Private Security Act Passed in 2001

  • 1. The Private Security Industries Act Passed Into Uk... In 2001, the Private Security Industries Act passed into UK legislation. This created the Security Industry Authority (SIA). The legislation introduced new controls on activities within the security industry. The act introduced a licensing system for certain roles known as licensable activities and are determined by individual roles. These are spilt into two categories, Frontline and Non–Frontline roles. Frontline licensable activities are for individuals that are operating under contract services detailed by (SIA, 2008): Cash and Valuables in Transit Licence: moving cash and valuables to protect from theft, damage or destruction. It includes using purpose built or modified vehicles to complete the task; Close Protection Licence: guarding one or more persons to protect from assault or injury inflicted by an illegal act of another; Door Supervisor Licence: required for acting on own behalf, employed or under contract. This relates to open licensed premises. (HSE, 2000) Details those requiring licensing from a local Authority or Magistrate: sale of alcohol, music and dancing, theatrical performances, the showing of films, gambling, sporting activities and other forms of public entertainment carried out individually; Public Space Surveillance Licence: licensable when guarding activities are completed with CCTV equipment monitoring in public or private spaces; Security Guard Licence: requirement when a manned guarding activity does not fall under the licence of any of the ... • 3. The King's Great Matter Essay The King's Great Matter The Spanish–English marriage alliance of Catherine of Aragon and Prince Arthur was arranged when the children were very young. Catherine traveled to England only to face tragedy when her young husband, Arthur died in 1502.Henry VII wanted to marry Catherine to his younger son, who would be, Henry VIII so that he did not lose the dowry money from Catherine's parents and to secure some other agreements between the two countries. In the Catholic Church, it was forbidden to marry the wife of a deceased brother. A papal dispensation was required for the marriage. It was easily obtained from Pope Julius II. Henry VII died before the marriage took place but Henry VIII immediately married Catherine once he became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout this time period, Cardinal Wolsey, an advisor to Henry and very powerful in the Catholic Church, moved closer and closer to Henry. As the relationship progressed Henry became more distant to Catherine. Wolsey spied on Catherine and she thought he acted against her always. She began to believe that Wolsey had always hated her and possibly that she had always hated him also. She held him responsible for the promotion of Henry's bastard son, for tempting the King of France to break the word agreed at Madrid and plunging Europe into war, for ruining the alliance between the two countries, and for seducing the pope and the Italian states. She also held Wolsey responsible for Henry's irritability. It isn't surprising that Catherine also blamed Wolsey for Henry wanting to divorce her. But, Catherine was not the only one with this idea. The ambassador, the emperor, Reginald Pole, Catholic controversialists, and Catholic writers ever since have agreed that Wolsey was probably the instigator. Catherine's thought that Wolsey had put the ideas of divorce into Henry's head was very reasonable. She believed that Wolsey thought this was the best way to safeguard his pro–French policy by removing Catherine and replacing her with a French princess. Wolsey was serious about his French alliance and did hope to arrange a French marriage. He also feared Catherine. He knew that he needed to get rid of her so that he get closer to the king and help him handle his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Prophetic Ministry Book Review Prophetic Ministry by T. Austin Sparks gives a broad overview of prophecy from an evangelical, Christian point of view. The author covers the fundamentals of prophetic ministry including anointing, lifestyle, function, vocation and the resistance to the message. This book captured my attention initially in the discussion of the prophetic ministry extending beyond the predictive. It is not unusual in the Body of Yeshua for the focus in prophetic ministry to be on what the future holds. Sparks rightly speaks of how prophecy involves spiritual interpretation. This spiritual interpretation causes the prophet to view everything through the lens of spiritual implications. Specifically, this spiritual interpretation comes from the Lord as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Prophetic Ministry, the cross is a central theme throughout the book. For Sparks, the cross is a symbol of offense and lack of belief for those who refuse to accept it. And for him, the people who refuse to accept it are specifically the Jews. It is at this point in the book, that the reading became very difficult for me due to the blatant anti–Semitism that leaps off of the pages. Isaiah 53:1 is a specific reference to the Jews in saying, "Who hath believed our message?" The question itself conjures up images only of unbelieving Jews for Sparks. He cites the rich young ruler as being an example of the Jews who were unwilling to give up their possessions and thus were not "emptying out themselves" (Kindle, location 769). The language in this portion of the book labeled "The Offense of the Cross" clearly shows his lack of understanding that Yeshua, his disciples and the Apostle Paul were, in fact, Jewish. Additionally, he fails to understand that Paul never cast aside Judaism. Like many Gentiles, Sparks believes that Paul is now a Christian and anti–Jewish. It is not an uncommon teaching among the Gentiles to think that Yeshua and His followers became Christian. Sparks doesn't say that in the book, but the absence of his acknowledging the Jewishness of the New Testament patriarchs coupled with the fact that this book was written in in the 1948– 1950 time frame suggests an ignorance of this information which was prevalent at that time in American church ... • 7. Rhetorical Analysis Of A Man For All Seasons How can a person stay alive when his own beliefs go against the desires of King Henry? In A Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More struggles to keep his head and morals when faced with the proposition of King Henry's divorce. As the play progresses, the King's divorce becomes a pressing issue and More uses rhetoric to go against the divorce and corrupted government. Silence turns out to be More's most effective method of rhetoric, but towards the beginning and end of the play he makes a few key statements to support his argument. During a meeting with Wolsey, More's skepticism of the divorce is first shown. Wolsey is suggesting support of the divorce so that the King may conceive an heir with Anne Boleyn. More makes the statement, "A dispensation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Essay on King Henry VIII King Henry VIII Born the second son of a royal family, Henry Tudor lived a very interesting life. His future was intended to be the head of the Roman Catholic Church and that fate ended with the death of his brother, Prince Arthur. Henry's majestic life was full of sports, women, and faith. The young King acceded his father to the throne, married six women, and began the English Reformation when he broke away from the Roman Catholic Church and created his own religion. On the 28th day of June 1491 at Greenwich Palace, Elizabeth of York gave birth to her third child Henry Tudor. Henry was named after his father Henry VII and he was the couple's second son, which meant that there was no chance for him to reign as King since he had an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A papal dispensation, or permission from the pope, needed to be issued in order for Prince Henry to marry his brother's widow. According to the book of Leviticus, the marriage was prohibited and "if a brother is to marry the wife of a brother they will remain childless". After the death of her husband, Catherine denied that her marriage had been consummated and that no dispensation was required. Both England and Spain agreed that a papal dispensation was needed to assure that the marriage was justifiable. However, even after the papal dispensation was granted, Prince Henry and his brother's widow did not wed because King Henry VII failed to keep his end of the bargain ("Henry VIII King of England" 2). In 1509, Henry VII died and Henry, heir apparent, became King of England at eighteen years old. After the death of Henry VII and the accession of the throne by his son, Henry became Henry VIII and his first assignment was to execute his father's ministers. It wasn't until a few months after the death of his father that Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon ("Henry VIII King of England" 2). In the early years of Henry VIII's reign, he was tall and handsome. Henry VIII was very talented in many things, including playing various musical instruments, being athletic, being a good linguist, dancing, hunting, and a musical composer among many other attributes (Fry 95). • 15. The Christ Of The Covenants The Christ of the Covenants demonstrates the relationship between five covenants God instigated with Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and David in the Old Testament, and how they are reflected in Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. In answering four basic questions, I discovered this main idea to be true time and time again. Robertson exhibits his vast knowledge of the subject with a concisely structured index outlining one clear point for the entire novel. In his book, The Christ of the Covenants, O. Palmer Robertson views the covenants necessary to the understanding of the Scriptures. They are mandatory for us to attempt to interpret the grand scheme of redemption. While the actual word "covenant" may not appear in Scripture until Genesis 6, some of the five old covenants (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David) were established prior to this. The performance rituals of the covenants were described in depth, thus providing sufficient proof that they did indeed exist. The main message of Scripture lies in redemption, or the Gospel story of the New Testament. Without the Old Testament covenants, we would not be able to understand why and how God fulfills them later on through the birth, death, and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ. Unity describes how the various covenants all relate to one another, beginning with God's covenant with Adam in Creation and the eventual redemption found in Christ. There are two ways the covenants are unified: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Gospel Of Luke Chapter 17 : The Kingdom Of God The Kingdom of God Paper The Gospel of Luke Chapter 17 verses 20–21 is an account of Jesus' reply to the question asked by the Pharisees concerning when the kingdom of God was to come. Jesus answered them saying, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation; neither shall they say, Lo here, or, lo there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you." And of course, the Pharisees nor Jesus' disciples understood His answer. In fact, it only prompted more questions from His disciples. The kingdom of God was a mystery to all who heard Jesus preach about it. Powell (2008) gives us the Wesleyan view of the kingdom of God and writes, "The kingdom of God is not a place that could be identified; it was instead found wherever God's power was manifested. In short, the kingdom of God had come with power, but it remained hidden to those who did not embrace it in a spirit of obedient belief" (p. 183). Israel's failure to see Jesus Christ as the Messiah kept them from understanding that the kingdom of God had come in the person of Jesus Christ. Here again, Jesus is preaching about something that is spiritual and not physical. Little did they know that at that time, they were in the presence of the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ's came into the world to show forth the radiance of God the Father and also to correct their thinking and help them to understand He was the Messiah. He was God in the flesh. His coming was God's coming into the world, therefore, the kingdom of God was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. The Pros And Cons Of Dispensationalism Dispensationalism, as a system of theology, presupposes two main ideas: God works with humans in distinct ways throughout history, and God has a distinct plan for both Israel and the church (Ryrie, 2007). Popularized in the twentieth–century by Cyrus Scofield, dispensationalism is the most popular system of theology taught in North American evangelical churches today, however, and despite the popularity, dispensationalism continues to be rejected and opposed by many scholars and Christian denominations (Bloesch, 2000). Regardless of the opposition, the word dispensation appears in the New Testament and is translated variably to describe stewardships (Luke 12:42; Rom. 16:23; Gal. 4:2), administrations (Luke 16:2; Eph. 1:10; Col. 1:25) and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dispensationalism maintains only one method of salvation through the dispensations, however, the dispensational idea that the content of faith changes, raises suspicions. The law was added in to grace and could not save (Ryrie, 2007). Thus, the law marked out the character of transgressions until Jesus Christ should come (Ryrie, 2007, p. 128). Without the law, there would no knowledge of God's grace, and if righteousness could be gained through the law, grace would have no purpose (Gal. 2:21). Thus, the law's purpose was to mark out grace, while grace fulfilled the law's purpose (Rom. 10:4). Based on the characteristics of God's immutability, this author believes that since God cannot change, neither can the content of faith, the measure of God's grace, or the method and means of salvation. Dispensationalism does add value to Christendom; however, dispensationalism does create confusion over how one is saved. Thus, it is this author's belief, that with a basic understanding of God's characteristic of immutability, the church can eliminate any and all confusion concerning salvation and how one is saved. • 28. Journey Of The Magi Essay Seeing the light while in the tunnel is something we all hope for. Likewise, the "modern poets," or wise men, were longing for the same thing. T.S. Eliot in "The Journey of the Magi," finds the light at the end of the tunnel. By the use of imagery, symbols, and allusions we will see the Magi, Eliot, find his faith. This will not be a physical journey, but this was his life journey. The wise men, in the Bible, went out to find Jesus, their savior. With Eliot being the wise men, or magi, and Jesus also being his savior, this poem in its entirety is an allusion to the Christmas story. He was empty with no hope after the war; it was "The very dead of winter." (5). The winter was a symbol of where he was emotionally in his life. Identically, ... Then inside that room there were some people gambling over silver which alludes to the silver Judas received for denying Jesus. That tavern, or inn, was not where He was found, so Eliot kept going. "And arrived at evening, not a moment too soon/Finding the place; it was (you may say) satisfactory." (30–31) In the Christmas story, the wise men found the manger where their savior was born, and Eliot found his too. He discovered his faith in stanza one and two, and reflected back on it in stanza three. He questioned what he found. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 the Bible says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." When a Christian is saved the old them dies, and a new creation is formed. That is exactly what Eliot was he was saying when he was questioning and confirming what he saw over the journey. Then he says, "But no longer at ease here, in the old dispensation, / With an alien people clutching their gods. / I should be glad of another death." (41–43). The Scriptures foretells that after the rapture of the church a seven year period of unparalleled trouble will follow, known as the tribulation, according to Daniel 9:27. During the tribulation, incomprehensible sin will abound and then divine judgment will prevail. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will return and set up his kingdom and will rule for 1000 years. At the conclusion of the 1000 year rule, an outbreak of sin will be perpetuated and the final judgment for the wicked. Then the new heaven and the new earth will then be established for all eternity. The third person of the triune God is the Holy Spirit. He posses the attributes of God Father and Jesus Christ. He is the personal unseen power and presence of God in the world. The mission of the Holy Spirit is to proclaim overflowing love and world embracing communion of the triune God. God's mission is calling the entire creation into life–giving communion through Jesus the Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Instead they are a Biblical interpretation that divides the history of mankind into seven different categories. There are different versions or interpretations of the seven dispensations, but I will explain the general understanding that is commonly accepted. The seven dispensations are: the dispensation of innocence, the dispensation of conscience, the dispensation of human government, the dispensation of promise, the dispensation of law, the dispensation of grace, and the millennial kingdom of Christ. The first dispensation, innocence, begins with the creation of man (Genesis 1:27) and ends with the fall of man (Genesis 3). This dispensation is called innocence because Adam, the first man, was created innocent and without knowledge of good and evil. Adam was given the authority to rule over everything of the earth, under one condition: Adam and Eve must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. ... The question is not whether or not the topic is taught in the word of God because we can all agree it is. Rather the main question that may need an answer is, what type of baptism that should be practiced in this present Dispensation of Grace. Did God intend that water baptism be practiced in this Dispensation of grace? Questions of this nature would certainly explain as to why there is so much confusion over the matter. In fact, some people believe that salvation is not possible without water baptism. It's a crying shame that some hipper water baptism fans staunchly believe that water baptism equals salvation. In this paper, I will highlight the various baptisms of the Bible, the purpose of water baptism, and finally, I will invest much of my time in addressing the one Baptism mentioned by the apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:4–6, where the seven–fold unity of the Spirit are mentioned, which are essential to the Body of Christ. In Eva's poem one could suggest that the idea of freedom connects with Lisa's idea based on the fact that she wants to extricate herself from the status quo of womanhood in her society completely. She argues against the traditional role of a woman in the apartheid regime and has a strong desire to free herself from all types of bondage and obligation even those related to spiritualty (lines 6 and 7). The use of free verse, when paying attention to the poetic devices used in these poems, works as a tool that displays rebellion and the desire for freedom. In Lisa's poem she makes it clear that freedom cannot be achieved without the realisation of the woman's value and that the struggle will indefinitely continue unless people spare some time to love. The idea of erotic love can also be included in the idea of people loving one another because, according to 'To the Reader' in ( lines 11 –12) in this activity a sense of freedom is realised and expressed. After reading this book, I feel that it fully demonstrates the relationship between five covenants God instigated with Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and David in the Old Testament, and how they are reflected in Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. In answering four basic questions, I discovered this main idea to be true time and time again. This book forced me to think critically on how God's five covenants relate to the entire message presented in Scripture, unity and diversity, covenant theology vs. dispensational theology, and strengths and weaknesses in the entirety of the book. Robertson exhibits his vast knowledge of the subject with a concisely structured index outlining one clear point for the entire novel: the relationship between the old and new covenants. O. Palmer Robertson views the covenants as necessary to understanding Scripture. They are mandatory for us to attempt to interpret the grand scheme of redemption. While the actual word "covenant" may not appear in Scripture until Genesis 6, the first old covenant with Adam was established prior to this. Sufficient proof that it did indeed exist can be found in the detailed descriptions of the rituals of the covenants. Poythress wrote, "Theological systems, whether dispensationalist, covenantal, Calvinist, Arminian, or even modernist, have a profound influence on the way we approach a given [biblical] text." There is no portion of scripture that is more influenced by the theological system of dispensationalist than that of biblical prophecy, particularly in the area of God's redemptive plan from for humanity. The purpose of this essay is to establish that an appropriate understanding of biblical eschatology can best be achieved through a dispensational theological perspective. As Barry Horner points out, although the covenantalists feign a high regard of the role of Jewish people in their covenantal construct, "there is nothing distinctively 'covenantal'...when compared with differing eschatological opinions". Therefore, they view all believers in both the Old and New Testaments are to be regarded as the same faith community. Both Jewish and gentile believers are to be collectively designated as the church and thus all the prophecies regarding both Israel and the church can be amalgamated and regarded as a single entity. Therefore, under covenantalism, the nation of Israel has no distinct future and the entirety of the Scriptures focuses solely on the redemption of the church. Dispensationalism Dispensationalism interprets God's redemptive history for humanity by identifying specific periods of time. These periods of time, or dispensations, are understood as having existed in the past, persisting in the present, and will continue in the future. Charles Ryrie suggests that Dispensationalism can be viewed "as a household run by God. In this household–world God is dispensing or administering its affairs according to His own will and in various stages of revelation in the process of time." Dr. Mitchell defines the hermeneutical basis of Dispensationalism as an inductive interpretation of the Scriptures. It is the ability of the political centre to penetrate the periphery in other to make its presence felt and to maximize political authority (Agi, 1999). While nation–building has to do with horizontal relationship, state building deals with vertical relationship. The process allows political authority and influence to flow from the top or central government down to the various regions while the regions accept and recognizes such authority. • 57. Sabbath Day Religion Sabbath Discussion It is always good to start at the beginning when the Sabbath Day was first instituted. In Gen 2:2–3, God ordains the seventh day to be a day of rest. Sabbath in Hebrew means rest, interruption, and cessation or desists. It is a day God sanctified, consecrated, and dedicated to be a day to keep holy and to rest from all work. Not only were the people to rest, but the land as well was to have its time of rest every seven years (Lev. 25:2–7). In Exodus 20:8–10, God gives the command to the Jews to "remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy". The penalty for disobeying this law was death (Ex. 31:14). This command was given specifically to the Jews. A law that was broken by them among many that caused them to spend 70 years in captivity. Our Sabbath is in Him and He invites all to "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt. 11:28 KJV). So, what about those with jobs that require them to work on the Sabbath? Apostle Paul provides a biblical explanation in Colossians 2:6–17. He writes that in Him (Christ) we are complete (vs. 10) and in verse 14, "the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" and in verse 16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days". In other words, let no man persuade you or tell you what you must eat or what days you are to celebrate. In conclusion, Apostle Paul sums it up on Romans 14:5–6 (KJV), "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own ... • 59. The Mosaic Covenant: Suzerian-Vassal The Mosaic covenant began a new dispensation in which the experience of the Abrahamic promises came through obedience to a conditional law (142–3). Hence, this covenant is a "Suzerian–Vassal" type covenant instead of a grant covenant (142). In the Mosaic covenant, obedience to the Law given by the King (God) allowed for blessing on the people (145 Deut 7:12–15). This Law marked Israel as a separate nation for God (Deut 7:6–11). This covenant also included information on a king to come (Deut 17:14–20), ways to act in the kingdom of God in Israel (e.g. Deut 5), and predictions of a prophet that would speak from God to the people (Deut 18:15). The Mosaic law was fulfilled through Jesus' earthly ministry as he inaugurated the New covenant (194–5). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he ascended into Heaven he took the throne and now takes the kingly role of controlling outcomes and giving gifts (the Holy Spirit) (255–6, Acts 2:33). He will return to a millennial reign when he will have an earthly kingdom and allow resurrected martyrs to serve as his administrators (272, Rev 20:3–4). • 61. Persuasive Essay Against Capital Punishment This position paper will attempt to challenge previous opinions regarding capital punishment. The objective is to persuade the audience to oppose capital punishment by revealing biblical, political, and moral perspectives, as well as supplying effective counters to traditional thinking. This paper seeks to balance each rationale in order to appeal to several mindsets, and beliefs in regard to capital punishment. Main Body The legally authorized killing of someone as punishment for a crime is defined as capital punishment. In regard to capital punishment, commonly known as the death penalty, there is more rationality in the decision to oppose capital punishment than there is to support it. Such rationalities include biblical, political, and moral perspectives. In the light of a biblical approach, there is no authority given to decide who deserves to die. This is reiterated in the New Testament (KJV) Romans 12:19, in which the Bible states, "...avenge not yourselves...Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." In Romans 12:17, specific instruction is also given in regard to evil, such as that of capital punishment: "Recompense [compensate] to no man evil for evil...." Once more, in Romans 12:9, evil is addressed in the form of instruction: "...Abhor that which is evil..." In contrast, it is understandable that one may counter with the fact that Exodus 21:24 states, "Eye for eye, tooth for tooth..." While this may be true, there is no biblical account for which this Mosaic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fellowship between Jew and Gentile is the mystery of fellowship in the Old Testament time period. Beginning of the world (past time period), suggests a vast succession of time in which God hid this fellowship of mystery between Jew and Gentile in His many counsels (Richardson, n.d.). Unlike the previous four dispensations, the Lord holds back his wrath and judgment until the Tribulation period where each person will be judged individually. • 69. Understanding Biblical Dispensations Nathan W. Provost TH1121: Progressive Revelation 25 September 2017 Understanding biblical dispensations helps with knowing more about how God rules His kingdom. There are two dispensations that make up God's will for humanity and His kingdom before the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The dispensations of promise and law are foundations that God uses to make up His administration in His kingdom on earth. A dispensation is a distinct period in the outworking of God's purpose. Looking at these two dispensations we can see that the promise leads into the law, and progressively transforms because God's kingdom plan continues to be revealed slowly. God creates a land covenant during these dispensations that has roots founded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This covenant is unconditional in nature. God's role in this provision was hinged on repentance, obedience, and faith. The Abrahamic Covenant is the foundation for the Land Covenant based on God's truth in Genesis 35:12. The land is promised by God, to the descendants based on obedience and faith counted as righteousness. God keeps His promises even when man falls short of the mark. • 71. How Does Sacrifice Present Thomas's Relationship With King... It was a beautiful spring day 1534, the river was calm and peaceful, the sun shone down upon the king as he was ferried to the estate of his new Lord Chancellor Sir Thomas More. Thomas and King Henry VIII had been friends for a very long time. This friendship as well as Thomas' honesty, knowledge and faithfulness made him the King's most trusted advisor. Because he valued their relationship, he sought Thomas' approval about a very important matter. After docking, he walked toward his friend's dwelling. When he saw him, he dismissed his companion and cried out, "Thomas!" "Your Majesty," replied a puzzled Thomas. "To what do I owe this honorable visit?" he asked still quite shocked from the unexpected arrival of the king. "It is not very common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thomas's knew that his friendship with the king was over. He also understood what King Henry VIII will do when he refuses to support and agree with him. He was greatly saddened because he realized how difficult life would be for him and his family. Yet, in his heart, he knew that he must do God's will rather than the King's. Shortly after More's conversation with the King, he resigned from his position as Lord Chancellor. When the Church still refused to grant the King a dispensation even after the petition. Henry reformed the Church in England and made a new Act. This Act required everyone to recognize King Henry VIII as the Head of the Church of England. Thomas, still being steadfast in his beliefs, did not sign this Act and was, as a result, locked in the Tower of England. For eighteen months he was held in custody. Were he was encouraged to sign the Act and he was tried for treason. Thomas defended himself with the law and was therefore was not accusable. However, he was falsely accused of treason by Master Richard and sentenced to death. Then, on July 6, 1535 he was killed for not recognizing Henry as the head of the Church in England. • 73. Henry Viii's War Of The Roses The War of the Roses was a civil war in England between the houses of York and Lancaster. It occurred after a king died and no clear heir was left. The victor turned out to be Henry Tudor, who became King Henry VII in 1485. He was able to maintain his reign without calling Parliament, therefore he lost no power to it. His son, Arthur, married the daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella, Catherine of Aragon, in an attempt to forge an alliance between the two nations. When Arthur died, Henry VIII wished to continue the alliance, so he requested a dispensation of Canon and Biblical law from the Pope Julius II. Julius was a Renaissance Pope, that is, a rich, humanistic, Italian prince set up by nepotism and acting spiritually only halfheartedly. Julius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next oldest child of Henry was Catherine of Aragon's daughter Mary I; she was Catholic with zeal much like how her father was in his early reign. Mary weds Philip II of Spain but never sees him after he leaves England. Queen Mary I focused her reign mainly on eradicating all Protestants she could before she died, with little intellectual return to Catholicism besides the simple reversion. Mary's reign caused vast amounts of division between Catholicism and Protestantism. After Mary's death, Elizabeth I returned the Anglican Church to the state it was in during Edward's reign. Elizabeth established a middle way or via media in which people would be allowed to practice religion; it is a spectrum ranging from radical protestant (heretics) to Jesuits; anything in between was tolerated. The belief of the Anglicana Ecclesia was summarized in the 39 Articles (revised version of Cranmer's 42). Because of Henry VIII's Church reforms, Elizabeth was the supreme governor and head of the church, possessing the power to appoint bishops and veto faith changing legislation. • 75. Forsaken Promises What does the future hold? What will happen at the end of the age? Will the church be raptured up into Heaven or will the church remain on Earth? Are the Jews still God's chosen people? Has the church replaced Israel? These and other questions have been asked since Jesus left Earth and ascended into Heaven. Since that day Christians have been looking and longing with eager anticipation for the return of Christ. The study of the return of Christ, or last things, is known as Eschatology, and within Eschatology there are several schools of thought concerning the Church and Israel. Boice writes, "In the OT there is the creation of an ekklesia, an assembly of those who are called out of a normal relationship to the world in order to be a special people of God." The church is not "Plan B" in God's plan of salvation but rather was hinted at in the OT through the calling out of Abraham and Israel but was not fully realized until the NT. Blaising argues this point when he writes, "The church is seen less and less as a parenthesis in the divine program. Instead it is seen as vitally linked to and comprehended in the plan of God revealed in the Old Testament." The sharp line which is drawn between the Church and Israel is dulled within PD as this view attempts to harmonize the two Testaments into one unifying work of God throughout all of history. TD views the church as in a parenthetical relationship with God and His plan for Israel. TD taught that the offer to the kingdom of Israel was genuine, but it was also conditional and contingent on the nations response, when Israel choose to reject the Messiah, the offer of Jesus Christ was offered to the Gentiles and the kingdom did not immediately appear but was postponed. TD argue that had the Israelites accepted the Messiah the Kingdom would have begun immediately, however, since Israel rejected Jesus the offer went to the Gentiles. Therefore, since ... • 77. President Nelson Reflection Paper Life: After reading about President Nelson's life it really impressed me the story about the doctor who started bleeding in his stomach. The reason this impressed me was because none of his colleges could do anything to help him through their medical knowledge, but only the power of the priesthood could save the life of that man. What a blessing to have such power nowadays, and what a joy to have men of God spiritual prepared to act in the Lord's name. I loved what President Nelson said regarding the gift of healing and the power of the priesthood; "Men can do very little of themselves to heal sick or broken bodies...With an education they can do a little more; with advanced medical degrees and training, a little more yet can be done. The real power to heal, however, is a gift from God." I have not only being blessed with the power of the priesthood in my life through my husband, but I have I have being able to see how his power has blessed other people as well. Testimony: Among the aspects that impressed me the most about President Nelson's testimony was that the Abrahamic covenants apply to us because God promised to Abraham that through his seed all nations will be blessed and we are part of Abraham lineage. President Nelson taught in his testimony that there are two important aspects that make possible for us to receive those promised blessings. The first one, our faith and works. The second, it is possible only through the Savior. According to President Nelson ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 79. The Significance Of The Holy Spirit In The Old Testament In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit is the source of life and creation. The Holy Spirit worked in the lives of men that God placed His Spirit upon such as prophets and kings to perform His service. Therefore, the Holy Spirit was not given universally in the Old Testament but selectively and temporarily for service. However, in the New Testament, the Spirit grants life to God's people and believers are brought to faith, in Jesus, through the sovereign work of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit of God is the driving divine force that assisted God with the creation of the things on the earth. Gen. 1:1–2, (KJV), records the first account of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and the earth was without form and void; and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. In addition, Ps. 33:6 records that the Word of the Lord made the heavens and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. After God created the earth as a habitation, He created man in His own image and likeness. In Gen. 2:7, the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul. Therefore, the Holy Spirit grants natural life to all human beings. Paul said the spiritual life is not first, but the natural life is, then the spiritual (1 Cor. 15:46).
