Why Won't Your Audi A3 Shift Into Reverse Gear Let's Investigate
Outreach During COVID-19 by Steven Alaman
1. Equitable engagement during COVID-19
• Navigating the digital divide
• Engage by listening and be creative, be
ready to change your approach
More outreach is still needed
• Most consumers still remain unaware
• Less than 10% of automaker advertising
• Opportunity to shift daily patterns and
advocate for change
Adapting to virtual engagement
• Virtual EV 101 in Spanish and English
• Collaborating with new partner and local
orgs to expand reach to new audiences

Turo and Get Around have seen an increase
in demand since COVID-19

by completing the following steps:

• Open all windows and turn on the A/C to
air the vehicle out
• Clean the entire car with a standard car
cleaning solution
• Disinfect all high touch surfaces again
using alcohol (handles, keys, rearview
mirror, knobs, steering wheel)
• Replacing hand sanitizer in the vehicle
with a new to go sized bottle
Anyone can host their electric vehicle!

Digital divide may make some communities impossible to reach during covid-19.
Understand that many communities are facing unprecedented challenges and that reaching out in a way that seems as if it is business as usual can be harmful
Listen, assist and build trust.
Even though some consumers may only be reachable through in person events, Forth still wants to air on the side of caution and has canceled in person events until 2021.

Luckily the Portland Auto Show was not unaffected by Covid-19, but other autoshows such as the Detroit auto show were not as lucky and the future in uncertain for future auto shows and other events
During the Covid-19 pandemic Forth repurposed its electric fleet to assist front line workers and free food delivery programs
Forth loaned 3 100% electric vehicles to The Botanist house for free meal delivery to people who lost their jobs due to covid-19
This program sought to also keep the restaurant’s local supply chain employed and working during the pandemic as well.
Forth loaned out its Plug in Hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander to the local organization Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center to support their mission to bring Covid-19 tests and treatment to people currently experiencing homelessness
The loaned Honda fits are placed to be used by the organizations the house them and the local communities in hopes that they will be used a clean, safe alternative mode of transportation
Forth hosts low cost %100 electric rentals on Turo and plug-in hybrid rentals on Get Around to let consumers experience a longer test drive and increase electric vehicle access to our local community
There is more demand than usual for new safe and affordable mobility options due to the decreased use of public transportation. A survey showed that 57% of people United States are less likely to use public transportation due to covid-19 concerns. 24 million Americans relied on public transportation systems for their daily commutes.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic public transportation use has decreased and many of the people who relied on them are looking for safe transportation alternatives. We want to use this opportunity to introduce the local community to using carshares and electric vehicles
