Evaluation Question 3 - What kind of
 media institution might distribute
      your product and why?
Who would distribute my product
I have looked at a number of publishers and I think Bauer Media are the best for my magazine. They have a
    very good reputation with producing magazines such as Q, Kerrang and Mojo. Kerrang is almost similar as
     my magazine as it focuses on bands and more niche music lovers. Therefore I think this publisher would
     benefit the magazine as it already knows how to distribute a niche music audience. With them already
      distributing other large scale music magazine such as Q magazine it is evidently a well established and
       holds a good reputation in the magazine industry. My magazine could bring something else to their
     distribution of magazines. Kerrang does seem very familiar to Pitch magazine however Kerrang focuses
       more on rock music, mine is more indie. Bauer Media does not have a magazine like pitch and could
                       therefore benefit them by reaching out to an other music audience.
Advertising
Advertising is a important process if I want my magazine to be purchased. My magazine could be advertised
  inside some of Bauer Medias other music magazines such as Q and Kerrang which have similar qualities to
   my magazine and the audience of these magazine may be interested in a more indie genre making them
    want to buy it. The magazine could be advertised on music channels or normal channels so that a large
     audience of different tastes in music could be interested in it. Advertising on the web could also be a
    possibility such as on social networking site and on adverts on YouTube videos. Or radio stations could
   advertise as well as simple ways such as billboards all of these generate interest in the audience so that
                                          they want to go out and buy it.
Distribution
I would distribute my magazine to a more indie audience that is fairly niche but is becoming increasing
               popular. To do this I would distribute my magazine in large super markets such as
          Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrison's, WH Smiths and other shops. I would also encourage
       subscription to the magazine so that it would be cheaper each fortnight generating a sustainable
     income for the magazine. I would also distribute it online when something similar is browsed online
    the magazine could pop up at the side. This pop up could lead straight to the website where they can
      decide whether they would like to purchase it, and in doing this they could go out to the shops and
                                                      buy it.

My magazine could be advertised inside some of Bauer Medias other music magazines such as Q and Kerrang which have similar qualities to my magazine and the audience of these magazine may be interested in a more indie genre making them want to buy it. The magazine could be advertised on music channels or normal channels so that a large audience of different tastes in music could be interested in it. Advertising on the web could also be a possibility such as on social networking site and on adverts on YouTube videos. Or radio stations could advertise as well as simple ways such as billboards all of these generate interest in the audience so that they want to go out and buy it.
  • 4. Distribution I would distribute my magazine to a more indie audience that is fairly niche but is becoming increasing popular. To do this I would distribute my magazine in large super markets such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrison's, WH Smiths and other shops. I would also encourage subscription to the magazine so that it would be cheaper each fortnight generating a sustainable income for the magazine. I would also distribute it online when something similar is browsed online the magazine could pop up at the side. This pop up could lead straight to the website where they can decide whether they would like to purchase it, and in doing this they could go out to the shops and buy it.
