• Behaviors that promote trust: Be present Be open Listen without judgment and with empathy Seek understanding (seek to understand then be understood- 7habits?) View learning as mutual Honor the person- mutual respect Honor the process- read the paragraph from the book on this. pg. 26
• Reflective practice to improve schools- when we reflect together as a learning community we create a supportive web for students and families
• Nurturing ourselves as learners. Be willing to risk.
• (read from bottom of pg 57 in reflective practice book)
• Examples- 3 rd graders coordinating interviews for reading movie
• Open ended, start with kids’ questions
• Experimenting with things we began last year…continuing and reflecting
• Moodle courses, creating Jewish resources, sharing expertise, tutorial design
• " I learned to rework a sentence 6 or 8 times until it is as short and clear as possible and to rearrange sentences to have a more logical order. The most valuable...experience was becoming part of an established community with a shared goal and policies in place for both content and interactions between users. I also learned how to communicate clearly with people through writing without knowing who they were in real life."
• QR code is the connection between a physical object and virtual information. , Shana can have the kids record reflections of creating their artwork and put QR codes on the art.
• TEDxRedmond is happening Sept 10, 2010 (organized by youth, for youth)
• Infographics make complex data easier to understand using visuals
• Stories- TED, Jake Gould – goes with serendipity? Alan November, what else???
