In a collaborative work group, use a variety of technologies to produce a digital presentation or product in a curriculum area. (1, 2, 6) For younger students it would be great to introduce PowerPoint. Students could work in groups to create a PowerPoint assignment that is in line with the curriculum.
5. Find and evaluate information related to a current or historical person or event using digital resources. (3) Through using the internet show kids important educational websites they can use to obtain information. Also showing kids how to watch video on the internet so they can research a particular subject.
3. Engage in learning activities with learners from multiple cultures through e-mail and other electronic means. (2, 6) For kids to be able to talk via electronic mean I would set up an e-mail account for all of my students. They would be able to talk to each other outside of the class and be able to bounce ideas off each other. Also through the e-mail account they will be able send assignments to themselves through e-mail and they can then show the assignments via the computer.
7. Demonstrate the safe and cooperative use of technology. (5) It is imperative to teach young kids about internet safety. I would create a lesson plan that tells kids about the dangers. Then I would show kids the dangerous websites so they would stay away from them.
