Forming Characteristics of Stage :  Polite, impersonal, watchful, guarded, testing rules. Goal:  Get to know one another, share vision, learn task and roles, learn what skills and tools will be needed to do Job. Actions:  Listen, seek clarification, ask questions, socialize, build relationships, learn personal and company history, learn org charts, explore. Learn vision, mission and values.
storming Characteristics of Stage:   Difficulties, conflict, confrontation, feeling stuck, lack of team commitment Goal:  Learn how to deal with stress and conflict, how to stay motivated and one team during rough times Actions:  Seek first to understand and then to be understood, flex personal style, inquire first advocate later, think win/win
Norming Characteristics of Stage:   Organized, develop skills, give feedback, establish procedures Goal:  Focus on performance improvement through skill development and relationship enhancement Actions:  Coach each other, seek out personal development opportunities, work together to set standards
Performing Characteristics of Stage:   Open, supportive, flexible, high morale, strong skills, fun Goal:  Continue to grow, learn and evolve.  Constant attention is required to maintain high performance Action:  Celebrate success, discover what inspires, continue to seek out development opportunities, seek new challenges, look to the future
