Goal today is to go through the basics on how to create a business page, maybe answer some questions you have about how to navigate between your personal and business pages. Creating A Facebook Page Go to… www.facebook.com/pages/create.php (If you don’t currently have an account, this will walk you through it) Company/Org has mission, founded, awards & products Local Bus. Has open date, hours, parking, etc. Local business: If you have a ‘bricks and mortar’ store and want people to physically visit you, click the Local Business or Place page type. It asks for a few particular items such as business hours, credit cards, parking, and etc. Choose Local Business or Place if people physically visit your location—for example a church, concert venue, hospital, theater, museum, or art gallery Company: If you have an online business or store then ‘Company Organization or Institution’, or ‘Brand or Product’ will be a better match for you. The about area immediately underneath your cover image and profile picture is one of the most important elements on your page. It’s the only space near the top where you can actually include a clickable and direct link back to your site (you aren’t even allowed to write out a link in your cover image), but it’s even more important because most people will land on your wall first, so this becomes your visible elevator pitch. Make it count.
