  2. Goal today is to go through the basics on how to create a business page, maybe answer some questions you have about how to navigate between your personal and business pages. We also want to give you some actionable tips and strategies you can leave with and put to use today to help grow your likes and shares and get your customers to engage with you in a way that will result in additional business for you, whether it’s booking a room, selling a product online, filling up empty salon appointments or raising awareness for a non-profit event.

Creating A Facebook Page Go to… www.facebook.com/pages/create.php (If you don’t currently have an account, this will walk you through it) Company/Org has mission, founded, awards & products Local Bus. Has open date, hours, parking, etc. Local business: If you have a ‘bricks and mortar’ store and want people to physically visit you, click the  Local Business or Place page type. It asks for a few particular items such as business hours, credit cards, parking, and etc. Choose Local Business or Place if people physically visit your location—for example a church, concert venue, hospital, theater, museum, or art gallery Company: If you have an online business or store then ‘Company Organization or Institution’, or ‘Brand or Product’ will be a better match for you. The Company, Organization or Institution Page is best if people don’t visit your location, or if your events are always someplace different Can be changed!   4. SHOW:::: Add An Image – you will see the little icon right in the corner, click on it to add a cover image – you can browse your computer or if you have already added photos to your page, you can choose one of those if they meet the requirements.
  5. Cannot include anything that is included in the “about” section: address, email, url, phone, etc. No facebook related features such as like button, share or arrows pointing to the like. It is simple to use and works fine. Image can be uploaded from your computer or from your Facebook photo album. The profile image becomes the thumbnail that shows next to all of your posts. This is a great branding tool!

It’s the only space near the top where you can actually include a clickable and direct link back to your site (you aren’t even allowed to write out a link in your cover image), but it’s even more important because most people will land on your wall first, so this becomes your visible elevator pitch. Make it count.
