2. On the front cover of my music magazine front cover I used the image to attract the
reader, having the guitar slightly pointed forward to the audience it would make the reader feel
like it was pointed at them and the magazine was all directed to them, addressing them. The bright
red colour of the Puff attracts my audience with an interesting freebee. The strapline of “Because
any other magazine would be way too mainstream” defines my target audience as being someone
unique one of a kind, which is something everyone wants to appear. The list of features will attract
my audience as they are features that they would be interested in and attracted by. Having a
competition to win a mac will attract the reader as they have a chance to get something free out
of the magazine.
3. My contents page attracts the reader in a few different ways. The bright colour of the background
would attract the eye or my target audience. I also look and image of my mac in the point of view
of the reader which would address and engage them. The continuing use of the font from the
masthead will attract the reader’s eye and pull it thought the magazine. The layout and mixture of
fonts used in my features will attract the attention of my target audience.
4. My double page spread attracts the reader but having the one large image taking up the one side
of the double page, this also fits with conventions of magazines, as it adds a visual aid to the
article. As well as this the highlighted, blown up quotes from the text attract the eye. The reader
will then want to find out what the quote it talking about and so read the article. As I have laid out
my article as an interview it involves questions which would also be directed to the audience as so
they would answer then feeling like the magazine was addressing them. The extra tour date and
how to get in touch attract interest and also make the pages look more visually appealing.
