How did you attract/address your audience?

2. My audience will be attracted to my magazine because of my minimal and simplistic layout, which connotes my
indie/alternative and it is pleasing to the eye. I used my artist to attract my audience by styling her in an interesting
and aesthetic outfit, which would catch the attention of my audience. The crisp white t-shirt creates a clean and
bright look making the focus the motif on her shirt. This will attract my audience because it is a very unique piece of
clothing and it is very visual, making the audience interested in my artist style. In addition the look of my artist is very
relatable to other female artists such as Lana Del Rey and Lorde, making the audience want to read about the artist.
My target audience will be attracted to the fact that my artist gives a new impression on fashion and music making
them want to find out about her in more detail. Also they will instantly be attracted to my artist because she is a
similar age, making her more relatable with trends and interests such as music. My target audience will feel attracted
to my mast head 'Indigo' because it is very unique to any other magazines and is quite edgy. Also due to it being a
harsh white colour it stands out from the magazine page more, making it draw in the attention of the audience. My
front cover colour scheme will draw my target audience in massively because the purples, pinks and oranges/reds all
give a very aesthetic look and make the whole page appear pleasing, especially all the elements together. The colour
palette is very bold and makes a strong impression on the page, meaning that my magazine would stand out more
when compared to a pastel colour scheme magazine cover. My cover lines, consisting of indie/alternative bands will
attract the audience because they are likely to enjoy the selection of bands, due to them being quite well known in
the indie music industry. My magazine is similar to other magazines such as Clash and DIY, who have a similar target
audience as my magazine, however I have differences; such as my magazine has an artistic look. This difference
draws my target audience in and makes them appreciate my layout when compared to other indie/alternative music
magazines. When photographing my artist for my main image I made her look into the camera, so her eyes are facing
directly out of the page, giving the impression that she is making eye contact with the audience. This draws my
target audience to my magazine because it creates a connection between my artist and the audience. This makes
them intrigued by her and want to buy my magazine. The mast head and artist name grab the attention and please
my target audience because of the bold and uniform font that I used. The professional look of my magazine will
captivate my audience because everything is centralized giving an even appearance. The makeup used on my artist
will grab the attention of my audience because the bright eye shadow makes her eyes stand out from the page and
the colour is not utilized in any of the other elements, making it a strong attraction. The fonts that I have used create
a very stylized and simplistic look, meaning they give an aesthetic appearance overall. My artist name font is in italics,
which is quite unusual because most magazine artist names are in a bold because they make a more powerful
impression. Due to this it attracts the audience more because they appreciate when magazines go against
conventions because it makes them more unique and interesting. The clean, crisp edge around the magazine gives a
very sleek and aesthetic appearance to the magazine, making it more pleasing to the audience.

3. CONTENTS PAGE:The layout of my magazine is very simplistic and minimalistic, meaning that it would attract my audience
because it makes the information easily readable and clear.Also the layout of the text and photos are very
pleasing because everything lines up evenly, giving an aesthetic appearance.The descriptions of my artists
will interest my target audience because I have included rhetorical questions, making them want to turn to
read the article to find out the answer.This is a very effective technique, which is conventionally used in
magazines because it makes the audience want to read the magazine to find out what the answer is and to
find out more. Also this written description is written very positively, persuading the audience to turn and
read the magazine article, which attracts them into buying the magazine edition. I have made the colour
scheme on this page very gender neutral with yellows, blues and pinks being used to attract both a male and
female audience.The colour scheme allows me to attract my entire target audience (80% female and 20%
male) when compared to the cover page which attracts a female audience due to the pink and purple colours
used. Also the colour scheme effectively compliments each other, making the overall page appear very
unique and aesthetic, which attracts the audience.The vibrant yellow present in the photograph really
stands out from the page, giving a bold and fiery look, encouraging the audience to buy my magazine. I have
used similar fonts to the ones that I have utilised on my contents page because I wanted to create a flow
between the pages.This will attract my audience because it will give them a consistent professional and
sleek look throughout the magazine.The photography present on my contents will attract my audience
because it gives them an aesthetic visual look at what will be present in the magazine. Also the photos
appear very professional due to the high quality image and the interesting background.This will make the
audience want to see more photos like this, meaning it would make them want to buy the magazine. In
addition there is an interesting artistic element of the graffiti in the background of the picture of AraWilder,
which will make my target audience interested into seeing more visual pieces of art.The unique topics and
popular bands create lots of interest in my magazine, making my audience want to buy it.This is due to the
large variety of bands ranging from popular to under rated indie/alternative musicians, which enables my
audience to read about their favourite musicians and find new music to listen to.This is a successful
attraction because my target market will purely buy my magazine for the music. I created my contents page
so it would be very easy to navigate around and intake all the information, to make it easier for my audience
to see all of the layers.This is effective in making my magazine more admirable, making my target audience
enticed to read it. My audience will feel attracted to this page because I created a large title, ensuring they
would understand that this page is the contents page.

4. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD:My double page spread will entice my target audience because it looks like a
conventional magazine layout, with the main image on one page and the main article
on the other, which makes the audience look at it as if it is professionally created. In
addition this double page is very clean and sophisticated due to the spaced out text
and large main image.This will attract the audience because they will not be put off by
a cluttered or unpleasing layout, meaning they would be more inclined to buy the
magazine.The main image gives personality to the page, giving the audience
something interesting to look at.The background of my image is very visual and allows
the audience to see a wide range of elements, such as the dirt and bricks.This gives a
unique impression and makes the page look more desirable to my target audience
because it is not boring like photography, which has been taken in a photography
studio.Also the page is instantly more interesting because the image is different to the
one present on my cover page.This makes my double page appear more original and
gives it chance to stand out more effectively in the magazine, gripping my audience
into the pleasing visual elements.This image also shows the bright personality of my
artist due to the bright outfit and unusual surroundings, making my audience more
attracted to her. My article is interview based, making my target audience enticed to
read it because they prefer interview based articles and it enables them to understand
my artist more, due to her sincere and realistic replies.This gives a more personal
experience for my audience because they get to know what kind of language she uses
and her chatty responses make her appear more favourable to my target audience.
Also it gives the audience an interaction between the artist and themselves because
when reading the article, it makes it seem like they are asking the questions and they
are answering them.This makes the article more enjoyable for them to read, which
makes them more likely to buy the edition.The edgy title which effectively stands out
from the page, captivates the audience and makes them want to read the whole page.
The colour scheme of this page is very effective and makes everything flow together
because all of the colours have been picked out of the photograph, this makes the
double page appear more desirable for my target audience.As well as this the artist
name stands out from the page, making sure the audience knows who the article is
about and it gives a very simplistic and aesthetic appearance.The overall look and
content of the double page spread will attract my audience because it appears very
aesthetic and pleasing to the eye, as well as the article being informative and chatty.
