The locomotor system is made up of the skeleton and musculature and is responsible for movement. The skeleton provides structure, protection, and attachment points for muscles. Muscles are attached to bones via tendons and allow both voluntary and involuntary movement when signaled by the nervous system or other organs. Bones and muscles are classified based on their location in the head, trunk, or limbs. Joints connect bones and allow different ranges of motion. Tendons are flexible but non-elastic fibers that connect muscles to bones.

2.  The locomotor system is responsible for carrying
out the muscular responses created by the
nervous system .These responses create
movement.
 The locomotor system is made up of the
skeleton and the musculature.

3.  The skeleton participates in movemet ,it holds
up and it protects some delicate organs ,like the
heart or brain.

4.  The musculature is made up of all the
muscles in the body . Tendons attach
muscles to the bone.

5. •Voluntary movements : These movements
respond to an order from the brain
•Involuntary movements: These movements
respond to an order from other organs:
― Spinal cord
― Brain stem

6.  We classify the bones of the skeleton by where
they are in the body:
 Head bones :There are two groups
— Skull bones: protect the brain.
―Facial bones : like the nasal.
Trunk bones : There are two sections.
― The spine is made up of vertebrae
― The rib cage is made up of ribs and the sternum
Limb bones:
-Upper limbs
- Lower limbs

7.  Joints are the union between two or more
bones .
― Fixed
― Movable
― Semi-movable

8. THE MUSCULATURE
 Long muscles
 Flat and wide muscles
 Round muscles

9.  We also classify muscles by where they are in the
body:
 Head muscles
 Trunk muscles:
― in the neck
― in the front
―in the back
Limb muscles:
―in the upper limbs
―in the lower limbs

10.  Tendons are white fibres that connect most
muscles to the bones .They can bend because
they are flexible ,but they are not elastic
 They have different shapes
