      Resource to share/exchange education info
      Accept online donations

      Profiles –personal page with personal and professional info, photos, events, applications
      Network – based on geographic location, school, company, etc.
      Friends– People you are connected to on network, they are able to view your personal profile
      Wall – Homepage of profile with comments, activity
      Applications –allow you to interact with your friends in creative ways, including games, quizzes, etc.
      Groups – create a group surrounded by a specific interest.
      Fan Pages– similar to groups, personal profile/mini-web page for a business or organization.
    • Advantages
      Growing membership, mostly college educated and internet savvy
      Essentially free marketing (self, products/services), inexpensive to drive traffic
      You can search/target by network (city, college, high school, or even company)
      Place easy to create ads, targeted to members profile info
      Connect to anyone, from anywhere around the world, accessible through mobile devices
      Add RSS feed through profile, so friends are instantly notified of updates to your blog
    • Disadvantages
      Only have full access to one network at a time
      Groups and Fan pages
      Cannot delete your account/info, only deactivate it

      Browse/View- by topic, keyword, or popular videos on main page
      Communities - broken down by category
      Channel– personal profile for individual/organization
    • Advantages
      All you need is digital camera and internet connection
      Registration is not required to view videos (however needed for additional features),
      Videos can be embedded on websites (just copy and paste html code), blogs, etc
    • Disadvantages
      Videos not always safe for work or appropriate for children

      Tweet– Microblog post of 140 characters or less (including spaces)
      Follow (er)- Receive user posts on homepage (higher number=greater influence)
