1. Font Analysis
For my magazine, I had to analyse and choose which fonts were suitable for use on the publication
and therefore, I had to go on free font websites in order to look and test out what fonts I am going
to use.
After searching through, I have come up with the following fonts that I am going to work with for my
magazine:
Karmatic Arcade
I will be using this font for the title logo of the magazine, which reads out “Spectrum”, the
masthead and also the issue information. Its appearance is hollow and has a very
technological feel to it that suits the whole theme and genre that is running with my music
magazine. This font will also be used for the numbering of the contents page to help keep
the running theme of techno going after the logo and issue information.
Bebas
I will be using this font for the sell-lines of the front cover and also for sub-titles and titles
included with the magazine as well. It is in all in upper-case but has a very bold feel to it that
stands out and is affectively good for what I want to use it with. I will also be using this as
the main font for typing up; however it will be at a smaller font than the titles and sub-titles.
Saved By Zero
I will be using this font for the main sell-line’s title to show emphasis on the musician that I
have used as the main image for the front cover. It looks very techno and is fitting for the
genre that I am working with, which is Electronic Dance music.
TM Cen MT
I will also be using this as the main font for typing up; however it will be at a smaller font
than the titles and sub-titles. I have also used this font for the contents page details and
Editor’s note as well.
