Early Years Foundation Stage
Personal, Social and Emotional
Development - This is one of our
Prime areas of learning.
This area of learning and Development is split into
three Early Learning goals.
1.Making relationships
2. Self confidence and self awareness
3. Managing feelings and behaviour.
Small group work
We sometimes work in small groups .
Here were looking at the School rules
and thinking about ways we can help
each other..
Persona Dolls
We use Persona dolls
to act out different
scenarios . The children
play an active part at
these times.
Christopher the Persona Doll
This is our
most
realistic
Persona
doll.
In the garden with Christopher.
Gradually children gather. We discover a
plaster on Christopher's Knee
The story develops.
The children offer
there ideas and
possible solutions.
In a non threatening way the
children have been able to
look at situations from
someone else's point of view
they have talked amongst
themselves and also with
staff and here they have
offered kindness and also
demonstrated empathy.
Peer Massage
This can be a very good tool to use at school. parents must
give permission.
Staff show the Children pictures of
the massage moves and
sometimes demonstrate the
moves on each other.
The Children then try
out the moves on each
other if they want to .
There is never any
pressure for to take
part.
How it works
The Forehead stroke
Peer massage promotes
positive relationships.
Peer massage promotes friendships.
Massage
sessions can
help to create a
calm classroom
environment.
