In the forest
TOPIC / MAIN IDEA A set of movement activities developing cooperation
SUBJECT Physical Education
MATERIALS Klanza sheet, music, CD player
OBJECTIVES
1. Integrating children through various actvities.
2. Mastering team work and cooperation.
3. Developing a sense of security, mutual trust, awareness of
self and awareness of others.
4. Boosting confidence both on a physical and emotional level.
METHODS AND TECHNIQUES Sherborne Developmental Movement
ACTIVITY
1. Running freely and listening to music, finding a partner when
the music stops.
2. Stretching in pairs.
3. Building a tunnel and going through it.
4. Moving a tree (one child stands still, the other is trying to
move it).
5. Massaging (Woodpecker healing a tree) - gentle scratching,
pinching, kneading, stroking etc.
6. Rolling a tree trunk – one child lies on the floor and the other
tries to roll it over, children take turns.
7. Having fun in the forest – walking and running, trying to avoid
obstacles, jumping over tree trunks.
8. Dragging a tree trunk ie. a child lying on the floor.
9. Playing with Klanza sheet - Wind and Tree (a child standing
still in the middle of the sheet just like a tree, other children
wave the sheet trying to knock the tree down).
10. Massaging hands – after a day in the forest little
woodcutters need to relax.
11. Relaxing while listening to sounds of the forest. Breathing
exercises. Listening to partner’s body.
ASSESSMENT The activity helps forming positive relationships, improves
communication and children’s creative expression.

LITTLE EUROPEANS KNOW EACH OTHER EU LLP COMENIUS MULTILATERAL SHOOL PARTNERSHIP PROJECT ACTIVITY PLAN FOR PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION SUBJECTS COUNTRY / CITY POLAND SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN no. 240 LEVEL / AGE GROUP 5/6 year olds THE NAME OF THE ACTIVITY TITLE OF THE LESSON In the forest TOPIC / MAIN IDEA A set of movement activities developing cooperation SUBJECT Physical Education MATERIALS Klanza sheet, music, CD player OBJECTIVES 1. Integrating children through various actvities. 2. Mastering team work and cooperation. 3. Developing a sense of security, mutual trust, awareness of self and awareness of others. 4. Boosting confidence both on a physical and emotional level. METHODS AND TECHNIQUES Sherborne Developmental Movement ACTIVITY 1. Running freely and listening to music, finding a partner when the music stops. 2. Stretching in pairs. 3. Building a tunnel and going through it. 4. Moving a tree (one child stands still, the other is trying to move it). 5. Massaging (Woodpecker healing a tree) - gentle scratching, pinching, kneading, stroking etc. 6. Rolling a tree trunk – one child lies on the floor and the other tries to roll it over, children take turns. 7. Having fun in the forest – walking and running, trying to avoid obstacles, jumping over tree trunks. 8. Dragging a tree trunk ie. a child lying on the floor. 9. Playing with Klanza sheet - Wind and Tree (a child standing still in the middle of the sheet just like a tree, other children wave the sheet trying to knock the tree down). 10. Massaging hands – after a day in the forest little woodcutters need to relax. 11. Relaxing while listening to sounds of the forest. Breathing exercises. Listening to partner’s body. ASSESSMENT The activity helps forming positive relationships, improves communication and children’s creative expression.
