The document discusses a film production targeting teenagers aged 12-13 and up in the UK to raise awareness about responsible behavior. It aims to educate teenagers about their actions and encourage more positive conduct. While some scenes contain mild violence and language, the film is rated for ages 12+ to appeal directly to teenagers. By targeting all regions of the UK, the film hopes to start important conversations about how society's expectations may differ in various communities. The producers believe the film could succeed financially if marketed well to parents and teenagers.
1. The audience for my product would be teenagers, so
would be anywhere from 12/13 years and above. I have
chosen this age group because one of the aims of our film
was to make teenagers aware of the way they are acting
towards each other and hopefully make them realise how
important it is to not do it and act like how they should be.
Also, by adults viewing this it will hopefully encourage
them to persuade their children to act in a responsible
manner towards each other.
The audience play a big part in our film because they are
who we are trying to get the message across to.
2. Our production is classified as suitable
for 12 years and above. The reason for
this is that it contains low levels of
violence and the opening scene
doesn’t contain any bad language.
We wanted to make the scene
classified for 12 years and above
because we wanted to make it
unique and make it clear that we
made this for the benefit of them so
they can see what is going on around
them.
I also feel that if teenagers knew that
a production company had taken
time and invested in producing a film
specifically for them, and it looks
interesting, they would be more likely
to watch it that a film that is classified
as a U or PG.
3. The location of our target audience is all
over the UK, we are not highlighting any
particular region and by doing this we are
able to make our product available for
cinemas up and down the country to
broadcast to its local people. We want to
persuade as many cinema companies to
take on our film as possible so that the aims
of our product can be met.
In the different regions of the
country, behaviour in society is
different, the producers (myself and my
production group) are from London, so
only really get to see what life is like in the
city that we live in, but by targeting
everywhere in the UK, people are able to
compare life in their local area to our film
and our classmates agree with us that the
way people behave is different depending
on where you live.
4. Would our product succeed given the target
audience?
I do feel that we would be able to succeed and
make profit given the 12 years and above target
audience age range because if we can raise the
awareness of this film and advertise it well, we
hope that parents would encourage and even
pay for their child to go to the cinema and view
this film or buy it themselves when released on
DVD/Blu-Ray.
What makes our production different from the rest?
Our production has a meaning to it, although our
opening scene may just seem like a teenager
stalking another teenager to get him beaten
up, we are just portraying what happens on the
streets of parts of England each year, and at the
end of the full film the message will be clear of
how society should be in this day and age.
