For our presentation we made a PowerPoint concerning Character Education. Character
Education involves teaching morals, manners, ethical reasoning, conflict resolution, and respect
for others. Teacher should implement this in every classroom and demand the respect of their
students and students respecting other students. Students should have the common sense of
treating others the way they want to be treated. Have manners like not talking and disturbing
others in class, should be a requirement everywhere in schools. This all starts in the home and
with the parents. Parents can’t always depend on teachers instilling these morals into their
children. If the parents don’t start teaching their kids these characteristics at a young age, they
can’t always expect the teacher to implement them. Some tools you can use to teach your kids
these principals these characteristics could be YouTube, a QR, Voki, Poster, and Facebook. On
YouTube you can make public service announcements to get this information out to students,
watch videos on table manners, teach hygiene, respecting parents and others, and anti-bullying
videos. QR’s can give students information on how to deal with certain situations, teach table
manners, and information about bullying. Vokis can be a fun alternative to teach kids manners.
You could use funny characters on how to deal with a conflict. A poster can be used to teach kids
how to wash your hands and the steps. Teachers can have their students make poster on what
respect is to them and how they respect others every day. Facebook can be used in making a
classroom page for students to comment on videos and communicate with classmates. Making
2. this a weekly assignment, kind of like a discussion board. Character Education is the foundation
of a successful classroom and without this pillar in education children could possibly not get the
true education they deserve.
