Assure Method: Day 1
Objective
For my students, ranging between the ages of 14-18 years old, they will be required to
know the content concerning information about the importance of Physical Education. I require
80%-100% and 100% effort on each activity. of my students to the required work and have the
correct information in each of their projects. To help my students learn the information we will
do WebQuests I have provided for them, watch educational videos on YouTube, listen and make
podcasts about phys. Ed., make posters using PowerPoint, and also make and read blogs
concerning sport, exercise, and it’s benefits. Students will also be required to present their
posters to the class and explain the information on the poster.
A- Students will search the Web concerning the information from the WebQuests about the
history of their favorite sports team and the importance of eating disorders. By the end of the
day I require all of the WebQuests completed and turned in. Students should use the software
provided for them to make podcasts concerning the importance of physical education. They
should also be able to sign into Google and make a blog about how they feel about Phys. Ed.
After they have completed this, I will show a video about the proper way to perform a bench
press which will allow them to know how perform the bench press properly. After they watch
2. the video students should make a simple poster concerning anything about physical
education.
S- By the end of the day I require 80%-100% of my students to have completed the
WebQuests, podcast, blogs and have created their posters. They should have learned new
information about the subjects we have covered including the importance of eating disorders
and the history of their favorite sports team. I will review the questions they answered to see
how accurately they answered them. They will have learned they proper way to bench press,
learned how others feel about Phys. Ed. by reading the blogs, and listen to opinions using
podcasts. The posters will give students new information about how students feel about Phys.
Ed. and have learned a tool to use.
S- Students will use a printed out sheet I have provided directing them to the certain
Websites so they can get the information they need to get the information. The second
WebQuest is provided for them online, called zunal.com. The one that is printed concerns the
importance of eating disorders and the WebQuest on zunal.com concerns the history of their
favorite sports team. The Website They must use for the blog is google, the podcast software
is provided for them on the computer. The posters they create can be anything about Phys.
Ed. and a couple facts on it the subject they chose. It must be created on PowerPoint.
YouTube videos can allow students to actually see how to exercise properly.
U- At the beginning of class students will be given the printed out sheet instructing them on
how to get the information about eating disorders. I will instruct them on how to get to the
WebQuest on zunal.com. Students can receive new information they didn’t already know
about the history of their favorite sports teams. This can give them a new insight about how
3. maybe the team was started and the importance it had for the sport. The eating disorder
WebQuest can allow students to receive important information on the deadliness of eating
disorders and how not to develop one. Blogs allow the students to see how others feel about
Phys. Ed. and give their own opinions about the subject. Podcasts are just a fun and different
way to allow students to speak about the subject. PowerPoint can allow students to show
everyone their subject they want to speak about and give them a new tool to use to make
posters.
R- At the end of class, I will grade the WebQuests which will allow me to see what
information the students retained. I will listen to each podcast, look at each poster, read each
blog, and see how they performed.
E- I will allow them to revise the WebQuest questions that they have missed, see how they
felt about Phys. Ed. from podcasts and blogs, and see how well they did on the posters. . I
require 80%-100% accuracy concerning the questions I asked them and give 100% effort on
each activity.
