different physical or chemical
properties that, when combined, produce a
material with characteristics different from
the individual components.
Wood is a natural
composite of cellulose
fibers in a lignin matrix.
Engineered wood is wood
fibers, strands or veneers
bound using adhesives.
Concrete is a composite of
aggregate, cement,
additives and water.
