9. 7. WHAT IS THE ACTIVE DIRECTORY?
Active Directory (AD) is a directory service
that connects users to the network
resources they require to complete tasks.
The database (or directory) is essentially a
location where you store information about
your environment, such as which users and
computers you have and who has access to
what. Administrators can use the Active
Directory service to control user access to
network resources and manage
permissions. Active Directory data is stored
in the form of objects such as users, groups,
applications, and devices. These objects are
classified based on their names and
characteristics.

DC (Domain controller): A domain controller (DC) is a server in a Windows Server

is a Global Catalog (GC) that manages all five FSMO functions: PDC Emulator, RID
Master, Infrastructure Master, Schema Master, and Domain Name Master.

AND SERVER OS
Desktop (Client) OS
1 . It is a type of operating system that

Server OS
1 . A server operating system is one that

features and capabilities to multiple
connected devices or client machines.
3 . Multiple clients can be served
simultaneously.
4. It has a higher processing power, is
more stable, and is highly efficient.
Examples: Linux, Red Hat, etc.

(BSOD)?
