 SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, is an Internet security protocol that uses encryption. It was
first developed by Netscape in 1995 for the purpose of ensuring privacy, authentication,
and data integrity in Internet communications. SSL is the forerunner to today's modern
TLS encryption.
 SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is less secured as compared toTLS(Transport Layer Security).
 An SSL certificate is a piece of code on your web server that provides online
communication security.
 SSL is a standard security technology that establishes an encrypted link between a server
and a client—typically, a web server (website) and a browser, or a mail server and a mail
client (e.g., Outlook).

particular the padlock icon that appears in web browsers when a secure session is
established.

1999. is an improved version of SSL.
 It is Implicit Connection
 Three versions ofTLS have been released
(TLS 1.0,1.1,1.2,1.3).
