2. What is trust relationship in active directory ?
A relationship between two domains that
allows users to authenticate from one
domain to another in order to access
domain resources.
Access to resources can be one-way or two-
way through trust relationships. A one-way
trust is a one-way authentication path
established between two domains. Users in
Domain A can access resources in Domain
B through a one-way trust between Domain
A and Domain B.

3. Nature of Trust Relationship in Active Directory.
Transitive trust relationship
• In a Microsoft Active Directory
forest, transitive trust is a two-way
relationship that is automatically
established between parent and child
domains. When a new domain is
created, it automatically shares
resources with its parent domain,
allowing an authenticated user to
access resources in both the child and
parent domains.
Non transitive trust in active
directory
• A non-transitive trust is one that does
not extend beyond the domains with
which it was created. The following
would happen if domain A was
connected to domain B and domain B
was connected to domain C via non-
transitive trusts. Domain A and
domain B would be able to
communicate with one another.
Domain B has access to Domain C.
