The Story "The Outcast of Poker Flat" written by Brett Harte, is a story in which was set in the 1800's where technology was unrecognized. The
insertion of one piece of modern technology consequently would have changed the story in dramatic ways. Nevertheless the story of four
troublemakers in which were banned from the town of Poker Flat due to their bad habits. Mother Shipton who was a madam along with her Duchess
were banned for being moderate, a thief and a gambler joined the women later on. The group of troublemakers decided to sleep in a cabin by the
mountains overnight, following next morning they wake up to find Billy, consequently known for being a thief, stole their horses as well as a majority
of the group's supplies. Billy before long ends up dying along with the horses as they were trapped in the blizzard. Mother Shipton, the Dutchess, along

were also party guides for Becca and I's first but super awesome Chiefs Kingdome experience. Becca and her friends have enjoyed several concerts
since then and my sister Kristie and I lived it up at Country Stampede. Checking one off her wish list while adding to our priceless sister memories.

Shrdlu slaughters his mother with a carving knife. Outwardly, this murderer lacks any justification or reason to kill. He is admonished by society. His
peers find him irredeemable and sentence him to death. Even Shrdlu himself believes that he is doomed to suffer the scorching flames of hell. Despite
committing matricide, Shrdlu is a proper gentleman. He treats strangers with consideration, sharing both cigarettes and wisdom. He is prepared to
accept any punishment and is desperate to reconcile with his deceased mother. By numerous measures, Shrdlu is more mindful, more compassionate,
and more human than any other character depicted in The Adding Machine. In truth, he is a victim of circumstance, imprisoned and forced to commit an
act of violence. As an expressionist character allegory, Shrdlu embodies the natural and virtuous condition of the human spirit; he endeavors
unconsciously to free himself from subjugation.
Shrdlu endures a grueling condition of slavery. He lives inseparable from his mother, proofreading "shoe catalogs for thirteen years" (Rice, 76) during
his adult life. Remembering his mother, Shrdlu recalls that "she taught me to be thrifty, to be devout, to be unselfish, to shun evil companions, and to

Mothers, we all have one and the issues that go with them. A mother's influence can be one of the greatest during a child's life. The influence can
reach the man who lays dying on the battlefield crying out for his mother. What is it about my mother that would make me call out to her as I lay on
the battlefield taking my last breath? My mother's personality is one that can go from one extreme to the other; sometimes in the same breath. I can
describe her physically in her present moment but it seems no matter how much she has changed or aged through the years, she remains in the
present for my past memories. She is of average short height with, mostly greying, short black hair. Mom is heavy and has fought her weight for as
long as I can remember. Her smile can make you "just know everything is going to be ok." On the other hand, her scowl ("that look") can and will
make you go above and beyond her demand. Her physical traits would be described as the typical mom but her personality is anything but. Growing
up, my mother was a stressed out, a mostly single mother who worked three jobs and was temporarily on food stamps (the old–fashioned paper kind). I
