Hillside Creative Writing
The sun appears to be painted on the background of a mountain. Auburn red melts into coral colors
which is met by a light blue. The fresh snow is layered out over the towering mountains and the
glistening snow reflects the brilliant colors. Gentle flurries swirl around, but this is met by a choir of
cheers. There is a disruption in the peacefulness of the one undisturbed land. Whoops and hollers
break out over the tranquil area. The mountain climbers have done it. They have finally reached
their goal of climbing to the top of an undiscovered mountain. It took them over a year to prepare
for and five days to climb. This is like our middle school experience. It took a long while of
preparation and working towards to reach this point today, but we have done it. I am proud to stand
before you all and say we are about to graduate. We have reached the summit of the mountain, and
from where we stand now it's clear skies from here.
The first day of Brookside. The concept sounded foreign, for it seemed like yesterday a lot of us

Now we are standing at the top proudly, our feet are planted firmly in the fresh snow. This is a new

Boston Bombing Research Paper
The Evil of the Boston Bombing
A well–known sense of community for the United States is the annual Boston Marathon. April 15th
2013 the city of Boston prepared for its race, but there was no way that it could have prepared for
the tragic events which would rattle the entire country. Two pressure cooker bombs were detonated
at 2:49 pm near the finish line amongst hundreds of spectators and athletes. The attacks resulted in
six losses of life and over two hundred fifty injuries. Many questioned who the evil mastermind was
behind this harrowing attack since it was the first terror attack on US soil since nine eleven. The two
responsible for the slaughter are Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The term evil is often used to
describe one who commits an outrageous and morally corrupt act, ... Show more content on

The Tsarnaev brothers immigrated from Kyrgyzstan in two thousand two. The brothers always had a
close relationship, but no one realized how detrimental their closeness would be. Tamerlan obtained
the radical Islamic ideology, which he used to brainwash his younger brother Dzhokhar, thus leading
to his pleas of falling victim to Stockholm syndrome in the trials following the bombings. Tamerlan
used the technique of breaking down the target into "a category, a class, not the human beings, and it
is easy to exterminate a category, a class, a race, an alien tribe"(Morrow). Dzhokhar was taught to
associate these people with the wrong religion and then further broke it down into a faceless and
nameless category. However, as stated by Rollo Romig, "Evil requires agency". This means that the
evil of Dzhokhar was more or less aided in development by his brother. Nonetheless, Dzhokhar
Tsarnaev's actions were heinous, but his motives were skewed into believing he was helping his
brother achieve something greater, thus proving he was of corrupt mind to which one cannot classify
him as

My Trip To Disney World In Orlando, Florida
Briskly walking to ride Space Mountain as Disney World opened for the day, I realized that Disney
was my favorite place to visit and my dream vacation spot. My fascination for Disney began when I
was young and helped plan my family's vacation. Experiencing new rides, themed meals, and
breathtaking shows make a trip to Disney a magical experience and unique from other destinations.
Therefore, if I was given a ticket to travel anywhere in the world, I would choose to visit Disney
World in Orlando, Florida. Planning several months in advance is necessary in order to experience
numerous attractions while at Disney. My interest in planning Disney trips was enhanced by
watching YouTube videos of rides and by reading descriptions of the attractions ... Show more

Several attractions including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Splash Mountain would occupy my
time as I entered the park. Following those attractions, I would use the Fastpass reservations that I
had reserved for my favorite rides. Afterward, I would immerse myself with Belle and the Beast and
feast on a delectable lunch inside the his elegant castle at Be Our Guest restaurant. With a belly full
of French food, I would continue to tour the park and ride some of my favorite classic attractions
like Peter Pan's Flight and It's A Small World. After several more rides, I would walk to
Adventureland and get my favorite dessert, a Dole Whip Float, which is an icy cold mouth–watering
treat of creamy ice cream and tangy pineapple juice. As the park transitions to nighttime, I would
find a bench on Main Street and watch the vibrant colors burst in the sky to my favorite Disney
tunes. The atmosphere on Main Street during the fireworks show makes Disney an unforgettable
experience and unlike anything else. At the conclusion of the fireworks, I would have to take a
picture in front of Cinderella's glistening castle. After a full day of Disney magic, I would return
home from Disney

Personal Narrative Essay: My First Trip To California
Imagine laying on a private beach right now in California. You're sitting in a comfortable lawn chair
with a front–row seat to the Pacific Ocean. You have waiters bringing you any kind of drink or food
you want, and the sun is making you golden tan. Now, imagine the thrill you get while being on a
roller coaster. The sun is beating down on you while you're standing in line, but the wait for the
exhilarating roller coaster is worth it. I got to experience all of this and more on my trip to Los
Angeles, California. I went on this trip the week of my birthday, which is July 31, with my parents
and my two sisters. My second trip to California was an unforgettable experience that was important
due to all of the locations I got to visit, all of the knowledge I now have from this trip, and all of the
memories I made with my family.

My dad made awful jokes that somehow made us laugh, and we were always in a good mood.
Another great memory we all made together was when we saw Arnold Schwarzenegger in our hotel.
He was staying in the same hotel, and we saw him more than once during that week. We also found
out Law and Order: SVU was filming there season premiere in a part of the hotel. California is
definitely my family's home away from home, and we experience so many great things when we
visit there. My second trip to California was an unforgettable experience that was important due to
all of the locations I got to visit, all of the knowledge I now have from this trip, and all of the
memories I made with my family. I think everyone should try their hardest to go on a trip with their
family because it is such a contrast to small–town Iowa, and you get so many bonding and learning
opportunities. Now you can go back to imagining sitting on that beach and riding that rollercoaster,
and wishing you were there right

The Yellow Ribbon By Pete Hamill
Memories can last a life time, so we tend to only remember the extraordinary ones. Extraordinary
like the essay "The Yellow Ribbon" by Pete Hamill, in which he talks about how a person named
Vingo, was riding on a, bus recently released from jail, to this oak tree explaining to some
passengers that he had told his wife to leave him if she wanted, since he went to jail or to go to this
oak tree and tie a yellow ribbon around it to see if she wants him to stick around and he will go and
check it out. In the end, he saw hundreds of ribbons tied on to the tree. Not only is this an amazing
story, but also very unforgettable one as well, because he finds out that after four years in jail his
wife has enough love for him to go to this tree and tie hundreds of ribbons just to show the type of
love the women had for Vingo. I have to say that, I believe this story is truly unforgettable, but I also
got a story that is very extraordinary, like the time that I got my very first car. Furthermore, I didn't
just get a car, I got the love of two truly loving parents. Much like Mr. Hamill and his story about
love I too have a love story that involves not my wife, but my parents. When I got to the age of
driving, and around the time to go to college I wasn't expecting any type of car of any sort because I
knew that my family just had enough money to get me into college. However, one week after I took
my driver's test and passed I was welcomed with a brand new 2015 Camaro. It was so

What Is The Theme Of Digging By Seamus Heaney
Seamus Heaney portrays his childhood as an unforgettable, fond, and special memory, which can be
seen in three different poems: "Digging", "Churning Day", and "Blackberry–Picking". His endless
expressions of affection towards childhood symbolises that it was influential and favourable time for
him.
Heaney expresses that childhood is unforgettable to him through the usage of regular activities.
People usually remember activities that influenced them the most. And regular activities, which
happen over a long period of time, are more influential, and thus are more memorable. In the poem
"Digging", his grandfather and father are farmers, constantly digging. Since they are farmers, they
are not digging only for the day, but they have been digging ... Show more content on

It is scientifically proven that people remember more clearly if their senses are involved. And most
of the activities involves many different senses, which are described by Heaney in a detail. There are
three senses involved in the poem "Digging". Heaney remembers the "clean, rasping sound" he
heard, "cool hardness" he touched, and "the cold smell of mould" he smelt. Moreover, senses are
described in more detail in the poem through the usage of similes such as in the poem "Churning
Day". In the poem, Heaney recalls the "stink" he smelt that was "acrid as sulphur mine" and "the
plash and gurgle of the sour–breathed milk" that he heard. Also in the poem "Blackberry–Picking",
Heaney uses similes to describe the sense of taste and the sense of smell. He describes twice to
reinforce the clarity of the memory. He mentions that "the flesh was sweet" that it tasted like
"thickened wine". Later in the poem, he refers to the sense of taste again that it was "sweet flesh
sour". Even the sense of smell was engaged. The blackberries were "stinking" and they "smelt of
rot". All those specific and detailed narration of senses point that so many senses were involved,
which make the memory distinguished from other memories and thus to be more memorable. And
the fact that Heaney describes the senses in detail proves that the memory is actually more

Allusions To Pandora In Today's Society
There are many allusions to Pandora in modern day life. In this report I will be writing about all of
the different ways Pandora is incorporated in todays society. Pandora was the first woman on earth
and she was created by Zeus as a punishment to Prometheus. Zeus gave Pandora and a box to
Epimetheus and told him not to open it. Pandora and Epimetheus lived a happy life together in a
world where no one grew old or sick. Later in life Pandora grew curious and she opened the box
releasing hate, jealousy, cruelty, anger, hunger, poverty, pain, sickness, old age, and death into the
world. With all of the horrible things, one good thing came out of the box, that thing was Hope.
Hope made it possible for humans to have a chance at happiness. The phrase "curiosity killed the
cat" refers to someone's downfall. In my opinion the phrase refers to the act of Pandora opening the
box. Pandora let her curiosity get the best of her which led to the downfall of not only her but the
entirety of the world. Since Pandora had opened the box she in a way "killed the cat" because she
had but the world in jeopardy. The story of "Frankenstein" also ... Show more content on

The company gave themselves that name because Pandora means "all gifted" in greek. In Greek
Mythology, Pandora received many gifts from the gods including the gift of music. Pandora was
also very curious and the company chose the name because they want their followers to follow their
curiosity and leap into the never–ending music possibilities that Pandora Radio has to offer. Pandora
Jewelry is another company that adopted their name after the Greek figure, Pandora. In Pandora
Jewelry's logo they have the words, "unforgettable moments" with the name Pandora above it. This
is alluding to how the moment when Pandora opened the box and how that was an unforgettable
moment. The design is also hinting at the fact that their jewelry is meant for other unforgettable
moments, i.e., engagements, special

Analysis Of The Book ' The 27 Club '
The 27 club. An infamous club that has taken away artists in the preimage of 27, whose members
include: Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison. But this club is known for
its musicians and not its poets. One of these poets is James Douglas "Jim" Morrison, lead singer and
songwriter for the rock band, The Doors. Morrison's poet life was hidden behind the facade of being
the king of an explosive form of rock. For fans who looked hard enough, Morrison truly was only
the poet who he strived to be, when writing his music. In between the arrests, women and substance
abuse, Morrison's poetry expressed his true feelings of loneliness and isolation. Morrison's life
experiences and poetry impacted his music greatly in the fact ... Show more content on

This is shown explicitly in Morrison's poem Dawn's Highway: "Indians scattered on dawn's
highway bleeding, ghosts crowd the young child's eggshell mind... a truckload of Indian workers
had either hit another car, or just– i don't know what had happened– But there were Indians scattered
all over the highway, bleeding to death (The Doors: The Complete Lyrics,186)." Poetry also became
a huge part of The Doors because of Morrison's always wishing to be a poet, instead of musician.
The name of the band came from a mix of Morrison's own quote and a quote of William Blake. Both
quotes speak of how life has many doors and that most are closed until the beginning of life or at the
end of life (The Unforgettable Fire). During his life no one could distinguish Morrison from his
musical persona or the poetic one, because of the inclusion of themes such as sadness, death and
isolation. Throughout Morrison's career, poetry proved to be his escape to a new world that only he
knew, to which his music shows when he speaks of his central themes(Wild Child). Nearly fifty
years after Morrison's death, The Doors are still wildly popular among younger rock audiences,
much like Pink Floyd and Nirvana. After the day Manzarek asked Morrison to form the Doors not
much happened until they started performing on the sunset strip club, Whiskey a Go Go and others
started to hear Morrison's haunting lyrics of abandonment and the end of life(The

My Hero's Journey-Personal Narrative
The day began with the sun rising above the trees and my surroundings becoming perceivable. Five
o'clock was about to strike the clock and leaves began to rustle as the wind blew. Jake Hall and I sat
in our ground stand, concentrating on any movement. The dreary cold morning had me crossing my
arms, trying to preserve any body heat I had left. The breeze in the morning helped nothing at all, as
it just muffled my ears and a burning sensation felt on my cheeks. Jake's dad, Dave, seemed to be
perched against a tree across from us just barely in sight. The day marked the beginning of
November, I could feel the stinging from the gelid morning, the motionless time, and the
epinephrine from the hunt pumping through my body. On this particular cold November day

to leave a doe had just ran out of the woods. Jake just sat there, but as soon as Dave had seen it off
we went. Before I knew it, we were directly beside the deer. Dave was talking, but over the sound of
the four–wheeler I couldn't understand what he had been screaming. As we became too fascinated
by the deer, when we glanced forward, there a ditch laid in front of us. Immediately he slammed on
the breaks, but the tires couldn't get traction on the wet ground. We slid right into the ditch and over
the handlebars we went. I laid on the ground, face down in the field. As I lifted my head, I could see
the blood oozing from my arm; a cornstalk had punctured through half of my arm. Suddenly I felt
Jake's dad's arms around me, lifting up swiftly. We all had raced back to the house, where he quickly
wrapped my arm up in gauze. Days after the accident, there were monstrous bruises from my
forearm up to my

Personal Narrative: Life In The United States
Writing is a miracle itself. Believing in miracles can make you a proponent of the second chance in
life. Following your dream is life long pursuit of one's purpose. Sometimes winds of destiny are
inflating your sails; sometimes you hit a rough spot in the ocean. The drawbacks are good chance
for reflection and readjusting. As a first generation immigrant I had the opportunity to witness
myself the land of Opportunities and experience the concept of an American dream first hand.
Deciding to come and live in the United States and leaving my whole family behind has been
hardiest decision that I have made in my life so far. The doubt that this doubts about that decision
has chasing me as a bad dream since the day I have arrived in the United States.

Comparing Thanksgiving and Christmas Essay
When I was younger, the two holidays I looked forward to were always Thanksgiving and
Christmas. This time of the year always is the happiest because everything feels so refreshing
because I am spending quality time with the people I love most. When it comes to Thanksgiving and
Christmas, I always seem to have the most memorable good and bad moments. These holidays have
very different meanings but have the same feeling because it symbolizes, good food, good times

much. When my family comes together it is always really interesting because something always

wants to miss grandma's award winning food. My grandmother has won several cooking contest
when she lived in the bay area. When the family comes around for Christmas, it is unforgettable
because it does not happen all the time. The negative part about the whole family getting together is
that there is always some type of drama. When the family gets together, there is always a fight of
some kind because something is said to make someone mad. For some, this can be a stressful time
but for others it is mere entertainment because the fights are over the stupidest things. When family

Runaway bay. A town filled with deep rooted culture on an island filled with welcoming natives.
The pleasant vibes of reggae music and Rastafarian culture flow from the hills to the sandy shores.
This island rich with tropical fruits and spices is located in the heart of the Greater Antilles. History
tells that the enslaved island once known to its natives as "Xaymeca", has come a long way in
becoming the independent nation known today as Jamaica. In the Sea of many islands known as the
West Indies, Jamaica stands peaceful, welcoming tourist and expanding rapidly. From an early age

His growing style encompassed every aspect in the rise of Jamaican music, from ska to
contemporary reggae. Marley's lyrics lifted spirits and united nations. Robert Nesta Marley is put on
a higher thresh hold that any before him, he stands on the podium as the greatest musician in this
century. Through reggae Marley lives on influencing many well known bands today. Marley sang of
love and above all else "Jah" a god in one of the many religions worshiped in Jamaica. The religion
most commonly associated with Jamaican culture is Rastafarianism. This group of free spirited
natives known as the Rastafarian's belive in the spiritual use of marijuana, known to this island as
"Ganja". They speak Patios, pronounced (pa–twaa), an extreme Jamaican slang of the English
language. Rastafarians live off the land and worship freely in the green mountains of the inner
island. From an economic stand point Jamaica is generally a poor country with an average family
income of 2,000 dollars a year. As a result Jamaican people rely heavily on the precious U.S. dollar
brought in through tourism. Jamaica's number one source for trade is Bauxite. The mineral rock
Bauxite is rich within the rocky coast of the island. Although the overall status of Jamaican society
remains poor, the abundant source of fish, fruits, and spices keep the natives well fed. Curry goat
and Akki (saltfish/eggs) fill the bellies of Jamaicans everyday. Among my favorites are jerk pork

The Pyramids Are Harmonious Analysis
Have you ever seen a work of art is so breathtaking? Isaacson claim is that the Pyramid of Giza are
unforgettable works of art. One reason Isaacson believes his claim is because of the way the
pyramids catch light and change our emotions. Another reason that shows that the pyramids are
unforgettable works of art is that they have Harmony.
First of all, Isaacson believes that the pyramids of Giza are Harmonious. In the text the author states,
" The pyramids are harmonious because limestone, a warm, quiet material, is a cordial companion
for a simple, logical, pleasing shape. In fact, the stone and the shape are so comfortable with each

One way the pyramids are harmonious is how the sun reflects on the pyramid and makes the
pyramids look different. In the text the author states, "As the sun moves above the desert, the
pyramids seem to change. As they do, our feelings about them also change." This quote explains
how the sun moves to change how it looks and how the sun reflects on it. A second reason why the
pyramids are harmonious is because they change our feelings for them. In the text the author states,
"In the early morning they sit squarely on the horizon, and we feel that they have become the kings
for which they were named; by midday they have become restless and change into silver–white
clouds; and at dusk they settle down and regain their power." This quote explains that during certain
times in the day the pyramids make us have different feelings for them. A third reason why the
pyramids are harmonious is because of their shape and form. In the text the author states, "The
pyramids will always work their magic on us. Their forms, so simple and reasonable, and their great
size lift us high above the ordinary moments in our lives." This quote explains that the pyramids are

Personal Narrative: Downtown
Four days, three days, two days, it's tomorrow. Although I have been counting down to this date, it is
ludicrous how fast the days have gone. As I make my way to the venue I look out the window of the
car and think to myself how much I am going to enjoy this night. It is the sight of an exaggerated
amount of teenage angst immaculately aligned outside in the freezing cold.
The streets are loud, the atmosphere is exciting, the wind is so cold that it feels like it is cutting into
my skin. We are walking towards a lengthy line of people that gathered here tonight to sing their
lungs out, dance until their feet hurt and make memories.
Downtown is usually busy, but tonight it feels different. The enormous amount of cars making the
air smell like pure gasoline, people wandering down the streets asking strangers for a dollar, piles of
trash left by people who spent the night on the streets to get a closer glimpse of their favorite band
tonight. Hundreds of people are here tonight, waiting for a moment that they hope will be
unforgettable.
The doors open and suddenly everything is loud, I can hear the murmurs getting louder until I can
actually hear every word everyone is saying. Everyone is anxious, I can see smiles growing on
people's faces, my skin is tingling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

brings people together no matter what their age, race or beliefs are, it creates a safe heaven for
everyone in the room, forgetting about the bills they have to pay, or that phone call they need to

My Freshmen Transition Into High School
During my freshmen orientation I was introduced to Link Crew, a club which focuses on helping
freshmen transition into high school. After experiencing this, I decided that I wanted to impact the
lives of other students in a positive manner. I jumped at the first opportunity to make a difference by
joining the summer Link Crew program the summer after my freshman year. Ever since, I have
enjoyed working throughout school in order to ensure that everyone, particularly freshmen, feel
comfortable on campus. The most significant experience I had during my three years of participating
in the club was during the summer before my senior year. My partner and I were assigned a group of

The Most Unforgettable Moment Essay
Sitting in the classroom, I was irritated by the unbearably hot and humid air, and silently waiting for
the essays we wrote to return to us. The teacher stood at the front of the classroom. She called my
name, saying, "Your writing is good, but the story doesn't have enough depth."
Stating someone's writing is good is the usual rhetoric my teacher used before she tries to make the
student feel bad. She had been teaching the same subject for at least twenty–five years, and she was
known to students for never missing any opportunities to point out students mistakes in front of the
class. I remember the essay title was "The Most Unforgettable Moment." The story I wrote is
roughly about one day when I was walking on the street, and I saw a homeless person begging for
food. My heart ached for the poor homeless stranger. The only thing he was wearing was a worn out,
ripped blue cotton trousers. I gave him two coins I had in my pocket. He looked up at me and
smiled, he said, "It's a nice day today."
I was moved by how he was enjoying the warmth of the sun, but I was stressed out, hurrying
walking to next destination without noticing how wonderful the day was. But according to my
teacher's template, a homeless person shall always tell the author how grateful he is. And I as an
author should express how thankful I am to my parents for providing a carefree environment. I
didn't really know why the homeless person didn't say thank you, instead he commented on the
weather. For me, I

Music Is Unforgettable That Important In My Life
The music is unforgettable that important in my life
Music is love, love is music. Love is very strong emotional feelings and reactions and is the most
complicated relationship of the human being. There is three music is unforgettable that important in
my life. They are music "Cherry Blossom" by Hacken Lee, "that's the way it is" by Celine Dion ,and
"A new day has come" by Celine Dion.
One music is important to me is "Cherry Blossom". Cherry blossom represents female beauty and
power. It is a symbol of the attractive looks of a woman and her power to command, It also acts as a
symbol of love, feminine emotion. I have known Jan since the childhood, we were living on the
same street. She became to be my girlfriend since she was 18 years old. We broke up because I was
so stupid that hurt her, Without Jan, I am so lonely, and her favorite music "cherry blossom" was
becoming to my favorite music that accompanied me to go through the lonely time. People said that
first love is not easy to forget. I agree with that, because evrytime I listen to the music "Cherry
blossom" , it reminds me my first lover,Jan.
The second muisc is important to me is "that's the way it is" by Celine Dion . Whenever love seems
impossible, this music always lifts me. After I broke up with Jan, I was regretted what I did to her,
so I go to the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Washington, DC. Every year in springtime. I just
hope I will meet Jan again. While I am aimlessly searching in the crowds, I hear

The Bombing Of The United States
The unforgettable dates in America's History are the days in which America was deliberately
attacked. On these dates American lives were lost – many women, children, and men died. These
dates are the only attacks America has ever had on her homeland. One of those unforgettable dates
was September 11, 2001, where terrorist groups attacked America's cities, a day in which America
realized that there was real evil in the World. Another date that will always be unforgettable is
December 7th 1941. On this date American lives were changed forever. America was attacked on
our shores for the first time in our History. Many asked who could ever dare attack America like
this, or who could ever find the courage to attack America like this way? This attack was not done
terrorist groups; this time a country deliberately did this attack. On December 7th 1941 Japan
decided to attack America. This attack meant war; this attack was the attack that woke the giant up.
The eyes were on America now, how would America respond, how would America take revenge?
Did this mean that America would be involved in another great war? America responded firmly,
America showed that the attack was a huge mistake for Japan. Yes, America lost many lives in this
surprise attack, but America would show their mighty strength. This is why December 7th 1941 is
an unforgettable date in America's history. A bright unforgettable Sunday morning, men were

Teenagers In The 1950's
The 1950s was the most influential decade in American history for many reasons including: the
beginning of the civil rights act, the new and trendy style, and much more advances in technology
and entertainment. Families were together and the young honored elders, teenagers respected
themselves as well as others, and the cheerful music played all throughout the 50s is what mostly
made this decade unforgettable. Not only that, but the lifestyles was much more functional than any
other decade in America because people were peaceful. In the 1950s, Americans valued true
fellowship with their friends and family. In the television show, The Adventures of Ozzie and
Harriet, David and Ricky, the two teenagers, always respected their elders. In many episodes
including: An Evening with Hamlet and Ozzie's Night Out, David and Ricky quote "yes ma'am" or
"sir." This is significant because it displays the respect and companionship people had in the 1950s.

Unforgettable Novels In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel...
The enabling looking glass that one can see into another's life through is one of the most impactful
connections that one can experience through literature. While the physical action of writing is
seemingly simple, the impact that such an action can make is what creates the human tragedies and
ever–popular love stories that have inspired readers throughout centuries. Among the many
instrumental aspects of creating an unforgettable novel, authors will often use characters, theme, and
plot to provoke a connection between readers and the novel. Fictional novels allow authors the
creative liberty to convey their desired authorial intent while leaving an impact on readers. While
fictional novels are not exact depictions of history, the time in which they are written often shape the
content within the novel. Many renaissances in writing arose from cultural tension, politics,
economy, and other significant factors, often shaping the content of a novel or the underlying
messages within. The author of The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne, presented an excellent
example of unforgettable literature due to the historical, social, and personal aspects of the novel.
Hawthorne explores the Puritan beliefs that consumed the 17th century by delving into the
emotional story of Hester Prynne, the first feminist icon in literature. Hawthorne follows Prynne's
story as she is led from the town prison with her infant daughter, Pearl, in her arms and the scarlet
letter "A" on her breast. A man

Hillside Creative Writing

  • 1. Hillside Creative Writing The sun appears to be painted on the background of a mountain. Auburn red melts into coral colors which is met by a light blue. The fresh snow is layered out over the towering mountains and the glistening snow reflects the brilliant colors. Gentle flurries swirl around, but this is met by a choir of cheers. There is a disruption in the peacefulness of the one undisturbed land. Whoops and hollers break out over the tranquil area. The mountain climbers have done it. They have finally reached their goal of climbing to the top of an undiscovered mountain. It took them over a year to prepare for and five days to climb. This is like our middle school experience. It took a long while of preparation and working towards to reach this point today, but we have done it. I am proud to stand before you all and say we are about to graduate. We have reached the summit of the mountain, and from where we stand now it's clear skies from here. The first day of Brookside. This is a new beginning. Now starts a new mountain. A new experience. A new expedition. I will always carry the memories we have made together. • 3. Boston Bombing Research Paper The Evil of the Boston Bombing A well–known sense of community for the United States is the annual Boston Marathon. April 15th 2013 the city of Boston prepared for its race, but there was no way that it could have prepared for the tragic events which would rattle the entire country. Two pressure cooker bombs were detonated at 2:49 pm near the finish line amongst hundreds of spectators and athletes. The attacks resulted in six losses of life and over two hundred fifty injuries. Many questioned who the evil mastermind was behind this harrowing attack since it was the first terror attack on US soil since nine eleven. The two responsible for the slaughter are Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The term evil is often used to describe one who commits an outrageous and morally corrupt act, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Tsarnaev brothers immigrated from Kyrgyzstan in two thousand two. The brothers always had a close relationship, but no one realized how detrimental their closeness would be. Tamerlan obtained the radical Islamic ideology, which he used to brainwash his younger brother Dzhokhar, thus leading to his pleas of falling victim to Stockholm syndrome in the trials following the bombings. Tamerlan used the technique of breaking down the target into "a category, a class, not the human beings, and it is easy to exterminate a category, a class, a race, an alien tribe"(Morrow). Dzhokhar was taught to associate these people with the wrong religion and then further broke it down into a faceless and nameless category. However, as stated by Rollo Romig, "Evil requires agency". This means that the evil of Dzhokhar was more or less aided in development by his brother. Nonetheless, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's actions were heinous, but his motives were skewed into believing he was helping his brother achieve something greater, thus proving he was of corrupt mind to which one cannot classify him as ... • 5. My Trip To Disney World In Orlando, Florida Briskly walking to ride Space Mountain as Disney World opened for the day, I realized that Disney was my favorite place to visit and my dream vacation spot. My fascination for Disney began when I was young and helped plan my family's vacation. Experiencing new rides, themed meals, and breathtaking shows make a trip to Disney a magical experience and unique from other destinations. Therefore, if I was given a ticket to travel anywhere in the world, I would choose to visit Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Planning several months in advance is necessary in order to experience numerous attractions while at Disney. My interest in planning Disney trips was enhanced by watching YouTube videos of rides and by reading descriptions of the attractions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several attractions including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Splash Mountain would occupy my time as I entered the park. Following those attractions, I would use the Fastpass reservations that I had reserved for my favorite rides. Afterward, I would immerse myself with Belle and the Beast and feast on a delectable lunch inside the his elegant castle at Be Our Guest restaurant. With a belly full of French food, I would continue to tour the park and ride some of my favorite classic attractions like Peter Pan's Flight and It's A Small World. After several more rides, I would walk to Adventureland and get my favorite dessert, a Dole Whip Float, which is an icy cold mouth–watering treat of creamy ice cream and tangy pineapple juice. As the park transitions to nighttime, I would find a bench on Main Street and watch the vibrant colors burst in the sky to my favorite Disney tunes. The atmosphere on Main Street during the fireworks show makes Disney an unforgettable experience and unlike anything else. At the conclusion of the fireworks, I would have to take a picture in front of Cinderella's glistening castle. After a full day of Disney magic, I would return home from Disney ... You're sitting in a comfortable lawn chair with a front–row seat to the Pacific Ocean. You have waiters bringing you any kind of drink or food you want, and the sun is making you golden tan. Now, imagine the thrill you get while being on a roller coaster. The sun is beating down on you while you're standing in line, but the wait for the exhilarating roller coaster is worth it. I got to experience all of this and more on my trip to Los Angeles, California. I went on this trip the week of my birthday, which is July 31, with my parents and my two sisters. My second trip to California was an unforgettable experience that was important due to all of the locations I got to visit, all of the knowledge I now have from this trip, and all of the memories I made with my family. • 11. The Yellow Ribbon By Pete Hamill Memories can last a life time, so we tend to only remember the extraordinary ones. Extraordinary like the essay "The Yellow Ribbon" by Pete Hamill, in which he talks about how a person named Vingo, was riding on a, bus recently released from jail, to this oak tree explaining to some passengers that he had told his wife to leave him if she wanted, since he went to jail or to go to this oak tree and tie a yellow ribbon around it to see if she wants him to stick around and he will go and check it out. In the end, he saw hundreds of ribbons tied on to the tree. Not only is this an amazing story, but also very unforgettable one as well, because he finds out that after four years in jail his wife has enough love for him to go to this tree and tie hundreds of ribbons just to show the type of love the women had for Vingo. I have to say that, I believe this story is truly unforgettable, but I also got a story that is very extraordinary, like the time that I got my very first car. Furthermore, I didn't just get a car, I got the love of two truly loving parents. Much like Mr. Hamill and his story about love I too have a love story that involves not my wife, but my parents. When I got to the age of driving, and around the time to go to college I wasn't expecting any type of car of any sort because I knew that my family just had enough money to get me into college. However, one week after I took my driver's test and passed I was welcomed with a brand new 2015 Camaro. It was so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. What Is The Theme Of Digging By Seamus Heaney Seamus Heaney portrays his childhood as an unforgettable, fond, and special memory, which can be seen in three different poems: "Digging", "Churning Day", and "Blackberry–Picking". His endless expressions of affection towards childhood symbolises that it was influential and favourable time for him. Heaney expresses that childhood is unforgettable to him through the usage of regular activities. People usually remember activities that influenced them the most. And regular activities, which happen over a long period of time, are more influential, and thus are more memorable. In the poem "Digging", his grandfather and father are farmers, constantly digging. Since they are farmers, they are not digging only for the day, but they have been digging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is scientifically proven that people remember more clearly if their senses are involved. And most of the activities involves many different senses, which are described by Heaney in a detail. There are three senses involved in the poem "Digging". Heaney remembers the "clean, rasping sound" he heard, "cool hardness" he touched, and "the cold smell of mould" he smelt. Moreover, senses are described in more detail in the poem through the usage of similes such as in the poem "Churning Day". In the poem, Heaney recalls the "stink" he smelt that was "acrid as sulphur mine" and "the plash and gurgle of the sour–breathed milk" that he heard. Also in the poem "Blackberry–Picking", Heaney uses similes to describe the sense of taste and the sense of smell. He describes twice to reinforce the clarity of the memory. He mentions that "the flesh was sweet" that it tasted like "thickened wine". Later in the poem, he refers to the sense of taste again that it was "sweet flesh sour". Even the sense of smell was engaged. The blackberries were "stinking" and they "smelt of rot". All those specific and detailed narration of senses point that so many senses were involved, which make the memory distinguished from other memories and thus to be more memorable. And the fact that Heaney describes the senses in detail proves that the memory is actually more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Allusions To Pandora In Today's Society There are many allusions to Pandora in modern day life. In this report I will be writing about all of the different ways Pandora is incorporated in todays society. Pandora was the first woman on earth and she was created by Zeus as a punishment to Prometheus. Zeus gave Pandora and a box to Epimetheus and told him not to open it. Pandora and Epimetheus lived a happy life together in a world where no one grew old or sick. Later in life Pandora grew curious and she opened the box releasing hate, jealousy, cruelty, anger, hunger, poverty, pain, sickness, old age, and death into the world. With all of the horrible things, one good thing came out of the box, that thing was Hope. Hope made it possible for humans to have a chance at happiness. The phrase "curiosity killed the cat" refers to someone's downfall. In my opinion the phrase refers to the act of Pandora opening the box. Pandora let her curiosity get the best of her which led to the downfall of not only her but the entirety of the world. Since Pandora had opened the box she in a way "killed the cat" because she had but the world in jeopardy. The story of "Frankenstein" also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The company gave themselves that name because Pandora means "all gifted" in greek. In Greek Mythology, Pandora received many gifts from the gods including the gift of music. Pandora was also very curious and the company chose the name because they want their followers to follow their curiosity and leap into the never–ending music possibilities that Pandora Radio has to offer. Pandora Jewelry is another company that adopted their name after the Greek figure, Pandora. In Pandora Jewelry's logo they have the words, "unforgettable moments" with the name Pandora above it. This is alluding to how the moment when Pandora opened the box and how that was an unforgettable moment. The design is also hinting at the fact that their jewelry is meant for other unforgettable moments, i.e., engagements, special ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Analysis Of The Book ' The 27 Club ' The 27 club. An infamous club that has taken away artists in the preimage of 27, whose members include: Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison. But this club is known for its musicians and not its poets. One of these poets is James Douglas "Jim" Morrison, lead singer and songwriter for the rock band, The Doors. Morrison's poet life was hidden behind the facade of being the king of an explosive form of rock. For fans who looked hard enough, Morrison truly was only the poet who he strived to be, when writing his music. In between the arrests, women and substance abuse, Morrison's poetry expressed his true feelings of loneliness and isolation. Morrison's life experiences and poetry impacted his music greatly in the fact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is shown explicitly in Morrison's poem Dawn's Highway: "Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding, ghosts crowd the young child's eggshell mind... a truckload of Indian workers had either hit another car, or just– i don't know what had happened– But there were Indians scattered all over the highway, bleeding to death (The Doors: The Complete Lyrics,186)." Poetry also became a huge part of The Doors because of Morrison's always wishing to be a poet, instead of musician. The name of the band came from a mix of Morrison's own quote and a quote of William Blake. Both quotes speak of how life has many doors and that most are closed until the beginning of life or at the end of life (The Unforgettable Fire). During his life no one could distinguish Morrison from his musical persona or the poetic one, because of the inclusion of themes such as sadness, death and isolation. Throughout Morrison's career, poetry proved to be his escape to a new world that only he knew, to which his music shows when he speaks of his central themes(Wild Child). Mississippi State University Egg Bowl Essay Earlier this year, I was able to experience something I never dreamed I ever would– the 2015 Egg Bowl from suite level at Mississippi State University. Although I attended many games and my seating varied far across Davis Wade Stadium, I had never been to, what I considered, the most important game known as the Egg Bowl. As we left Davis Wade Stadium, there were many upset and cheerful fans from each team piling out of the stadium. As the Egg Bowl brought football season to an ending, I could not help but to be excited and anxious for next season. • 78. Unforgettable Novels In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel... The enabling looking glass that one can see into another's life through is one of the most impactful connections that one can experience through literature.
