1. Peru
A country divided into three types of landscapes with 21,462 different
species of fauna and flora. The average life expectancy of a Peruvian is
68.6yrs. Peru also contains 1 of the seven wonders of the world, Machu
Picchu.
Location & Climate
Peru is situated in South America with Colombia and Ecuador north, Brazil to
the east, Chile south and the Pacific ocean to the
west. Split into three by the Andes , coast, rain
forest and highlands. Peru has a total area of
1,285,220km2. The coast summer temperature is
from 25 to 35 degrees and winter climate is a bit
lower and cloudier. The highland (Serria)has half
the population living there with the day climate 20
to 25 degrees. At night its below freezing which is
in the dry season. In the wet seasons it rains in the
afternoon, but during the day it is 15 to 18 degrees.
In the rain forest (Selva) in summer its gets around
35 degrees and then in winter its just heavy rain. Peru has its highest peak
at 6,768m and it tropical forest is around 700,000km2 making Peru the
fourth largest area of tropical forest.
Geography & Population
Peru has a population of 29,546,963.Their official language is Spanish and
Quechua. There is a lake called Titicaca and
it forms part of the border between
Bolivia and Peru .It is 3,812m long. The
people who live in Peru are Spanish, Chinese,
Japanese, Italians and Germans. Their
president is Alan Garcia and the prime
minister is Javier Velaquez. Only 144 people
have a TV out of 1000 people and 18 people
have computers out of 1000. Peru has the
ancient Machu Picchu which was built by the Incas around the year 1400
(AD) . Machu Picchu is also know as The lost city of the Incas but, is now
just a famous attraction for tourists.
2. History & Culture
Having been overthrown by the Incas in the 15th century Peru was weak. In
1532 a man know as Franciscio Pizarro emerged and defeated the Incas
emperor. Then Peru got defeated by Chile and they only took the things they
wanted then fled. By the 19th century while South America was at war Peru
remain a stronghold. Then in 1980 there was a big surge in drugs. Between
1990-2000 the province recovered from the drug dealing. Peru's culture is
mixed with America and Spanish.
Peru is divided into three by the Andes. It is
situated in South America and has a large area of
land. Peru has the fourth largest area of tropical
rainforest and the national language spoken is
Spanish and Quecha.
