Location: Ashtead Village: The majority of the trailer will be filmed in Ashtead
Village’s high street; this is mainly for the ease of filming as our school is located
near the village and the cast can also travel to and from here fairly easily. This
image reveals the whole street and the general environment of the area. Usually
there aren’t a lot of people on the street, especially on weekdays whilst we will
be filming, which is even more convenient for filming in public.
The soap will open with a basic
introduction to the setting,
ranging from extreme close ups
and long distance shots of shops
and buildings from low angles to
create the dark environment and
tense setting of the scene. This is
a general shot of the high street
with the shops laying across
each side of the road.
The body of our filming will take
place on the right side of the
street as it offers us a wide
variety of scenery and the
necessary settings to include our
different themes. It is also easier
just to film from one side of the
street. A range of tracking shots
and panning will occur here to
follow the main character’s
story.
For example, this patch of
infertile land will be included
when filming a drug deal to
connote the poison and toxic
nature of the criminal act taking
place. The high brush allows for
the actors to hide, creating a
sense of mystery and unnerving
tension. This scene will involve
panning at an eye level to follow
the protagonist walking down.

Potential Hazards/Risks
Location specific -
Why?
There are only have a few potential hazards in Asthead
Village which are entirely environmetnally based; there is a
risk of recording people without their consent and there is
the danger of the oncoming cars on the road. As for filming in
The female protagonist will
continue walking down the right
hand of the street; from this
point onwards she will observe
an argumentative couple
walking out of a shop in front of
her; themes such as jealousy and
family or friend relationships
will be evident here. Here an OSS
will take place to imply conflict,
followed by a medium close up
of the woman walking away.
As she passes by the couple, her
eyes will match with an
anonymous man and she will
turn into the alley in the corner.
The antagonist represents
themes of violence, conflict and
crime. The camera will focus on
his eyes in an extreme close up
shot, which will switch between
an OSS. The camera must track
the man’s movements as he
confronts the woman.
Turning into the alleyway, there
will be another man or two
standing on the left, with a beer
bottle in hand. Again, the theme
of drugs is evident, however it is
more alcohol based. This may be
interpreted by the audience
however they may want. At the
end of the alley she will be
caught by the murderer, which
by then the trailer will blank. A
high angle shot will represent
the low status of the men, whilst
a tracking shot demonstrates
their fixation on the girl.

How will this be resolved? public, a permit to film in public places isn’t needed in terms
of the law, however, we sent a letter to the Council asking for
permission to film. To deal with the traffic on the road, our
team members will have to be extremely cautious when
filming to make sure that no accidents will happen.
