Meeting Notes
During our first meeting we have gone over our roles as directors and producers in
our Unit G324 group project. After brainstorming some general ideas for our soap
opera, we have chosen to include the many general themes and conventions from
the soap opera genre. This inspiration was taken from our observation of other
popular soap opera trailers, in particular the Coronation Street ‘Nowhere Left to
Run’ trailer and the EastEnders ‘Mother’s Day’ trailer.

Meeting Notes
We should aim to have the location based in a community environment such as a
school or some kind of ‘closed’ environment like other soap operas. We hope that
this will create a familiar environment that our audience can connect with. The
characters in the trailer should be teenagers as the as the plot will revolve around
teen drama. The plot should be exciting and should showcase some key issues that
will be coming up in the series to give the audience a taste for what’s to come. Some
ideas for the plot are fights amongst friends, relationship issues, and typical teenage
problems.
Actions from the meeting
ï‚· Need to think about a location that fits the criteria
ï‚· What specific issues we will showcase
ï‚· Character names, clothing, soap name

when we come back we will be completely up to date.

Meeting Notes
Tomorrow is the day of the filming for our trailer so we have discussed the outfits
each character in our trailer will need to wear that will be best suited to their role.
We have also said that we think that the best way of filming will be in chronological
order so that we can keep better track of what scenes we have filmed as well as the
shots will roughly be in order on the SD cards. We will be using multiple cameras to
film our trailer so it’s important that we be mindful of what shots are on what SD
card/camera on the day so we know where all of our footage will be.
Actions from the meeting

ï‚· Film in chronological order
