Living In New York City
New York City, the American dream's shining icon and the cultural mixing pot, was just a name I
knew when I was young. Nine years ago, I finally set foot in the fabled city when my family
immigrated to the United States. The gigantic airport, JFK International, spanned miles and its
terminals stood proudly over the jumbo jets below. That night, nausea from the plane's descension
and the entropic motions of my aunt's Jeep dissuaded me from seeing the outside world. I rested my
head on my mom's lap while imagining what the city was like. Just a few days ago, I lived in
ShenZhen. On the opposite side of the Hong Kong, ShenZhen shared much of its prosperity. Thus, I
believed that New York City is no different from where I lived. However, I wanted to see the
subway system that many other cities modeled after. I was also interested in learning the American
culture, such as religions and holidays. The concept of religion was alien to me, partly because most
people in China were atheists. I woke up early in the morning, eager to see the snow outside and all
the "foreign" novelties. In the kitchen, my aunt and cousin were making toast and took out glass
bottles of Snapple. After breakfast, I conversed with him in broken English. We had many common
interests, namely video games and biking. So adhering to those, I spent the next few days growing
accustomed to the new city. New York City, in its grand size, cannot be explored in a few days or
weeks. Its complexity, in spite of the

Vacationing In New York City
Vacationing in New York City can be a fun and exciting time, but the amount of the things to do
may seem overwhelming. By knowing what type of activity one would like to experience, it may be
easier and more enjoyable in making decision on to see and do. There are many different categories
of attractions in New York City, and most fall into that of Art, History, Architecture, and Leisure.
New York City boasts deep roots in the world of the Arts. The city is home to Broadway and the
New York City Ballet Company. Shows in both are performed each season and can be a memorable
event to go see. While prices are higher for these types of performances, one is able to witness the
culmination of handwork and talent come together to make a lovely show, and is well worth it. Art
galleries and art museums fill the city with all varieties of art. Some of the best places to view art
are: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Cloisters, and The Guggenheim Museum. The
Metropolitan Museum of Art, which holds art from all different cultures and eras, is one of the
largest art museums in the United States. The Cloisters in Upper Manhattan, holds the
Metropolitans's collection of Mid–evil art. The building itself is of mid–evil architecture and is
lovely to tour, as well as the gardens surrounding it. The Guggenheim Museum displays
impressionists and post– impressionist art, as well as modern and contemporary pieces. The unique
cylindrical shape of the building is a work of art itself and

In modern day society, New York City is known for its hustle, bustle and immense steel towers that
overshadow paved streets and crowded sidewalks. Moreover, when New York comes to mind green,
eco–friendly living is not the first thing most people think about. However, it is in New York's best
interest to change that viewpoint. Due to overpopulation and increase in public draw, New York has
taken its turn towards becoming a metropolitan waste land, and it is imperative that there be changes
made. For instance, eco–architecture is a big topic of discussion in modern day urban society, and it
should be taken into consideration when discussing the development towards a greener city such as
the Big Apple also known as New York City, New York. Consequently, eco–architectural changes
will advance the overall aesthetic to one of the most famous tourist attractions in the globe, as well
as improve its economic status and improve business. To begin with, today's population is very
interested in what is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It is crucial for a region with such high
customer traffic to be visually attractive to the visitors. Ross Donolow, owner of a eco architectural
building company, Thin Flats, stated in an interview "You're living in somethings that's very green
and sustainable, something that's saving energy, and something that looks aesthetically just
incredible." (Dowolow, 2011) Feedback such as this is not cause alone to go gung ho and tear down

New York City is always bustling, after all, it is known as the city that never sleeps. There are only a
few places that offers an escape. Ever since Governors Island have opened its doors for visitors, it
has been the escape. However, the Island needs to go through some changes to be a perfect
recreational area worthy for the people of New York.
History
To understand the Governors Island and fix its problems, we need to look at the history. It was
originally owned by the Lenape tribe and used as a fishing camp, the island was called Pagganck or
Nooten Eylandt, meaning Nut Island. This is because the island was home to many chestnut, oak,
and hickory trees. In 1637, a Representative from Holland purchased the island from the tribe. A

After several years under the US Coast Guard, the Island fell into disrepair, but the people of New
York saw its potential. In 2003, the People of New York bought 150 acres of Governors Island for
$1 dollar. The remaining 22 acres were declared Governors Island National Monument, which is
under the care and control of the National Park Service.
Current Construction Plans and Issues
Since Governor's Island was designed as a military base and closed off from the public for a very
long time, it was not suitable for visitors looking for recreation. The middle portion has a large open
ground space, but the high buildings complexes that surrounded the perimeter of the island blocked
it. The only recreational area is on the northern point of the island with the Fort Day monument.
The lack of transportation in the island is also an issue. Governor's Island has kept a pact "to keep
the Island as car–free as possible; that 's part of what makes the Island so unique!" To get to the
island, they have a ferry services from Manhattan and Brooklyn. Once within the island, the only
mode of transportation is bicycle. Since the island is only 2.2 miles long along the perimeter, these
two modes of transportation are enough, and it takes you away from any aspects of the busy New
York City.
Since the Island was transferred to the hands of the City of New York in 2003, Governors Island

The New York City Council
A bill is a proposed legislation that is brought to a legislative body. In the case of the New York City
Council, the bill is introduced into the Council at a Stated Meeting and becomes a law after an
intricate voting or vetoing process with the Council and the Mayor of New York City ("Legislative
Process"). In the last year, many bills were passed by the New York City Council. While browsing
through the list of bills passed in the last year, a bill in particular stood out to me – "Reducing city
government emission of greenhouse gases by 40 percent by 2030," as it is a bill that proposes a way
to tackle climate change. The bill was dated to be on the agenda for October 15, 2015, and its co–
sponsors are Donovan J. Richards, Costa G. Constantinides, Margaret S. Chin, Mathieu Eugene,
Vincent J. Gentile, Corey D. Johnson, Peter A. Koo, Rosie Mendez, Annabel Palma, Deborah L.
Rose, Andrew Cohen, and Ydanis A. Rodriguez. It proposes for the city government to have at least
a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 ("The New York City Council").
Four months prior to the bill coming to the agenda of the New York City Council, Mayor Bill de
Blasio pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions in New York City. He presented new targets for
greenhouse gas emissions for New York City and "urged other cities to follow suit." Though he did
not directly mention the proposal of the bill to the City Council, he announced at the Vatican that
"the Big Apple was taking an interim step" by

What connects New York, Florida, Texas and California. They all vary in size and location, not to
mention they are far away from each other on a map. What connects them is their population,
they're the four most populated states in the U.S, in fact they're combined population exceeds over
80 million, but that begs a question. Why do so many people choose to live in those places? What is
so special about them? Perhaps this essay will enlighten you. Who doesn't love New York? Probably
know best for their Pizza it is the least populous of the four states above, but that doesn't mean it's
small. When People do think of New York the state , they think that it is the city New York, But not
everywhere in New York is like New York. The city New York is not the Capital of New York, But

Functionalism In New York City
New York City can be described as an infrastructural flux, a back–and–forth conflict between its
modern–day technological advancements and its architectural remnants. Its modern–day
infrastructure – a fusion that bridges together different eras of technological innovations – plays an
important role as a physical record, or contextualization, of how New York City developed into the
iconic metropolis it is today. Kate Ascher's The Works: Anatomy of a City uses the idea of
functionalism to explain the complexity and intrinsic design of New York City's infrastructure,
especially the function of streets as the foundation for the rest of the city's buildings and
infrastructure and protection for underground facilities, such as New York City's plumbing and
electrical systems, and the subway system. An inconspicuous, but crucial infrastructure that supports
everyday life in New York City is its simplistic, grid–pattern streets. Streets not only provide a clear
separation for pedestrian traffic, or sidewalks, and the rest of the city's traffic, or roads, but they
also, through the Grid Plan, create a systemized map of New York City. With each street and avenue
numbered or named, the distinction between streets allows traveling from one location to another to
not only be convenient, but also highly systemized to reduce confusion. For example, walking
northward, or in the direction of increasing street number, on University Place can take you directly
from NYU's campus to Union

New York City : My Experience In The New York City
Looking around, I had noticed diversity like I'd never seen before. I was in another world. Even
though New York City can be a dangerous place, I felt comfortable there. My view of Kansas is now
forever changed. On that trip, I discovered what I wanted to do during my adult life.
My back was sore from waiting in the stiff airport chair. I sat there gazing at all the travelers
moseying their way to a seat or hurrying to their gate. Just a few hours ago, I was at school, eating
lunch with my fifth–grade class. Then all of a sudden, my mom was there saying I had an
appointment she had forgot about. We shuffled across the tile floor to the office. I studied the orange
fish in the tank by the secretary's desk, waiting for my sister. When she arrived, my mom took out
her phone and held it up like she was going to take a picture. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. My
mom handed us each a tiny envelope with a list of things we needed to pack. My confusion quickly
transformed into delight when I read the bottom of the page. It said that we were leaving for New
York City that evening!
We drove home and packed our things, then headed to KCI. I tried my best to sit still and contain
my delight. After going through the maze of ropes, people, luggage, and metal scanners, our trip
was ready to start! Except it didn't.
After waiting in the airport for an hour, we boarded the plane. I peered out the window at the
enormous white wing of the plane, imagining how smooth it will fly through the sky to take me to
the Big Apple. But, that didn't happen as soon as I'd hoped. After sitting on the plane for an hour, we
were asked to go back inside the airport due to difficulties with the plane. "Will I ever get to New
York?" I thought as I slouched back into the uncomfortable chair.
My stomach trembled like an earthquake while growling because I hadn't eaten since lunch and all
of the restaurants in KCI were closed. I sat there in silence, disappointed, for an hour or so. I
thought they were going to cancel the flight and that I wasn't going to get to go. Just then, the
muffled voice of a flight attendant came through the speakers, telling us that the plane was ready.
Once back on the plane, the flight was quiet, and

New York City Essay
If you could visit any city in the world, where would you go? Most people love to travel and they
usually have a particular destination they want to visit. Learning new things about a city's history ,
and popular landmarks can make a trip to that city fun and educational. Another reason people travel
is to experience new cultures and try new things and even see new sceneries. New York City, New
York is one of the largest cities in America, it "stretches over approximately 300 square miles"
(Badertscher). New York City is known for its very large public parks and big industries such as
fashion, publishing and theater.
The twin tower terrorist attack really hurt New York's economy and they lost 10% business space. It
took many years to get the city cleaned and rebuilt. The attack was the worst thing the city had faced
and caused a very sad time "killing more than 2,700 people ("New"). New York City has a lot of
history, that history has formed New York City into a much better and stronger community. On
September 11, 2001 terrorist hijacked planes and hit the twin towers (Badertscher). When making a
trip to New York City there are many important places to visit and look at. "The Statue of Liberty is
located in New York Harbor and is shared with nearby New Jersey"(Badertscher). Taking a trip to
liberty island is very easy, there are boats that take you there and you can get a better look at the
statue of Liberty (Oreske). There are two stone lions that are very

The City : The Teens Of The New York City
The year is 2514 in New York City, now a place that looked like it was abandoned long ago. But it
was not abandoned, there were still citizens living inside its borders. The problem was the city ran
out of funds to support itself and the only money left was behind a vault in the city hall that had a
passcode none of the citizens knew. Behind it was tons of gold that could easily fix the problems of
the city and bring it back to what it once was. The passcode was the only detail keeping the old
ruined city from coming back to a thriving place with thousands of people living within it. The teens
of the city, now known as kidz, are part of a pact and have secret meetings every so often. Two of
these kidz, Joel a studious boy and Mike the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is the code we have been looking for!" "Are you sure Joel?" Mike responded. "Why else would
it be on the blueprint for the city hall that contained the vault if it wasn't the code?" Joel mentioned.
"That is a conclusive point, but if we want what is in the vault, we need to get to the vault." Mike
said. "Oh that, that is easy. All we have to do is sneak past the guards, find the vault, enter the code,
and claim the gold. Simple, right?" Joel asked. "Not quite, but it is a good plan." Mike responded.
Then, as Joel said, at exactly 12:00 a.m. they left their "house" and went into the darkest of alley
ways. They snuck very quietly to avoid detection from the guards. Both realized it was not too far to
reach City Hall. After about 30 minutes of traveling through the dark decrepit alleyway, they had
made it to the city hall. Silence was their priority to avoid being heard by the guards and being
BUSTED! When they heard a guard coming they quickly sprinted to hide behind a fallen book
shelf. As they hid behind the shelf, there was not a sound to be heard except the heavy footsteps of
the guard passed through, but fortunately they were not seen. Once the guards cleared, the two
snuck through the old worn down hallways five more times before finding a very odd book case in
an area that looked unordinary for one to be in. "Ok Mike, I think this is it. We only have one
chance though, so it better be it." Joel whispered. "Well if we only have one chance we must

New York City
Every time I hear this song it makes me long to leave all of my responsibilities and head off to the
city of dreams. A trip to New York has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have always
wanted to visit the place of tall buildings, history, and where culture is intertwined with its people. I
have wanted to live the fast pace life of a New Yorker, where I could stand outside and see, smell,
and taste all of the experiences that this city has to offer. I have been building and building this ideal

My husband thought this to be a bit corny, but not me. How exciting it was to hail my first ever cab
to the city. The taxi ride itself was long, but I was to busy to care, because I was taking in all of the
sites like a vacuum. The true moment of the taxi ride came to be once we entered the city of
Manhattan. The taxi driver was true to form by honking, speeding when allowed, and not caring if
we cut off anyone during our drive. The traffic from the airport to the city was a big jumbled mess. I
have never experienced traffic this bad before. I was so excited once our taxi man paid the toll to get
into Manhattan. Paying that toll was like gaining access to a secret society. The city, it people and
the buildings welcomed us with open arms.
The sounds of the city penetrated the walls of the cab as we drove through the streets of Manhattan.
I could hardly wait to partake in the action that was happening outside. The buildings themselves
were an amazing site to behold. The buildings took on personalities of their own. Each building was
bigger and more graceful than the next. When lights were added to the mix it was a dazzling
combination. The city itself felt like a great big hug, and I felt overwhelmed by its power. The city
allowed me to become part of it just like many others many years ago who immigrated to this
awesome city. As I was looking out of the cab I finally got to see in person the sight of all sights;

Sustainability In New York City
A modern city must take the initiative to not only look at the immediate problems, but also foresee
any problems that lie ahead. Mega cities must maintain the social, geographical, and environmental
aspects of a modern city. New York City is an ever–growing city that must adjust to the impending
complications that lie ahead. New York City has taken many initiatives in the twenty–first century to
try and improve the life of future New Yorkers. Mayor De Blasio has done a great job so far
enacting policies to ensure that New York City continues to be a global model for modern life in an
urban city. The conservation of the natural environment within an urban area can be an immediate
challenge for any megacity, but it is very important for sustainability. ... Show more content on

Upholding a sustainable global influence makes New York City an example of leadership in
international economics. If New York City was its own country, it would rank as the 15th largest
economy in the world. One of the most important aspects of an influence on the global economy is
the New York Stock Exchange. The New York Stock Exchange is seen as one of the most lucrative
securities exchange in the entire world. Monday through Friday the worlds largest companies take
part in the stock exchange in order to give the public an opportunity to hold and trade public
equities. The New York Stock exchange can influence the entire global economy through it's peaks
and troughs of successes and failures. It is no secret that the New York Stock Exchange has a large
influence over the world, but it also serves a huge purpose in the sustainability of New York City.
Domestic and international business is what allows New York City to thrive. The large flow of
money that goes in and out of the stock market has a butterfly effect on the economy of New York
City. Business in New York City maintains the subway and train system, funds projects such as the
preservation of infrastructure, and creates value in real estate in central districts. Another aspect of
maintaining a global influence is in the economic sector of tourism. Tourism is an easy way to
ensure that there is a cash flow that reaches to all areas of business.

The two most famous cities in United State. New York City and Los Angeles are two big cities
found within the United States of America. Very large and populous, the cities are found in different
states, New York City being in New York while Los Angeles being in California. They both attract
thousands of visitors in spite of being hugely crowded and costly to live in. While the cities have
some similarities and may be attractive to various people depending on their lifestyles and
preferences, New York City and Los Angeles are vastly different, especially in their climate,
housing, population, and transportation.
New York City's (NY) Climate significantly differs with that of Los Angeles (LA). Halle &
Beveridge (2013) note that in New York, the winter is glistening and frosty. As such, the atmosphere
is classic in the Yuletide season thus making it possible to engage in such activities as snow man
assembling and ice skating. In contrast, Los Angeles has winters that are extremely mild and
summers that are leisurely and warm. In New York, the warmest temperatures are usually

In the north and south of the United States, there are many differences in culture. The weather, the
population, and the economy are a few. They both have the same language but are spoken in two
different accents. You can always tell the difference between the two.
New York City is in the northern part of the United States and is considered the city that never
sleeps. It is also known as "The Big Apple". People are walking the streets, eating at restaurants and
going to bars at all hours of the night. Tourist come to see the attractions and to go shopping. There
are many ways of transportation: train, bus, cab, car, or walking. Public transportation is twenty four
hours a day and seven days a week and is their main source of getting around town. Housing is
mostly apartments or condos that are for rent. Most people do not own their own homes or own a
vehicle, because they cannot afford it. The cost of living in New York City is more expensive than
most popular cities. The rent for a one bedroom apartment is around 3,000 an month. Childcare is
close to 2,000 an month. In order to maintain a comfortable lifestyle most New Yorkers make close
to 7,000 dollars a month. The population is 8,537,673 as of 2016 and as many as 800 languages
spoken there. People often keep to themselves and really have no time to get to know each other,

New York City : The City Of The World
Welcome to the capital of the world, the city that never sleeps and the place that I call home –– New
York City. Although there are many other cities across the United States, New York City has a
certain je ne sais quoi about it, that makes it seem better than the rest. Home to the Statue of Liberty,
Times Square, Central Park, the Empire State Building, and many other landmarks and attractions,
New York City is a tourist's dream come true. Unfortunately, people like me, who have lived and
grown up here, tend to find the city and its attractions boring and not as appealing as they have all
been made out to be. Through "Here's My New York," E.B White explains that there are those who
are born here and take the city for granted, those who come into the city by day and leave by night,
and those who have migrated from different parts of the world in search for a better life.
I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, until my parents and I moved to the United States
on my sixth birthday. We spent the first two months, shacked up in my aunt's extremely small and
narrow one bedroom apartment in the Lower East Side. After that, my parents found an apartment in
the Bronx, about 5 blocks from the Bronx Zoo, that I still call home to this day. Growing up, my
parents were always working and never took me to any of the famous attractions around the city. As

TIt is not easy living in public housing and poor neighborhoods. There are a lot of struggles going
on in the streets. Things such as gang activity, carjacking, robberies and murder happens on a daily
basis. It is more common in the projects, it sure is rough living there. A Lot of people's goal is to
make it out, but not a lot of people make it out alive.
Living in public housing wasn't the best thing in the world. The projects in New York would have
poor living conditions like the elevators smelled like weed and people would have gotten stuck in
the elevator. You have to push the emergency 911 button and the firefighters will come. The stairs
are really dirty and filled with pee, it also smelled like weed. One time I actually saw poop on the
stairs from a human. The delivery people would get robbed all the time and at times stabbed or
killed. You would hear police sirens every single day and most of the time they were in the building.
My dad had gotten robbed before and my brother got shot. Gang members all hanged out downstairs
in front of the building, they sold drugs too. Everyone had food stamps to help them with their
lifestyle, you can use it in the supermarket or corner store.

Vincent Van Gogh and with his famous paintings of 'Starry Night' and 'Sunflowers' and some

On any given day in New York City, I will walk more than four miles, taking more than 10,000

path that trails across avenues and zigzags through city blocks throughout downtown Manhattan. I'd
imagine that if the soles of every New Yorker's shoes were dipped in red paint, we would paint the
town crimson with our intertwining footsteps.
Perhaps if urban planners, the masterminds of Manhattan, could gaze down at us from a skyscraper,
they would take offense at the patterns urbanites draw with their feet. Maybe the planners will sneer

parks. We jaywalk. The people of the city don't follow the blueprints of the urban planners. We
walkers know where we are going. We, "the ordinary practitioners of the city", live down "below the
thresholds at which visibility begins" (De Certeau, 93). We can see where we need to go, keep the
image of the city in the back of our minds to guide us, but since we dwell at ground–level, we will
never see the paths we take or the spaces we occupy in their totality. Lacking the ability see the
image of the city as a composite picture, New Yorkers experience only a fragment of it each day.
Lynch writes that "our perception of the city is not sustained, but rather partial, fragmentary, mixed
with other concerns" (Lynch, 2). I was born in Brooklyn, I moved to

Describe New York City
There are two main reasons I have applied to NYU. The first is because New York City is my
favorite place in the world. The first time I came to New York was with my mom. We had taken a
bus from Vermont to Massachusetts and then into New York. The bus ride was long and
uncomfortable, but I was as bouncy and ecstatic. When I stepped out of the Port Authority Bus
Terminal and on to 8th Avenue, there was only one word that could accurately describe the feeling;
home. Even though I was only able to be in the city for seventeen hours, every minute felt like a
lifetime. My mom and I spent most of the day in the Theatre District, except for a quick trip uptown
to the Hamilton Grange National Memorial. It was uptown that I figured out there was nowhere

New York City
New York City was the center for the transporting goods in and out of the city. Businesses were on
the rise as well for the working class but it that slowly declined due to the war and destruction of
slave plantations. Following this destruction, New York became America's metropolis following in
the footsteps of London and Paris. Later, the Political powers that be became involved to control
commerce and the classification of workers. There was a classification of jobs distinguishing the
middle class from the lower–class artisans. They were made up small master, masters, journeymen
and apprentices also known as artisans. Craftsman who were referred to as the working–class elite
which was a prestigious job to secure. Clerks and unskilled workers were male's workers and
domestic servants were mainly women. The Treaty of Ghent ended the war of 1812 which marked
the return of commerce. This allowed shipping to Britain to resume between Manhattan and Britain.
In addition, the Erie Canal enlarged the area of shipping in and out of New York. New York was
considered the 'business capital" with a growing population. It was a popular place for foreign
tourist and attracted immigrants. With the population increasing, New York wanted to expand their
industrial city to raise capital by adding more real estate such as mills and shops for the
everchanging city. Unfortunately, the obstacles faced were the excessive cost in real estate. Trading,

New York City
As a young, idealistic, and confused teen, I have a lot of dreams. These dreams are a bit scattered to
the winds at the moment, but I can pin down at least one of them: my dream to go to New York City.
Despite the fact that New York is many miles away, I still find myself wanting to go there. I don't
have family there, or anything easily nailed down like that. Instead, I want to go to that city for a
few touchy–feely reasons that can only be explained with a bit of personal context. It's a bit hard to
describe my dream (since it's more of a feeling then a concrete thing), but I'll try my best to break it
down into three tangible reasons. I could go on and on about all sorts of micro–reasons, but the main
reasons I want to go to NYC are because of the general attractions, the fashion, and the culture.
Well, to get it out of the way, the first reason I will talk about for going to New York City is because
of the general attractions the city has, as in landmarks and famous places. Unfortunately, describing
the interesting places of a city or town is a bland staple of any essay that focuses on a vacation
destination, including this one. With New York, the general attractions (although spectacular), are a
bit worn down. NYC's famous places have been heard about by everyone and have been in
everything, making the city a bit of a tourist trap. With all of those famous buildings, museums,
architecture, and landmarks, how could it not be? New York being a tourist trap isn't

New York City Transportation
Transportation New York City's water transport started to grow rapidly in the 19th century.
Steamboats gave quick, solid associations from New York Harbor to other Hudson River and
waterfront ports, and later neighborhood steam ships permitted suburbanites to live a long way from
their working environments. The finish in 1825 of the upstate Erie Canal, spreading over the
Hudson River and Lake Erie, made New York the most connected between Europe and America.
The Gowanus Canal and different works were worked to handle the growing traffic, all existing
shorelines were now fixed with docks. The Morris Canal and Delaware and Raritan Canal were

City In New York City
Every city has more than one story to tell, more than one face to show. In "Mexican Manifesto,"
Bolaño's narrator tells us that "[j]ust as the hidden face of other cities is in theatres, parks, docks,
beaches, labyrinths, churches, brothels, bars, cheap cinemas, old buildings, even supermarkets, the
hidden face of Mexico City could be found in the enormous web of public baths, legal, semi legal,
and clandestine." Likewise, the hidden face of New York City lies within parks, museums,
restaurants, etc. New York City is called "the City of Dreams", "city that never sleeps" and "the
Capital of the World", especially to the outsiders – the tourists. However, is that the city all about?
Not even close! People tend to look at the bigger and more obvious picture. No one takes the time to
analyze and thus, they end up missing out on the little facets which also have their own stories to
tell. One can only understand a city to the full extent if one knows the entire truth consisting of the
good and the bad as well as the essential and trivial factors. Out of the many places I have visited in
New York City, Central Park is one of my favorite places that brings me joy. I am one of the
millions of people who visit the park every year. I somehow always end up finding myself there.
Sometimes it was for picnic, sometimes it was to play Pokémon Go, and sometimes it was to just
take a break from all the chaos and relax. This park includes lakes, theaters, ice rinks, fountains,

Diversity In New York City
What does New York offer its inhabitants? New York is a state where most of its
Inhabitants are immigrants. In fact, The Huff Post states, "Over 37% of New York City residents
were born in another country..., A high record of 3.07 million foreign–born immigrants lives in New
York City". What New York City offers its inhabitants is quite unique from other places. It also
offers the ability to know about people from other countries, it's full of diversity. It offers endless
adventures to grow. Furthermore, it offers the feeling of being in a neighborhood where you feel like
home.
The idea of the diversity in New York it sounds strange to me at the first, I doubt it. At first, my idea
was mundane because I get used to watching just one side of the inhabitants, and it was the side of
the Hispanic people. After, going to BMCC everything changed. I started to see New York with new
eyes and I started to learn a lot about cultures, for example, the scarf that Muslim women wear,
which its name is hijab. Now, a quote who supports this is from the Garnette Cadogan eloquent
essay, "Immigrants are central to the allure of the city. It's a truism the city repeats endlessly to
itself: Immigrants provide a rich diversity and cosmopolitan flavor that awaken one's sense and
enliven one's sense of identity." This is the idea that I really feel empathy for him. It means that
immigrants are important to New York City because they represent the city. The incontrovertible
truth that New York

New York City Essay
There have always been numerous reasons for people to move. Whether it be a push factor, like war
or lack of religious freedom, or a pull factor, like job opportunities, people have some reason to
move. New York City, like many of the cities in growing America in the late 1800s, had been a huge
draw for masses of immigrants wanting to leave their countries due to major push factors like war
and famine (Dial). As cities grow, they always need people to fill jobs to help it grow, and with so
many people immigrating the structure of the city itself was changing. More factories were
established as New York City and New York in general was and is a major city for imports and
exports due to its location on the east coast of the United States. With more factories, came more
jobs that needed to be filled, and the immigrants coming into New York, mainly from European
countries, were a perfect fit as they had limited English and needed any job they could find, even if
it meant dealing with low wages and shoddy working conditions. Large companies like the Triangle
Shirtwaist Company were no stranger to understanding that industry played a major role in the
economic structure of New York City (Triangle Fire: One Hundred Years After). These companies
tended to take advantage of the immigrant workers they employed by not paying them very well,
and reducing cost to the owners by having minimal regulation and upkeep of safety protocol. These
loose regulations and lack of incentive

The City Of New York City
The aroma of food vendors, taxi cabs, and flowers molest the face of a person as they walk the
streets of New York City. The rush of a city can often be overwhelming. Even though that may be
true, 80.7 percent of the U.S. population lived in urban areas as of the 2010 Census. Living in New
York City is better than living in a Haysi. Living in a city offers many more conveniences,
opportunities, and more diversity. Living in a city offers many amenities and service that might very
well not be available in a rural area. New York City for example, has terrible traffic. A typical
commute of five miles can take between seven minutes and two hours in a car. One major advantage
to a city, NYC in particular, is their flawless public transportation system. Taking the subway, the
commute can be shortened to an average time of ten to fifteen minutes. Take out service is great as
well. Imagine it is two o'clock AM, if someone were to wake up hungry, they could call their local
takeout restaurant and more than likely, they would be open. Cities have so many grocers as well.
Not only do cities have more conveniences, but they also offer more opportunity. 8.406 million
Americans call New York City their home. Due to the large population, there is a large diversity.
Many different cultures often bring in new opportunity for work that might not have been thought of
in the past. Living in a large city such as NYC also means a larger, broader job market. More than

New York City is a magnificent place. The city contains hundreds of tall skyscrapers, many
interesting people, and plenty of entertaining activities. It is also one of the liveliest, and most
compact places in the world and has been nicknamed "The City That Never Sleeps." It has a rich
history and diversity. There are people from all different cultures and backgrounds. My family
decided to go on a vacation to see this amazing city. We decided that we were going to go and see
landmarks, eat new foods, and watch a play on Broadway. This memoir is about my trip to the Big
Apple. I woke up early in the morning to the loud sounds of luggage being dragged against the
hardwood floor downstairs. I quickly remembered with exhilaration that today was the day we were
leaving for New York! My family had been waiting for this day all summer. I jumped out of bed and
brought all of my stuff to the car. After we jammed all of our suitcases into the car we began our
eight–hour drive. I slept for most of the drive as we traveled north. Eventually, we got to Manhattan.
I was ready to finally get out of the car and stretch my legs. We found a parking garage and dropped
off our car. Then we checked into the hotel. We had to climb 26 floors of stairs to get to our hotel
room! Quickly we dropped of our stuff in the room and rushed out to explore the amazing city. First
we walked around Times Square and marveled at the beautiful skyscrapers and all the interesting

Hunger Of New York City
Hunger in New York City
Since the recession started in 2007, the national statistics of unemployment, low–income
households, and hunger have increased yearly. Even after the recession had ended in 2009 the
economic issues are still very prominent. Everything economically related to the health and welfare
of the vast majority of our American citizens, has sky rocketed in a very negative way. Students,
parents, children and families alike have, and continue to struggle with hunger on a day to day basis.
Our communities have become impoverished with food, expanding state to state with hunger and
even starvation. New York City, has become a haven of families struggling with the realities that
hunger can bring. How long can we live like this before somebody does anything about this?
The research on this matter has some astonishing numbers, NYC Hunger Exp. 2012: One City Two
Realities writes: "In 2012, almost three in four New York City households with children with annual
incomes of less than $25,000 (70 percent) had difficulty affording needed food. The percentage
having difficulty is up 30 percent from 2011 (54 percent), representing the biggest increase since the
start of the poll in 2003 and the biggest increase of any population group in this year's poll." Soon
after the recession, the numbers have still risen, and these recent statistics have proven the dramatic
need for help on an individual level for low–income families.
As the statistics grow, the median

New York City Narrative
People call New York City, the city of dreams, and I agree with them. I've lived in Queens, New
York for 11 years exactly. While I have lived there I have experienced the most exuberant time of
my life. I empathically think that New York is the place to be when you are feeling lethargic and
sluggish.
The bright lights are flashing, and Manhattan is glowing with life. There is the Empire State
Building that stands tall, and the Statue of Liberty is beautiful at night. New York had many places
for me to discover and each time it was an adventure. For example, every time on Christmas my
family went to see the big Christmas tree in the middle of Manhattan. About 1,000 people come to
see the tree, and it would be a miracle to not get lost. Even

New York City
Whenever we grow up, we have places that we want to move to. Sometimes, home is the place that
you want to be, but some other times it isn't. This decision can be based on many different things,
for example, having family nearby, opportunities, and the cost of living, which these two places are
very highly populated cities that are in two different countries, and both they speak English
differently. London and New York are these options because of the culture that they have, and also,
there are very opportunities there, and right now, New York City is looking more favorable because
it would be easier to get there. One of the main reasons that New York looks more promising, is
because of the culture and because you can do many things, even at night (Rosenbaum). Whenever
people talk about New York, we think of movies, a land of wonderful opportunities that could lead
into The American Dream. These opportunities are for everyone, not just people who are from the
city, even from people that come from absolutely nothing. This makes it one of the best wonderful
cities in the world, there's so much variety of skills that people have, because of the people that
come from different places in the world. Because of this, no one will feel alone in this city (Rashid).
There are millions of people walking down the streets, laughing, interacting, and since they know
that the chances of them seeing you again are very slim, they become very extrovert, especially the
people that are from around. This is good if you're trying to make friends, because you can meet a
lot of people and if you don't want to keep hanging out with them, you could just dismiss them or
keep in touch. One of the negatives that this city has is that some places are very dirty and smell bad
("Why is New York"). Because of the big amounts of people making trash in the streets and their
houses. But the trash accumulations happen because the budget of the city is very small for
sanitation. If people cared about it enough and protested to put more attention on the sanitation, then
the city would turn around and change some things, but it seems to not be a problem for New
Yorkers since this hasn't happened. For me, this wouldn't be a problem, since I was

Poverty In New York City
New York City is the largest city in the United States with a population of more than 8 million
people (NYC Planning, 2017). The city has been facing serious challenges since 2001, especially
with the recession in 2008. Tough problems ranging from poverty, increased immigration, high
crime, increase in drug activities, air and water pollution, and high population density, and so many
more. These are just some of the many problems that have threatened the quality of life for New
Yorkers. This paper seeks to examine three tough challenges; poverty, air and water pollution, and
population density, which have faced the city of New York as well as pointing some possible
solutions to these problems.
One of the toughest problems facing New York City is poverty; sources have revealed that more
than 45% percent of the population living in this city is struggling to make ends meet (Durkin,
2017). This problem has plunged the city into a dilemma as the nation struggles to wipe out poverty.
Since the recession in 2008, most of the adults in New York City are working on a full–time basis to
meet basic needs. The city has been strained with increasing price of rent, high standards of living,
and low wages. Even though employment has been rising, the number of individuals living in
poverty is startling. Income inequality has contributed to the poverty situation in New York City.
Poverty has transformed many neighborhoods into crime and drug dens. This problem has become
an uphill task to

If Turkey is on a bucket list, do not be surprised by the genuine kindness and hospitality that will be

this paper is going to focus closer on some major cities in the United States.
Gastronomy and Culture in the United States New York City is a huge city with a big name to
uphold. The population of 8 million, not including the tourists, has high expectations of a great
culture and food. New York is known for bringing recipes and cultures from all over the world and
then recreating them to make it their own. There is almost every kind of food you could think of
around New York, along with a certain place that specializes in that genre. The culture of NYC has a
diversity like no other. Almost half of the populating in NYC was not born in the United States.
There are over two hundred languages that are spoken in this city (Country, 2015). With all of this in
mind, combining all these different ethnicities and cultures makes for a cosmopolitan city unlike any
other. The most known attractions in NYC are Times Square, Central Park, and Broadway. All over
the world people are familiar with these sites. These are the things that makes NYC "the city that

New York City Analysis
When someone says New York, most people visualize tall, glimmering skyscrapers on grid–like
blocks, surrounded by buildings for business, filled with millions of working people, walking and
shuffling about, over the noise of yellow taxi cabs and MTA city buses driving down the urban
streets lined with stores and shops on every corner. Most people visualize this mass of land topped
with buildings, streets, cars, people, which at night, appear to be illuminated by specs of light from
the vastest array of shades of red, yellow, orange, and white light. Each spec of light could almost
represent each of the eight million people living in this city. Everyone is a different shade and color,
all different. Like the people residing in it, the neighborhoods of New York City are also all a
different shade and color. The image most people visualize when they hear the words "New York
City" is not similar to the many neighborhoods that inhabit this city. One of these particular
neighborhoods is the one I currently reside in, Ridgewood, which lies on the border of two of the
city's five unique boroughs, Queens and Brooklyn. The typical stereotypical visualized image of
New York City is not similar at all to this area. Ridgewood, although very different to, is more
similar to my childhood neighborhood compared to the commerce–heavy neighborhoods in
Manhattan. I come from the Philippines, a country with beautiful places of nature and abundant
resources, while also containing

What Is The New York City Intriversity In New York City?
The diversity in New York City intrigues me. New York City has millions of people of different
backgrounds, ethnicity, and culture. People can never feel overwhelmed with loneliness while living
in New York City. For example, while living in New York City many people have the opportunity to
visit China without traveling. Many people in New York City have the opportunity to take the train.
Which is, available 24 hours to Chinatown located on canal street. New York City is most definitely
the city that does not sleep. The lights are always shining in New York City and there is always
something to do. The diversity in New York City is shown in the West Indian Caribbean Carnival
Parade. Many Caribbean people from distinct backgrounds come together and celebrate. The various
flags and costumes convey the distinct backgrounds. There were people from Jamaica, Trinidad,
Barbados, and the Bahamas. The bountiful of costumes, dance and music can make one entice.
There was J'ouvert which is where people dance to soca music and pain themselves. Overall this is a
yearly experience where people can come together with people from distinct backgrounds and enjoy
themselves.I remember going to Grenada day in Brooklyn last year. Being born in Grenada and
learning that New York City actually has celebrations to let others learn about my culture makes me
enthusiastic to state what New York City has to offers. In Grenada day hundreds of people get to

The Great City Of New York
Glamour and Riches
Since the introduction of films and theatres the great city of New York has often been depicted as an
idyllic place to live, where people go to make their dreams come true. One movie in particular
enthral us in its representation of New York City, Breakfast at Tiffany's based on Truman Capote's
novella brings the glamourous atmosphere of the high society to our door step. Produced in 1961, it
also opens a window to the mores of the time. This movie made New York City the place to be to
get rich and live free. It acts as an icon for the American Dream, a City of hope.
As the film opens on a scene of Holyday Golightly, actress Audrey Hepburn, still wearing an
evening gown getting out of a taxi and gazing at the displays of the Tiffany's store on Fifth Avenue,
the spectator can already feel the richness of New York. Breakfast at Tiffany's describes New York
as a grand place full of light and richness; nowhere in the movie do we see a person struggling to
survive. Moreover, even though Holy is utterly unable to manage her money, the City itself seems to
provide for her whenever she is in need. A new opportunity to enrich her always seems to appear out
of nowhere. Consequently, New York appears as a benefactor bestowing its greatness to the citizens,
opportunities and chances to "make it big" await at every corner. Holy's dream is to someday have
breakfast at Tiffany's, which symbolise her quest for riches as well as her foolish character since it is

New York City : My Experience To New York City
When I first arrived in New York City, it was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
Growing up in a small town, I had never experienced that much chaos in a place before. We arrived
in New York on a beautiful, hot, summer morning. While driving into the city, it felt as if the
skyscrapers were closing in on us. If I were to roll down my window I could touch the car beside
me. I felt nervous as the taxi driver was weaving through traffic. With all of the honking and
beeping, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. We finally arrived at our hotel. We were staying in
the Upper West Side: one of the more luxurious parts of the city. We had gotten a deal on a room
because there was construction outside of the building: something that was familiar to New York
anyway. We dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed back out. We walked aimlessly until we
found a charming little cafe called Isabella's. The cafe was located just outside of the lush Central
Park. When we walked into the cafe it was like we were transported to Paris–with a hint of New
York. There were beautiful table settings and the architecture of the building was nothing short of
fascinating. Waiters and waitresses were running around frantically as we were escorted outside to
our table. It was a beautiful day in New York City; it was hot but there was a cool breeze to relieve
you of the heat. From our table, you could see Central Park in all its glory. It felt like a dream. After

City for the past eighteen years. Uptown is very different from downtown Manhattan. I grew up
with bodegas at every possible corner. Usually, one of the bodegas are owned by Muslim people,

It seems as if the beautifully constructed buildings were abandoned. It is rare seeing someone
walking through those streets because it is the rich side of the neighborhood. But on Sherman
Avenue, we see people talking to each other, men catcalling women, girls and boys playing tag or
riding their bikes around during the warm weather. There seems to be a connection between
neighbors and friends. Outside the elementary and middle schools, the same vendor always appears,
no matter if it's winter or summer, either selling coquitos, churros, chicharrines, and other treats.
Coquito is the slang word for ices. Coquitos come in different flavors, these are mostly sold during
the warm weather. Churros and chicharrines are Mexican treats. Churros is made from a special
dough, and both chicharrines and churros are deep fried. Churros look like a long brown straw
sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Chicharrines vary in shape. Some look like a tan–colored mini
car wheel, and others look like a half–sized worm. We like to eat them with Salsa Valentina or
Tapatio, Mexican–brand sauces. The kids are always begging their mothers to give them a dollar to
buy these treats. In Central Park I have seen, every time I have gone, Caucasian families sitting
down with blankets, reading to their children. But when you go to Fort Tryon Park, which is better

The New City Of New York
It was not easy for Johnny to move into a new city. It was very problematic for him to move into a
new city because he knew no one, and he had no friends. The new city that Johnny moved into was
New York. It is also known as The Big Apple. That city has a population of 8.6 million people. New
York has many attractions. Examples of them are: Empire State Building, Statue Of Liberty and
Time Square. Johnny always had a dream to go to New York and see these attractions, but he did not
picture it like this. He did not imagine himself living with his family all bored. He imagined himself
partying all night, having friends and having fun. This did not happen. Johnny had multiple
problems when he came into New York. Moving in was not his only one. He also had to face the
troubles of going to a new middle school. The new school that Johnny had transferred to was
Cornwall Collegiate Vocational School. It was a very big school, but very old. The school was old
because it was built in the year 1806. Johnny had a hard time fitting in because he was getting
bullied by a kid in his class. His name is Jack Foster. Jack was not an average kid. He was much
bigger and stronger than any regular kid. Jack is a 7 foot 3 humanoid . He weighs 197 pounds and is

Living In New York City

  • 1. Living In New York City New York City, the American dream's shining icon and the cultural mixing pot, was just a name I knew when I was young. Nine years ago, I finally set foot in the fabled city when my family immigrated to the United States. The gigantic airport, JFK International, spanned miles and its terminals stood proudly over the jumbo jets below. That night, nausea from the plane's descension and the entropic motions of my aunt's Jeep dissuaded me from seeing the outside world. I rested my head on my mom's lap while imagining what the city was like. Just a few days ago, I lived in ShenZhen. On the opposite side of the Hong Kong, ShenZhen shared much of its prosperity. Thus, I believed that New York City is no different from where I lived. However, I wanted to see the subway system that many other cities modeled after. I was also interested in learning the American culture, such as religions and holidays. The concept of religion was alien to me, partly because most people in China were atheists. I woke up early in the morning, eager to see the snow outside and all the "foreign" novelties. In the kitchen, my aunt and cousin were making toast and took out glass bottles of Snapple. After breakfast, I conversed with him in broken English. We had many common interests, namely video games and biking. So adhering to those, I spent the next few days growing accustomed to the new city. New York City, in its grand size, cannot be explored in a few days or weeks. Its complexity, in spite of the ... • 2. Vacationing In New York City Vacationing in New York City can be a fun and exciting time, but the amount of the things to do may seem overwhelming. By knowing what type of activity one would like to experience, it may be easier and more enjoyable in making decision on to see and do. There are many different categories of attractions in New York City, and most fall into that of Art, History, Architecture, and Leisure. New York City boasts deep roots in the world of the Arts. The city is home to Broadway and the New York City Ballet Company. Shows in both are performed each season and can be a memorable event to go see. While prices are higher for these types of performances, one is able to witness the culmination of handwork and talent come together to make a lovely show, and is well worth it. Art galleries and art museums fill the city with all varieties of art. Some of the best places to view art are: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Cloisters, and The Guggenheim Museum. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which holds art from all different cultures and eras, is one of the largest art museums in the United States. The Cloisters in Upper Manhattan, holds the Metropolitans's collection of Mid–evil art. The building itself is of mid–evil architecture and is lovely to tour, as well as the gardens surrounding it. The Guggenheim Museum displays impressionists and post– impressionist art, as well as modern and contemporary pieces. The unique cylindrical shape of the building is a work of art itself and ... • 3. New York City In modern day society, New York City is known for its hustle, bustle and immense steel towers that overshadow paved streets and crowded sidewalks. Moreover, when New York comes to mind green, eco–friendly living is not the first thing most people think about. However, it is in New York's best interest to change that viewpoint. Due to overpopulation and increase in public draw, New York has taken its turn towards becoming a metropolitan waste land, and it is imperative that there be changes made. For instance, eco–architecture is a big topic of discussion in modern day urban society, and it should be taken into consideration when discussing the development towards a greener city such as the Big Apple also known as New York City, New York. Consequently, eco–architectural changes will advance the overall aesthetic to one of the most famous tourist attractions in the globe, as well as improve its economic status and improve business. To begin with, today's population is very interested in what is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It is crucial for a region with such high customer traffic to be visually attractive to the visitors. Ross Donolow, owner of a eco architectural building company, Thin Flats, stated in an interview "You're living in somethings that's very green and sustainable, something that's saving energy, and something that looks aesthetically just incredible." (Dowolow, 2011) Feedback such as this is not cause alone to go gung ho and tear down the infamous Big ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. New York City New York City is always bustling, after all, it is known as the city that never sleeps. There are only a few places that offers an escape. Ever since Governors Island have opened its doors for visitors, it has been the escape. However, the Island needs to go through some changes to be a perfect recreational area worthy for the people of New York. History To understand the Governors Island and fix its problems, we need to look at the history. It was originally owned by the Lenape tribe and used as a fishing camp, the island was called Pagganck or Nooten Eylandt, meaning Nut Island. This is because the island was home to many chestnut, oak, and hickory trees. In 1637, a Representative from Holland purchased the island from the tribe. A few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After several years under the US Coast Guard, the Island fell into disrepair, but the people of New York saw its potential. In 2003, the People of New York bought 150 acres of Governors Island for $1 dollar. The remaining 22 acres were declared Governors Island National Monument, which is under the care and control of the National Park Service. Current Construction Plans and Issues Since Governor's Island was designed as a military base and closed off from the public for a very long time, it was not suitable for visitors looking for recreation. The middle portion has a large open ground space, but the high buildings complexes that surrounded the perimeter of the island blocked it. The only recreational area is on the northern point of the island with the Fort Day monument. The lack of transportation in the island is also an issue. Governor's Island has kept a pact "to keep the Island as car–free as possible; that 's part of what makes the Island so unique!" To get to the island, they have a ferry services from Manhattan and Brooklyn. Once within the island, the only mode of transportation is bicycle. Since the island is only 2.2 miles long along the perimeter, these two modes of transportation are enough, and it takes you away from any aspects of the busy New York City. Since the Island was transferred to the hands of the City of New York in 2003, Governors Island became the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The New York City Council A bill is a proposed legislation that is brought to a legislative body. In the case of the New York City Council, the bill is introduced into the Council at a Stated Meeting and becomes a law after an intricate voting or vetoing process with the Council and the Mayor of New York City ("Legislative Process"). In the last year, many bills were passed by the New York City Council. While browsing through the list of bills passed in the last year, a bill in particular stood out to me – "Reducing city government emission of greenhouse gases by 40 percent by 2030," as it is a bill that proposes a way to tackle climate change. The bill was dated to be on the agenda for October 15, 2015, and its co– sponsors are Donovan J. Richards, Costa G. Constantinides, Margaret S. Chin, Mathieu Eugene, Vincent J. Gentile, Corey D. Johnson, Peter A. Koo, Rosie Mendez, Annabel Palma, Deborah L. Rose, Andrew Cohen, and Ydanis A. Rodriguez. It proposes for the city government to have at least a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 ("The New York City Council"). Four months prior to the bill coming to the agenda of the New York City Council, Mayor Bill de Blasio pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions in New York City. He presented new targets for greenhouse gas emissions for New York City and "urged other cities to follow suit." Though he did not directly mention the proposal of the bill to the City Council, he announced at the Vatican that "the Big Apple was taking an interim step" by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Functionalism In New York City New York City can be described as an infrastructural flux, a back–and–forth conflict between its modern–day technological advancements and its architectural remnants. Its modern–day infrastructure – a fusion that bridges together different eras of technological innovations – plays an important role as a physical record, or contextualization, of how New York City developed into the iconic metropolis it is today. Kate Ascher's The Works: Anatomy of a City uses the idea of functionalism to explain the complexity and intrinsic design of New York City's infrastructure, especially the function of streets as the foundation for the rest of the city's buildings and infrastructure and protection for underground facilities, such as New York City's plumbing and electrical systems, and the subway system. An inconspicuous, but crucial infrastructure that supports everyday life in New York City is its simplistic, grid–pattern streets. Streets not only provide a clear separation for pedestrian traffic, or sidewalks, and the rest of the city's traffic, or roads, but they also, through the Grid Plan, create a systemized map of New York City. With each street and avenue numbered or named, the distinction between streets allows traveling from one location to another to not only be convenient, but also highly systemized to reduce confusion. For example, walking northward, or in the direction of increasing street number, on University Place can take you directly from NYU's campus to Union ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. New York City : My Experience In The New York City Looking around, I had noticed diversity like I'd never seen before. I was in another world. Even though New York City can be a dangerous place, I felt comfortable there. My view of Kansas is now forever changed. On that trip, I discovered what I wanted to do during my adult life. My back was sore from waiting in the stiff airport chair. I sat there gazing at all the travelers moseying their way to a seat or hurrying to their gate. Just a few hours ago, I was at school, eating lunch with my fifth–grade class. Then all of a sudden, my mom was there saying I had an appointment she had forgot about. We shuffled across the tile floor to the office. I studied the orange fish in the tank by the secretary's desk, waiting for my sister. When she arrived, my mom took out her phone and held it up like she was going to take a picture. I raised an eyebrow in confusion. My mom handed us each a tiny envelope with a list of things we needed to pack. My confusion quickly transformed into delight when I read the bottom of the page. It said that we were leaving for New York City that evening! We drove home and packed our things, then headed to KCI. I tried my best to sit still and contain my delight. After going through the maze of ropes, people, luggage, and metal scanners, our trip was ready to start! Except it didn't. After waiting in the airport for an hour, we boarded the plane. I peered out the window at the enormous white wing of the plane, imagining how smooth it will fly through the sky to take me to the Big Apple. But, that didn't happen as soon as I'd hoped. After sitting on the plane for an hour, we were asked to go back inside the airport due to difficulties with the plane. "Will I ever get to New York?" I thought as I slouched back into the uncomfortable chair. My stomach trembled like an earthquake while growling because I hadn't eaten since lunch and all of the restaurants in KCI were closed. I sat there in silence, disappointed, for an hour or so. I thought they were going to cancel the flight and that I wasn't going to get to go. Just then, the muffled voice of a flight attendant came through the speakers, telling us that the plane was ready. Once back on the plane, the flight was quiet, and ... • 10. New York City Essay If you could visit any city in the world, where would you go? Most people love to travel and they usually have a particular destination they want to visit. Learning new things about a city's history , and popular landmarks can make a trip to that city fun and educational. Another reason people travel is to experience new cultures and try new things and even see new sceneries. New York City, New York is one of the largest cities in America, it "stretches over approximately 300 square miles" (Badertscher). New York City is known for its very large public parks and big industries such as fashion, publishing and theater. The twin tower terrorist attack really hurt New York's economy and they lost 10% business space. It took many years to get the city cleaned and rebuilt. The attack was the worst thing the city had faced and caused a very sad time "killing more than 2,700 people ("New"). New York City has a lot of history, that history has formed New York City into a much better and stronger community. On September 11, 2001 terrorist hijacked planes and hit the twin towers (Badertscher). When making a trip to New York City there are many important places to visit and look at. "The Statue of Liberty is located in New York Harbor and is shared with nearby New Jersey"(Badertscher). Taking a trip to liberty island is very easy, there are boats that take you there and you can get a better look at the statue of Liberty (Oreske). There are two stone lions that are very ... • 11. The City : The Teens Of The New York City The year is 2514 in New York City, now a place that looked like it was abandoned long ago. But it was not abandoned, there were still citizens living inside its borders. The problem was the city ran out of funds to support itself and the only money left was behind a vault in the city hall that had a passcode none of the citizens knew. Behind it was tons of gold that could easily fix the problems of the city and bring it back to what it once was. The passcode was the only detail keeping the old ruined city from coming back to a thriving place with thousands of people living within it. The teens of the city, now known as kidz, are part of a pact and have secret meetings every so often. Two of these kidz, Joel a studious boy and Mike the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is the code we have been looking for!" "Are you sure Joel?" Mike responded. "Why else would it be on the blueprint for the city hall that contained the vault if it wasn't the code?" Joel mentioned. "That is a conclusive point, but if we want what is in the vault, we need to get to the vault." Mike said. "Oh that, that is easy. All we have to do is sneak past the guards, find the vault, enter the code, and claim the gold. Simple, right?" Joel asked. "Not quite, but it is a good plan." Mike responded. Then, as Joel said, at exactly 12:00 a.m. they left their "house" and went into the darkest of alley ways. They snuck very quietly to avoid detection from the guards. Both realized it was not too far to reach City Hall. After about 30 minutes of traveling through the dark decrepit alleyway, they had made it to the city hall. Silence was their priority to avoid being heard by the guards and being BUSTED! When they heard a guard coming they quickly sprinted to hide behind a fallen book shelf. As they hid behind the shelf, there was not a sound to be heard except the heavy footsteps of the guard passed through, but fortunately they were not seen. Once the guards cleared, the two snuck through the old worn down hallways five more times before finding a very odd book case in an area that looked unordinary for one to be in. "Ok Mike, I think this is it. We only have one chance though, so it better be it." Joel whispered. "Well if we only have one chance we must ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A trip to New York has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have always wanted to visit the place of tall buildings, history, and where culture is intertwined with its people. I have wanted to live the fast pace life of a New Yorker, where I could stand outside and see, smell, and taste all of the experiences that this city has to offer. The taxi ride itself was long, but I was to busy to care, because I was taking in all of the sites like a vacuum. The true moment of the taxi ride came to be once we entered the city of Manhattan. The taxi driver was true to form by honking, speeding when allowed, and not caring if we cut off anyone during our drive. The traffic from the airport to the city was a big jumbled mess. I have never experienced traffic this bad before. I was so excited once our taxi man paid the toll to get into Manhattan. Paying that toll was like gaining access to a secret society. The city, it people and the buildings welcomed us with open arms. The sounds of the city penetrated the walls of the cab as we drove through the streets of Manhattan. I could hardly wait to partake in the action that was happening outside. The buildings themselves were an amazing site to behold. The buildings took on personalities of their own. Each building was bigger and more graceful than the next. When lights were added to the mix it was a dazzling combination. The city itself felt like a great big hug, and I felt overwhelmed by its power. The city allowed me to become part of it just like many others many years ago who immigrated to this awesome city. Mega cities must maintain the social, geographical, and environmental aspects of a modern city. New York City is an ever–growing city that must adjust to the impending complications that lie ahead. New York City has taken many initiatives in the twenty–first century to try and improve the life of future New Yorkers. Mayor De Blasio has done a great job so far enacting policies to ensure that New York City continues to be a global model for modern life in an urban city. • 14. New York City Comparison The two most famous cities in United State. New York City and Los Angeles are two big cities found within the United States of America. Very large and populous, the cities are found in different states, New York City being in New York while Los Angeles being in California. They both attract thousands of visitors in spite of being hugely crowded and costly to live in. While the cities have some similarities and may be attractive to various people depending on their lifestyles and preferences, New York City and Los Angeles are vastly different, especially in their climate, housing, population, and transportation. New York City's (NY) Climate significantly differs with that of Los Angeles (LA). Halle & Beveridge (2013) note that in New York, the winter is glistening and frosty. As such, the atmosphere is classic in the Yuletide season thus making it possible to engage in such activities as snow man assembling and ice skating. In contrast, Los Angeles has winters that are extremely mild and summers that are leisurely and warm. In New York, the warmest temperatures are usually experienced in the ... • 16. New York City : The City Of The World Welcome to the capital of the world, the city that never sleeps and the place that I call home –– New York City. Although there are many other cities across the United States, New York City has a certain je ne sais quoi about it, that makes it seem better than the rest. Home to the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, the Empire State Building, and many other landmarks and attractions, New York City is a tourist's dream come true. Unfortunately, people like me, who have lived and grown up here, tend to find the city and its attractions boring and not as appealing as they have all been made out to be. Through "Here's My New York," E.B White explains that there are those who are born here and take the city for granted, those who come into the city by day and leave by night, and those who have migrated from different parts of the world in search for a better life. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, until my parents and I moved to the United States on my sixth birthday. We spent the first two months, shacked up in my aunt's extremely small and narrow one bedroom apartment in the Lower East Side. After that, my parents found an apartment in the Bronx, about 5 blocks from the Bronx Zoo, that I still call home to this day. Growing up, my parents were always working and never took me to any of the famous attractions around the city. As I got older, I began to go out by myself or on dates, and started developing my own idea of what New York City is to me and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Things such as gang activity, carjacking, robberies and murder happens on a daily basis. It is more common in the projects, it sure is rough living there. A Lot of people's goal is to make it out, but not a lot of people make it out alive. Living in public housing wasn't the best thing in the world. The projects in New York would have poor living conditions like the elevators smelled like weed and people would have gotten stuck in the elevator. You have to push the emergency 911 button and the firefighters will come. The stairs are really dirty and filled with pee, it also smelled like weed. One time I actually saw poop on the stairs from a human. The delivery people would get robbed all the time and at times stabbed or killed. You would hear police sirens every single day and most of the time they were in the building. My dad had gotten robbed before and my brother got shot. Gang members all hanged out downstairs in front of the building, they sold drugs too. Everyone had food stamps to help them with their lifestyle, you can use it in the supermarket or corner store. In New York City you ain't really hear the things that were happening outside because NY is so loud and noisy because of the cars going by but you sure did hear them in York,PA. I imagine that if the soles of my shoes were dipped in red paint, I'd trace a jagged, winding path that trails across avenues and zigzags through city blocks throughout downtown Manhattan. I'd imagine that if the soles of every New Yorker's shoes were dipped in red paint, we would paint the town crimson with our intertwining footsteps. Perhaps if urban planners, the masterminds of Manhattan, could gaze down at us from a skyscraper, they would take offense at the patterns urbanites draw with their feet. Maybe the planners will sneer or frown with chagrin because New Yorkers walk how we want. We take shortcuts. We cut through parks. We jaywalk. The people of the city don't follow the blueprints of the urban planners. We walkers know where we are going. We, "the ordinary practitioners of the city", live down "below the thresholds at which visibility begins" (De Certeau, 93). We can see where we need to go, keep the image of the city in the back of our minds to guide us, but since we dwell at ground–level, we will never see the paths we take or the spaces we occupy in their totality. Lacking the ability see the image of the city as a composite picture, New Yorkers experience only a fragment of it each day. Lynch writes that "our perception of the city is not sustained, but rather partial, fragmentary, mixed with other concerns" (Lynch, 2). I was born in Brooklyn, I moved to ... • 20. Describe New York City There are two main reasons I have applied to NYU. The first is because New York City is my favorite place in the world. The first time I came to New York was with my mom. We had taken a bus from Vermont to Massachusetts and then into New York. The bus ride was long and uncomfortable, but I was as bouncy and ecstatic. When I stepped out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal and on to 8th Avenue, there was only one word that could accurately describe the feeling; home. Even though I was only able to be in the city for seventeen hours, every minute felt like a lifetime. My mom and I spent most of the day in the Theatre District, except for a quick trip uptown to the Hamilton Grange National Memorial. It was uptown that I figured out there was nowhere ... • 21. New York City New York City was the center for the transporting goods in and out of the city. Businesses were on the rise as well for the working class but it that slowly declined due to the war and destruction of slave plantations. Following this destruction, New York became America's metropolis following in the footsteps of London and Paris. Later, the Political powers that be became involved to control commerce and the classification of workers. There was a classification of jobs distinguishing the middle class from the lower–class artisans. They were made up small master, masters, journeymen and apprentices also known as artisans. Craftsman who were referred to as the working–class elite which was a prestigious job to secure. Clerks and unskilled workers were male's workers and domestic servants were mainly women. The Treaty of Ghent ended the war of 1812 which marked the return of commerce. This allowed shipping to Britain to resume between Manhattan and Britain. In addition, the Erie Canal enlarged the area of shipping in and out of New York. New York was considered the 'business capital" with a growing population. It was a popular place for foreign tourist and attracted immigrants. These dreams are a bit scattered to the winds at the moment, but I can pin down at least one of them: my dream to go to New York City. Despite the fact that New York is many miles away, I still find myself wanting to go there. I don't have family there, or anything easily nailed down like that. Instead, I want to go to that city for a few touchy–feely reasons that can only be explained with a bit of personal context. It's a bit hard to describe my dream (since it's more of a feeling then a concrete thing), but I'll try my best to break it down into three tangible reasons. I could go on and on about all sorts of micro–reasons, but the main reasons I want to go to NYC are because of the general attractions, the fashion, and the culture. Well, to get it out of the way, the first reason I will talk about for going to New York City is because of the general attractions the city has, as in landmarks and famous places. Unfortunately, describing the interesting places of a city or town is a bland staple of any essay that focuses on a vacation destination, including this one. With New York, the general attractions (although spectacular), are a bit worn down. NYC's famous places have been heard about by everyone and have been in everything, making the city a bit of a tourist trap. • 24. City In New York City Every city has more than one story to tell, more than one face to show. In "Mexican Manifesto," Bolaño's narrator tells us that "[j]ust as the hidden face of other cities is in theatres, parks, docks, beaches, labyrinths, churches, brothels, bars, cheap cinemas, old buildings, even supermarkets, the hidden face of Mexico City could be found in the enormous web of public baths, legal, semi legal, and clandestine." Likewise, the hidden face of New York City lies within parks, museums, restaurants, etc. New York City is called "the City of Dreams", "city that never sleeps" and "the Capital of the World", especially to the outsiders – the tourists. However, is that the city all about? Not even close! People tend to look at the bigger and more obvious picture. No one takes the time to analyze and thus, they end up missing out on the little facets which also have their own stories to tell. One can only understand a city to the full extent if one knows the entire truth consisting of the good and the bad as well as the essential and trivial factors. Out of the many places I have visited in New York City, Central Park is one of my favorite places that brings me joy. I am one of the millions of people who visit the park every year. • 25. Diversity In New York City What does New York offer its inhabitants? New York is a state where most of its Inhabitants are immigrants. In fact, The Huff Post states, "Over 37% of New York City residents were born in another country..., A high record of 3.07 million foreign–born immigrants lives in New York City". What New York City offers its inhabitants is quite unique from other places. It also offers the ability to know about people from other countries, it's full of diversity. It offers endless adventures to grow. Furthermore, it offers the feeling of being in a neighborhood where you feel like home. The idea of the diversity in New York it sounds strange to me at the first, I doubt it. At first, my idea was mundane because I get used to watching just one side of the inhabitants, and it was the side of the Hispanic people. After, going to BMCC everything changed. I started to see New York with new eyes and I started to learn a lot about cultures, for example, the scarf that Muslim women wear, which its name is hijab. Now, a quote who supports this is from the Garnette Cadogan eloquent essay, "Immigrants are central to the allure of the city. It's a truism the city repeats endlessly to itself: Immigrants provide a rich diversity and cosmopolitan flavor that awaken one's sense and enliven one's sense of identity." This is the idea that I really feel empathy for him. It means that immigrants are important to New York City because they represent the city. The incontrovertible truth that New York ... • 26. New York City Essay There have always been numerous reasons for people to move. Whether it be a push factor, like war or lack of religious freedom, or a pull factor, like job opportunities, people have some reason to move. New York City, like many of the cities in growing America in the late 1800s, had been a huge draw for masses of immigrants wanting to leave their countries due to major push factors like war and famine (Dial). As cities grow, they always need people to fill jobs to help it grow, and with so many people immigrating the structure of the city itself was changing. More factories were established as New York City and New York in general was and is a major city for imports and exports due to its location on the east coast of the United States. With more factories, came more jobs that needed to be filled, and the immigrants coming into New York, mainly from European countries, were a perfect fit as they had limited English and needed any job they could find, even if it meant dealing with low wages and shoddy working conditions. Large companies like the Triangle Shirtwaist Company were no stranger to understanding that industry played a major role in the economic structure of New York City (Triangle Fire: One Hundred Years After). These companies tended to take advantage of the immigrant workers they employed by not paying them very well, and reducing cost to the owners by having minimal regulation and upkeep of safety protocol. • 27. The City Of New York City The aroma of food vendors, taxi cabs, and flowers molest the face of a person as they walk the streets of New York City. The rush of a city can often be overwhelming. Even though that may be true, 80.7 percent of the U.S. population lived in urban areas as of the 2010 Census. Living in New York City is better than living in a Haysi. Living in a city offers many more conveniences, opportunities, and more diversity. Living in a city offers many amenities and service that might very well not be available in a rural area. New York City for example, has terrible traffic. A typical commute of five miles can take between seven minutes and two hours in a car. One major advantage to a city, NYC in particular, is their flawless public transportation system. Taking the subway, the commute can be shortened to an average time of ten to fifteen minutes. Take out service is great as well. Imagine it is two o'clock AM, if someone were to wake up hungry, they could call their local takeout restaurant and more than likely, they would be open. Cities have so many grocers as well. Not only do cities have more conveniences, but they also offer more opportunity. 8.406 million Americans call New York City their home. Due to the large population, there is a large diversity. Many different cultures often bring in new opportunity for work that might not have been thought of in the past. Living in a large city such as NYC also means a larger, broader job market. Even after the recession had ended in 2009 the economic issues are still very prominent. Everything economically related to the health and welfare of the vast majority of our American citizens, has sky rocketed in a very negative way. Students, parents, children and families alike have, and continue to struggle with hunger on a day to day basis. Our communities have become impoverished with food, expanding state to state with hunger and even starvation. New York City, has become a haven of families struggling with the realities that hunger can bring. How long can we live like this before somebody does anything about this? • 31. New York City Whenever we grow up, we have places that we want to move to. Sometimes, home is the place that you want to be, but some other times it isn't. This decision can be based on many different things, for example, having family nearby, opportunities, and the cost of living, which these two places are very highly populated cities that are in two different countries, and both they speak English differently. London and New York are these options because of the culture that they have, and also, there are very opportunities there, and right now, New York City is looking more favorable because it would be easier to get there. One of the main reasons that New York looks more promising, is because of the culture and because you can do many things, even at night (Rosenbaum). Whenever people talk about New York, we think of movies, a land of wonderful opportunities that could lead into The American Dream. These opportunities are for everyone, not just people who are from the city, even from people that come from absolutely nothing. This makes it one of the best wonderful cities in the world, there's so much variety of skills that people have, because of the people that come from different places in the world. Because of this, no one will feel alone in this city (Rashid). There are millions of people walking down the streets, laughing, interacting, and since they know that the chances of them seeing you again are very slim, they become very extrovert, especially the people that are from around. This is good if you're trying to make friends, because you can meet a lot of people and if you don't want to keep hanging out with them, you could just dismiss them or keep in touch. One of the negatives that this city has is that some places are very dirty and smell bad ("Why is New York"). Because of the big amounts of people making trash in the streets and their houses. But the trash accumulations happen because the budget of the city is very small for sanitation. If people cared about it enough and protested to put more attention on the sanitation, then the city would turn around and change some things, but it seems to not be a problem for New Yorkers since this hasn't happened. Tough problems ranging from poverty, increased immigration, high crime, increase in drug activities, air and water pollution, and high population density, and so many more. These are just some of the many problems that have threatened the quality of life for New Yorkers. This paper seeks to examine three tough challenges; poverty, air and water pollution, and population density, which have faced the city of New York as well as pointing some possible solutions to these problems. One of the toughest problems facing New York City is poverty; sources have revealed that more than 45% percent of the population living in this city is struggling to make ends meet (Durkin, 2017). This problem has plunged the city into a dilemma as the nation struggles to wipe out poverty. Since the recession in 2008, most of the adults in New York City are working on a full–time basis to meet basic needs. The city has been strained with increasing price of rent, high standards of living, and low wages. Even though employment has been rising, the number of individuals living in poverty is startling. New York City Analysis When someone says New York, most people visualize tall, glimmering skyscrapers on grid–like blocks, surrounded by buildings for business, filled with millions of working people, walking and shuffling about, over the noise of yellow taxi cabs and MTA city buses driving down the urban streets lined with stores and shops on every corner. Most people visualize this mass of land topped with buildings, streets, cars, people, which at night, appear to be illuminated by specs of light from the vastest array of shades of red, yellow, orange, and white light. Each spec of light could almost represent each of the eight million people living in this city. Everyone is a different shade and color, all different. Like the people residing in it, the neighborhoods of New York City are also all a different shade and color. People can never feel overwhelmed with loneliness while living in New York City. For example, while living in New York City many people have the opportunity to visit China without traveling. Many people in New York City have the opportunity to take the train. Which is, available 24 hours to Chinatown located on canal street. New York City is most definitely the city that does not sleep. The lights are always shining in New York City and there is always something to do. The diversity in New York City is shown in the West Indian Caribbean Carnival Parade. Many Caribbean people from distinct backgrounds come together and celebrate. The various flags and costumes convey the distinct backgrounds. There were people from Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, and the Bahamas. The bountiful of costumes, dance and music can make one entice. There was J'ouvert which is where people dance to soca music and pain themselves. • 36. The Great City Of New York Glamour and Riches Since the introduction of films and theatres the great city of New York has often been depicted as an idyllic place to live, where people go to make their dreams come true. One movie in particular enthral us in its representation of New York City, Breakfast at Tiffany's based on Truman Capote's novella brings the glamourous atmosphere of the high society to our door step. Produced in 1961, it also opens a window to the mores of the time. This movie made New York City the place to be to get rich and live free. It acts as an icon for the American Dream, a City of hope. As the film opens on a scene of Holyday Golightly, actress Audrey Hepburn, still wearing an evening gown getting out of a taxi and gazing at the displays of the Tiffany's store on Fifth Avenue, the spectator can already feel the richness of New York. Breakfast at Tiffany's describes New York as a grand place full of light and richness; nowhere in the movie do we see a person struggling to survive. Moreover, even though Holy is utterly unable to manage her money, the City itself seems to provide for her whenever she is in need. A new opportunity to enrich her always seems to appear out of nowhere. Consequently, New York appears as a benefactor bestowing its greatness to the citizens, opportunities and chances to "make it big" await at every corner. Holy's dream is to someday have breakfast at Tiffany's, which symbolise her quest for riches as well as her foolish character since it is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. New York City : My Experience To New York City When I first arrived in New York City, it was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Growing up in a small town, I had never experienced that much chaos in a place before. We arrived in New York on a beautiful, hot, summer morning. While driving into the city, it felt as if the skyscrapers were closing in on us. If I were to roll down my window I could touch the car beside me. I felt nervous as the taxi driver was weaving through traffic. With all of the honking and beeping, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. We finally arrived at our hotel. We were staying in the Upper West Side: one of the more luxurious parts of the city. We had gotten a deal on a room because there was construction outside of the building: something that was familiar to New York anyway. We dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed back out. We walked aimlessly until we found a charming little cafe called Isabella's. The cafe was located just outside of the lush Central Park. When we walked into the cafe it was like we were transported to Paris–with a hint of New York. There were beautiful table settings and the architecture of the building was nothing short of fascinating. Waiters and waitresses were running around frantically as we were escorted outside to our table. It was a beautiful day in New York City; it was hot but there was a cool breeze to relieve you of the heat. From our table, you could see Central Park in all its glory. It felt like a dream. • 38. My New York City Skyscrapers, the Statue of Liberty, SoHo, Central Park and The World Trade Center are all the pictures that show up in the head of a tourist and are shown on Wikipedia when you search for New York City. But what about my New York City? Living in upper Manhattan has been my New York City for the past eighteen years. Uptown is very different from downtown Manhattan. I grew up with bodegas at every possible corner. Usually, one of the bodegas are owned by Muslim people, and across the street one will be owned by Latinos such as Mexicans and Dominicans. The so– called skyscrapers will most likely be all the five–to–six floor story buildings you see when you walk through the streets. The Central Park we have is the two parks that connect: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seems as if the beautifully constructed buildings were abandoned. It is rare seeing someone walking through those streets because it is the rich side of the neighborhood. But on Sherman Avenue, we see people talking to each other, men catcalling women, girls and boys playing tag or riding their bikes around during the warm weather. There seems to be a connection between neighbors and friends. Outside the elementary and middle schools, the same vendor always appears, no matter if it's winter or summer, either selling coquitos, churros, chicharrines, and other treats. Coquito is the slang word for ices. Coquitos come in different flavors, these are mostly sold during the warm weather. Churros and chicharrines are Mexican treats. Churros is made from a special dough, and both chicharrines and churros are deep fried. Churros look like a long brown straw sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Chicharrines vary in shape. Some look like a tan–colored mini car wheel, and others look like a half–sized worm. We like to eat them with Salsa Valentina or Tapatio, Mexican–brand sauces. The kids are always begging their mothers to give them a dollar to buy these treats. In Central Park I have seen, every time I have gone, Caucasian families sitting down with blankets, reading to their children. But when you go to Fort Tryon Park, which is better known as Dyckman Park, we see Hispanics with their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
