An Unforgettable Grandma
An Unforgettable Grandma Some people have grandparents, and others don't. I am so incredibly blessed to have a grandma that is so caring in
my life. Unfortunately, I don't get to see this loving person very often. She lives in Canada alongside the rest of my family. When I lived in
Michigan my parents, brother, and I owned a trailer in Canada that we would go to all the time. In 2012, we moved to Ohio, so we had to sell the
trailer. My grandma comes to visit us around three times a year, and we go down to see her on some holidays. I have grown to appreciate her more and
more. I hear a lot of people say they love their grandparents, so I ask them, "Why?" I get many responses like, "They give me the best Christmas
presents!" or "They make really good food!" My grandma does this, too, but there's so much more than that. She teaches me how to speak with love,
encourages me to put in effort, and helps me realize that the little things matter.
"I don't understand why he's being so mean to me. I hate him!" Emma exclaimed. Emma is my cousin who was once telling my grandma about a
person she hates. I was sitting in the kitchen with them as she told the story. As she went on, her voice got louder, and louder. She finally reached the
pinnacle of her voice, and just broke down. I remember thinking at this moment that if she were talking to me, I would have no idea how to respond
to her. My grandma, however, knew exactly what to do. She never once raised her voice. She tried to calm

Perspective Changes with Age
As a person ages, their perspective on life changes. A person eventually develops the ability to analyze, understand the importance of lack thereof of
things, and not take offense at all the little things in life. Your perspective also changes through the dropping of preconceived ideas and by
experiencing new situations.
As you age, your ability to analyze a particular situation develops drastically. When you are young, you think that there is one plain cut, simple, black
and white answer, but as you get older you realize there are many sides to almost everything. Eventually, people realize that there can be a "yes" and a
"no" answer to questions and that more than one person can be right in an argument.
As you get older, you begin to understand the importance or lack thereof of things. When you are an adolescent, you blow things way out of
proportion. Kids act as though not being invited to the most recent birthday party is the most important thing. When you are older you realize that it
is more important to be financially secure, have a home and be safe. You also realize that you don't need the latest model of the iPhone, or other
technological device as long as the necessary items you have work. As you become an adult, you begin to understand that we do not need to take
offense at all the small things in life. A person begins to understand that one person's negative comment towards them is not all that detrimental to them
on a large scale. If someone says that your

Descriptive Essay About My Grandmother
My grandmother was a tough lady.
At just over five feet tall, she was the kind of woman that you saw on the street and knew to move out of her way. Her demeanor was strict, her hands
tied with thick blue veins, crissВcrossing over her thin, frail fingers.
I remember holding her hands as a child, how delicate and soft they seemed and yet that never made them seem any less worn or sturdy. Her hands
told stories of different times, of different worlds and hardships. She had grown up worlds away from me, in a different land, at a different time, in an
era and a life that I would never know.
My grandmother had stories.
But, she never told stories. Her stories were in the way she ate – she savored her food, cherished it. Often she would be ... Show more content on

She was seldom outwardly affectionate. She didn't need to be. When I wrapped my arms around her small frame, afraid I would break her, she
responded with a strength disproportionate to her size.
She held tightly, like she was holding on for dear life, and then she let go, she smiled and she moved on.
My grandmother was an intelligent woman.
She had little schooling, but she had run businesses. She had managed on her own, with a husband and sons, in a country that didn't care for her or
her culture, but only for their aggrandized version of it. Her experiences were rightful cause to be jaded and hard, and yet she saw brightness and she
saw brightness in me. She saw the great things in life, she loved hard and appreciated the little things – us going for a walk together or just sitting in the
sun on a warm day.
My grandmother's stories were in her complaints.
My grandmother complained about petty things: things that I would complain about. But she never complained about life and she never complained
about pain.
My grandmother had developed a brain tumor, which when removed, removed much of her immediate memory. For a long time, she didn't remember
my name. She had no idea who I was. But she tried and she learned.
She understood perseverance and the importance of people and she carried on against all odds. The last time I spoke to her, she knew exactly who I
was, despite

Adventure Of Passing High School
Adventure. A three syllable, nine letter word; greek origin and has the definition that quotes "An unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience
or activity". Adventures are the exploration of something new and they usually hold valuable life lessons. They teach you something important so
you can learn from the experience. Young or old, naive or wise, idiotic or intelligent, anything can happen to you at any given time in life. You can
experience almost anything. In life we make many decisions and when we act on those decisions, we make new outcomes for ourselves. It's all apart
of the adventure. You could have the adventure of passing high school to the adventure of traveling the globe. The sky's the limit and you've got the

Every year something new, something exciting comes up, but you never know what it is. Anything could be hit or miss and it's all based on the
decisions you make. My first decision was to talk to the new kid at our table. He seemed lonely or like he didn't wanna be there; I really couldn't
tell. I wouldn't like being in a new school, after all, that was me a couple years back. There's this certain kind of drawing feeling that pulls you to
something, like looking at a new shiny toy and knowing that was the one you wanted for Christmas. It's happened plenty of times with friends,
material items, or even any random thing. This time, it was different. It was the drawing feeling that made you wanna scream on the top of your
lungs with excitement and shy away because you're too embarrassed to do anything. It fuels you with so many different emotions and drives you
insane. After talking to the new kid for some time, we got to know each other. We went out like normal friends do. Bowling, movies, parks, you
name it; we did it. It was just a matter of time before we became something more. October 15th, 2014 was the day, an extraordinary day at that. And
from then on, we were two slap happy teenagers with a lot of fun ahead of us. You begin to realize more and more things as time goes on and you
learn and grow from them. In something like our own in a short amount of time we learned trust, communication, and to let loose. We did everything
we could possibly think of. We

My Mother Influenced Me
Out of everyone in my life I feel as if my mother is the person who influences me most. My mother is someone who is very sweet and would do
anything for her kids as well as her family to make sure they are happy and smiling. As I started to grow up and started to go out and be more
independent that is when I started to realize what an impact my mom has on my life. Growing up my parents were divorced and my mom was the
one who basically raised me on her own. She showed me right from wrong and guided me and pushed me to do the right things in life and strive for
success. As I grew up my mom was always right by my side and accepted my dreams and wanted me to go out and pursue every dream I have. And
now looking back at everything my mom has taught me I can't thank her enough! Because without my mom pushing me to succeed, being there for me
when times were tough and being a forgiving person I would not be where I am today.
My mother's name is Heather and she is 38 years old. My mother and I look like sisters. She has dark brown hair, brown eyes how ever the only
difference is she is only five feet tall! I can always tell when my mom is entering the room by the clucking of her heels. My mom always wears

I Have Gone At Camp
At the end of every night of church camp, there is a campfire. Your sit around it with all of your friends as you become mesmerized by looking out in
the night sky at millions of stars, and listening to the crackling of the fire. You become content as time stops. For that short hour every night the world
is telling you that everything will be ok, just breathe. Then you realize what is right in front of you.
I have gone to camp for nine years now and this past year on July 1st, 2015 the campfire changed my life.
This year at camp instead of being a camper my best friend Julia and I decided that we were going to help cook for camp. This gave us the opportunity
to go to camp, and make a little bit of money to save up for college.
It was dark by time we got out of the kitchen and we went and got our coats and headed down to the campfire. We saw our friends Kent and Brody.
They saved us a seat in the front row, so we ran down and sat beside them. Once everyone was there we started by singing songs. These songs were not
normal. We sang loud to the "King of Kings and Lord of Lords." We danced, we sang, and we all had smiles on our faces. Then came the slow songs.
We swayed back and forth side by side and sang from the heart. My favorite song we sang was Sanctuary because it was the song where I was thanking
the Lord for my life, and where I could think back and see what God has done for me. After we got done singing all of these songs we sat down, got
comfortable.

The Little Things
When you're not paying close attention to all of the good things that can happen to you throughout the day, you don't really notice how many small
things there are that can have a positive effect. Small things on their own aren't much, but when you start to add them up they can become something
huge. For instance, playing fetch with my Labrador Buddy, or giving in to that craving of chocolate and enjoying every bite are very small things in
the grand scheme of things, but take either out of my life and it would be a tragedy. Every once in a while something happens that is clearly a big good
thing, but they don't happen often enough to really get you through that daily grind. For instance, my mom recently celebrated her 70th birthday... Show

These are things that are small on the surface, but if they went away they would be pretty big. If suddenly you have a health scare and are hanging
on to your life, something like having a good meal would seem pretty huge. If somebody you loved were to die, suddenly those hugs that you used
to share with them every day would linger over you and the lack of their presence would be one of the saddest things in your life. The small things
are really the big things because they reflect what truly matters to you. I have a very busy life and not everyday do I think about and appreciate having
a simple phone conversation with a friend, getting a much–needed hug from my boyfriend, or even just spending time with my niece, but these are the
things that would feel crippling if they went away. By doing this experiment I learned that people generally focus too much on the negative things in
the world and end up making themselves feel like victims. And they don't pay enough attention to the little things in the world that add up to make for
a life that's worth living. People love to recall all of the bad things that happen to them throughout the day, but really things don't happen to people,
things just happen. There are probably an equal amount of good things and bad things, so the trick to getting through life and making yourself happy
is to control how you respond to the world. If you focus on the bad and

Becoming A Teacher : My Experience In The Classroom
Today when I got to school, I took time to walk around and talk to students about their weekends. Mrs. Prioreschi is big on letting kids express
themselves and share things, and this time is perfect for allowing them to do that. After they got settled, I played their morning show on the computer
for students to watch. Computer class was next and they were in a new programming software called coding with legos. I got taught how to complete
a full set so could help students when they run into obstacles along the way. When we got back to the classroom, they got to have a mental brain
break. This is where students stand up and mirror a dance to a song the teacher projects. It was so much fun because I got to see student's personalities
come out through this.

When I was young, my ambition was always to be a teacher but that slowly faded through the years. I took this class to see if it would spark
something inside of me again that I had lost and the lightbulb definitely flashed today. When I walked into the classroom, a student who I would least
expect it from, came over and gave me hand written, two page, note that talked about how great of a teacher I am going to be one day and how much
they appreciated me. This is the reason behind everything. It's the little things that counts the most. Teaching and being in the classroom is so much
more enjoyable when you know they are supporters of you. Once everyone settled in, the class had morning meeting while I spent time

My Mentor Essay
Whenever someone hears about a mentor, the image of a teacher or a guidance counselor automatically pop up into their head. The image of a
mentor is often mistaken as a person of higher authority, however, this is not always the case. They are more than the individual you may confide
in or ask for direction in times of need, your mentor is your friend. The entire time while I was reading the poem, My Mentor, My Friend, all that
kept reoccurring were flashbacks to memories with close friends of mine. That's what struck me the most, the fact that it is okay to be able to
complete both jobs. This poem changed my perspectives each time I reread it, every single read, I experience it differently. Through the poem, my
goal was to obtain three ideas from the passage and take those and incorporate them into my own life, along with my experiences. The first point I
chose revolved around the welcoming arms of a friend, to the acceptance of one another. In response to this, the first memory that came to mind was
meeting my best friend. We met the summer of 2015, where we both were introduced to the drum corps activity, otherwise known as... Show more

My Childhood Experience In Childhood
When growing up, I recall having a decent childhood before entering elementary school, I was a joyful child. I never really cared much about
others or what they said about me, all I ever wanted was to have fun. My parents would describe me as a very hyper child who was always
laughing. It seemed that even in the worst situations my hyper activity and laughter could never stop. One time at the airport, I was running
around way too much and playing with other people's luggage. My mother chased me all around the airport until she caught me. She ended up
tying me to a chair. Even after being tied up, I was still squirming in my seat until our flight was called. It wasn't until I entered elementary school,
things began to change and, sadly, this wasn't for the better. I remember as if it were yesterday, it was the beginning of the school year and I had
started kindergarten. For my first time in school, I had adjusted quite well and even made my first best friend, her name was Lisa. After lunch, all
the kindergartners began to line up for recess, once we reached the playground everyone scattered off and did their own thing. 20 minutes into
recess, Lisa and I decide to play hide and go seek. As she began to count backward from 10 to 0, I quickly ran and hid behind slides and little did I
know that I would later regret this decision. While hiding behind the slides, I heard a group of girls giggling and being the type kid I was I wanted to
laugh too, but right before my little feet

Analysis Of Trifles By Susan Glaspell
The time and setting tell a lot about what a story and its underlying meaning can represent to each character individually and together. In the short
play "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell, readers and viewers are taken back to a period that is a lot different than the current. From the surroundings,
viewpoints of each sex and their assigned roles in the society all gave a greater understanding of what was portrayed and how it was essentially
handled. Trifles started with the Sheriff and his wife Mrs. Peters, Mr. Hale and Mrs. Hale and the County Attorney entering the home of the deceased
Mr. Wright. From the very beginning, it is easy to depict what the living arrangements are based on how the layout of the home and the condition it was

Hale because he was dead. They found him lying on his bed with a rope around his neck and rushed to alert the coroner. From there, the play begins to
expand beyond the case when the group arrives at the home searching for clues and indications.
While the men look around for bold indication of why this happened, the women looked around at the smaller details of the home and tried to relate to
the wife. As the men looked around the kitchen they concluded there was "nothing here but kitchen things". as they went on to search through her
cupboards making remarks about her worrying about her preserves while being held for murder. They went on to discuss that women are used to
worrying about trifles and what we would do without them. The way the men spoke about women made it clear that they believe that the women were
only good for housework and worrying about the little things such as kitchen work. throughout the discussion, the two other women huddled closer
together as if forming a bond as the men discuss their daily work as if it is merely little to nothing.
As the men went on to looking upstairs, Mrs. Hale continued her views on the men invasion of Mrs. Wright home while collecting some clothes for
Mrs. Wright who was in holding. As the women conversed and walked around the house, the women began to connect with each other and with Mrs.
Wright as Mrs. Hale discussed the type of woman she was in the earlier years and how it all changed after she was married. She

Reflective Essay On Physical Therapy
I was referred from the Children's Hospital outpatient physical therapy, where I was the only one not in diapers, to the Lakeshore Foundation for
people with lifelong disabilities, where I was somehow still the only one not in diapers. I showed up for my first day of aquatic physical therapy
wearing a new bikini that somehow managed to stay on my emaciated frame , but as I entered the pool it became clear that I had apparently missed the
memo that we all had to roll up to the function donning the latest in Victorian–era geriatric swimwear fit for a cloister. I quickly figured out that I was
not exactly their target demographic or typical patient. This was followed by the even more brutal realization that I was on the same blood
pressure and arthritis medications as all the grandpas moving at a speed of 1 step per minute on the treadmills next to me. I was left wondering
where all the cool young people with arthritis hang out, because clearly it wasn't there. I know I'm joking around about this, but being a teenager
with disabling illness is a painfully isolating experience. I used to think I was invincible. I wish that that were true. But the reality is that it as you
descend into complex medical blackhole, life moves on without you. While your peers are creating relationships and gaining their independence,
yours is being stripped away leaving you dispossessed and quite frankly, angry. I have missed out on a lot. I never learned how to drive a car, or ride a

Essay On A New Perspective
"To what degree can the narrator 's choices and actions influence the direction her life will take, it will depend on the narrator because it will be the
choices she will make that will break the pattern that was started with her." The essay "A New Perspective" is both heartwarming and heart wrenching,
an essay that stands out to me above the rest. This child spends all her time wishing that she had the family life of the children who surround her. The
family dinners, a parent who participates in volunteer days, a mom waiting at the end of that cold winter day to pick her up from school, to take her
home to a cup of warm hot cocoa. Rather, she has these memories, she feels pain and "cheated". After all the time that the narrator spent being ... Show

After reviewing this paper multiple times I can't help but feel the torment from both sides and want to bring them together. As a mother, it disheartens
me to picture this child longing the attention and affection of her mother and to wish for simple things that majority of us deliver to our children, often
without even thinking, whether that is giving hugs, kisses, mending a hurt knee, watching their sports team, tucking our kids into bed every night or
just sitting at the kitchen table watching them doing their homework. Simple things that this narrator could have only envisioned of. Then there is the
mother's perspective, wanting to cook supper for her family, run your children a bubble bath before reading bedtime stories, and tucking the children
in bed for the evening. Alternatively, having a million thoughts happening in your head as you lay as still as can be in an oversized bed confined to

My Experience Of Homecoming
Homecoming The first time I went back home after coming to college was a rollercoaster of emotions. After arriving home I was embraced with
open arms by my mom and dad. This was the first time I had seen them since being dropped off at college and I suddenly realized how much I
missed them. I called every so often but being in my own home being able to talk and with them was something I hadn't ever experienced. All of
my worries about homework and future exams were gone and I got to enjoy the company of my parents. At the beginning of college I constantly
felt like I couldn't be myself. Coming home these feelings vanished because I was surrounded by those who loved me. After spending a few hours
catching up, I went to reconnect with my high school friends. Seeing them I was flooded with nostalgia because these were the guys I had spent
my life getting to know. We sat around a campfire and talked all about our college experiences each with a different story. It felt surreal because
even in this short time I could tell everyone had changed. We all were more mature and in the little time we had grown slightly apart. This was hard
to admit but we all could tell. Throughout the campfire we shared stories and laughed at our experiences during our first few months of college.
Being back with friends was different because every so often we would text or snapchat our friends from college. You could tell we all appreciated
being back but we had made a new home at our colleges.

Love In Love And The Relationshipful Aspects Of Love
Throughout life, many individuals are blessed in certain aspects of their lives. These aspects could be in love, fortunes, or life itself. Although
people may be grateful for what they have it is common that they will take these great aspects for granted. When people take these important and
blessed aspects of their lives for granted it pisses me off. I have been fortunate enough to have a great life and I have been blessed in many ways. I
am always sure to appreciate the people, materials, and life I have. Unfortunately, I have seen people take their lives for granted, so it is my goal to
try and make these individuals realize the amazing lives they are blessed with. Relationships types vary with everyone. Some people cling to their
significant other while some prefer the distance. At times it can be hard to find that balance where both individuals are happy. This challenge in a
relationship could lead to poor communication and a lack of effort. Recently, I have stepped out of a four–year relationship because I had finally come
to realize how much I was being taken for granted and not appreciated. I was always the one to make plans or start the conversation or show the
affection that kept the relationship for granted. After I decided to end the relationship my significant other began to realize what he had lost. He
frequently made comments on how people do not realize what they have until it is gone and I found this to be very true in his case. Although what he

Strategies For Independence
5 Big Steps Parents Can Take To Help Their Kids Gain More Independence For Preschool From social skills to language skills and all kinds of
problem–solving techniques, your little one is in for some big learning when they enter a preschool program, but they could face challenges if the
haven't acquired enough independence. Although it's your paternal instinct to take care of and control everything in their developing lives,
independence is what's going to help them succeed and excel, once they're on their own in the classroom. Here are five important steps you can take to
encourage more independence, in the most caring and supportive way: 1. Raise The Bar With Your Expectations Expecting more from your child

As hard as it is to just stand by and watch your child, whether they're succeeding or not, they need that space to learn, evolve and experiment, or else
they're always going to be looking for you to rescue them. Entering any preschool program, your child won't have the luxury of constant individual
attention, meaning they will have no choice but to sink or swim. Since you want them to swim, start giving them room to self–resolve issues now,
while they still have you as a safety–net. Before long, they'll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to put on their thinking
caps, use patience and take matters into their own little hands. If it seems hard for you to cease the hoovering, just wait until you feel the total
exhilaration of watching your child accomplish something all on their own; it's such a breath–taking moment for parents, you'll automatically start
giving them more room to act independently in many instances. 3. Assign A Simple Job To Your Child You don't realize how much your child
depends on you for everything, until you ask them to do something on their own. They might look at you as if you're perfectly out of your mind or
they might even cry about the new task, but being a responsible, working member of a team in your house is going to go a long way toward helping
your child succeed in a busy classroom. Give them a simple job they must tend to daily, showering them with affection and praise when they accomplish

My Experience As An Outcasts
As a child, I had always been the outcast. I often found myself hiding in the bathroom during recess to avoid the embarrassment when kids
wouldn't let me play with them. During lunch I ate at a table with a group of kids who, with me, were rejected by the others. No one wanted me in
their cliques. My peers would make fun of me because I had a speech impediment or because I looked a lot chunkier than the average fourth grader.
Everyone avoided talking to me, unless they wanted to make fun of me. My teachers were my only friends, which made people poke fun at me
even more, calling me the "teachers pet". I will admit I seemed very awkward as a child, but regardless I was a child who felt abandoned and
worthless. I didn't look or talk how everyone else did. Because I looked different, I was rejected. As the years went by, I began working my way up
the social ladder. Probably only because I had surgery on my mouth and got braces, making me look the same as everyone else but, twelve year
old me was proud to have friends that other people thought of as popular. Too young to even realize, I held a grudge on behalf of the kids that made
fun of me and made me feel like an outcast. I treated others with the same disrespect that I had previously received. I was never rude to people to the
extent of what I suffered, regardless I didn't treat people the way they should have been treated. Never taking the time to actually listen to what others

A Sound Of Thunder Analysis
"A Sound of Thunder", by Ray Bradbury is a story which takes place at two different times, a future time and millions of years ago when dinosaurs
were around. In the story, Eckels goes in a time machine to see the past and makes the one little mistake of stepping out of the given path and killing a
butterfly that leads to a huge change to the present and his death. A theme or lesson in the story I noticed was, even the smallest actions have big
consequences.
In the beginning of the story, there was no place where this theme occurred, but there was a bit of foreshadowing of what was to come supporting
the theme. In the story there was a section of it that seemed to foreshadowed and said, "'We guarantee nothing,' said the official, 'except the
dinosaurs." He turned. 'This is Mr. Travis, your Safari Guide in the Past. He'll tell you what and where to shoot. If he says no shooting, no shooting.
If you disobey instructions, there's a stiff penalty of another ten thousand dollars, plus possible government action, on your return.'" This example from
the text supports my claim because, since the official even flat out said they do not guarantee anything and that if they shoot or kill something is not
supposed to be and that Eckels could get in trouble with the government and have to pay for the damage Eckels does. I think these things the official
is saying foreshadow that Eckels will do something wrong and that Eckels will have a penalty.
Towards the middle of the story, Travis

They both love the child but the couple still chose to end their relationship without considering how their child would feel. While he is still packing,
she notices the baby's picture lying on the bed then she picks it up. After that, she went back into the living room. Eventually, when he caught up to her
he said, "Bring it back" (page 35, handout from class).
With that information, neither parent wants the other parent to keep the picture of the baby. Both continue to be selfish and fail to consider or even
notice the baby's feeling of discomfort. Furthermore, the couple fights like Tom and Jerry over the picture of the baby. As though they were having a
presidential debate, they go back–and–forth trying to get a firm grip of their child. Tussling over the photograph, they wrestle from the living room to
the kitchen. Somewhere in their scuffle they knocked down a flowerpot that hung behind the stove (page 35, handout from class). Luckily the baby
was not stricken by the flowerpot that fell when the mother was trying to keep the baby from its father. "He crowded her into the wall then, trying to
break her grip. He held on to the baby and pushed with all his weight" "Let go of him, he said" "Don't, she said. You're hurting the baby, she said"

Speech On Self Confidence
Why Someone who is self–confident is self–assured about their abilities and who they are. It allows someone to come out of their shell. When
someone is confident in their abilities it is easier for them to share theses talents with others. It is something that can be learned from experiences and
believing in one's self. These people are not afraid to fail, they gain knowledge from it. Concertation is an important characteristic for an individual to
have, as it allows them to stay focused on what is important. When an individual pays attention to the little things, like what their friends/ family are
saying or their likes and dislikes this shows that the individual cares. When an individual focuses on the details, it makes people feel loved. These
individuals do not get distracted easily which allows them to accomplish task quickly and efficiently. Being an assertive person means that, one does
not let others take advantage of them. When some type of injustice is happening to themselves or others they step in and say something. They are not
a pushover, they know their limits. Being assertive is not like being rude it helps earn the respect of others. They are great at expressing their point of
view.
How
To teach a child self–confidence it is good to get them to view things in a positive light. Teach them to always think positively about themselves. To put
effort in their appearance, dressing nicely and staying groomed. Teach them the importance

Descriptive Essay On A Garden
I set off on a sunny Saturday morning with my dad to purchase 5 pots and a pack of wildflower seeds at my local garden store. The smell of fresh
and spring like air lifted me up a little as I strolled through the aisles. With my dad's experience of gardening, I brought him along to assist me and tell
me what is useful. After gathering all the necessary materials like soil, seeds, and pots I headed over to the cash register. I gave the cashier a $20 that I
made babysitting the day before.
I arrived home and started my assigned task. I had three weeks to finish my english project and I wanted to get started as soon as possible. A gentle
breeze picked up as I set up my materials on my back porch. I meticulously laid out the 5 pots, bag of fertile soil, flower seeds, and a shovel. Unsure of
where to begin, I called for my dad who was working in the front of the house. Ever since we build our house in 2011, he has landscaped and built a
garden every spring and summer. I used to help him pull weeds out of the garden and plant tomatoes in big huge painters buckets from Home Depot
that I painted green. Even my little brother and mom would come out and work in the garden and around the yard. The sun would beat down on us,
the birds sung songs, and my dog would be leashed up out back sunbathing in the sun while we worked.
My dad finally came around back and I asked him, "what do I do first again?" He began to explain that all I need to do is put the soil in the pots and

Helen Keller : A Woman Of Sheer Determination And Utter...
"Sometimes I have thought it would be an excellent rule to live each day as if we should die tomorrow" (Keller 1). These were the wise words
spoken from a woman who was blind and deaf, yet still impacted the world tremendously. Keller was strucken blind and deaf by the age of 19 months
old by a simplex virus that conducts a high temperature throughout the body. Nobody had any aspirations for her except one particular person. Helen
Keller was a woman of sheer determination and utter perseverance. Throughout the span of Helen Keller's life she was coached by a very strict
instructor, Anne Sullivan, who eventually guided Keller to be able to effectively communicate with people. Keller was able to feel certain
movements of the face to produce certain words and with sign language she was able to respond effectively. In Keller's text "Three Days to See" she
vividly describes the certain beauties of the world that she would like to capture within just three days. Keller also demonstrates that people with
marvelous abilities such as sight and hearing take them for granted. I connect with Keller's text on deeper level than most and have witnessed her
statements on a first hand account. My experience with Keller's "Three Days to See" has led me to believe that people should appreciate the little things
others do for them, value the little things in life, and never pass up the experience.
Before reading this text I had no former education on Keller, but after I read her work it

My Life At An Elusive Black Bear
A few years ago when I was younger, my father took me out one evening bear hunting. This evening was just like any other day because since I was
small my dad had taken me with him on many of his hunting adventures. We gathered all of our needed gear such as the cross–bow, the mono pod, and
our cushioned seats. Then we set off, leaving our comfort of home for a relaxing evening together. I was hoping to get a chance at an elusive blackbear.
Unknowingly, this day became one of the most memorable days in my life, for a small brown–haired reason. The wind was weaving its way
harmoniously through the treetops at sunset. It created a mystifying ambiance within the forest. The sun was gleaming through the tree branches,
leaving its last little slivers of warmth before dropping down below the hills for its lingering night's sleep. It almost seemed like a picturesque
dream all together with the hushed silence. After conversing about all of our potential hunting spots, we decided to go up the steep knob where we
had seen black bear sign before. We found a cozy spot right in front of an elongated stump. It was humid that evening. When we finally had reached
our desired area, we were warmer than the black top on a hot summer's day. We took a few heavy layers off before we sat down. This turned out great
because it provided some much–needed extra padding.
After we got settled in, we prepared for the certain places we suspected a bear would come from. There was a narrow overgrown

The Importance Of Life In Life
What is some things most people live life without enjoying? Most of the time, it is the small things in life. Many people go through life focusing
on a big grand picture but fail to enjoy the little moments in life that make them happy for just a second or will amuse them for awhile. In my
opinion if you live life worrying about what people think about you, or changing your lifestyle to fit in then you are not really enjoying life. I know
this to be true because when I first moved to Heath, I was trying to fit in with people and made myself more like them rather than show them who I
truly am. I realized quickly that if they didn't like me for me then they were not the people I should hang out with. When I got into highschool, I was
acting more like myself and was enjoying the little things that made me laugh or made others laugh. That ranged from being able to crack a joke
sometimes to even just enjoying the music in the library and dancing a little to have some fun. I really think that no matter what we do in life there
should always be some time to do things that are just fun and they don't have to be on a big scale of events.
One of the things I do is I compete in different athletic events and there are times that guys from the team will all go do something and I will just
take and go off on my own and sit and watch the world around me as I sit on my porch or even just sit in my living room, listening as the world
carries on. Something I know that I am guilty of is

Computer Science Class Analysis
In this class my goal was to learn how to better use the computer itself as well as understand how certain portions of the computer I often use work.
We had six assignments in this class this paper being the sixth and final aside from the extra credit. Overall I think there's various areas I could've
improved upon but I also believe my final page was done well showing that though I struggled through the middle portion of the assignments I
definitely took something away from this class. The first assignment was a step in the right direction for me. At my mother's home we have never
had a computer so school is the only place I truly used one. That being said learning how to design pages was not something I was really expecting
from this class, but overall though the first assignment was simple I believe I did it well. Obviously my grade on the assignment reflects that, and
the points I did miss were due to simply missing a number in a section of the page. This assignment as a whole had me excited for the class moving

previous assignments I just looked at both screens puzzled. Looking back now I could easily change my assignments up and receive far better grades by
doing things that I now understand. It'd be as simple as correctly inputting images, closing up header/footer/body sections, and using my lists
correctly. If I could've understood how to do that for the middle two assignments it'd have made my grade far better, but it also probably wouldn't have
been as rewarding once I saw assignment five and realized maybe I'm not as far off as I previously

Personal Narrative Essay : My Mother As A Little Mother
Mom's Wisdom
Since I was a little girl my mother always taught to be strong, but in a mannerly way. She had to grow up quite fast, because she was born into a
warzone, which made her very independent and strong at a young age. In our culture, it's unusual to have a friendship with your parents because it
should be more of a private relationship. Thankfully, my parents and I had an open relationship about everything and get to express my feelings without
having to hide them. For my mother, she witnessed things kids her age should not, she gone through things many did not, and she also suffered a lot
of pain and deaths of her loved ones. "I remember being so scared of my mother's corpse, and I had to ask myself why I was scared, the woman
lying there is my mother," she said as she was reminiscing about her mother's death. I wondered to myself of how it must have been for her; but she
continued on to tell me the story. "A few months later we lost your uncle and we didn't worry because we knew that mom was up there waiting for
him, but then we had your oldest brother and he died from an overdose on malaria vaccination when he was only seven months." Hearing her going
through that made me feel like I got stabbed in the chest. I just sat there and thought about how empty and lonely she must have felt during those
years. She later told me, "sometimes we lose the big things in our lives so that our eyes can open up to all the little things we take for granted." Anytime

Petco Experience Essay
I just wanted to write a short explanation of my experience and why I had decided to leave Petco on Wednesday afternoon. I also would like to

and helping customers. For a part time job that I really used to fill some time (and achieve the goals I have a little faster) it was enjoyable on the
surface. My frustration came to head yesterday when I had arrived to work around 4:25pm. The store was, at the time, not really busy but the only
person that was available to check out customers was the dog trainer. Who was attempting to prepare for her class that was going to begin at 5pm.

I lived in Salt Lake for one month. At the restaurant where I worked there was a wide variety of people. One of my friends had a mild case of
schizophrenia and was haunted by his inability to deal with reality. If he went into the grocery store and saw a group of people laughing and
joking, he automatically thought that they were laughing at him. As a result of his paranoia, he had a hard time making close friends and as a
result of that made himself an easy target for peer pressure. He would do anything at all to feel accepted by others, simply because he wanted so much
to be what he viewed as normal. Another guy I worked with there seemed like your average everyday Joe... UNTIL one day I saw him when he wasn't
at work. He had rings in several parts of his body, and was wearing a great deal of hardware over his leather clothes. I barely recognized him! I said
"Mac! Is that you?" He started laughing at me and said, "You should have seen me before I got my job. I used to have a blue Mohawk!" When I
asked him why he dressed that way and had blue hair he simply replied, "just to be different." I'm not so sure that making ourselves a target for peer
pressure or having blue hair and a pierced upper lip is what Buscaglia meant when he said we should take risks. I think more of what he was getting
at, is that we need to be ourselves. We need to stop wondering whether those

The Importance Of Identity
"Identity is not inherited. It is shaped by circumstance and sensitivity and resistance to self–pity." by Dorothy West. Identity is something that
throughout our history people have struggled with. Identity is such a big part of us. It is who we are, we are born with these identities whether
we know we are or not and over our life we change them or transform them for better or for worse. Identity is something that plays a big part in
"Who are you", "This is water", and "The Culture of Shut Up" because in the end all they give some lessons that are important to finding your
identity or about your identity in general. Finding your identity always comes with hardships but, in the end, there is always a lesson to be learned.
The first lesson learned was that throughout this unit was that we can not find who we are in objects. We have this idea that we can look or find our
identity in things like books, the internet, fame, or money when you can't, you find it from within yourself. In "Who Are You" by Andrey Voznesensky
he says "Who are you? Who? –You look with longing into books, windows– but where are you in the meanwhile?" (Vozneesensky line 26–27) This
means that people are looking or trying to find who they are in objects like said earlier and it is not possible I mean things like books, fame or
money might give to it but you can't find your identity in these things. That is something that takes time to find and something that you can't find
with looking through a book or anything. When doing this they are trying to take the shortcut or the easy way out when you can't because this not
something easy in the poem it says "You aim for the stars, but sweep the puddles." (Voznesensky line 17) People think that they can find answers
from doing things that you can't because no answer is going to be in there. Life is hard and so its understandable for wanting to find a way to make
it easier but this will only cause more problems. So they try their best they fail and then they lose focus it is a repeating cycle and one day it will
change and something will come to you but until that day you are going to sweep the puddles. It is important to know that you can't find your identity
in an object but it is also

As a first time college student studying Medical Office certificate, I thought that by finishing the certificate program I would be done with school in

Medical Office Certificate, that is where I find myself today.
Working towards finding a business that had room to take on an intern was a feat, but in the end, I had attained a job working as a Social Media and

of my life which I could never forget. It all began my sophomore year in high school. There was a summer exchange program in which I would be

Later in the trip we were scheduled to take a tour of Tokyo by bus. The group was excited because we were returning to where our destination

Insanity in a Sane World
Insanity in a Sane World Holden Caulfield is an insane person in a sane world. What is insanity? Insanity is when you're in a state of mind that
prevents normal perception, behavior or social interaction. This state is mental illness. Insanity is when you do things in deranged or outrageous
ways that could frighten people, or make people feel uncomfortable when around you. It's when you do things out of the ordinary; yet feel as if they
are ordinary. Insanity could come about when you're depressed, or after a traumatic event, and sometimes even by keeping all your feelings bottled up
inside of yourself. Sane people are sensible, reliable, well–adjusted and practice sound judgment. It's behavior that is expected in a society. By these...

Personal Narrative: Balancing Between School And Work
Growing up in Chester, I'm constantly underestimated, and that's when I strive. Where I live, assumptions of the worst kind are always made, so

What Is Looking And Seeing In Raymond Carver's Cathedral
Looking or Seeing Making prejudgments about someone can give you a very wrong understanding of a person. In "Cathedral" by Raymond
Carver, the narrator is not fond of having his wife's blind friend over to stay at his home. He makes rude comments and makes jokes about blind
people even though he does not know anything about a blind person, just things he has seen in movies. Something one can take from "Cathedral" is
that there is a difference between looking and seeing and the difference can make or break you as a person. Looking is having the regular normal
vision, while seeing is more deep, caring, and understanding. In the beginning of "Cathedral", the narrator proves that he only has the ability to look. He
only looks at blind people because he states, "All the blind move slower, never laughed, were sometimes led by dogs, could never make a woman
happy, and could never live a normal life." As soon as Robert arrives and even before speaking to him, the narrator only looks at him because he
immediately goes to his preconceptions and assumes he is better than Robert is because he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator first tried explaining what a cathedral looked like to the blind man, which showed his ability to see things because it was horrible and
he could not do it, just like trying to see more than the surface of his wife. While the narrator is doing his terrible explanation of a cathedral, it shows
Roberts's ability to see because even though the description is bad he is very patient and listens and tries to picture one. Once they start drawing the
cathedral Robert tells the narrator to close his eyes and draw. When the narrator does that, he feels what Robert feels and he begins to understand that
even though Robert physically cannot see the drawing he can still picture what it looks like by seeing beneath the surface of the description and using

No Control At All By Jack
This child, lets call him, Jack. With no control at all, Jack was fortunate enough to be born into high–income country, like New Zealand Then there's,
Jill. With the same amount of control as Jack, he added to the total of 10,368 children born into poverty a day. That's one child, every 1.2 seconds
Jack has a 1 in 165 chance of dying before he's 5. Jill on the other hand is not so lucky and the odds of him reaching his 5th birthday are 1 in 6.
Everyone was born into and are living in circumstances that they haven't chosen, it's not something we can change, we just have to live with it. It's
something that has a huge impact and often determines the direction of our lives. We can't choose whether we were born into rich family or a
poor family. We can't choose if we're black or white, male or female, disabled or not disabled, tall or short, intelligent or not. These are things that
don't fully define who we are but they do often influence how people may see you. Imagine if someone like Kate Sheppard was born into poverty,
her fight for women 's rights might not have been prioritised because she had to focus on her own survival. And even if they that did seem important,
her education would probably have been very limited. Education for females in some third world countries is frowned upon because they don't believe
in educating women. Or what if Usain Bolt was born with cerebral palsy, affecting the part of the brain that controls legs, we'd have a new world
champion sprinter.

My Autobiography
As a kid, I was always extremely talkative. So talkative that teachers would get on to me. Teachers would say so many different things to me, but I
never let it bother me. The most common thing they would say would be like,"Kate, quit talking and go move to a different seat."
Usually, I would respond back with,"Okay" in an annoyed tone, because all I wanted to do was talk. I would still find a way to talk to someone else,
but after a while, I would hear my teacher say my name again.
"Kate this is your last chance to quit talking or else you're going to the office or I'm going to be calling your mom," they would say.
"Okay," I would quietly respond back.
Throughout the years as I go little older I started caring about the little things people would say about me. Like one of the little things that would
bother me was when some of my friends or even some classmate would point out how I have an accent, or how I would do things differently than
them. I became very subconscious about my speaking every single time I would talk because I felt like everyone would be paying close attention to it.
I didn't realize that as a kid that having an accent would be that noticeable to others. Suddenly my life took a turn when I entered 5th grade. It
started out great. I had a few friends that I could communicate and hang out with, but as weeks gone by I started to become like a closed door. I rarely
said a word to any of my friends. The most I would have talked was probably a sentence or two

An Unforgettable Grandma

  • 1. An Unforgettable Grandma An Unforgettable Grandma Some people have grandparents, and others don't. I am so incredibly blessed to have a grandma that is so caring in my life. Unfortunately, I don't get to see this loving person very often. She lives in Canada alongside the rest of my family. When I lived in Michigan my parents, brother, and I owned a trailer in Canada that we would go to all the time. In 2012, we moved to Ohio, so we had to sell the trailer. My grandma comes to visit us around three times a year, and we go down to see her on some holidays. I have grown to appreciate her more and more. I hear a lot of people say they love their grandparents, so I ask them, "Why?" I get many responses like, "They give me the best Christmas presents!" or "They make really good food!" My grandma does this, too, but there's so much more than that. She teaches me how to speak with love, encourages me to put in effort, and helps me realize that the little things matter. "I don't understand why he's being so mean to me. I hate him!" Emma exclaimed. Emma is my cousin who was once telling my grandma about a person she hates. I was sitting in the kitchen with them as she told the story. As she went on, her voice got louder, and louder. She finally reached the pinnacle of her voice, and just broke down. I remember thinking at this moment that if she were talking to me, I would have no idea how to respond to her. My grandma, however, knew exactly what to do. She never once raised her voice. She tried to calm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Perspective Changes with Age As a person ages, their perspective on life changes. A person eventually develops the ability to analyze, understand the importance of lack thereof of things, and not take offense at all the little things in life. Your perspective also changes through the dropping of preconceived ideas and by experiencing new situations. As you age, your ability to analyze a particular situation develops drastically. When you are young, you think that there is one plain cut, simple, black and white answer, but as you get older you realize there are many sides to almost everything. Eventually, people realize that there can be a "yes" and a "no" answer to questions and that more than one person can be right in an argument. As you get older, you begin to understand the importance or lack thereof of things. When you are an adolescent, you blow things way out of proportion. Kids act as though not being invited to the most recent birthday party is the most important thing. When you are older you realize that it is more important to be financially secure, have a home and be safe. You also realize that you don't need the latest model of the iPhone, or other technological device as long as the necessary items you have work. As you become an adult, you begin to understand that we do not need to take offense at all the small things in life. A person begins to understand that one person's negative comment towards them is not all that detrimental to them on a large scale. If someone says that your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About My Grandmother My grandmother was a tough lady. At just over five feet tall, she was the kind of woman that you saw on the street and knew to move out of her way. Her demeanor was strict, her hands tied with thick blue veins, crissВcrossing over her thin, frail fingers. I remember holding her hands as a child, how delicate and soft they seemed and yet that never made them seem any less worn or sturdy. Her hands told stories of different times, of different worlds and hardships. She had grown up worlds away from me, in a different land, at a different time, in an era and a life that I would never know. My grandmother had stories. But, she never told stories. Her stories were in the way she ate – she savored her food, cherished it. Often she would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was seldom outwardly affectionate. She didn't need to be. When I wrapped my arms around her small frame, afraid I would break her, she responded with a strength disproportionate to her size. She held tightly, like she was holding on for dear life, and then she let go, she smiled and she moved on. My grandmother was an intelligent woman. She had little schooling, but she had run businesses. She had managed on her own, with a husband and sons, in a country that didn't care for her or her culture, but only for their aggrandized version of it. Her experiences were rightful cause to be jaded and hard, and yet she saw brightness and she saw brightness in me. She saw the great things in life, she loved hard and appreciated the little things – us going for a walk together or just sitting in the sun on a warm day. My grandmother's stories were in her complaints.
  • 4. My grandmother complained about petty things: things that I would complain about. But she never complained about life and she never complained about pain. My grandmother had developed a brain tumor, which when removed, removed much of her immediate memory. For a long time, she didn't remember my name. She had no idea who I was. But she tried and she learned. She understood perseverance and the importance of people and she carried on against all odds. The last time I spoke to her, she knew exactly who I was, despite ... • 5. Adventure Of Passing High School Adventure. A three syllable, nine letter word; greek origin and has the definition that quotes "An unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity". Adventures are the exploration of something new and they usually hold valuable life lessons. They teach you something important so you can learn from the experience. Young or old, naive or wise, idiotic or intelligent, anything can happen to you at any given time in life. You can experience almost anything. In life we make many decisions and when we act on those decisions, we make new outcomes for ourselves. It's all apart of the adventure. You could have the adventure of passing high school to the adventure of traveling the globe. The sky's the limit and you've got the whole... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every year something new, something exciting comes up, but you never know what it is. Anything could be hit or miss and it's all based on the decisions you make. My first decision was to talk to the new kid at our table. He seemed lonely or like he didn't wanna be there; I really couldn't tell. I wouldn't like being in a new school, after all, that was me a couple years back. There's this certain kind of drawing feeling that pulls you to something, like looking at a new shiny toy and knowing that was the one you wanted for Christmas. It's happened plenty of times with friends, material items, or even any random thing. This time, it was different. It was the drawing feeling that made you wanna scream on the top of your lungs with excitement and shy away because you're too embarrassed to do anything. It fuels you with so many different emotions and drives you insane. After talking to the new kid for some time, we got to know each other. We went out like normal friends do. Bowling, movies, parks, you name it; we did it. It was just a matter of time before we became something more. October 15th, 2014 was the day, an extraordinary day at that. And from then on, we were two slap happy teenagers with a lot of fun ahead of us. You begin to realize more and more things as time goes on and you learn and grow from them. In something like our own in a short amount of time we learned trust, communication, and to let loose. We did everything we could possibly think of. We ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My mother is someone who is very sweet and would do anything for her kids as well as her family to make sure they are happy and smiling. As I started to grow up and started to go out and be more independent that is when I started to realize what an impact my mom has on my life. Growing up my parents were divorced and my mom was the one who basically raised me on her own. She showed me right from wrong and guided me and pushed me to do the right things in life and strive for success. As I grew up my mom was always right by my side and accepted my dreams and wanted me to go out and pursue every dream I have. And now looking back at everything my mom has taught me I can't thank her enough! Because without my mom pushing me to succeed, being there for me when times were tough and being a forgiving person I would not be where I am today. My mother's name is Heather and she is 38 years old. My mother and I look like sisters. She has dark brown hair, brown eyes how ever the only difference is she is only five feet tall! • 7. I Have Gone At Camp At the end of every night of church camp, there is a campfire. Your sit around it with all of your friends as you become mesmerized by looking out in the night sky at millions of stars, and listening to the crackling of the fire. You become content as time stops. For that short hour every night the world is telling you that everything will be ok, just breathe. Then you realize what is right in front of you. I have gone to camp for nine years now and this past year on July 1st, 2015 the campfire changed my life. This year at camp instead of being a camper my best friend Julia and I decided that we were going to help cook for camp. This gave us the opportunity to go to camp, and make a little bit of money to save up for college. It was dark by time we got out of the kitchen and we went and got our coats and headed down to the campfire. We saw our friends Kent and Brody. They saved us a seat in the front row, so we ran down and sat beside them. Once everyone was there we started by singing songs. These songs were not normal. We sang loud to the "King of Kings and Lord of Lords." We danced, we sang, and we all had smiles on our faces. Then came the slow songs. We swayed back and forth side by side and sang from the heart. My favorite song we sang was Sanctuary because it was the song where I was thanking the Lord for my life, and where I could think back and see what God has done for me. After we got done singing all of these songs we sat down, got comfortable. As Hannah, one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Little Things When you're not paying close attention to all of the good things that can happen to you throughout the day, you don't really notice how many small things there are that can have a positive effect. Small things on their own aren't much, but when you start to add them up they can become something huge. For instance, playing fetch with my Labrador Buddy, or giving in to that craving of chocolate and enjoying every bite are very small things in the grand scheme of things, but take either out of my life and it would be a tragedy. Every once in a while something happens that is clearly a big good thing, but they don't happen often enough to really get you through that daily grind. For instance, my mom recently celebrated her 70th birthday... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are things that are small on the surface, but if they went away they would be pretty big. If suddenly you have a health scare and are hanging on to your life, something like having a good meal would seem pretty huge. If somebody you loved were to die, suddenly those hugs that you used to share with them every day would linger over you and the lack of their presence would be one of the saddest things in your life. The small things are really the big things because they reflect what truly matters to you. I have a very busy life and not everyday do I think about and appreciate having a simple phone conversation with a friend, getting a much–needed hug from my boyfriend, or even just spending time with my niece, but these are the things that would feel crippling if they went away. By doing this experiment I learned that people generally focus too much on the negative things in the world and end up making themselves feel like victims. And they don't pay enough attention to the little things in the world that add up to make for a life that's worth living. People love to recall all of the bad things that happen to them throughout the day, but really things don't happen to people, things just happen. There are probably an equal amount of good things and bad things, so the trick to getting through life and making yourself happy is to control how you respond to the world. If you focus on the bad and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Becoming A Teacher : My Experience In The Classroom Today when I got to school, I took time to walk around and talk to students about their weekends. Mrs. Prioreschi is big on letting kids express themselves and share things, and this time is perfect for allowing them to do that. After they got settled, I played their morning show on the computer for students to watch. Computer class was next and they were in a new programming software called coding with legos. I got taught how to complete a full set so could help students when they run into obstacles along the way. When we got back to the classroom, they got to have a mental brain break. This is where students stand up and mirror a dance to a song the teacher projects. It was so much fun because I got to see student's personalities come out through this. ––––– When I was young, my ambition was always to be a teacher but that slowly faded through the years. I took this class to see if it would spark something inside of me again that I had lost and the lightbulb definitely flashed today. When I walked into the classroom, a student who I would least expect it from, came over and gave me hand written, two page, note that talked about how great of a teacher I am going to be one day and how much they appreciated me. This is the reason behind everything. It's the little things that counts the most. Teaching and being in the classroom is so much more enjoyable when you know they are supporters of you. • 10. My Mentor Essay Whenever someone hears about a mentor, the image of a teacher or a guidance counselor automatically pop up into their head. The image of a mentor is often mistaken as a person of higher authority, however, this is not always the case. They are more than the individual you may confide in or ask for direction in times of need, your mentor is your friend. The entire time while I was reading the poem, My Mentor, My Friend, all that kept reoccurring were flashbacks to memories with close friends of mine. That's what struck me the most, the fact that it is okay to be able to complete both jobs. This poem changed my perspectives each time I reread it, every single read, I experience it differently. Through the poem, my goal was to obtain three ideas from the passage and take those and incorporate them into my own life, along with my experiences. The first point I chose revolved around the welcoming arms of a friend, to the acceptance of one another. In response to this, the first memory that came to mind was meeting my best friend. • 11. My Childhood Experience In Childhood When growing up, I recall having a decent childhood before entering elementary school, I was a joyful child. I never really cared much about others or what they said about me, all I ever wanted was to have fun. My parents would describe me as a very hyper child who was always laughing. It seemed that even in the worst situations my hyper activity and laughter could never stop. One time at the airport, I was running around way too much and playing with other people's luggage. My mother chased me all around the airport until she caught me. She ended up tying me to a chair. Even after being tied up, I was still squirming in my seat until our flight was called. It wasn't until I entered elementary school, things began to change and, sadly, this wasn't for the better. I remember as if it were yesterday, it was the beginning of the school year and I had started kindergarten. For my first time in school, I had adjusted quite well and even made my first best friend, her name was Lisa. After lunch, all the kindergartners began to line up for recess, once we reached the playground everyone scattered off and did their own thing. 20 minutes into recess, Lisa and I decide to play hide and go seek. As she began to count backward from 10 to 0, I quickly ran and hid behind slides and little did I know that I would later regret this decision. While hiding behind the slides, I heard a group of girls giggling and being the type kid I was I wanted to laugh too, but right before my little feet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Analysis Of Trifles By Susan Glaspell The time and setting tell a lot about what a story and its underlying meaning can represent to each character individually and together. In the short play "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell, readers and viewers are taken back to a period that is a lot different than the current. From the surroundings, viewpoints of each sex and their assigned roles in the society all gave a greater understanding of what was portrayed and how it was essentially handled. Trifles started with the Sheriff and his wife Mrs. Peters, Mr. Hale and Mrs. Hale and the County Attorney entering the home of the deceased Mr. Wright. Hale because he was dead. They found him lying on his bed with a rope around his neck and rushed to alert the coroner. From there, the play begins to expand beyond the case when the group arrives at the home searching for clues and indications. While the men look around for bold indication of why this happened, the women looked around at the smaller details of the home and tried to relate to the wife. As the men looked around the kitchen they concluded there was "nothing here but kitchen things". as they went on to search through her cupboards making remarks about her worrying about her preserves while being held for murder. They went on to discuss that women are used to worrying about trifles and what we would do without them. The way the men spoke about women made it clear that they believe that the women were only good for housework and worrying about the little things such as kitchen work. throughout the discussion, the two other women huddled closer together as if forming a bond as the men discuss their daily work as if it is merely little to nothing. As the men went on to looking upstairs, Mrs. Hale continued her views on the men invasion of Mrs. Wright home while collecting some clothes for Mrs. Wright who was in holding. As the women conversed and walked around the house, the women began to connect with each other and with Mrs. Wright as Mrs. Hale discussed the type of woman she was in the earlier years and how it all changed after she was married. • 13. Reflective Essay On Physical Therapy I was referred from the Children's Hospital outpatient physical therapy, where I was the only one not in diapers, to the Lakeshore Foundation for people with lifelong disabilities, where I was somehow still the only one not in diapers. I showed up for my first day of aquatic physical therapy wearing a new bikini that somehow managed to stay on my emaciated frame , but as I entered the pool it became clear that I had apparently missed the memo that we all had to roll up to the function donning the latest in Victorian–era geriatric swimwear fit for a cloister. I quickly figured out that I was not exactly their target demographic or typical patient. This was followed by the even more brutal realization that I was on the same blood pressure and arthritis medications as all the grandpas moving at a speed of 1 step per minute on the treadmills next to me. I was left wondering where all the cool young people with arthritis hang out, because clearly it wasn't there. I know I'm joking around about this, but being a teenager with disabling illness is a painfully isolating experience. I used to think I was invincible. I wish that that were true. But the reality is that it as you descend into complex medical blackhole, life moves on without you. While your peers are creating relationships and gaining their independence, yours is being stripped away leaving you dispossessed and quite frankly, angry. I have missed out on a lot. Essay On A New Perspective "To what degree can the narrator 's choices and actions influence the direction her life will take, it will depend on the narrator because it will be the choices she will make that will break the pattern that was started with her." The essay "A New Perspective" is both heartwarming and heart wrenching, an essay that stands out to me above the rest. This child spends all her time wishing that she had the family life of the children who surround her. The family dinners, a parent who participates in volunteer days, a mom waiting at the end of that cold winter day to pick her up from school, to take her home to a cup of warm hot cocoa. After reviewing this paper multiple times I can't help but feel the torment from both sides and want to bring them together. As a mother, it disheartens me to picture this child longing the attention and affection of her mother and to wish for simple things that majority of us deliver to our children, often without even thinking, whether that is giving hugs, kisses, mending a hurt knee, watching their sports team, tucking our kids into bed every night or just sitting at the kitchen table watching them doing their homework. Simple things that this narrator could have only envisioned of. Then there is the mother's perspective, wanting to cook supper for her family, run your children a bubble bath before reading bedtime stories, and tucking the children in bed for the evening. Alternatively, having a million thoughts happening in your head as you lay as still as can be in an oversized bed confined to your bedroom, heartbroken, trusting your children are ok, safe, feed, and content. • 15. My Experience Of Homecoming Homecoming The first time I went back home after coming to college was a rollercoaster of emotions. After arriving home I was embraced with open arms by my mom and dad. This was the first time I had seen them since being dropped off at college and I suddenly realized how much I missed them. I called every so often but being in my own home being able to talk and with them was something I hadn't ever experienced. All of my worries about homework and future exams were gone and I got to enjoy the company of my parents. At the beginning of college I constantly felt like I couldn't be myself. Coming home these feelings vanished because I was surrounded by those who loved me. After spending a few hours catching up, I went to reconnect with my high school friends. Seeing them I was flooded with nostalgia because these were the guys I had spent my life getting to know. We sat around a campfire and talked all about our college experiences each with a different story. It felt surreal because even in this short time I could tell everyone had changed. We all were more mature and in the little time we had grown slightly apart. This was hard to admit but we all could tell. Throughout the campfire we shared stories and laughed at our experiences during our first few months of college. Being back with friends was different because every so often we would text or snapchat our friends from college. You could tell we all appreciated being back but we had made a new home at our colleges. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although people may be grateful for what they have it is common that they will take these great aspects for granted. When people take these important and blessed aspects of their lives for granted it pisses me off. I have been fortunate enough to have a great life and I have been blessed in many ways. I am always sure to appreciate the people, materials, and life I have. Unfortunately, I have seen people take their lives for granted, so it is my goal to try and make these individuals realize the amazing lives they are blessed with. Relationships types vary with everyone. Some people cling to their significant other while some prefer the distance. At times it can be hard to find that balance where both individuals are happy. This challenge in a relationship could lead to poor communication and a lack of effort. Recently, I have stepped out of a four–year relationship because I had finally come to realize how much I was being taken for granted and not appreciated. I was always the one to make plans or start the conversation or show the affection that kept the relationship for granted. After I decided to end the relationship my significant other began to realize what he had lost. He frequently made comments on how people do not realize what they have until it is gone and I found this to be very true in his case. Although what he was saying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Strategies For Independence 5 Big Steps Parents Can Take To Help Their Kids Gain More Independence For Preschool From social skills to language skills and all kinds of problem–solving techniques, your little one is in for some big learning when they enter a preschool program, but they could face challenges if the haven't acquired enough independence. Although it's your paternal instinct to take care of and control everything in their developing lives, independence is what's going to help them succeed and excel, once they're on their own in the classroom. Here are five important steps you can take to encourage more independence, in the most caring and supportive way: 1. As hard as it is to just stand by and watch your child, whether they're succeeding or not, they need that space to learn, evolve and experiment, or else they're always going to be looking for you to rescue them. Entering any preschool program, your child won't have the luxury of constant individual attention, meaning they will have no choice but to sink or swim. Since you want them to swim, start giving them room to self–resolve issues now, while they still have you as a safety–net. Before long, they'll understand that if they want some problems solved, they have to put on their thinking caps, use patience and take matters into their own little hands. If it seems hard for you to cease the hoovering, just wait until you feel the total exhilaration of watching your child accomplish something all on their own; it's such a breath–taking moment for parents, you'll automatically start giving them more room to act independently in many instances. 3. Assign A Simple Job To Your Child You don't realize how much your child depends on you for everything, until you ask them to do something on their own. They might look at you as if you're perfectly out of your mind or they might even cry about the new task, but being a responsible, working member of a team in your house is going to go a long way toward helping your child succeed in a busy classroom. I often found myself hiding in the bathroom during recess to avoid the embarrassment when kids wouldn't let me play with them. During lunch I ate at a table with a group of kids who, with me, were rejected by the others. No one wanted me in their cliques. My peers would make fun of me because I had a speech impediment or because I looked a lot chunkier than the average fourth grader. Everyone avoided talking to me, unless they wanted to make fun of me. My teachers were my only friends, which made people poke fun at me even more, calling me the "teachers pet". I will admit I seemed very awkward as a child, but regardless I was a child who felt abandoned and worthless. I didn't look or talk how everyone else did. Because I looked different, I was rejected. As the years went by, I began working my way up the social ladder. • 20. A Sound Of Thunder Analysis "A Sound of Thunder", by Ray Bradbury is a story which takes place at two different times, a future time and millions of years ago when dinosaurs were around. In the story, Eckels goes in a time machine to see the past and makes the one little mistake of stepping out of the given path and killing a butterfly that leads to a huge change to the present and his death. A theme or lesson in the story I noticed was, even the smallest actions have big consequences. In the beginning of the story, there was no place where this theme occurred, but there was a bit of foreshadowing of what was to come supporting the theme. In the story there was a section of it that seemed to foreshadowed and said, "'We guarantee nothing,' said the official, 'except the dinosaurs." He turned. 'This is Mr. Travis, your Safari Guide in the Past. He'll tell you what and where to shoot. If he says no shooting, no shooting. If you disobey instructions, there's a stiff penalty of another ten thousand dollars, plus possible government action, on your return.'" This example from the text supports my claim because, since the official even flat out said they do not guarantee anything and that if they shoot or kill something is not supposed to be and that Eckels could get in trouble with the government and have to pay for the damage Eckels does. I think these things the official is saying foreshadow that Eckels will do something wrong and that Eckels will have a penalty. Towards the middle of the story, Travis ... We gathered all of our needed gear such as the cross–bow, the mono pod, and our cushioned seats. Then we set off, leaving our comfort of home for a relaxing evening together. I was hoping to get a chance at an elusive blackbear. Unknowingly, this day became one of the most memorable days in my life, for a small brown–haired reason. After conversing about all of our potential hunting spots, we decided to go up the steep knob where we had seen black bear sign before. We found a cozy spot right in front of an elongated stump. It was humid that evening. When we finally had reached our desired area, we were warmer than the black top on a hot summer's day. We took a few heavy layers off before we sat down. • 28. The Importance Of Life In Life What is some things most people live life without enjoying? Most of the time, it is the small things in life. Many people go through life focusing on a big grand picture but fail to enjoy the little moments in life that make them happy for just a second or will amuse them for awhile. In my opinion if you live life worrying about what people think about you, or changing your lifestyle to fit in then you are not really enjoying life. I know this to be true because when I first moved to Heath, I was trying to fit in with people and made myself more like them rather than show them who I truly am. I realized quickly that if they didn't like me for me then they were not the people I should hang out with. I'm not so sure that making ourselves a target for peer pressure or having blue hair and a pierced upper lip is what Buscaglia meant when he said we should take risks. I think more of what he was getting at, is that we need to be ourselves. We need to stop wondering whether those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Importance Of Identity "Identity is not inherited. It is shaped by circumstance and sensitivity and resistance to self–pity." by Dorothy West. Identity is something that throughout our history people have struggled with. Identity is such a big part of us. It is who we are, we are born with these identities whether we know we are or not and over our life we change them or transform them for better or for worse. Identity is something that plays a big part in "Who are you", "This is water", and "The Culture of Shut Up" because in the end all they give some lessons that are important to finding your identity or about your identity in general. Finding your identity always comes with hardships but, in the end, there is always a lesson to be learned. The first lesson learned was that throughout this unit was that we can not find who we are in objects. We have this idea that we can look or find our identity in things like books, the internet, fame, or money when you can't, you find it from within yourself. In "Who Are You" by Andrey Voznesensky he says "Who are you? Who? –You look with longing into books, windows– but where are you in the meanwhile?" (Vozneesensky line 26–27) This means that people are looking or trying to find who they are in objects like said earlier and it is not possible I mean things like books, fame or money might give to it but you can't find your identity in these things. That is something that takes time to find and something that you can't find with looking through a book or anything. When doing this they are trying to take the shortcut or the easy way out when you can't because this not something easy in the poem it says "You aim for the stars, but sweep the puddles." (Voznesensky line 17) People think that they can find answers from doing things that you can't because no answer is going to be in there. Life is hard and so its understandable for wanting to find a way to make it easier but this will only cause more problems. So they try their best they fail and then they lose focus it is a repeating cycle and one day it will change and something will come to you but until that day you are going to sweep the puddles. It is important to know that you can't find your identity in an object but it is also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Graduation Speech : Becoming A Double Major As a first time college student studying Medical Office certificate, I thought that by finishing the certificate program I would be done with school in general, but as I continued on with my classes in the summer and fall I found myself thinking about becoming a double major. While working through the inner debate of being a double major or not it was clear it would be in my best interest to do both a Business Administration degree and Medical Office Certificate, that is where I find myself today. Working towards finding a business that had room to take on an intern was a feat, but in the end, I had attained a job working as a Social Media and Marketing intern at a local Jazz Radio station. At first I thought that possibly this would be a horrible fit, but as the time went on I found myself enjoying the people around me, learning new things, and the over atmosphere of being in a business that truly enjoyed every little thing that they did. While they are a Non Profit station they still do allot to give back to the surrounding community itself, by collecting instrument donations for local schools and even accepting old vehicles that listeners are looking to dispose of. They have helped to bring awareness to up and coming artists as well as some that have been around a time or two. While working for WICN I had the opportunity to work on tasks that I have never been presented with before. Some of the things I found myself working with weekly and even daily, sometimes ... • 35. The Little Things As people we all strive to see the better picture that is the world around us. Many go their whole lives and never see the wonders that the world can provide them. Well, I've had one such chance. I've been to a place, commonly know as the land of the rising sun, and yes it was an amazing episode of my life which I could never forget. It all began my sophomore year in high school. There was a summer exchange program in which I would be able to travel to my sister city in Chichibu, Japan. I was excited beyond all recognition. I went through all the motions of such an opportunity: writing essays, commissioning letters of recommendation, and having a sit–down one–on–one interview. After all this I would be notified in eight weeks if I was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the six hours, which felt like ten, due to all the pit stops, and insane traffic, we arrived at town hall well after 11 pm. Upon arrival it seemed as if the city was asleep, but as we turned into the gates a loud roar could be heard. There our host families and guests were cheering with noise makers, fireworks, and their voices. As we evacuated the bus, we met another person, a woman name Naomi. Naomi was a young college student who has participated in the Sister City program four years ago, and was going to be our liaison between America and Japan. Some of the few things I could say about Naomi was that she spoke perfect English and seemed to be a lovely young woman. Both Mr. Sakurai and Naomi introduced us to our host families and told us how long we would be interred with each (it turns out we were a hot commodity in Japan). I would be staying with Ms. Rumiko Noriyama, her son Hideki, and her daughter Ritsuko for my whole two weeks stay. At long last I was going "home". Later in the trip we were scheduled to take a tour of Tokyo by bus. The group was excited because we were returning to where our destination began, but this time we would be able to see more of it. We were to arrive at town hall by 6am to check in because the bus was scheduled to leave at 6:30. Mr. Sakurai and Naomi introduced Ms. Sue Brooke, as Mr. Davis's replacement. • 36. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Looking back, there were a lot of things that made more sense following my diagnosis with Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome, commonly referred to as EDS. This is a rare genetic condition separated into six different types; Classical, Hypermobility, Vascular, Kyphoscoliosis, Arthrochalasia, amd Dermatospraxis. There are varying degrees of symptoms and seriousness but a common thread is the defect in the collagen proteins which allow the skin, joints, connective tissues, and organs to function properly. EDS can also lead to many other unrelated diseases or disorders due to the malfunction in the body. The varying types and degrees in which EDS manifests itself makes getting a diagnoses difficult, especially at a young age.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After these findings she pulled my mom aside and talked about a disorder she believed I could have. There is no cure, nor any medical treatment that can help. • 37. Insanity in a Sane World Insanity in a Sane World Holden Caulfield is an insane person in a sane world. What is insanity? Insanity is when you're in a state of mind that prevents normal perception, behavior or social interaction. This state is mental illness. Insanity is when you do things in deranged or outrageous ways that could frighten people, or make people feel uncomfortable when around you. It's when you do things out of the ordinary; yet feel as if they are ordinary. Insanity could come about when you're depressed, or after a traumatic event, and sometimes even by keeping all your feelings bottled up inside of yourself. Sane people are sensible, reliable, well–adjusted and practice sound judgment. It's behavior that is expected in a society. By these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Antolini was trying to hinder him from going down the wrong path. Holden focuses on the little details like the gasoline rainbows in the puddles on the street and which suitcase is nicer. He overlooks the obvious, "big picture" which could better help him adjust and focuses instead on little, often–insignificant things he can handle. Moreover, Holden only pays attention to the things he's interested in and doesn't pay attention to the teachers or work given at school. This lack of interest has caused him to drop out of four schools and, therefore missing out on knowledge necessary for his well–being and self–discipline. Holden does not like change. Holden needs change, he needs to grow up. He needs to change his thoughts and behavior. Holden says "Certain things should stay the way they are, you ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone (122)." Finally, Holden's overly judgmental and critical. When he sees someone he automatically judges the person because they aren't in his perfect fantasy. In the bar he points out the "flits" (gay people) and, he thinks that his old roommate Dick Slagle has a inferiority complex just because he didn't put his suitcases on out to show when Holden did. Holden thinks of Mr. Haas (his "phony" headmaster) as someone "[shakes] hands with them and [gives] them a phony smile (14)." • 38. Personal Narrative: Balancing Between School And Work Growing up in Chester, I'm constantly underestimated, and that's when I strive. Where I live, assumptions of the worst kind are always made, so imagine their shock when I show how exceptional I am. I'm a cool person, who enjoys having fun, but I also know when to draw the line. Like anyone else, I've had my fair share of phases, but I turned out alright. Balancing between school, work, and having fun is a little troublesome at times, although its senior life and I expected nothing less. Being a hard–working and dedicated individual is what helps me remain focused. Nothing in life comes easily and I learned that pretty quickly. If you want something you have to work hard, stay true to yourself and prevail. My family, friends, and teachers have all had a hand in making sure I never forget that. Not many people I know has gone to college, which makes me want to go even more. By doing so, in my own way, I think I'd be setting an example for the youth and... In life, all I want is to be able to help my family out and finally be able to give back to my community in a significant way. I've always helped out since a child, being a part of community programs, but I know I could do so much more. That's one of many reasons I'm writing this paper. To take a step forward in the right direction encouraging other to follow my lead. This way, we could all give back. • 39. What Is Looking And Seeing In Raymond Carver's Cathedral Looking or Seeing Making prejudgments about someone can give you a very wrong understanding of a person. In "Cathedral" by Raymond Carver, the narrator is not fond of having his wife's blind friend over to stay at his home. He makes rude comments and makes jokes about blind people even though he does not know anything about a blind person, just things he has seen in movies. Something one can take from "Cathedral" is that there is a difference between looking and seeing and the difference can make or break you as a person. Looking is having the regular normal vision, while seeing is more deep, caring, and understanding. In the beginning of "Cathedral", the narrator proves that he only has the ability to look. He only looks at blind people because he states, "All the blind move slower, never laughed, were sometimes led by dogs, could never make a woman happy, and could never live a normal life." As soon as Robert arrives and even before speaking to him, the narrator only looks at him because he immediately goes to his preconceptions and assumes he is better than Robert is because he ... While the narrator is doing his terrible explanation of a cathedral, it shows Roberts's ability to see because even though the description is bad he is very patient and listens and tries to picture one. Once they start drawing the cathedral Robert tells the narrator to close his eyes and draw. When the narrator does that, he feels what Robert feels and he begins to understand that even though Robert physically cannot see the drawing he can still picture what it looks like by seeing beneath the surface of the description and using a creative ... • 40. No Control At All By Jack This child, lets call him, Jack. With no control at all, Jack was fortunate enough to be born into high–income country, like New Zealand Then there's, Jill. With the same amount of control as Jack, he added to the total of 10,368 children born into poverty a day. That's one child, every 1.2 seconds Jack has a 1 in 165 chance of dying before he's 5. Jill on the other hand is not so lucky and the odds of him reaching his 5th birthday are 1 in 6. Everyone was born into and are living in circumstances that they haven't chosen, it's not something we can change, we just have to live with it. It's something that has a huge impact and often determines the direction of our lives. We can't choose whether we were born into rich family or a poor family. We can't choose if we're black or white, male or female, disabled or not disabled, tall or short, intelligent or not. These are things that don't fully define who we are but they do often influence how people may see you. Imagine if someone like Kate Sheppard was born into poverty, her fight for women 's rights might not have been prioritised because she had to focus on her own survival. And even if they that did seem important, her education would probably have been very limited. Education for females in some third world countries is frowned upon because they don't believe in educating women. Or what if Usain Bolt was born with cerebral palsy, affecting the part of the brain that controls legs, we'd have a new world champion sprinter. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. My Autobiography As a kid, I was always extremely talkative. So talkative that teachers would get on to me. Teachers would say so many different things to me, but I never let it bother me. The most common thing they would say would be like,"Kate, quit talking and go move to a different seat." Usually, I would respond back with,"Okay" in an annoyed tone, because all I wanted to do was talk. I would still find a way to talk to someone else, but after a while, I would hear my teacher say my name again. "Kate this is your last chance to quit talking or else you're going to the office or I'm going to be calling your mom," they would say. "Okay," I would quietly respond back. Throughout the years as I go little older I started caring about the little things people would say about me. Like one of the little things that would bother me was when some of my friends or even some classmate would point out how I have an accent, or how I would do things differently than them. I became very subconscious about my speaking every single time I would talk because I felt like everyone would be paying close attention to it. I didn't realize that as a kid that having an accent would be that noticeable to others. Suddenly my life took a turn when I entered 5th grade. It started out great. I had a few friends that I could communicate and hang out with, but as weeks gone by I started to become like a closed door. I rarely said a word to any of my friends. The most I would have talked was probably a sentence or two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
