Essay on Appreciating Mom
Growing Lily
At age three I said "I love you mommy." At age seven I said, "Mom, stop kissing my cheek!" At age
fifteen I say, "You're so annoying– I can't wait to move out!" At age eighteen, I'll be saying "I miss
home." At age twenty–seven I'll be saying "I miss my mom." At age forty I'll be saying "I miss you
so much; I wish you didn't have to go." My mom is the sun to my shine. My mother is a hard worker.
She loves what she does for a living. She does arrangements for peoples' houses. I've seen her
work from 7 a.m. to midnight at times. The hard work pays off but most of her earnings go to bills
or groceries. When she has a new project, she goes shopping for flowers to make what mental image
she has in her into reality. The...show more content...
She has the power to make you smile when you're down, make you cry by telling a story, keep you
under control when you're too rowdy and get angry when needed. Family is an important thing to my
mother. She loves to spend as much time as she can with them. She believes in the Hawaiian
saying, "Ohanna: Nobody gets left behind." This past summer we went on a cruise ship. The
whole side of my mom's family had gone. I enjoyed my time there, especially when we arrived in
Cozumel, MX. One of the most embarrassing things that could happen to me frightened my mom
to death. Purging is said to make you lose weight. The banging on the restroom door startled me
knowing I would be caught. From that point on she took extra care of my health. Looking after
what I ate, when I should exercise etc. When I was fourteen, my parents and I made a deal that if I
lost twenty pounds, I would be able to get my first tattoo. She supported me with it, thus, me losing
the weight. Not everyone grows up with manners. I have a high tolerance for respect. Growing up
going to church every Sunday due to my mom helped me adapt to maturity. Not that I'm highly
bipolar, but I do lose my temper really drastically. I've been taught by my mom to forgive and
forget. Through the worst of her times that people have put her through; she forgives. She tells me
I have the blood of my dad seeing as how I will always hold a grudge towards someone no matter
what. I know my mom wants the best for her kids,

Profile of My Mother
Getting to know my Mom It took me eighteen years to spend some quality time with my mother
and discover what an incredible journey she has had with my brothers and me. She is the kind of
person who has always been very involved with all parts of our daily lives. In fact, she was the kind
of mother who always had time for her three sons, worked full–time and had time to devote to
community projects too. Her energy and enthusiasm for all of these things seemed endless and she
always tried to teach the three of us to see the value in the idea of giving back to the community. I
was always glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me
over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so...show more content...
My mother also says, "...I am pretty sure God intended for me to have sons. I am more of a
tomboy than I am barbie doll. I am sure I would not have done well teaching a daughter how to do
all the girlie things. Not to mention, when my nieces were little, I noticed the drama began very
early on and they talked incessantly." Of course she winks and grins with these remarks. She was
like a second mother to my cousins and loves them dearly. As much as she is quick to point out
the reasons she loved having sons and why they are so easy to raise, there is more to this story. I
can 't count the times she has asked all of us why we need to scratch ourselves all of the time. This
is not something females understand. It is not something males really want or feel they need to
explain because it is just what we do. She can laugh about it and enjoyed imitating us and asking if
we would like to see her walking around the house in her underwear scratching or fondling her parts.
My mother was less tolerant of another brotherly trait – squabbling. That was another part of our
dynamic which just seemed normal to my brothers and me. We just liked to agitate each other. To
my mother this was upsetting because she didn 't want anyone hurt and she wanted to make sure
we had good relationships in the future. It was not easy for her to get us to engage in conversations
about feelings and relationships. Try as she might, we were most often not did not feel her same

Love Of A Mother Essay
A LOVE OF A MOTHER
Mother is the woman who gave birth to you. Mother is the one who knows all about you and
Mother is the one who sacrifice all for you. So all mother in the world should be respected because
we all know that they deserve it and always remember that we are here because of them. Love,
respect and care your mother as you can, Because if you love someone you feel that they are very
important to you and if you respect you have a good opinion of them, and lastly if you care you feel
that it is important and are concerned about it.
She is the first person to sacrifice her life by giving birth to all of us children. She taught us how
to walk, talk and smile. Our first mentor and teacher in helping us determine what is right and
wrong. That is how our mothers are! Some moms, especially in our new generation evolve as the
sole providers of the family. Many are saying that mothers are the emotional backbones of the
family. If problems occur they are the strongest person to hold back and we can...show more content...
She is her children's best friend. A mother is someone who loves you unconditionally and more than
life itself. Mothers are angels in disguise sent from God to watch and help us through our
troublesome times. We hardly stop to think of how they feel and if they need help, we abuse them in
a sense by not appreciating them enough. The definition for love is a great liking or affection.
But love is something stronger. Love doesn't give up, doesn't have a swelled head and doesn't
force itself on others. Love isn't jealous, is always forgiving and without love, we are nothing. A
mother's love is a bond that connects us together, even before birth. It is stronger than any feeling
of hate or fury. Love takes on everything, even if it can't carry it all. Mothers may seem just like
ordinary people, but they are really super heroes in disguise! They show their love in a million
different ways every

Definition Essay On Mother
What is a mother? Most with this title are indeed moms, but are they true "Mothers"? The title of
"Mother" holds great meaning with most people, including myself. It does not simply mean a mom.
No, a mother is the woman who nurtures you, holds us when no one else will and teach us lessons
that cannot be found or bought anywhere else, by anyone else. My Mother is a strong, determined,
hard working woman that has taught me the importance of putting others before myself. She has
sacrificed a great deal for our family and continues to teach me more and more no matter how old or
wise I think I get. She has shown amazing strength and determination. I believe my mother to be the
perfect example of how a true mother should be in her own imperfect way....show more content...
True wisdom is passed down from one generation to another and should be held among the highest
of values when passed on. The knowledge of just what true strength and determination is, is one
of the highest things i hold of value and will ensure my children value it the same. I will make
these attributes the base upon which my children will be built, just as my mother has done to me.
My children will not fail, they will not stay on the ground when knocked down, they will not give
in to the darkness that will surely challenge them in the future. They will not faulture because they
will be raised upon the powerful virtues of strength and determination. Just imagine if the other
kids of their generation were raised upon the same principles? Could you even imagine the benefits
and rewards that would be reaped? Imagine a generation shrouded in strength with a determined
mindset to make the world a better place. The things that they could achieve would be
incomprehensible. Therefore, we as a people must focus on sowing these values into the soon to be
generation so that the rewards reaped upon their arrival will be enough to change the world in which
they live in for the

Autobiography Of My Mother
My mother is mestiza, my father is mestizo, my brother is mestizo, my tias, my tios, as am I. All
mestizos. I've been told I am worthy of praise because I carry your language on my tongue without
an accent, because I had an American education, because I can recite allegiance to your country. I
am told I am worthy because I could assimilate to the culture, unlike my parents. I am often
presented with shocked faces when I speak my second language, English, faces that always tell me
that they would have never guessed I spoke so perfectly, thinking they'd have to work twice as hard
to understand my heavy, foreign accent–the same accent my parents have. On top of that, I am the
color of the sun reigning on my skin. I found from my 17 years here, it does not matter whether
you are the color of milk or whether I speak English without an accent, the moment I speak
Spanish and invite someone outside of my culture into my home and they notice I have Caso
Cerrado on TV or see my mother swinging her hips to Vicente Fernandez, I am no longer White to
them or "an insider." I am other, an outsider. A "dangerous" outsider. "Ni de aqui, ni de aca." "Ni de
aqui," not White enough, deemed too Mexican. "Ni de aca," not Mexican enough, mestiza, and too
whitewashed. Linda Alcoff (2006) said that after both her and her sister became "highly assimilated,"
they found that the process created feelings of alienation, inferiority, and inadequacy (p. 266). They
diligently censored themselves and

Becoming a Teenage Mother Essay
Shyla Henry September 11, 2012 Becoming a Teenage Mother I never thought having
unprotected sex would lead to a teen pregnancy. However, I was wrong. Being young, immature,
and thinking I was invincible led me to becoming a teenage mother. The disbelief came first,
followed quickly by panic, before the realization and acceptance arrived. I had sex and I had to be
mature and deal with the consequences and grow up faster than most teenagers. The days of my
carefree teen life are now behind me as I tend to my eight month old son's every need. At first,
finding out I was pregnant was a devastating shock to not only myself but everyone around me. I
was only eighteen and was a senior in high school. I had such high expectations for myself....show

I woke my boyfriend up and called my mother and we rushed to the hospital. I was nervous and
excited at the same time. After eight hours of labor, the baby wasn't cooperating at all. I wouldn't
dilate past eight and I already had three epidurals. I was in so much pain. After being in labor for
twenty three hours, the doctors said it was time for a cesarean. I was so scared. All of a sudden, I
heard my son screaming. My heart melted and I couldn't keep the tears from coming. That was
the best moment of my life. Justin and I named our son, Bentley Michael McCartney. He weighed
eight pounds and thirteen ounces and he was twenty one inches tall. He was beautiful and
healthy. Seeing my son made me realize that I was now an adult and I would be the best mother I
possibly could be. Becoming a teenage mother is more difficult then most teenagers realize. I go
to college, work, clean and cook, and take care of my family. I love Bentley with all of my heart
and wouldn't trade him for anything. However, if I waited to have Bentley, I would be done with
college and not have to worry or struggle. I encourage young teenage girls to use protection and
wait to have children. Life with a child is very hard. However, I wouldn't have my life any other

A Biography On My Mom
I wrote a biography on my mom because she is basically an older and wiser me, but her childhood
wasn't exactly as easy. Lashae Damore Bibbins was born on March fifteenth, 1970 in Los Angeles
California at the UCLA Medical Center. She was born on her dad's birthday and unfortunately, the
day her father's best friend died from a car incident. Lashae's parents are Lucille and John Jefferson.
Her first memory was when she was four or three years old in pre–school called Kimberly Ann in
1973. Lashae says, "I remember they had an ugly red carpet, and I refused to take a nap till the
teacher said "okay just lay down quietly". I used to watch a T.V show called "H.R. Puffin Stuff."
There was a red flute, an ugly green witch and the trees moved and talked." Lashae's mom
especially remembers when Lashae would cry every time she dropped her off, which gave her a
headache. As a child Lashae was most afraid of dying. She would think about it all the time and
scare herself. She also remembers the weekends when she was young. "Saturdays were the best
because I was able to watch cartoons all morning while drinking hot chocolate and eating toast with
grape jelly. My favorite t.v–show to this day was the Brady Bunch."
Lashae had two siblings. Her unreliable older brother, Maurice, who she thought was very weird
because he would always lie and steal from their family and an annoying younger sister, Meme, who
at the time lived to make Lashae's life miserable by pretending that Lashae hurt

Definition Essay Mother
Mother. The definition of mother is to bring up a child with care and affection. Mother. My
definition of mother is a touch different. When someone mentions "mother" or "mom" to me I
think of hollering, screaming and cruel. I used to think the world of my mom but I few years ago
I changed my mind. When I was only three years old my parents got a divorce and separated. My
mom didn't want to see us until a few months after the divorce. She moved to an one bedroom
studio apartment in downtown Des Moines and she couldn't take care of my brother and I,
therefore we went and lived with my dad. We were not supposed to go and stay with my mom
because she only had one bedroom and she was going to make me and my brother sleep in the same
room together....show more content...

like he was gone for days. Once he got back he told me that my mom approved of me moving to
Hampton and that I was supposed to go down the next weekend for a week and pack up my stuff
because my mom claimed my room was so messy it would take a week to clean. I knew that was
far from true because when I left her house to go to Hampton for the summer my room was
spotless. The next weekend I went down to my mom's and after taking out all of their stuff they
piled in my room my room was spotless. I packed all my stuff up in less than three

Essay On Mother Nature
Mother Nature is unpredictable. We are vulnerable to her great wrath and how it can produce
environmental disasters. In recent events, we have seen Hurricane Harvey not only destroy
buildings, homes, and environmental structures. It has also claimed the irreplaceable....lives. The
Governor of Florida articulated it best as he encouraged citizens to evacuate his state as Hurricane
Irma approached. He pleaded and stated, "We can rebuilt homes, but we can't rebuilt your life." As
society continues to research vulnerability to disaster, both for built systems and vulnerable
populations. Society must also recognizes that factors such as wealth and poverty, race and ethnicity,
gender and age; specifically, how they influence...show more content...
This could never have been an option for poverty stricken citizens.
"In contrast with homeowners, renters are dependent on their landlords to carry out activities that
can reduce disaster vulnerabilities, such as making routine repairs and improvements, complying
with building and safety codes, and carrying out specific disaster loss–reduction measures" (Tierney,
2006, pg. 113). Citizens that live in poverty main objectives are; paying the rent to have a rough
over their heads and having food on the table. Their financial instabilities does not provide them the
luxuries of providing additional improvising to reduce disaster vulnerabilities. Additionally, many
can't even afford to evacuate; regardless, if the evacuation becomes mandated. Financially, they do
not have the additional financial resource to "just get up and go". History has shown that a majority
of this financial factors, are amongst specific races and ethnicity.
Race and Ethnicity
The United States has a diversity of race and ethnicity amongst its population. When some disasters
are predicated such as a known Hurricane that is predicted to be a Category Five. Scientist can
estimate the damages that it may cause, which will provide the advance notice for citizens to
evacuate. Regardless of advance notices, many citizens within specific race and ethnicity, don't even
speak the English language and don't understand the warnings. "Warnings cannot be issued for all
types of disasters, but even

It was not easy for her to get us to engage in conversations about feelings and relationships. Try as she might, we were most often not did not feel her same Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. Definition Essay On Mother What is a mother? Most with this title are indeed moms, but are they true "Mothers"? The title of "Mother" holds great meaning with most people, including myself. It does not simply mean a mom. No, a mother is the woman who nurtures you, holds us when no one else will and teach us lessons that cannot be found or bought anywhere else, by anyone else. My Mother is a strong, determined, hard working woman that has taught me the importance of putting others before myself. She has sacrificed a great deal for our family and continues to teach me more and more no matter how old or wise I think I get. She has shown amazing strength and determination. I believe my mother to be the perfect example of how a true mother should be in her own imperfect way....show more content... True wisdom is passed down from one generation to another and should be held among the highest of values when passed on. The knowledge of just what true strength and determination is, is one of the highest things i hold of value and will ensure my children value it the same. I will make these attributes the base upon which my children will be built, just as my mother has done to me. My children will not fail, they will not stay on the ground when knocked down, they will not give in to the darkness that will surely challenge them in the future. They will not faulture because they will be raised upon the powerful virtues of strength and determination. Just imagine if the other kids of their generation were raised upon the same principles? Could you even imagine the benefits and rewards that would be reaped? Imagine a generation shrouded in strength with a determined mindset to make the world a better place. The things that they could achieve would be incomprehensible. Therefore, we as a people must focus on sowing these values into the soon to be generation so that the rewards reaped upon their arrival will be enough to change the world in which they live in for the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Autobiography Of My Mother My mother is mestiza, my father is mestizo, my brother is mestizo, my tias, my tios, as am I. All mestizos. I've been told I am worthy of praise because I carry your language on my tongue without an accent, because I had an American education, because I can recite allegiance to your country. I am told I am worthy because I could assimilate to the culture, unlike my parents. I am often presented with shocked faces when I speak my second language, English, faces that always tell me that they would have never guessed I spoke so perfectly, thinking they'd have to work twice as hard to understand my heavy, foreign accent–the same accent my parents have. On top of that, I am the color of the sun reigning on my skin. I found from my 17 years here, it does not matter whether you are the color of milk or whether I speak English without an accent, the moment I speak Spanish and invite someone outside of my culture into my home and they notice I have Caso Cerrado on TV or see my mother swinging her hips to Vicente Fernandez, I am no longer White to them or "an insider." I am other, an outsider. A "dangerous" outsider. "Ni de aqui, ni de aca." "Ni de aqui," not White enough, deemed too Mexican. "Ni de aca," not Mexican enough, mestiza, and too whitewashed. Linda Alcoff (2006) said that after both her and her sister became "highly assimilated," they found that the process created feelings of alienation, inferiority, and inadequacy (p. 266). They diligently censored themselves and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Becoming a Teenage Mother Essay Shyla Henry September 11, 2012 Becoming a Teenage Mother I never thought having unprotected sex would lead to a teen pregnancy. However, I was wrong. Being young, immature, and thinking I was invincible led me to becoming a teenage mother. The disbelief came first, followed quickly by panic, before the realization and acceptance arrived. I had sex and I had to be mature and deal with the consequences and grow up faster than most teenagers. The days of my carefree teen life are now behind me as I tend to my eight month old son's every need. At first, finding out I was pregnant was a devastating shock to not only myself but everyone around me. I was only eighteen and was a senior in high school. I had such high expectations for myself....show more content... I woke my boyfriend up and called my mother and we rushed to the hospital. I was nervous and excited at the same time. After eight hours of labor, the baby wasn't cooperating at all. I wouldn't dilate past eight and I already had three epidurals. I was in so much pain. After being in labor for twenty three hours, the doctors said it was time for a cesarean. I was so scared. All of a sudden, I heard my son screaming. My heart melted and I couldn't keep the tears from coming. That was the best moment of my life. Justin and I named our son, Bentley Michael McCartney. He weighed eight pounds and thirteen ounces and he was twenty one inches tall. He was beautiful and healthy. Seeing my son made me realize that I was now an adult and I would be the best mother I possibly could be. Becoming a teenage mother is more difficult then most teenagers realize. I go to college, work, clean and cook, and take care of my family. I love Bentley with all of my heart and wouldn't trade him for anything. However, if I waited to have Bentley, I would be done with college and not have to worry or struggle. I encourage young teenage girls to use protection and wait to have children. Life with a child is very hard. However, I wouldn't have my life any other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. A Biography On My Mom I wrote a biography on my mom because she is basically an older and wiser me, but her childhood wasn't exactly as easy. Lashae Damore Bibbins was born on March fifteenth, 1970 in Los Angeles California at the UCLA Medical Center. She was born on her dad's birthday and unfortunately, the day her father's best friend died from a car incident. Lashae's parents are Lucille and John Jefferson. Her first memory was when she was four or three years old in pre–school called Kimberly Ann in 1973. Lashae says, "I remember they had an ugly red carpet, and I refused to take a nap till the teacher said "okay just lay down quietly". I used to watch a T.V show called "H.R. Puffin Stuff." There was a red flute, an ugly green witch and the trees moved and talked." Lashae's mom especially remembers when Lashae would cry every time she dropped her off, which gave her a headache. As a child Lashae was most afraid of dying. She would think about it all the time and scare herself. She also remembers the weekends when she was young. "Saturdays were the best because I was able to watch cartoons all morning while drinking hot chocolate and eating toast with grape jelly. My favorite t.v–show to this day was the Brady Bunch." Lashae had two siblings. Her unreliable older brother, Maurice, who she thought was very weird because he would always lie and steal from their family and an annoying younger sister, Meme, who at the time lived to make Lashae's life miserable by pretending that Lashae hurt Get more content on HelpWriting.net
